Midnight Cinderella Character Notes

My character notes for the midcin suitors. I haven't played all their routes and these will probably change and update as I'm writing & as I acquire more info. Some creative liberties/interpretations inevitable. I've also added some notes for the Princess I'm writing, Lettie.

Updating :) Worked out my notes more in the editing process. So far I have Louis & Lettie done (for now). I've expanded on the other suitors a bit but they're not done & I need to go through the routes more to pin down specifics. I left the notes I had and I'll update as they're done :)

The 'relationship' section for the suitors is how I think they are around love, in relationships in general. I have further notes about how they are with Lettie but that's just plot isn't it? Secrets secrets.

Loretta “Lettie” or “Etta” Vachon – Local medicine woman? Witch?

Personality/Background - Born in the Wysterian countryside, raised with her brother by a single mother who worked as a ladies maid. Lettie spent most of her time looking after the children of the family her mother worked for. After the death of her mother, Lettie was left alone to raise Theo. The master of the household sent them away with a sum of money, which Lettie spent almost entirely on small house in the capital. Finding work enough to survive was difficult but Lettie made herself useful to neighbors who began coming to her for the skills she had learned from her mother. (I have to nail this down more specifically, think masking gallic polytheistic practices with catholic saints/practices to go under the radar during the crusades.) As Lettie became more involved with their lives and making more money, it created rumors of witchcraft. Lettie fed into it, creating a reputation that kept people away while keeping a network of trustworthy clients.

Her personality lends itself well to the witch rumors. Ornery, blunt, more often than not rude or sarcastic. Beneath that, she’s been a caretaker since a young age and it runs deep in her. The loss of her mother and the family she had grown up caring for made her acutely aware of how much it can hurt to love people, but she can’t help herself. She can’t turn her back on people, even if she’s swearing at you and scolding the entire time. Voice - Her family was very involved with the family they served, Lettie and Theo both had access to their library. Lettie’s accent is prominent, either softly pronouncing h’s or not at all, putting emphasis on the last syllables of words, and having a rising intonation at the end of statements. Doesn’t use qualifiers, is always sure before she speaks. Appearance - Overall narrow & lithe build. Despite her nature her features are delicate, if you can notice it under her glare. Almond shaped brown eyes, so dark they’re almost black, usually narrowed in scrutiny. Short, straight brows & covered in freckles head to toe. Long ashy brown hair she’s been cutting herself, so it’s not even.

Louis Howard - Duke

Personality/Background - Cold, distant, bored, & apathetic front. Really he’s entirely cynical, disillusioned, and broken down. He’s not self hating, beyond thinking himself a coward. He’s more motivated by the fear of letting anything true or genuine slip about him. He does have a sense of humor somewhere in there, it’s just buried and it takes knowing him a long while before he’ll let that slip. Rude, sarcastic bitch. Even defrosted there are some things that don’t change.

He doesn’t do anything half assed. Even things he doesn’t want to do. His entire wounded heart is in everything he does from the moment he decides it.

Background isn’t super clear. He says he was kidnapped maybe. He probably at least feels that way as he just went to bed an orphan and literally woke up in the Duke’s manor. Sid says Louis was “paid for��� and the orphanage “sold him off.” But a couple paying money to an orphanage and getting a kid is just kind of adoption it’s not really kidnapping. Either way Louis is high key traumatized so I think there is more to it. The world of nobility is cruel sure but my man is having full body responses & projecting his trauma onto a chick he literally just met. What happened to you baby. Voice - Light and elegant, but tendency to be flat to the point of monotone. Tendency to mutter that has never been entirely trained out of him. Not very deep but his emotion can become very apparent in it, particularly anger. Appearance - He’s so gorgeous he looks like he was carved from smooth marble, too bad he’s about as stiff as it too. High cheek bones, heart shaped face. Heavy lidded bright blue eyes & pretty lashes, but they lend themselves well to glaring. I’m looking at a picture of him and what is his hairstyle? Straight, golden blonde hair that he chronically puts off cutting, so it always ends up hanging in his eyes. There’s a statuesque quality to his body as well, that soft marble sort of look that makes him both chiseled and delicate. The plane of his chest is smooth and firm but his waist has a bit of a curve to it, slight wrists, lean legs.

He doesn’t mind being told his face is pretty, but he actually hates to have his body called pretty, smooth, anything that implies it’s feminine or boyish. Makes him self conscious. (He also never grows facial hair, Sid does and he won’t let him forget it)

Albert Burckhardt - knight, advisor

Strong moral, chivalric code. Impeccably skilled & serious but can be flustered. He can be playful but it comes out more in competitiveness, teasing, bickering. Can't really show he cares directly.

“You come across like you're cool and collected but you're a big ball of crazy under there aren't you?” Repressed emotions, he's intense and its not that far below the surface. Even when he's sweet he's intense.

Giles Christophe - Chamberlain

He seems strict but he's hardworking. Playful & flirtatious, no that's not just with the Princess it's how he is. Subtle flair for dramatics but also he’s a wine mom. Kind of a worrier. There’s a Tamaki Suoh vibe in there somewhere.

Lettie wants to be more like him, the way he can see a path forward and maneuver it. More graceful. I gotta re read his route I didn't like it at the time lol

Alyn Crawford - Captain

Grumpy Jock refuses to admit his own feelings to himself, often. Until they reach a fever pitch. Tsundere, would really rather blame you for whatever he feels.

Not possessive, more so easily jealous and very needy. Don’t look at anyone else. You know when a dog doesn’t look like they like being pet but then they growl if you stop?

There goes the captain. And his charge who doesn't have to listen to him.

Sid Arnault - "information dealer"

His title sounds like something he made up. We know what he does, he's supposed to manage the Grandier estate. Is "information dealing" (read: extortion, espionage) a family business or does Sid do this to have his own $, not the Grandiers?

Arrogant and doesn't really give a shit about about anyone but himself. But at the same time he doesn't actually think all that highly of himself. Smarter and thinking more long term than he would let on. It just so happens that long term includes primarily get money, get bitches.

Lettie challenges him, they insult each other back and forth as greetings. He never cares what anyone thinks, why is he obsessing over what Lettie thinks or how she reacts to him? Internal panic.

Nico Meier - Advisor?

Given how Byron came to rule Stein, it wouldn't be surprising if Albert & Nico's positions are a given. They don't have official titles outside of whatever is most advantageous for them to move politically. "Advisor" sort of suits Albert but Nico feels more like a shadowy left hand.

Cheeky bastard, more of a flirt the more he knows someone. Knows he's adorable, manipulative little shit. Loves hard, he will die to prove himself to you.

At first he’s a cute distraction, but she feels more seriously for him when he shows more competence & skill.

Robert Branche - Court Painter

Seems even keeled but actually has a quiet, dark intensity. More pessimistic & cynical than he lets on. I gotta get his route because I need to know more about his deal.

She doesn't need him. She sees all sides of him, not just the warm front. She is patient when he is bitter and dark. Doesnt try to change him, lets him deal with things how he does.

Rayvis Harneit - Archduke

Cool and composed, “does everything perfectly.” Ok so he’s probably a freak under that, right? Controlling. He can keep his emotions under control but when they get more intense he has no idea what to do with them.

Lettie is stubborn, calls bullshit on his persona constantly. He’s not used to being challenged. He falls for her hard and it is completely out of his control and he is not being normal about it.

Leo Crawford - Bureaucrat

hyperintelligent nerd. Very well read, knows something about everything, and will charge for his knowledge in kisses. Playful flirt but he’s got a mean streak when he gets angry.

Leo doesn't work well with a lady, he needs an equal he can be unhinged and playful with. He gets bored easy.

Byron Wagner - 👑

Entirely left brained, to a fault. Thinks for efficiency not emotionally. Has a sense of humor though.

Hot/cool. He's shocking ice or refreshing water, she's fireworks or the burn of alcohol in your chest

Notes on their relationships -

Byron, Al, & Nico - Bastard, Bitch, & Baby. They can turn it on and be the indomitable trio of Stein, but really they’re always 3 brothers competing and messing with each other. Albert can pretend he’s above it but he is not.

Yes Nico & Al fight over who loves Byron more. Yes they will try to prove it.

Giles, Alyn, Sid, Leo, Louis - Why do I kind of feel like they’re friends. They have to deal with each other for work, they have little work/life distinction, turns into drinks after work… turns into god damn dude i been around you too long.

Giles is the wine mom friend, he knows exactly how the rest will fuck up before they do it, and he will say I told you so afterwards. Alyn is supposed to be his rock, but his temper will get the better of him. Alyn feels the same way about Giles, but Giles lets his stress get the better of him.

Alyn and Sid get along, and I can see it but I don't quite know why. In game Alyn can read that Sid is actually panicking when the MC is kidnapped even though in text he seems calm.

Leo & Giles are prone to the same vices of women & alcohol, so Leo loves to be the devil on his shoulder. Leo & Sid are a deadly combination when together, especially if left alone.

Fight on sight with Leo & Alyn. Leo will be a snarky dick and Alyn will start swinging. But they still know each other better than anyone else & can read each other a mile away.

Sid & Louis are the eternal bickering married couple. Louis says he hates him and he does, but he loves him too.

For some reason I feel like Louis & Leo would get along. Leo is 20% more chill with Louis & he appreciates that. Louis is no bullshit, hates the stupid games nobles play, and Leo appreciates that. Fuck everybody else, I respect you.

Second Thoughts

Summary: On thinking he's a burden to his princess, Giles makes the ultimate sacrifice.

Warning: Angst, tears, breakups, Giles thinking crazy, fluff at the end

“So what is the point of us being together and planning on getting married if you don’t know if you love me.” Antoinette looked on the verge of tears as she waited for an answer from Giles. When none was given she just got up from her seat and went to the door. Before leaving his office “After all we went through to prove to everyone that you were the only one I would choose as my consort, you are going to throw it all away just like that.” And with that, she left his office and made her way to her chambers, with tears running down her face while he stayed where he was looking at the ring that she had left on his desk.

Giles couldn’t go after her, everyone knew about his illness including the Princess. So when it was coming to plan the wedding he couldn’t help but remind himself that he was being selfish by putting that much burden on her and he thought that she would be better off without him but his heart was breaking in half as hers when she left his office.

Antoinette did not leave her room for the rest of the day and bright and early the next morning she got ready and went to see King Ronold before anyone. After explaining what had happened between them, she requested that Giles no longer be her chamberlain\tudor and really didn’t want to see him in the palace at all. The King understood her feelings and assured her that he would take care of it and that her new tudor would be Leo and would have a word with Giles. As she stepped out of the King’s chambers, Giles was about to knock on the door, They both paused before out of nowhere she punched him so hard that the documents went flying and he landed on the floor, his eyes were in disbelief that she just punched him and with that, she left without a second glance at him but a tear silently fell down her cheek. It took him awhile to get up and when he finally did, Leo was just arriving at where he was to speak to the King as well, he helped Giles but didn’t say anything because he had just seen the Princess slam the door to her office and he felt like he was about to find out what had happened between them. Giles went in to see the King first, King Ronold just shook his head at him before letting him know that the Princess had requested for him to step down from his position and Leo would be taking over from now on. “Giles please tell me that this isn’t because you feel like you are a burden with your illness to Princess Antoinette and that is why you called off the wedding?” Giles didn’t respond but King Ronold just needed to see in his eyes that was the reason. “Fine, you leave me no choice. I know Leo is there at the door, let him in.” An hour later Giles stepped out of the chambers and went to his room, he passed the Princess’ office, put his hand on the doorknob before letting it go, and went to his room to pack up.

The King thought it best for Giles to go away for awhile until he got in his mind that he was not a burden to anyone, so the King sent him to Laurelia to see an old friend of his that has a son who has the same illness and to show that he can live a good life without anything terrible happening. Princess Antoinette was told that he had a new job as ambassador at Laurelia and would be gone for many months at a time so there was no risk of having him near. The first few weeks were painful for both of them, she cried every night with an article of clothing that was left in her room from the last time they were intimate, and for him, he had a handkerchief of hers with a bottle of her favorite perfume. After some time the Princess stopped to cry every time Michelangelo came into the room that she was in, and with Leo’s help she was a little more cheerful whenever King Byron or Rayvis came over to visit, the group from Stein was told by Leo what had happened between Giles and the Princess so that is why they tried to come as much as they could or Spinner would always bringing Antoinette a gift. As for Giles as soon he got to Laurelia he had another episode but his host, the king, and queen of Laurelia knew exactly what was going on and had their physician come and check on him, After a few days Giles was better, and with the help and the physician he was now able to control the attacks to bear minimal and was able to meet the crown prince and saw that he was also suffering the same as him gave him hope for the future with his princess.

Because she was extremely busy, the months passed by, and her birthday was around the corner. King Ronold and the rest of her friends wanted to bring Giles and her back together, so a letter was sent to the Royal family of Laurelia to bring him back Giles all the while not letting Princess Antoinette get any hints of his return. To make sure that she was distracted Rayvis made an unannounced, to her, with Rook to celebrate her birthday. The staff of the palace made sure that dinner ran without a hitch. After a wonderful dinner, even though she had a great time she couldn’t shake off that bit of sadness that Giles was not her, and when blowing out the candles of her cake she wished for him to return even if it was for a moment. Sadly making her way to her room she didn’t notice that everyone was looking at her with care to see if what she finds next will make her happy again. When she got to her door, she noticed that her favorite kitty was at her door dressed with a purple kitty tie and a purple rose in its mouth “Michelangelo, did you get all dressed up for me?” Michelangelo drops the rose with a meow and leaves, She picks up the rose opens the door, and makes her way in, but as she closes the door she looks up stops suddenly, and drops the rose. There in the middle of her room in a purple rose petal heart shape stood Giles, A mix of emotions came to her but she ran to his open arms, and with tears running down her face she kisses him with all the love she still has for him. After what was an eternity, Giles breaks the kiss “My love, my Antoinette I am so sorry but the reason I left was because I was selfish, I didn’t want you to suffer due to my illness. But this trip has shown me that my worries were baseless” Breaking away from her embrace, he gets on one knee and pulls out the purple star sapphire ring and puts it on her ring finger “I Giles, offer my love and my life to thee, for better or worse, for all time. Will you accept me, the good and the bad, and become my Queen once and for all?” “Yess, a thousand times yes” she whispers before getting on her knees and kissing him again with all the love she has for him. For the rest of her birthday, Giles made her feel like a Queen he sees her every day.

Kickin It AU + Evie sketch

So if you’ve been following me on tumblr you know I have an in depth Descendents AU and a MBAV AU that I love… And I just rewatched a fav show of mine and instantly had a new AU crafted from thin air AGAIN! Third time this year bro…

A Kickin it AU…. Yeah I went crazy with this one. I literally dug up the most obscure one off characters to make this new AU. I’m so sad that this fandom is basically dead but tumblr is the place to do bullshit for fun so I will be doing that.

The guy above is Kai Brewer and if my AU inspires you to rewatch Kickin it I’m just going to warn you that Kai is only in two episodes of four seasons. In fact the main villains of my AU are made up of one off guest stars. Just like the fandoms of olden days…

Here are some sketches I WILL be reworking of Jack Brewer and Milton Krupnick respectively:

My AU is aged up to 18 because I relate to that age group. Kickin it is a show about a friend group doin karate and that’s it. If you know about the fandom you’re probably thinking “what about the will they won’t they between Jack and Kim?? 🥺” Honestly that plot line is the same as the will they won’t they for Sam and Freddie. That is to say it’s clear that nobody except the fandom cares about that. The writers add tidbits during some episodes and backtrack to keep the fandom watching and then they break up kinda.

Honestly I just see them as freinds and I almost think of Jake as aromatic but I literally head cannon everybody that way probably because I’m projecting so I dunno fam.

As for the AU I find that the Black Dragons were underutilized as direct parreles to the Wasabi Warriors. So I seek to rectify that. The only reoccurring black dragons throughout the first three seasons are Ty the Sensei and Rudy’s past best friend and Frank. A pedophile. Yeah that bitch is 19 and he’s obsessed with 14 yr old Kim. For no reason… he didn’t have to be 19. So obviously I fixed that bullshit.

The BDs are in universe considered the more prestigious Dojo as well as the most evil. They fight dirty in every competition shown in the show which parrales the Wasabi code which is all about honesty and fairness. ( even tho half the plots are about the WWs doing the opposite of that sometimes with no consequences lmao)

Kai is Jacks cousin and the only guy who was able to beat him. That’s significant as Jack is literally the most op guy in the whole show. Bro can take out 10 grown men by himself at the age of 15 in five minutes at most. So in my AU those two are parreles to each other. Cousins who trained together and who fell out long ago over different views on what martial arts is for. Both student leaders of their Dojos while also being mirrors of their senseis relationship. Their Sensies Rudy (Jack) and Ty (Kai) which also trained together but fell out because of a fart. (Fr bro and I will not be changing that cse it’s hilarious)

The rest of the Evil team are banded together after Jack beats their asses in the cannon of the show and they all mysteriously get envites to join the Black Dragon Dojo. Brody Carlson ( played by Billy Unger) gets a major change to the og. He got redeemed cause he was a guest star from Lab Rats but in my AU he stays bad because now he’s reoccurring. Jack hands his ass to him and he’s mad. He’s a parallel to Jerry as the third best in the dojo. Carson Hunter ( played by Boo Boo Stewart ) was originally a parallel to Jack as the liar reveal plot line. He was also a special guest star like Unger. Here he’s Kim’s parrallel as second best of his Dojo and due to the fact that he was Kim’s Jack before Jack who turned out to be a cheater. The reason I made him 2nd instead of first is because Kai is way more evil then him and had a bigger impact on Jacks life. Hes the reason Jack stoped doing Martial Arts for two years. And after that he tried to kill his cousin twice just so he couldnt get a trophy. Once with gang activity actually. All Carson does is like take Jacks place in one competition and use a tiny sand bag in his hand wraps that Jack exploded instantly with a single punch. Frank Bickle is a parallel to Milton Krupnick more like a smart guy verses dumbass type thing. Frank was portrayed often in the og show so I don’t have to explain him. He’s a dumb ass bully brute who Jack manhandles every chance he gets. Arther Turner (played by Sterling Beaurmon) is a parallel to Eddy. Arther was a rich, rude, and petty guy and I think that Eddy is a pretty down to earth and sweet person. Both of them are shit at karate though and it would be brutally unfair to pit them against all the other more capable characters. Arther definitely throws money at his problems lowkey.

At first all the villain characters don’t get along together so they can’t beat the WW who have the power of friendship and Jack on their side but as they slowly become freinds they get more dangerous. Like most of these characters were black belts or on par with Jack and their position as one offs led to them being shafted for how they could challenge the Wasabi crew. Here I can write fun dynamics for them and give Jack a massive run for his money which I believe he really needed. Like bro was INVINCIBLE there are no stakes, if someone goes against Jack it doesn’t matter. If you’re young, old, or what Jack will handle your ass quickly and will not break a sweat. Like don’t cross him or your ass is DONE.

Imagining an equally powerful group with a close bond who directly oppose and parallel them is really intriguing. It’s also more down to earth then my Descendants AU. I don’t have to deal with a massive magical world with magical powers. It’s a small town called Seabrooke with some rival Dojos engaging in classic teen rivalry shenanigans. There is no massive goal here except proving who’s better by the end of senior year’s competition season.

Imma do more of this AU cause I love it and I can’t let it go.
