Ok can i be completely honest right now? This fandom has a huge issue. A huge whitewashing issue.

Now before you say: "Oh but legos dont have races! Thats why theyre yellow!!" You dont only need skin color to imply a characters ethnic background. You can also do that with the characters other features like hair, eyes, lips or even stuff like their name. And thats exactly what dreamzzz does.

The most common characters i see whitewashed are Zoey and Logan. I absolutely NEVER see Zoey drawn black, even tho 1. She has twists (which some people draw them as just a side shave) and 2. Her last name is Okoro, indicating she could be igbo.

As with Logan it goes a bit deeper than that. As the issue takes two forms: 1. When its him being drawn white and 2. When its him being drawn asian, but extremely pale.

First, him being drawn white is obviously an issue because he is canonically asian. His last name is Chan (a surname with chinese origin), he is voiced by Vincent Tong and he is designed to look visibly asian.

(And before anyone says its eyeliner i found another character with the exact same eye print)

People often draw him slightly tan with eurocentric features and call him asian. Who the fuck are you deceiving.

Now with the pale issue: this is also an issue i see around in the ninjago fandom. East asian characters liked by the fandom are drawn to appeal to the beauty standards while the ones hated by the fandom are drawn like actual east asian people. Altough Logan is the only east asian character in the show that we currently know of, this does apply to him. And him being pale wouldnt even make sense! He is a soccer and baseball player! That kid plays in the sun for hours!

And Logan isnt even the only asian character that constantly gets whitewashed. Take a look at fanart of Nova! If i didnt tell you, you probaly wouldnt even know shes south asian! In her insomniac club shorts its revealed her last name is Patel, an indian surname btw, yet i dont see ANYONE give a fuck cause i only see white Nova everywhere.

And yes! Mateo and Izzy are also victims of this aswell! Mateo's locs are never drawn right and i see people draw him like 1 shade darker than the others and call him black 😭. Izzie is white washed aswell and sometimes, only her and NOT MATEO?? HUH??? They are siblings 😭😭

Anyways, the moment the fandom actually learns how to depict the characters, we will finally be free.

my #1 desire for season 2 of lego dreamzzz is honestly to see where they go with the fact nova knows what she knows now. like. when you've been seeking answers for what's been causing your extreme, repeated nightmares that you are SHARING WITH OTHER PEOPLE only to find out that a) said nightmares can totally cross realities into the waking world and b) you have classmates who know way more and were actively withholding the reason you were suffering from you, but you also can't really hate them entirely because they did stop said nightmares from causing havoc in the waking realm

My lego friends full name headcanons part 1

These are what I headcanon the lego friends characters full names to be, based off some other posts where they show what they think the lego friends last names are, but this time full names (+ details about it, also, the full names for characters from the original and still here will all apply to the original, girls on a mission and next chapter canons in my headcanon)

Original 5 girls:

Olivia Victoria Castillo-Flores

• I liked the idea of making Olivia have a double-barreled last name from the original post so I decided to do so for mine but put 2 different last names, and i might’ve gotten Castillo from Mrs. Castillo from dreamzzz, and I just like how her name sounds, also, I think she is Hispanic in all canons but is a much lighter skinned Latina in the classic series

Emma Louise Parker

• Louise is actually Emma’s canon middle name in the original show as she says it in the episode, snow way

Cassandra Andrea Jackson

• definitely a Michael Jackson reference

Mia Camille Smith

• originally I thought of her middle name as Claire and last name as Thomas but i thought that what I actually went with sounded much better, also, ninjago reference with me choosing Camille as her middle name

Stephanie Alice Thompson

• her mom’s name is Alicia, so I think Alice is a pretty close name for her middle name

• her middle name was a bit hard to come up with but I felt like aurora works pretty well

• I thought what if autumn was just a nickname and middle name since her hair looks like the leaves in the fall, and also because I thought Sabrina was a cute name choice

• I think that Leo would have a long full name (as well as some other characters), I might’ve gotten the idea for Mateo from dreamzzz

Liann Marie Chen

• i originally wanted her middle name to be Ann but that would just not work as well, and I definitely got the idea for Chen from ninjago and it’s a pretty common Chinese last name, so I think it works and her voice actress’ last name is Chen as well

Nova Ella Bailey

• it was hard for me to come up with a good full name for nova, but compared to autumn, I kept nova as her first name

Oliver James Simmons

• Olly’s full first and middle name is a reference to 2 actors in Harry Potter, and I also like how his full name sounds

Audrey Paisley Roberts

• I also thought of paisley’s name being her middle name like with Andrea and autumn

Zachary Jeffrey DuPont

• Zac’s full name is actually Zachary in the show and I liked the idea of DuPont for a French last name

Lego dreamzzz Crack theory. "Dream crafting is contagious".

Now hear me out. In the first episode, the mummy thing was running from the grim spawn, and in the backround, we see Mateo, Izzy, and Cooper. We know that Mateo and Cooper saw at least some of the mummy's dream crafting during the fight and the mummy escape to the waking world through Mateo. From there, Izzy got infected from Mateo, and after Izzy and Mateo saved Cooper, they met Logan in the waking world, which is how he got infected, too. Now, what about Mr Oz? You might ask, well, he would have been infected a long time ago, and with most viruses, you are only contagious during the time the symptoms are present/when you catch it, which is at least 2 weeks. from there, they infect the rest of the school. Starting with nova because of close proximity in the dream realm. Zoey is an outlire because we don't know when she was infected.

Episode 11

The gold armory looks nice. But, Dreamzzz really has a habit of starting episodes randomly. For a split second I thought it was like.. episode12. Not 11. I thought I skipped something-

Inspector being worried-

Old men bantering. Always fun to watch.

For once, Royce said something right. How did you not notice Mateo wasn't the real Mateo!! Still confused of how it works

Oh cool. The Never Witch has her own special edition of barbie's dream house

Dressing for the occasion? Heck yeah! Whooo (the colors look a bit brighter or... some like that in this season. Is it just me?)

Also, Madeo. Your mom is weird. Stay safe. I mean.. seriously. Why does she love dates so much

Honestly- the crow with the house.. was kind of disappointing. The crow looks so... dull. The lego set makes it look SO cool

Astrid and Logan are so frickin cute

Oh... so they aren't trapped forever. Only while they're dreaming...(why is he repeating so much?)

Crosshatch technique?? What's that- I want to know

Cooper is being creative people!! (Wich is a good thing. Yes. Improvement! But... already? I mean.. it's technically the middle of the second season. But if they keep releasing it half and half... it feels like they're two different seasons. Which brings my brain to believe, "how is Cooper getting his character arc during the very beginning and he barely shows up afterwards??" So... yeah. That's kind of a problem for me..)

Cooper's favorite animal is geese! Ah- he's getting more creative!! Look at him! LOOK AT HIMMMM (I'm very normal. Don't worry)

Nova and Sneak is back!! (And they seem to be getting more spotlight and story?? Omg- yes)

The incursion(Bernie) is adorable. Absolutely ADORABLE!!

The repeating stuff is getting annoying already-

Logan has a lot of middle names-(but his real one is Nico apperantly? Nico?? For real??)

Astrid looks like she's going to be apart of the story(big time) too

She did indeed. And it made a wonderful, beautiful sight(I'm sorry Coops. But it has a lot of potential and I love this concept. You go boy!)(and if he said that, there's a opportunity that he can do tech stuff now. But he just hasn't tried it yet)

Too bad we don't know what qualities the Witch took from them to make the clones...

Okay- lots of hands out of the cauldron. Creepy kinda-(the rhymes are still so amazing-)

Whoa- those neon signs have a lot of energy

Sick- look at them. The matching colors make them look like a real team

And Astrid doesn't get one because... she ain't one of the original dream chasers we know. We need to keep a line between it^^

The Bunchu's and the hammer- the hammers! The hammer is so pretty! I want that- so bad

And Dizzy.

Bogan is big for some reason. Okay-

And Madteo! Good to see you again.(also, those pencil ninja stars are cool. Kind of creepy looking tho)

The guardian looks so- squishy. I like it

Also the smashing two together- lol okay

So.. the Never Witch causes chaos, waits till the Guardian wakes up. Then stabs them in the heart to dome the realm. Okay... okay, cool.

Mrs.C: "That is one mangy-looking gato"

Um.. nope. Nothing wrong with him

Seriously, mrs.C is really cool. She's the best adult here

That guardian has a wonderful face. Darn cute adorable face

Um... yeah. More repeating sentences. Even I'm going to memorise them at this point...

And there you have it. Nova and Sneak are officially dream chasers now!

So... it escalated a bit. And the story went by way too fast for my taste. But a lot of new things and facts... it's a pretty nice start I think

Episode 12

"Let's turn up the heat"

It rhymes too! (Also, that 'dressing for the occasion' thing? Really paid off. She looks hot. Like... what?!??)

"Ah yes.. let's have dessert before dinner tonight"

Yup. Here we have a single mother with a bunch of strange pets, and her five children

Cooper can drive(pilot?) again! Yay~ and I seriously love how he refers to all vehicles with pet names. Like 'sweetheart' or 'baby'

"I wonder what's in his fridge"

Hm. Now I'm curious too

Oh- it's on autopilot. Well- Cooper still gets to be the one behind the wheels in case something goes wrong. That's something!

So this is dream space. And it's nice to know that the fact Mr. Oz wanted to be an astronaut when he was younger is still a thing and not just a one time mention thing that gets scraped

Izz- take Astrid everywhere!

And here we are! Mr. Oswald's landin-Whoa- that looks amazing... I wish that came out as a set too- but. I guess nows not a good time for that.

Anyways, what is that asteroid centipede thing! Uggghhhhh I don't like it already...(not a fan of bugs. At all)

That dreamling is going to get kicked off soon.

But she is doing a lot of stuff- she just said hot. As in- that kind of hot? ...really? Am I just stupid or did she really use that word that way?
