8 Secrets About Lemonade Renters Insurance That Has Never Been Revealed For The Past 8 Years | lemonade renters insurance
Lemonade is an up-and -coming insurance company that touts its new approach to giving homeowners and renters insurance. Unlike some companies, whose policies are generally one size fits all, Lemonade adjusts its policies to fit your needs. Plans start at just $5 per month and any additional premium money that the company does not use to pay claims is given to the charity of your choosing. In fact, you can be assured of being fully insured against any disaster or threat of destruction for the life of the policy. All you have to do is take an action or two to make sure that your house and family are protected in the face of whatever disaster lies over you.
The first step in taking out a lemonade renters insurance policy is to assess how much coverage you need for your dwelling. If your house holds four or more rooms, then you can save quite a bit of money by opting for the comprehensive package. Most packages will include coverage for property damage, theft, loss of earnings, and living expenses. Theft, as you probably already know, is not covered in a standard renters insurance policy because it is considered a “risky” activity. Living expenses are also not normally included, which means that you will be required to pay for these expenses out-of-pocket.
When you consider how extensive a security system is for your dwelling, then you can be sure that your lemonade renters insurance works best when it comes to protecting your valuables. For most packages, coverage includes protection against fire, smoke, hail, vandalism, malicious mischief, break-in, burglary, and malicious destruction. The cost of all these events vary depending on how much actual worth your valuables are.
One thing you might want to consider when choosing this type of coverage is whether you would like to file claims under a renter's insurance policy that also covers your personal belongings. There are some companies who do not offer this type of insurance policy, so it is important that you find a company who does if you are looking for peace of mind when it comes to protecting your personal items. Some people choose to file claims under a pet insurance policy instead of a rental insurance policy because they think that this type of insurance offers more benefits than a rental policy would. Pet insurance companies are not obligated to pay for lost items; however, they are required to file reports with the local authorities should a lost item be discovered. So, it can be helpful to file claims under a pet insurance policy so that if your dog or cat were to get stolen, you would have coverage to replace the animal.
Artificial intelligence is another hot topic these days. Many people believe that there will be a day when artificially intelligent robotic systems will be able to take over the jobs that human workers may be able to do. If you are renting an apartment or are in need of a place to live, you may want to think about the advantages of an artificial intelligence system being placed in your apartment or home. Some of the benefits that you can expect from installing one of these systems into your dwelling may include a reduction in your monthly water bill, the ability to control lighting and heating as well as the ability to fully equip your home with modern security devices. Some insurance companies are already offering discounts for such installations as part of their tenant services package.
Lemonade renters insurance is also available for customers who work from home or are self employed. This coverage is designed to protect you if something happens to your home while you are not there to oversee the operations of the property. For instance, if you are working on your laptop in the middle of the night and had a tardy customer service representative call you back that evening to fix a problem with one of the components, you may be able to get compensated for this interruption. So, it may pay to purchase renter's insurance, even if you do not use it on a regular basis. There are some insurance companies that will offer competitive rates and quality coverage, regardless of the area of the country that you live in.

Renter’s Insurance
Tumblr media
This is not an AD.
Once my fiancé and I found our apartment, we reviewed the lease which stated the complex required renter’s insurance. Totally normal, but I didn’t have any in college and my fiancé couldn’t add me to his because we aren’t legally married yet. So naturally, I went straight to google and started searching for insurance.
According to Millenial Money, Lemonade was rated the best overall. My fiancé used USAA, which is a great company, but he was paying more for his insurance than I paid for mine through Lemonade. My policy covers:
Personal Property $20,000
Portable Electronics $3,000
Loss of Use $6,000
Personal Liability $100,000
Medical Costs for Others $1,000
The overview of what’s covered is explained very clearly and includes: fire and smoke, bad weather, crime and vandalism, liability, and water damage.
Not included in my policy, but available to add are earth quakes, high risk dogs, and flood.
My base rate was $7.25 for all of the above. I am able to add coverage if needed, but what is listed is all that is required for my apartment. I was also able to add my fiancé for an additional $1.67 a month, making our total for renter’s insurance $8.92 per month for both of us.
Also, not that it is at all important, but the app and design are all really aesthetically pleasing, so it makes it a more enjoyable experience instead of looking at boring old adult colors.
What I love about Lemonade is that everything was explained crystally clear and in simple language that made everything easy to understand, it asked me questions about my living situation which made the plan more personalized to myself and the app makes it really easy to make changes and view my policy whenever need be.
Of course, there are many insurance companies and maybe another works better for you, but for me, I am glad I found Lemonade because I really enjoy it.

Breaking Down Walls
Fandom: Criminal Minds
Pairing: Derek Morgan x GN!Reader
Summary: You’ve watched Derek fix up the house next door all by himself for days at a time. He looks upset and exhausted, one day, so you decide to introduce yourself and treat him to lunch.
Tumblr media
(gif source)
This is the fifth time in the last two weeks you’ve seen this man. It’s usually early in the morning or late at night that he’ll appear and start working on the house next door to yours.
For the years that you’ve been there, that house has been an eyesore to the neighborhood. It’s had a rough history of owners and renters who just can’t seem to maintain the house.
Then last month, he started appearing. A tall, fit black man who looks some years older than you, hauling construction supplies out of his truck. He was never accompanied by anyone, no construction team in sight. Just him. And you’d hear him working on the house. The crashing of walls and ceilings too loud to ignore in the middle of the night. You’re not a very confrontational person, so you just choose to mutter complaints about the noise to yourself.
You saw him every once in a while and then, two weeks ago, you started seeing him more and more. From your window, you could see he was tense. There was often a frown on his face and you couldn’t help but wonder what was wrong.
It isn’t until the fifth time you see him in the past two weeks that you muster up the courage to speak with him.
You see him sitting on the porch, a water bottle in hand. He looks upset. So you quickly grab the pitcher of lemonade you made earlier that day as well as the slutty brownies you made the night before. With the tray in your hands, you make your careful journey to the house next door.
The man doesn’t even notice you, as he’s staring at the ground. It isn’t until you clear your throat that he looks up, “Oh. Sorry. Hi.”
You give him a polite smile, “Hi, sorry. I’ve seen you here a lot recently and you looked pretty upset, so I figured I’d bring over some lemonade and baked goods to lighten your mood?” he stares up at you questioningly and you stammer out, “I-I-I mean, if you want. If you don’t that’s okay. I just thought you’d need a pick me up or-or something. I can go, if you want.”
He chuckles at your embarrassed state and shakes his head, “No, no. It’s okay. I was just taken back is all,” he smiles up at you and you swear you’ve never seen a more heartstopping smile.
He scoots to his left to make room for you, “I don’t have any furniture set up yet so I hope you’re okay with sitting here.”
“Yeah, it’s no problem,” you set the tray beside him and sit on the other side of it, “I’m Y/N, by the way. I live right next door,” you offer your hand out to him and he shakes it, “I’m Derek. Derek Morgan. So, whatcha got here?”
You grab a class and start to pour the lemonade, “Homemade lemonade made this morning. I grew the lemons myself.” you hand Derek his glass and then gestured to the baked goods, “And these delicious goodies are my slutty brownies!”
He cocks a brow and grins at you, “Slutty brownies?”
You shake your head and hands at him, “Trust me, I didn’t name them! I don’t know who, but that’s what they’re called! They’re part brownie, part cookie, and part oreo.”
Derek gulped half of the lemonade and then picked up a slutty brownie. He chewed it for a few seconds and then moaned, “Holy shit! These are delicious! You made these yourself?!”
“Yup!”
“Damn! Is there a chance I can order some from you? I know the guys at my work would love these.”
You snicker, “Sure.”
He finished the one in his hand, gulped down more lemonade, and then grabbed another brownie, “Consider my spirits lifted.”
“So Derek...”
“Hm?”
“Are you like a one man construction team or something? Ever since you started working on this house,” you gesture to the building, “I never see anyone with you.”
He finished the last of his second brownie, and then downed the rest of the lemonade from his glass, “It’s kind of my thing. I’m an FBI agent and the job can get pretty draining, so I buy houses, fix them up, and then put ‘em on the market. The reconstruction is my way to cope with all the exhaustion from my job.”
You slowly nod your head, “Wow. That’s pretty cool. What do you do at the FBI? Or is that classified information?”
Derek snorts, “Not everything in the FBI is classified.”
“Okay, so what do you do?”
“It’s classified,” he answers with a grin and you roll your eyes while he laughs, “I’m kidding. I’m kidding. I work with the Behavioral Analysis Unit. The BAU. Been with them for a little over a decade?”
“Wow. What does the BAU do?”
“We help catch serial killers, for the most part. But sometimes law enforcement will ask for our help on a case they can’t seem to solve.”
Your eyes widen with excitement, “That’s awesome! Well, not the serial killer and death part, but the fact that you go around catching some really dangerous people. You’re like a modern day superhero!”
“Thanks. And like I said, it can get pretty draining, but knowing that I’ve taken a lot of bad people off the street is really what makes it all worth it.”
Rrrrring! Rrrrring!
“Speak of the devil,” he murmurs, pulling out his phone and answering it, “Hey, babygirl....Yeah. Okay, give me about thirty minutes and I’ll be there. Alright. See you soon.” he ends the call and looks at you, “Duty calls,” he stands up and dusts off his jeans, “Hey, thanks again for this Y/N. It really did cheer me up.” He picks up the tray as you stand and hold it out for you.
You pick up the plate and hand it to him, “For the road.”
“You serious?”
“Yup! Take some for your coworkers.”
“You’re an angel, you know that?” he says with a beaming smile and you just shrug, “No biggie. I guess I’ll see you whenever then.”
“Guess so.”
“See ya!” you take your tray and start to head back to your house, but then you stop, “And Derek?”
“Yeah?” he turns back around to face you.
“Can you maybe not hammer down walls and ceilings in the middle of the night? I need my beauty rest.”
He chuckles and gives you a nod, “Sure. Sorry about that. I’ll see you around, Y/N.”
“Good luck on your case!”
“Thanks!”
A week later, you see Derek again. This time, you bring a different dessert.
“Sex in a Pan?! What is with you and these weird dessert names?!”
“I didn’t name it!”
This would turn out to be an often occurrence with you and Derek. He comes to fix up the house, you come by with lemonade and an obscurely named dessert, and you’d chat until he has to get back to construction.
It isn’t until he’s finished with the house a month and a half later that he asks you out to dinner.

Primary
If there was one thing you had learned after all your trips with your boyfriend to the Primary Studio, it was that you needed an “artist outfit” on hand that consisted of old shirts and pants and even old shoes. Even with the protective aprons you wore, you two always somehow managed to get paint all over yourselves by the end of the night. Maybe it was the paint fights he liked to start. Maybe.
Pulling on your trusty paint-stained shirt, once a pristine white and now splattered with vibrant colors, and equally splattered jeans and sneakers, you hurried over to the studio space and straight to the room you knew he’d be in.
It was a shared space, an old apartment building converted into individual studios to be rented out by anyone needing a sanctuary for their creativity, and your boyfriend happened to be one of those people needing sanctuary.
Though the studios were individual rooms, the renters of those rooms had created a community, and the moment you’d walked in, you were greeted with the most spectacular sight. The artists had all collaborated to create murals of hearts, cupids, and little love quotes across a myriad of cloth banners, parchments, and posters that were stuck onto the brick walls of the building. It was endearing to see, especially given the little part going on between rooms. Refreshments - pink lemonade and fruit punch - were by the entrance, with sugar cookies and little candy hearts to take as you pleased. Very on theme. Borderline cheesy, really, but you couldn’t not love it.
You recognized some of the other artists that rented here and greeted them warmly as you made your way to your boyfriend’s studio on the top floor, two cups of pink lemonade in hand. You noticed that the door to his studio was uncharacteristically cracked open; he wasn’t too keen on the “open door” policy that some of the other artists in the building had.
But you lightly nudged the door open with your foot and made your way inside, a smile stretching over your face when you saw your love by the window, the sunset casting the most amazing glow over his features as he turned to you once he heard you come inside.
And then you noticed his own decorations. Little cutout hearts hung from the ceiling, rose petals littered the already cluttered floor, and a ridiculous plush cupid sat atop his desk.
“Valentine’s Day threw up in here too, huh?” you greeted him with a smirk, and Eren laughed loudly as he crossed the room and pulled you in for a kiss.
“Of course,” he murmured against your lips. “Happy Valentine’s Day.”
“Happy Valentine’s Day,” you echoed, pecking his lips once more before pulling away to hand him his drink. “All of you outdid yourselves! And nice job with the little snack table. I didn’t know if you wanted the pink lemonade or the fruit punch.”
“Smart move choosing the lemonade,” Eren commended you, taking a sip, “because I think Connie spiked the punch.”
“Very mature,” you snorted, then brightened up as you saw two blank canvases. “So, what are we doing tonight?”
Although it was Eren’s studio, it had also become your favorite place for a reason. He allowed you to explore any and all of your artistic whims here, and this was often a spot of many date nights, especially when one or both of you suddenly had a spark of inspiration hit. So many special memories were stored in this cramped, little sanctuary.
Eren’s creative channel of choice was currently portrait paintings, and he was quite gifted at it. He’d been doing some commissions lately, inviting people to his space and posing them so he could capture them a certain way.
“You’re going to be my muse today,” he announced, sitting down on one of his stools as he took another sip of his drink. “I’m going to paint you while you do whatever you want.”
“I’m always your muse,” you teased. When Eren reached to grab a paintbrush that had been dipped into the red of his palette, you knew what was coming. He flicked the paint at you and you squealed, trying to duck away and simultaneously find something to splatter onto him in revenge.
“So when you say ‘paint me’, you meant actually paint me,” you laughed, grabbing a tube of acrylic paint and waving it threateningly towards him.
Your threat did nothing to deter Eren, and it took less than a minute before an all-out paint war began. Eren had more of an advantage, flicking paint brushes coated in paint at you while you opted for a messier option of smearing your hands into paint and flicking your fingers at him, or sometimes even full on catching him to smear vivid handprints on his clothes.
It only stopped when you, as usual, were the first to call truce, with a smug and victorious Eren claiming his victory by stealing a kiss.
“You’re not going to paint me looking like this, are you?” you asked with a laugh, sitting down in one of his chairs after grabbing some charcoals you’d bought recently, an idea already formulating in your head.
“You look beautiful,” Eren said simply, situating himself in front of a blank canvas and dragging the easel closer to him. He was already starting to go into Artist Mode, brows knit in concentration as he looked at his paints, and then seemed to remember something, the spark flashing in his eye.
He grabbed something by his palette and you watched curiously as he came back towards you, holding what looked like a stick in his hand. Upon closer inspection, you realized it was an arrow made out of clay.
Innocently, Eren leaned over and poked your chest with it, a sweet smile adorning his sweet face.
“What’s that?” you asked him, and he snatched the arrow back before you could grab a hold of it.
“Connie made me Cupid’s Arrow, and gave explicit instructions on how to use it. I have to poke you in the heart with it, and then you have to poke me in the heart with it.”
“Oh yeah?” You tilted your head and grinned, gazing at Eren with a mischievous glint in your eye. “And then what happens?”
His face flushed entirely with a precious blush, but his eyes were determined, even if his voice shook a little as he said, “And then we’ll fall in love.”
Neither of you had said the “L” word yet.
The word coming from Eren’s mouth, and the way he was trying to tell you how he felt, made your throat close up with emotion.
Without saying anything, you gingerly took the clay arrow from his fingers and met his eyes as you poked his chest with it.

I like how, when I was filling out all the paperwork for my new apartment, they were like “ok you need to show us proof of renter’s insurance, you can use any insurance............ except Lemonade”
and ever since I did all my mail forwarding/holding thing with the post office, all the moving adverts I’ve gotten have been “PROTECT YOUR STUFF WITH LEMONADE!!!!!!!!!!!”
