All My Jewels
February 3, 2024 Day #34 of no weed. It was a good crutch for awhile, but now I know that I’ll never go back. All my most precious jewels are made of paper, not metal. You see, my hubby has this habit of making me a ring, out of straw wrappers every time we go out to eat. He’s done this for years, but it wasn’t until recently that I began to really appreciate it. It started with my nephew-…

Speed reading is the process of rapidly recognizing and absorbing phrases or sentences on a page all at once, rather than identifying individual words. The amount of information that we process seems to be growing by the day, whether it's emails, reports and websites at work, or social media, books and magazines at home. Homeopathy treatment for Learning disabilities in India.
Learning disabilities are common in children with Autism. A learning handicap affects one out of every 100 persons on average, but autism affects roughly 40 out of every 100 youngsters. This is a significant source of worry. The typical person's IQ is between 70 and 130. A learning disability may be diagnosed if an individual's IQ is less than 70. Of course, there are a variety of other elements that contribute to having a learning handicap, but it remains a problem.
Children with learning disabilities may find it difficult to keep control of their actions. This could lead to uncontrollable outbursts of powerful emotions like fury, sobbing, and so on.
Another prevalent indication of learning impairments is the difficulty to adjust to new surroundings or individuals. When children who are generally well-behaved and peaceful in a familiar environment or with familiar people are introduced to unfamiliar people or places, they become agitated and disoriented. Children with learning difficulties have a harder difficulty adapting and prefer to stay in the same areas.
Normal indicators of a learning disability include repeated behavior, harming themselves regularly (more frequently than other children), seizures, and so forth.
Everyone who is around a youngster with a learning handicap can provide positive encouragement and understanding.
Children with learning difficulties lose confidence and self-worth when they observe other children their age doing tasks that they are unable to achieve.
Those that engage with them must ensure that they receive the morale boost they require.
Aside from that, many persons with learning difficulties have benefited from homeopathy. It's safe, effective, and has no negative side effects. With the correct medication and peer support, even children with impairments can have full and happy lives.
One of the illnesses that inhibit youngsters from focusing and learning new things on their own is learning disabilities. Please contact us at Dr. A. M. Reddy Autism Center for more information about Learning Disability Treatment in India.

Can a Dyslexic be Helped... Ever?
Is your child dyslexic? There is a lot of talk these days about dyslexia, probably more than ever before. An evolution of the definition appears to have taken place, and this has caused confusion for many parents.
The Classic Dyslexic
The classic dyslexic as described in the original literature by people like Drs Adolph Kussmaul and Rudolf Berlin (who first used the word dyslexia to describe someone who, in his terms was "word blind") implied that the condition was genetic, and thereby incurable. Examples of such patients were not common, and they displayed an inability to recognise words, as well as the classic symptom of writing words in reverse.
The Modern Dyslexic
The problem is that, as the definition has morphed into pretty much any reading or writing difficulty, the assumption that the condition is incurable has not morphed in the same way. Dyslexia is now an extremely common diagnosis in some fields, and the problem is that many teachers, and parents, feel that it is a problem that nothing and no one will be able to help in any way.
Several innovations have attempted to help the child dyslexic, the most famous being coloured lenses (Irlen lenses). Less well known is the kind of treatments we offer in our practice, where we use conventional, clear lenses and innovative vision therapy to help dyslexic kids.
How Can We Help?
I'll e honest, I'm not a fan of labels, especially when they are applied to a child who has enough problems learning! I see their usefulness at times, but I would rather prescribe a solution than a label any day.
Vision is the dominant sense in the classroom, and so it makes sense to examine it closely. Almost every child with a learning problem can see the print, so clearly we are going to have to go beyond the current medical model of so-called 20/20 vision.
Just because a child can see the print, does not mean they can learn effectively! Chimpanzees can see the print, but they cannot read, so again we are going to have to do better than a traditional eye examination.
Behavioural optometry looks at far more than a child's ability to see, and we perform many complex tests looking at the child's eye teaming and focussing, and their ability to decode and process words on a page.
Using specialised lenses, we find we can often dramatically improve a child's focusing and concentration when it comes to reading and writing. But hey, concentration is only part of the solution, as any parent knows.
Vision Therapy to the Rescue
I have designed my own vision therapy course which trains the basic visual skills kids need when they learn. Glasses might help, but of the child is far behind we need to try something to catch them up fast.
Using our exclusive vision therapy course, many have seen not instant but sustained improvement in their children, whether they are dyslexic or carrying another label.
Why not have a look at our vision therapy here...
Or better still, call this number and make a time to come in for your BULK BILLED eye examination...

I had to include a self portrait as #101 for my book. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/willterry/little Many of you know that I struggled through school but what you don't know is that I never thought I would do anything beyond an unskilled manual labor job. Not that there's anything wrong with working a job like that but it was always pounded into my head that it was equal to giving up...underachieving. Coming out of high school left me broken - I just couldn't focus and today I would have been medicated. Think of that - medicated because the artist in me was fighting to get out. The creative side was hard at work taking my attention away from the things I wasn't good at and focusing my mind on the things that came naturally. I wonder how many of our children - your children - are being systematically discouraged from developing their natural and sometimes "unconventional" (yeah right) natural abilities? Sometimes I feel that it's unfair that I'm having so much fun with my career while so many like me still feel that they just aren't that smart - that's how I was made to feel - like I wasn't as valuable as those kids who could read, write, and solve math problems better than I could. I thank my mom and dad for encouraging my creative studies and career choice - without their support I have no idea how things would have turned out. Self esteem shouldn't be altered by our educational system which sifts for a few types of intelligences. I hope my story can help a few parents who have a "Will" in their family... #add #adhd #learning #learningproblems #creativity

It is a very common complaint people have, of not being able to finish answering the paper. A major cause of this is because reading comprehension take up a lot of their time. This might be a prequel to the previous point, but you need to manage your time efficiently and fix your strategy such that you need not rush through the last few questions. Reading of the passages should not take very long. Once you have glanced through the questions, you should be able to anticipate your answers and identify the important parts of the passage fairly quickly. This brings us to our next point: practice. Educate your youth on #cannabis 🍁 👉“If marijuana is legal it’s not bad for me.” Explain to your child that this isn’t necessarily true, that there are a number of substances that are legal such as alcohol, tobacco, and narcotics, but also potentially dangerous or even life threatening if used or ab (By Dr. Joan Simeo Munson) #IDEALME #parentcoach #mentalhealth #childpsychology #childpsychologist #confidence #selfconfidence #psychology #success #emotionalinteligence #teacher #principals #educators #leadership #prevention #earlyintervention #marihuanalegal #weed🍁 #worldsuicidepreventionday #parenting #parents #mentalhealthawareness #psychologicalassessments #psychoeducation #schoolproblems #learningproblems #learningdisabilities #giftededucation #counsiousparenting

🍁👉Here are more tips on how parents can deliver a clear message and set guidelines about marijuana: ✋Start Early: Teenagers who use marijuana often start by age 14. Parents should start the conversation about drugs by 4th or 5th grade. ✋Teach and Practice Skills to Refuse Drug Offers: Role play situations where your child is offered marijuana by a peer and help them find the right words to refuse the drugs offered. ✋Set Clear Guidelines: Communicate the importance of healthy behaviors and establish clear and specific rules about not using marijuana and other drugs. This can be part of a broader conversation about expectations for things like chores, bedtimes and curfews. ✋Keep Track of Your Child: Monitor your child’s behavior and remain actively involved in your child’s life. Get to know their friends and network with other parents to support one another to keep your children away from drugs. ✋Keep Lines of Communication Open: Participate in activities as a family such as dinners and fun outings and communicate with them the way they do. For example, send text messages, emails and be present on Facebook and Twitter. ✋Monitor your Own Behavior: You are a role model for your child so think about what you do and the message it sends to your teen. Avoid heavy drinking or drug use around your child. #IDEALME #parentcoach #mentalhealth #childpsychology #childpsychologist #confidence #selfconfidence #psychology #success #emotionalinteligence #teacher #principals #educators #leadership #prevention #earlyintervention #marihuanalegal #weed🍁 #worldsuicidepreventionday #parenting #parents #mentalhealthawareness #psychologicalassessments #psychoeducation #schoolproblems #learningproblems #learningdisabilities #giftededucation #counsiousparenting

Educate your youth on #cannabis 🍁 For younger children (elementary age), giving information on a need-to-know basis can be best. For older kids (middle school, high school age), helping sort fact from fiction about what marijuana is and what its effects are is useful. Your child may protest, stating that they “already know all about it”, but don’t let them off the hook that easily. Kids this age may think they already know all the facts based upon information passed through peer groups, but just as with sex and alcohol, many times their information is just false. Begin the conversation by asking, “Okay, so tell me what you know about marijuana”. Let your child talk, uninterrupted, until they tell you all they know. If some of their information is incorrect, before supplying them with the correct information, ask them the following questions: “I’m curious how you got that idea about marijuana?” “I hear you saying that marijuana isn’t that bad for you because John said it’s legal, but where do you think he’s getting that information?” “I know a lot of people think that marijuana isn’t as bad for you as alcohol but there’s a bit more to it than that. I think we should talk about it.” Your child may have some difficult questions for you about marijuana use and you should be prepared to answer them as honestly and intelligently as possible. Below are some possible comments/questions you may face and some responses you might find useful.
