Masked Stranger
The sound of a finely tuned engine stopped everyone in their tracks as they headed towards the school building.
Caroline Forbes gave a cat-like smile. "Well, that's quite the car."
"Quite a Porsche." Y/N corrected her. "Specifically, a black 911 turbo."
Caroline shot him an annoyed look. Caroline hated his sister, Elena, and by association, she hated him too. More specifically, he rejected her freshman year of school and she never forgave him for that humiliating display.
The black turbo moved around the parking lot until it found an empty space and parked. When the driver got out of the car, the girls of Robert E. Lee high school gasped and Y/N's pretty sure he did too.
"Oh my God." Caroline breathed.
"You can say that again." One of Elena's best friends, Bonnie McCullough said.
Y/N tried not to stare at the driver. He was lean and muscular, but not too muscular like a football player. He wore faded jeans and a tight green T-shirt that complemented his leather jacket and dark wavy curls. He was tall. Tall, dark, and handsome.
Beside him, Elena let out a gasp as she has that look in her eyes. The look that says 'this boy will be hers. You can count on it.'
"Who is that masked man?" Meredith Sulez asked. The boy wore sunglasses over his eyes, despite it being a cloudy morning.
The young man locked his car as he headed towards the building, not paying any attention to anyone else until he stopped right in between Y/N and Elena. Almost like some had glued his feet to this exact spot. Of course he would stop to take a gander at his sister. She was the queen of the school. Guys wanted her. Girls wanted to be her. It was just the universe working itself into another Elena love frenzy.
Elena smiled and pulled the rose colored ribbon out of her long and pale blonde hair as she gave the mask stranger a flirty look. It always works on guys, so Y/N shouldn't be surprised that this guy would fall for it as well. Though, in an unexpected turn of events, the young man pushed past them and ascended the stairs, but not before turning to Y/N and smiling at him. One that was bright and brilliant.
Y/N flushed and looked down at his feet, but when he looked up, he was gone.
Elena looked so shocked that a guy would ignore her. She looks at Y/N, who looks anywhere but her. Caroline smirks. "Things just got a whole lot more interesting."

Disney Branded Television Orders "Vampirina" Live-Action Series As Part Of Ayo Davis Strategy To Refresh Disney's Multi-Cam Sitcoms
Today, Disney Branded Television announced series greenlights for “How We Became the Biggest Band in the World” and “Vampirina” (both working titles), two music-driven, live-action comedies slated to premiere next year on Disney Channel and Disney+ as a way to refresh Disney Branded Television's multi-cam sitcoms who started with Wizards Beyond Waverly Place and Alice In The Palace.
Vampirina which is inspired on Disney Junior's series of the same name becomes the first Disney Jr. property to be getting a live action remake
“Vampirina” (Working Title) “Vampirina” (working title) follows a tween vampire girl who leaves the safety of Transylvania to attend a performing arts boarding school. Living amongst humans for the first time, she pursues her passion for music while keeping her vampire secret, something that’s made more challenging when her overprotective father charges an overzealous ghost to live with her at the school. The series is based on the books written by Anne Marie Pace and illustrated by LeUyen Pham, and inspired by the Disney Jr. animated series “Vampirina” from Chris Nee. The series stars newcomer Kenzi Richardson as Vee, Jiwon Lee (“Rise Up, Sing Out”) as Sophie, Shaun Dixon (“The Neighborhood”) as Elijah, Milo Maharlika (“Les Miserables” Broadway National Tour) as Demi and newcomer Faith Hedley as Britney. Randi Barnes serves as showrunner and executive producer. Tim Federle and Bronwyn North-Reist are executive producers. Kimberly McCullough directed and executive produced the pilot.

“‘How We Became the Biggest Band in the World’ and ‘Vampirina’ are two standout additions to Disney Channel’s comedy slate,” said Ayo Davis, president, Disney Branded Television. “Both new series are full of all the elements we know our young audiences love: relatable, aspirational characters, upbeat music and plenty of laughter, friendship and heart.”

Have you read the vampire diaries books? And if you have what do you feel about the changes they made when making the show?
sadly I won’t be able to answer this very well considering im only on the 5th book in the series and I love it so much haha
I wasn’t a super fan before the show came out and i watched the show before then I read the books so I don’t have much of an opinion on it, im not like “omg why is the town called mystic falls and not fells church?!” but because I watched the show before reading the books im was more like: “omg that’s weird that it’s called fells church and not mystic falls” haha
it was also weird to me when I read the high school name, “Robert E. Lee High School” EHH? it’s not Timberwolves?! 😭
also can we talk about how Meredith wasn’t an actual character in the show??! it’s Elena, Bonnie and Caroline Not Elena, Bonnie and Meredith?! I love her character in the books and it would’ve been so cool to see Meredith in the show too!!
I find the last names weird too:
- Vickie Bennett?
- Bonnie McCullough?
- Matt Honeycutt?
- Tyler Smallwood?
why did the writers change their names in the show?
elena having a little baby sister called Margaret and an aunt called aunt Judith? 😭
Matt and Vicki not being siblings in the books 🤷‍♀️ also I love. Matts character they definitely should’ve developed it more in the show fr
the writers also changed the fact Stefan and Damon can transform with their vampire powers, like Damon is a crow (but then they got rid of that after the pilot?) and stefans an eagle? or some sort of dog? I can’t remember lol but they took that out? also I was thrown off by Stefans appearance in the books, it’s so different to the show “curly black hair, and deep green eyes, and he was originally born in Italy in the year 1490 but they changed his origin in the show to mystic falls 1846.
elenas angel white power, she should’ve stuck with it in the show but they turned her into a damsel in distress icl 🤷‍♀️
The vampiric and witch power to send thoughts to eachother, like a calling power or something? That would’ve been cool to keep ln the show.
Mrs. flowers (the witch who owns the boarding house in fells church) instead she’s just a bed in breakfast hotel owner in the show, but to be fair I think I like the idea better of the salvatores owning the boarding house.
+ im only on book 5 and Damon and Bonnie have kissed a few times and I think Damon has a soft spot for her so I hope they get together (I heard they do but still, wishful thinking 🤪)
also im hating the malach right now and Shinichi or whatever so im glad that doesn’t happen in the show 😭
+ HEAVY on the anger I feel because they didn’t add Meredith to the show 🤨
Also can i politely ask that no one gives any spoilers to the books? Im still reading it. Thank you 🩷

Don't worry, as someone who's all over the place, I got you!
30. How many books do you have on your 'currently-reading' list?
Ugh, let's see. This will be helpful for me as well!
There's:
Plato's Symposium (though I'll most likely finish that today or tomorrow)
The Last Nights of Ventôse by Stanisława Przybyszewska (big thank you to @hhorror-vacuii for the English translation!)
Hilary Mantel's A Place of Greater Safety (I'm quite far into it but I've been sort of savouring it? Idk even)
Ruth Scurr's Maximilien Robespierre: Fatal Purity (I've made a commitment that I WILL see it through!)
Also on the list (though I've only leafed through them at this point so I'm not sure if it counts, but they are next in line!)
5. Machiavelli's The Prince 6. Suetonius' The Twelve Caesars (not just for the memes, I promise)
7. Cormac McCarthy Blood Meridian 8. need to get into Colleen Mccullough as well at some point 9. Robert Darnton has published a book about the French Revolution apparently? The Revolutionary Temper: Paris 1748 - 1789. Also need to get my hands on it! 10. Tanith Lee's The Gods Are Thirsty because I require a Camille-centred book in my life.
oh, and I need to read Marat/Sade before I see it on Tuesday. Apparently it's a good idea to do it in order to get what's going on on the stage?
So we're looking at at least four that I'm actually currently reading, and at least seven others that I'm dying to read. Hope this helps OP :'D
@18thcenturythirsttrap would love to hear about yours TBR pile as well!

Note
What are some of your favorite books that are not VC?
To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee
A Walk in the Woods, Notes From a Small Island, In a Sunburned Country by Bill Bryson
On Writing: A Memoir of the Craft by Stephen King
White Oleander by Janet Finch
The First Man in Rome by Colleen McCullough
The Persian Boy by Mary Renault
The Man Who Smiled, One Step Behind, Sidetracked by Henning Mankell
The Other Boleyn Girl by Philippa Gregory
The Heroin Diaries: A Year in the Life of a Shattered Rock Star by Nikki Sixx
Okay that's enough LOL but these, along with VC, were some of my favorites almost twenty years ago and I'm sure they will continue to be some of my favorites almost years from now. 🖤
