            Lenny Kravitz is an American music artist and actor. He has had hit singles such as Again (2000), Believe (1993), and Fly Away (1998). He also appeared on screen in Precious (2009), The Hunger Games (2012), and The Simpsons (2002).

            Kravitz was born in New York, his father was a television news producer and his mother was an actress which influenced him to enter the entertainment industry. His mother is of African-American and Bahamian descent and his father is of Ukrainian-Jewish origin. He was named after his uncle, Leonard Kravitz, a private who was killed during the Korean War, aged 20. Kravitz was interested in music from a young age, and fell in love playing the drums and playing the guitar. He listened to different genres of music growing up, and was inspired after going to a Jackson 5 concert when he was 7. He moved to Los Angeles in 1974, aged 10, where he became interested in rock music.

            Kravitz has been married once to actress Lisa Bonet and he has one child, Zoe Kravitz. He has been linked to Vanessa Paradis, Nicole Kidman, and allegedly with Kylie Minogue. Kravitz is a Christian as well as Jewish (through his family). He lives in America, Paris, and Brazil and also has land in the Bahamas. He is a vegan and grows his own food in Brazil.
