~ Epilogue ~

I apologize in advance for any spelling or grammar mistakes and how poorly written this fanfic is. English is not my first language and together with my dyslexia ass things can go wrong I'm sorry.

With a loud gasp, I sat up straight, frantically looking around. I didn't really recognize the room I was in. 

What happened? 

There was a throbbing pain in my head like someone had hit me with a hammer. I almost jumped to the other side of the room when I felt something move behind me. When I turned around I was met with a sleeping Hyun-su. 

It looked like he held me when I was asleep, but how did we get here? Trying to think back I closed my eyes before putting the palm of my hands against them. 

Think, think, think. 

Oh god.. 

Everything came back to me. 

Yi-kyung, Eun-yu telling me about everyone who died, Ji-su.. 

That girl, she made me turn. 

Oh no, I attacked them. 

I think I did. 

There are flashes of me hurting them. I opened my eyes and looked down at Hyun-su's stomach. His hoodie was ripped where I stabbed him and there was fresh blood there as well. Upon closer inspection of my hands, I noticed dried blood on them as well. 

I really hurt them, but it wasn't me or fully me. That was my monster self. I was stuck in a dream. I knew something was wrong. It was all too good to be true. 

I moved away from the bed we were lying on when I heard Hyun-su groan. I observed him sitting up and moving his head from side to side to stretch his neck. Something felt wrong in the way he moved. 

It was Hyun-su in front of me, but it didn't feel like him. 

"Hyun-su?" 

For a few seconds, he was just sitting there looking down. But the moment he looked up my eyes widened.

Blue. 

His eyes were an electric blue, not a warm brown, but an icy blue. Without even noticing I took a step back when he stood up. 

This whole time he was just looking at me without doing anything. 

Footsteps came from behind me, but I didn't look away from him. I knew that Hyun-su wouldn't hurt me, but I had no idea what was happening to him right now. 

"Mi-na." I hear Eun-yu say from behind me before walking inside. 

"Hyu..." She quickly stopped when she also saw the blue in his eyes. Without wasting any more time she grabbed a steal pipe that was lying on the side. 

"Bring him back. Bring Hyun-su back." 

I don't know what she was talking about. This is Hyun-su, right? Everything about him is the same except his eyes. 

"He's hurt you know. Let him rest for a bit." 

The blue-eyed Hyun-su spoke. 

"I only came to help him because the pain was killing him. So don't be like that." 

That's when it hit me. 

This is his monster version. 

The monster that was inside his head was taking over his body. This monster version of Hyun-su didn't sit right. It felt like he could do something unexpected every second now. I know that I would be fine, but would Eun-yu be? 

Would this version of Hyun-su also not hurt her? 

I closely observe his every move with sharpened eyes. Making sure to be ready if he would do something and to get Eun-yu out of here as fast as possible.

 Blue-eyed Hyun-su walked to the mirror pulling his sweater down at his shoulder, revealing the open wounds that had health yet. His eyes went back to us before speaking up again. 

"This is all your people's fault, you know." His wounds slowly started the heal while he kept his cold gaze at us. While mostly on Eun-yu. 

Letting go of his sweater he began to make his way towards us. Which made me pull Eun-yu back before the saying. 

"Eun-yu go." 

"What? No!" 

Not taking my eyes off Hyun-su I grabbed the metal bar from her hands. 

"Go and find Chan-young and stay with him until I'm done." My voice was cold hoping she would listen to me. 

"No! Yo-" 

Without letting her finish her sentence I pushed her outside closing the door behind her. To make sure she couldn't come in and Hyun-su couldn't get out if all of this went down badly for me I used the metal pipe and wrapped it around the door handles using my strength. 

Eun-yu looked shocked and a little hurt, but I needed her out of here for her safety. This isn't the normal Hyun-su and I don't know what he's planning. 

"Go." 

Eun-yu's eyes moved behind me probably to Hyun-su before she started to run away. 

"I thought you would have more trust in me." 

Turing around I let out a scoff. 

"I trust Hyun-su. It's you I don't trust." 

letting out a little laugh he came closer making me move with him so he couldn't circle me. 

"I thought that Hyun-su was in control." 

Like a lion keeping his eyes on his prey, ready to jump, his gaze never left me. 

"I'm also Cha Hyun-su." I shook my head. 

"No, you're his monster. I need the real Hyun-su." 

"We agreed to help each other out. I can't exactly have Cha Hyun-su dying on me, you know." 

Good for him I guess but I still need Hyun-su back. I don't trust his monster side. 

"He won't die. I'll make sure of that. Now, why don't you just leave him alone?" 

He smirks stepping closer to me, but I just stood my ground. 

"You mean it? Are you sure that's what you want? Are you sure you would be okay with just a weak Cha Hyun-su?" 

Weak? 

Hyun-su isn't weak and he never was. Even before all of this went down he survived worse things. 

"Yes," I spoke up taking a step forward. 

"You're saying he's weak, but to me, it's you who's weak." 

He raised an eyebrow looking surprised. 

"Yeah, why would you think that?" 

I took another step forward not looking away from his blue eyes. 

"Like you said he can't go dying on you. That means you need him to survive, to exist. He doesn't need you to survive." 

This made the stupid smirk vanish from his face before he spoke again. 

"He's weak without m..." 

"No. You are the weak one." I cut him off before continuing. 

"Before you came. Before you even existed he survived without you. He went through hell and back before you ever even popped up inside his head. Everything he went through before you came made him stronger than you will ever be." Slowly I got closer and closer to him not being scared of him one bit. 

He is Hyun-su's monster so I know he won't hurt me. He may act cold, but I know that Hyun-su wouldn't hurt me so his monster wouldn't either. 

"As I see it if he dies you die with him, but if you would disappear Hyun-su will live on without a problem. So tell me who's the weak one, huh?" 

He didn't answer me. 

All he did was study my face with no emotion on his. 

"Admit it. You're the one who needs him. You're just a parasite that needs the host to survive." To my surprise, he moved closer to me. We were already close to each other because of me, but now our faces were almost touching. 

He didn't say anything he only bent closer to me while looking into my eyes. 

"What are you doing?" I asked confused by his actions.

"Don't know." He simply answers with a smirk on his lips. 

"What should we do? What do you want to do?" He asked moving even closer.

Even if it's most likely that Ji-su's rumored return in season 3 gonna be the same unique case as Eun-hyeok (died when they're already infected [her being heavily hinted in episode 2x03], thus being reborn from the cocoon), I don't think Ji-su herself want to go back to the living world

Like, let my girl rested with her boyfriend and her new crush in the afterlife. Have you not seen how Yi-kyung suffered even more after being resurrected into monster by her daughter?

This ending broke me in the best way possible, maybe it's not the most complex or most developed story but it definitely is one that enters the heart and squeezes it in the best ways, this is how you do an ending, even if some things are left unresolved whatever if you can make an ending that makes the reader feel satisfied and literally ugly crying with the characters, a must read and a MUST REREAD.

~ Chapter 15 ~

The sound of banging woke me up from my slight slumber. I jumped up ready to fight whatever was trying to break in when I saw Eun-yu busy kicking the door again. 

"Eun-yu, stop you won't be able to break it down. They probably locked extra it anyway." I said with a sign at the end. 

 "The man is gone. I saw him walk away." She simply said not looking at me. 

"Why didn't you say anything?" 

She stopped before turning around. 

"You were asleep. I thought I would let you rest for a bit." 

I shook my head. 

"I'm fine don't worry about me now move so I can break down the door." She moved to the side letting me look at the door. 

I hope the man is far away because this will make some noise. Taking a step so I got some speed I wanted to start to run when I heard the door being unlocked. The door opened revealing the girl. 

"What are you doing? Are you gonna follow my brother?"

"Is he your brother, dad, or boss? Pick a lane." Eun-yu said walking to my side. 

The girl laughs leaning against the door. 

"He's my savior. Let's leave it at that." She said with a smile which made me uncomfortable. 

"So. Are you coming or not?" Without saying anything Eun-yu began to walk out. 

"Wait!" I grabbed her wrist stopping her. 

"You can't leave him here." I pointed at Chan-young who was still asleep on the floor. 

"He can find his own way home," Eun-yu answered trying to walk away again, but I held my wrist firmly in my grip. 

"Eun-yu are you for real? He only wanted to help you." Eun-yu pulled her wrist away before saying. 

"If you want to say thank you to him why won't you take him home?" With that, she walked away leaving me behind. 

I let out a sigh and watched her walk away. 

"I swear the leash is getting closer and closer. I turned back around to Chan-young and saw that the girl was already at his side. 

"Hey! Can't you just leave him alone for five minutes?" 

The girl looked up with a smile. 

"Don't you need to follow her? I'll take good care of him when you are gone." 

Ugh... 

I don't want to leave him here with her, but I also don't want to lose Eun-yu again. 

"You!" 

The girl looked up unfazed by my cold tone. 

"If you hurt him in any way I will hurt you ten times worse got it!" She looked shocked for a second, but still managed to nod her head.

 Good. 

Without waiting any longer I began to run after Eun-yu. This girl is way too fast for her own good. Why can't she just slow down for a bit? I don't think she wants to go back to the shelter. I think she wants to find Eun-hyuk, but she has been trying to find him for months now. 

Why is she so in a hurry now? 

When I finally found her she was standing in the street looking down. 

"Eun-yu. Can you just wait for a second!" 

She let out a sigh. 

"You either help me find my brother or go back to wherever you were the last few months." Grabbing her wrist again I made her stop. 

"What do you think I have been doing all this time?! I have been looking for him ever since I woke up!" I didn't mean to yell at her, but this was all just too frustrating. 

"I told you I would look for him." 

And I have been for a long time, but there is no trace of him. Not in the Green Home ruins or around it. 

"And did you find something?" She asked with a hopeful look on her face, but that quickly washed away when I shook my head. 

"No, no trace of him at all." 

I wish I could tell her better news, but I don't have any. She deserves to know what happened to her brother. 

"Maybe he escaped the building collapsing and transformed somewhere else." I shrug my shoulders looking around. 

"Maybe. All I know is that if he wants to be found I would have found him by now." She slowly nodded knowing that I was right. 

"Or maybe I already did." A confused look came on her face. 

"What do you mean?" Letting go of her wrist I let out a deep breath. 

"A few months after I last saw you I got attacked by a monster and got hurt. Badly hurt. Someone attacked the monster and brought me to my shelter and patched up my wounds." I explained to her. 

"Nobody knows where I live and nobody random would just save me from a monster risking their own life. Ever since then, the person has been leaving me supplies at my place." 

She was silent for a second before speaking up. 

"You're not the only one." 

Now it was my turn to look confused. 

"Someone has been saving me when I get into trouble. I first thought it was you when I saw you standing there at the end of the rope, but when I heard you say this I think it was the same person." 

Someone has been taking care of us. 

"I mean I have been following you around to make sure you were okay and got home safely. But there was never any danger around." I admitted looking down. 

"Why didn't you show yourself?" 

"I thought you would be mad because I abandoned you when I promised I would be there. And not only you. I abandoned the kids and Ji-su as well. I can only imagine how she is feeling right now." 

A look of hurt washed over Eun-yu's face when I was done speaking. 

"Mi-na Ji..." She was cut off when we heard a loud groaning sound coming from further down the road making us both look at it. 

"What if it's him?" 

I look back at her confused. 

Does she really think this is Eun-hyuk? I get that she wants to find her brother but thinks that it's him is a big stretch. 

"No Eun-yu it.." Before I could finish she was already walking away. 

"Leash, leash I need to get that leash," I mutter following her. 

We came to an open area with a sinkhole on our side. 

"It's probably just a monster Eun-yu nothing special," I said when we didn't hear any more sounds for a while. 

Another groaning sound came from the sinkhole making us both look at it. Eun-yu began to walk to it gripping the pip she had found on the ground tightly. 

"It's probably a monster. Just stop. It won't attack you if you just leave it alone. Why are you looking for trouble?" I asked walking behind her. 

"If we are in trouble the person will come and help us. Maybe this time we can see who it is seeing we are with two this time." She explains walking closer. 

"Don't you think they know I will save you when I'm here with you?" She stopped and looked at me. 

"Do you really think my brother would let you get hurt even if you are a monster?" She said, looking me right in the eyes. 

"We don't even know if it's him," I answer back. 

"That's why we need to do this." She walked to the edge trying to look down. 

"I get that but hurting and monster who has done nothing wrong is not right." Ignoring me she lifted the pip ready to hit whatever was down there. 

A big part of me wanted to stop her, but a smaller more selfish part wanted her to hurt the monster so it would attack us and we could see who had been helping us all this time. 

"He won't attack you." We both spun around when we heard a girl speak up. Her clothes were dirty with here and there some blood. 

I took a step closer to Eun-yu feeling that she was a monster just like me. I don't know why, but I could sense it. 

"I'm looking for Yi-kyung. You know where she is, right?" Eun-yu spoke up like she knew this kid surprising me completely with not only that, but also saying Yi-kyung's name. I thought she had joined the military. 

"Yi-kyung Unnie? What are you talking about?" I asked Eun-yu trying to make sense of all of this. 

But she just ignored me and kept on talking to the girl. 

"I have to meet her." Eun-yu continued. 

The girl kept on walking closer before speaking again. 

"Mom. The people," 

Hold up, mom? Did she just call Yi-kyung's mom? I'm sure Yi-kyung didn't have a kid. How would this even be possible? 

"Did you say, mom?" Eun-yu was just as confused as I was. 

We were so shocked and confused that I didn't have time to react when the girls said. 

"You're no different." To Eun-yu and pushed her into the sinkhole.
