the knob emitted a squeaking sound as you twisted it, standing still with your arms crossed, waiting for the water to warm up. “can you grab us some towels from the closet?” you turn to matt with a miniscule smile. you place your finger under the running water and feel the warmth before undressing. matt makes his way toward you with 2 folded towels, placing them on the edge of the counter. “can you get this hair tie out? it’s stuck.” matt signals for you to turn around and gently tugs at your hair in efforts to remove the hair tie. he does so and immediately rubs his fingers throughout your hair, letting it down, and scratching your scalp. he quickly undresses as you make your way to the shower.

you allow the warm water to run down you shoulders, with your head facing the floor before matt enters. “long day today?” matt poses softly as he takes hold of the loofah and adds in body wash. you sigh and nod as matt draws your shoulder towards him. he bunches up all of you hair into one hand and places it behind your back before gently brushing your collar bones with the loofah. soap suds form on your chest as you glance up at matt and beam. he smiles back before placing a gentle peck to your lips. you trace the droplets of water trickling down matts chest with your finger as he continues to wash the rest of your body. “ok now rinse.” you step back under the shower head as matt reaches for the shampoo and conditioner. he shakes the bottle and squeezes the shampoo into his hands. you turn again, giving him easier access to your scalp. he unhurriedly and softly runs his fingers through your hair allowing the shampoo to sit for a bit. you feel his warm, gentle breaths on your neck and exhale. “feel good?” matt whispers. “mhm” he carefully rotates you and places you back under the water, rinsing your hair. “ok last step” he mumbles as he spreads the conditioner all over his hands. he fondles with the ends of your hair and squeezes the water out after rinsing. “all done” he smiles.

you step a bit closer, wrapping your arms around matts waist, and resting your cheek on his chest. his finger traces the small of your back before his arms envelop your middle. you both stay like that for a bit before breaking apart. matt plants a loving kiss to your forehead and jaw. “ok lemme do you now!” you voice excitedly. you allow matt a turn to relax under the warm water as you squeeze excess soap from the loofah onto his shoulders. you knead his neck and back. “a little higher.” he suggests. you hands advance up to massage his shoulder blades. “thank you. this feels amazing.” he mumbles as his eyes close and his head tilts downward. “of course” you chuckle back. you proceed to lave matts body, as he did to yours, every once in a while placing light kisses on his shoulder blades and the nape of his neck.

matt steps out, drying his hair before wrapping his towel around his waist, and handing you yours. you and matt share the sink. you watch the mirror as you brush your hair and matt begins to shave his face. “you’re so pretty.” matt softly murmurs. “thank you” you reply in a warm tone. matt playfully pulls you in by the waist. “matt no! your face! ” you fight his yank, turning your head in both directions repeatedly. he leans in rubbing his cheek all over yours, smearing shaving cream all over your face. you throw your head back and laugh before he releases you and titter as you lightly nudge matt with your shoulder.
