supposed to be nearly a hundred degrees tomorrow so I will simply be bursting into flames I guess

#my apartment is regularly 10-15 degrees hotter than outside in the evenings thanks to the direction my windows face #and yes I have blackout curtains but they don't do that much against like 6 hours of direct sunlight #and I am explicitly forbidden in my lease from having AC due to the ancient building and it ancient wiring #like. my heat intolerant ass is just gonna fucking combust

#highlights:#entire colony of bedbugs in the walls #someone keeps lighting garbage on fire in the elevator and sending it to the first floor #the maintenance guy fixed the issue then proceeded to try kissing them full on the mouth #unable to reach a leasing agent because someone was knife-murdered just outside the building that same week

Today was my first day in charge of our other office, it’s just me and one other person, it was boring and a bit confusing because it’s basically the backrooms and one of my routes takes me through a block’s worth of cubicles and I hate all these office girlies staring at me because they really liked the guy that got fired and don’t know how to feel about me being just some young dyke, but it went well, I don’t think I’ll have any problems. Within a week I’ll get my routes down and then the only challenging part will be handling emails because these ppl are really spoiled and expect me to go way outside my job description but I can just forward to my manager and say “please help” at the end of the day. I think whoever designed this building tho should have been shot by firing squad having only a singular, small freight elevator is beyond stupid, and i hate navigating narrow hallways that go on forever im so afraid we’ll lose power and it will become house of leaves (corporate hq edition). Oh well at least i got a raise.

#I hate my company and our client company but they’re leasing the building so I can’t blame them for how it was designed #not that I’d expect much better from them #p

the absolute lack of awareness and consideration some people have continues to astound me. (personal life rant under the cut)

i live in an apartment complex with a neighbor across the breezeway who regularly plays music so loud i can make out THE WORDS in my own living room

and a downstairs neighbor with a sound system up against the wall so when they watch a movie it vibrates our floors despite us repeatedly going down to ask them to do something about it, be it adjust the bass or move the sound system or just simply turn it down a little (and every time they’re snippy with us about it)

and people who like to gather at the pool right across from our building and play loud music until past midnight ON WEEKNIGHTS

i’m all for people having fun in their homes and enjoying life and music and parties and whatever. but also it takes just a minute to consider that there are other people existing around you and be considerate of them

#tw rant #if you’re one of those people who takes calls on speaker in a public place this extends to you too #nobody wants to hear it #some people have too much main character energy #and it’s annoying to constantly be trying to be considerate of if i’m making too much noise and not get the same in return #especially if you’re my downstairs neighbor #and we have TALKED TO YOU MULTIPLE TIMES ABOUT IT #YOU KNOW ITS A PROBLEM SO NOW YOURE JUST BEING ASSHOLES #and we don’t wanna be those people always complaining so we never go to the front office about it #plus they always require proof and while you can FEEL the vibrations it doesn’t come across on video well #and we just re-signed our lease #Alexa play i hate it here by Taylor swift #i miss our old building it was so much quieter #but they just HAD to renovate so we HAD to move #ugh #anyways i’ll shut up now we’re going out so at least i can hope it will have stopped by the time we get home

this wip wednesday i bring you nothing. again

#taylor.txt #next week…? who knows #im almost done multiple very short fics but my brain feels stuck in a ditch lately #not exclusive to writing as it turns out. this weekend my goal is to do a big deep clean and hopefully that settles me #i think ive been carrying a lot of stress for most of this year because of my ongoing infestation and its starting to get to me lol #also the janitor of my building came in and sprayed pesticides again and he took out my kitchen drawers but didnt put them back. again #and moved my couch and put stuff on my counters on the table and yeah. thats not actually like allowed. per my lease #but its already such a fight just to get something done about it so. sigh #so yeah anyway the hope is that clean organized apartment = clean organized life = more brainpower for writing #will it happen that way? to be seen. but god i hope so because i feel crazy when i dont write for long periods #and with the roaches and everything i feel crazy anyway. also yes i’m planning to move but thats also a lot of brainpower i dont have rn lol

now that miss piss has been spayed hopefully she will stop marking in the office? drenched the carpet in enzymatic cleaner, it’s over the balcony railing to dry in the sun, had to move/mop everything in the office in three sections with the appropriate dwell time to let the enzymes work. there are muscles in my back i forgot about and only know they’re there bc they hurt. please clap.

#i used too much product and now i have to go over everything a third time but yanno. i can no longer smell pee.#hopefully that means it is actually gone #poor phil has been hanging out in my bathroom and is not happy about it #phil #she did get the side of my secretary desk :(#i don’t know what i want to Do with that room really #i am hesitant to build a big desk like i want bc i dont know if i will renew my lease yet #i don’t have a good idea of a better place to live and my bestie will not be moving soon #i like this apartment complex but i don’t like the lack of ventilation in here

Honestly now that I'm 27, I remember the fact that I moved in with my then-boyfriend (who I'd been dating for a year) at 22 and I'm like. Honestly full respect to my family for letting me do that without giving me any shit. It was kind of a dumbass thing to do and it Did blow up in my face, but they let me make my own mistakes & I'm honestly pretty grateful for that.

#speculation nation #and ykno what before it blew up in my face it was genuinely pretty nice #and most importantly i learned a lot about myself and how i live with a partner.#it was a learning experience! and i dont feel embarrassed for jumping into it. bc even then i knew it was kind of stupid.#but i accepted the risk & resolved to deal with it should it go wrong.#and when it did go wrong. well i dealt with it. i waited out that lease in possibly the most stifling living situation of my life #But I Did It. and ykno what i managed alright regardless.#idk now that im in my upper 20s im just like. 22 really is so young. and yeah i made my mistakes. but i learned from them.#sometimes u really just gotta let the youngsters make their mistakes. it builds character.#so im grateful i got to make my own mistake with that.

Wild to me that my graduate housing conditions led me to having:

Carbon monoxide poisoning

Black mold poisoning (the slightly less severe black mold)

From two separate places over 300 miles apart

#one was from an absent landlord (lived across the country and no lease agreement)#the other from a landlord who wanted to demolish the building #pay grad students more!!!!

#nearly got evicted. because of the previous leaseholder not transferring it or oaying the rent for this month even though I payed rent.#had to solve that. the roommate taking the lease is not very smart unfortunately and didn't think to check her phone for the building calls #then I go on a date and discover this girl already went with my ex and invited him to the same club she invited me to.#so now it's one of us and she's choosing and I'm just sitting here like. he's fucking everywhere. my penance for treating him like shit is.#i cannot avoid him anywhere I go. no matter how many of his mutuals i avoid his posts make their way to my dash.#everyone in this city either knows him or of him or is fucking/planning to fuck him apparently.#I feel foolish. And evil. And lost. I feel like I'm expected to inhabit the role of. Bad person. Abuser. forever.#I feel like I'm never learning the right lessons.#the eviction issue has been allegedly handled for today but Jesus fucking Christ. and my broken glasses cost me #$130 for an eye exam and i still haven't gotten frames. i still need a frying pan.#I'm rambling. I'm tired. my job cut my hours for july then this week I'm scheduled for more than usual.#i want to move out of this province. I'm considering deleting tumblr.
