Getting a handmade Etsy business off the ground has not been an easy task. It has taken years of hard work, sacrifice, and dedication. I kind of relate it to pregnancy, labor and delivery and the first 5 years of a child's life, all rolled into one. There have been MANY days when throwing in the towel and getting a 9-5 seemed like the best option especially when life as I had known it, was falling apart around me. I can't honestly tell you what made towel throwing not an option. I know it wasn't my belief in myself, ability to run a business, or my art. Those things were developed on the way. I do know what helped to hold on (at times by a towel thread)...the love for what I do, the people I do it for, and words like these. Not everyone will appreciate you and what you do but when one does and takes the time to express it, it feels like a great big giant hug and a "job well done".
