As you have probably learned from the media, I SADLY have to leave the club after 10 SUCCESSFUL years. I would have loved to end my sporting career at the club where I was able to celebrate my greatest successes - here at VfL. Sporty as well as privately, I've always felt very comfortable here, had a wonderful time in which I matured as a player, but also as a person. 10 years of VfL! In sports, a long time. I've been able to celebrate many successes with the club, I've met a lot of great people here, and above all I've made friends for life here. With a lot of heart and passion I have always fought for our green and white colors AND I WAS ALWAYS HUNGRY TO BRING TITLES WITH THE TEAM and I enjoyed every single day here in Wolfsburg. The decision of the association is for ME to accept and respect. THAT'S IT IN PROFESSIONAL SPORTS AND FOOTBALL. I will enjoy the next few months and will continue to give everything for VfL to achieve the greatest possible success this season - hopefully crowned with one or two titles. Thank you for your countless messages and your support over the past 10 years. Your Lena 🐺💚

Yeah we discussed this, the terms behind her leaving I feel are unacceptable and a really bad look from Wob. I get that the club is rebuilding but also she's given a decade of her life to the club, they want to 'rejuvenate the roster' but the least you can do is keep a veteran on who wants to keep playing. They offered her a job which she declined because she wanted to play, so instead it was decided that she wouldn't play for them.
