Trying to Learn or Write Trigedasleng for Fanfic or Fun?
I have no idea who needs to hear this but - There are a lot of resources to learn the language out there. And despite the common thought that the language doesn't have a lot of words, or is not fully thought out, there is actually a very thorough breakdown of how Trigedasleng words are created. It's good to remember that any constructed language (conlang) is going to have a fully fleshed out system for it's linguistic structure or else it'd be near impossible to learn it with any level of accuracy or speak it with others. Here's a couple sources to help you on your way:
1. This is a magnificent resource, especially if you're just trying to see the scope of the language with its syntax rules, etc. "Trigedasleng Reference: Grammar and Lexicon" - https://dedalvs.com/work/the-100/trigedasleng_v5.pdf
2.This is the best way to learn the language, I think, as it teaches you the language the same way you'd learn any other language and each section breakdown has levels to master: https://app.memrise.com/course/5522455/trigedasleng/
3. My absolute favorite to use as a fanfiction writer who needs quick understandable explanations about the language and find multiple words that are both canonical and non canonical is this website, but it's unfortunately been down the last couple of days. Hopefully it's back up and running soon! https://trigedasleng.net/search/prince
As it's a conlang, the most important thing I would say to anyone is have fun and that’ll help you significantly figure out the best way to say what you want. Sometimes that'll be with a word that already exists in the lexicon, or it might be with a word that you create based on the rules of the lexicon.

bellamy blake x fem!reader
summary: you’re trying to learn words in trigedasleng (grounder language) and the cocky yet attractive man, bellamy blake, decides to help you
A/N- sorry that this is so short and sorry that i haven’t posted in so long
-
You were sat in the cafeteria in Arkadia with Octavia as you waited for Clarke and the others to get back: they were looking for a way to reduce the radiation that would lead to everyone’s deaths. With that in mind, you had decided to attempt to learn some Trigegasleng because, surely, it would be helpful in the near future. Octavia had- somehow- already became familiar with the language and it had proven to be useful.
On the Ark, you had learnt Spanish and French with ease (even though it has never come in handy) but you just couldn’t seem to adjust and appreciate the stems of the grounder’s language. You simply stared at the list of words that Octavia had written down for you and zoned out as you imagined how the mission was currently going.
You nervously bounced your leg as you dreamt of the worst possible outcomes: you had always been an over-thinker. It was one of your many flaws. Octavia glanced to you as she sensed that you were no longer focused on the words. “Y/N.”, she mumbled, hoping to disrupt your daydream. Snapping your head to the side slightly, you turned to look at her. You hummed in response. “Keep your mind on the words. They’ll be useful and they’ll also distract you from the- judging by the look on your face- bad thoughts in your head.”, Octavia assured. You nodded. “Thanks, I’ll try to be fluent by the time they come back, just so I can prove Bellamy wrong.”, you smiled in anticipation. Bellamy and you had a bet going- if you couldn’t learn the words Octavia had given you by the time of their arrival, you’d have to clean his room.
As if on cue, Bellamy casually stepped through the door and into the room.
“Bel!”, Octavia let out in relief. She gently ran up to him as they both wrapped their arms around each other. He then marched over to your table. “Hey, Y/N. How are you getting on with these words?”, he questioned with a smirk on his gorgeous face. “Well, um, I actually know them all. Don’t I, Octavia?”, you looked to her for confirmation as your cheeks blazed at the lie. She shook her head slightly and chuckled. “Yep, she knows them all off-by-heart.”
“Let’s test you, then.”, Bellamy offered as he took in your flushed cheeks. “Okay, translate this sentence: Yu are meizen.”, he stated. Octavia’s lips curled upwards as her eyes shone with a knowing glint. Cautiously, you took a careful peek at the list before Bellamy caught you and hastily snatched it away. “No cheating.”, he teased. You sat there as you were swallowed by your own silence due to your lack of knowledge.
“Guess you have to clean my room for a week.”, he joyfully trudged off, finally showing his exhaustion from his mission. Once he had left the room, you glanced at the piece of paper. After staring at the word for a moment too long, you couldn’t believe it- miezen meant pretty. Was Bellamy hitting on you for the whole time?
From beside you, Octavia stifled her laugh as she analysed your shocked state. “You read it right. He’s been secretly pining for you ever since we arrived on that drop ship.”, she confessed and, if it were possible, you felt your cheeks heat up to a frightening temperature.

continuing my last post, here are some spacekru moments i'd like to see flashbacks about (pushing for my spacekru spin off):
- murphy's coma. that must have been WILD and so scary since no one is medically trained. the GUILT that monty must have been feeling
- raven teaching emori about mechanic stuff. i can imagine raven was doing her usualt raven stuff and emori just kinda watched from afar, slowly coming closer each day til raven offered to teach emori some things. from there on they spent more and more time together, emori learning a lot
- emori and echo bonding over being grounders in space together. that must have been really difficult for them, never having been in space before and not knowing what to expect, missing earth so much
- spacekru finding booze. i know it happened, i know they cheered, i know they got drunk as hell
- i know this didn't happen (not as far as we know anyway) but murphy learning some medical stuff. he wants to be useful and knows the smallest bit of what he saw clarke and abby doing in the past, so he takes it up to organize the abandoned medbay and try to make something of it
- emori and echo learning to read and write. i'm kinda assuming here that grounders don't read or write, but i could be wrong. i'd really like to see them learn, probably raven and bellamy teaching them. hell, maybe murphy can learn some stuff too ("first son, first to dye")
- on a similar note, emori and echo teaching the others trigedasleng. a really nice exchange of knowledge and culture
- mourning clarke together. bellamy and raven ofc took it really hard, but the others were close with clarke as well or at least knew her good enough
- spacekru haircuts! they all got nice new hairstyles, i'd like to see how the haircuts went between them. maybe the first time they were still a bit wary around each other, feeling uncomfortable with another person coming close to them with scissors / a knife
- training with each other and teaching fighting styles. bellamy and harper can teach the rest how to use guns, while echo can show them how to use swords and a bow. i'm also really impressed by how raven won from echo in their little sparring match (even if echo let her win)
- the "rules" that they made. murphy mentioned they had "too many rules", so i'd like to know what they are. we already know the "time rule" aka not being allowed to mention how long they've been on the ring for, the punishment being a chore. murphy was one of the chores lmao (i'm laughing but that's sad tbh)
- emori and murphy's breakup of course. really want to know what exactly happened and how, since they both seemed to have different takes on it
- bellamy and echo slowly learning to trust each other. i still remember the "will we ever trust each other?" "probably not" (something like that) and BOOM 6 years later they're dating
- maybe a bit more about the ring itself? i'd like to know the layout and what kind of departments they have. the ring looks pretty big, but it seems like they didn't actually have many bedrooms. after murphy pushed emori away, raven says they were forced to bunk together. emori could have chosen a room for herself, but maybe there were just only very limited rooms, 5 or so? seems a bit strange to me for such a large spaceship
- i like to think they had weekly therapy talks, so i'd like to see more about them just being vulnerable with each other and learning their stories
- just more spacekru. i love them and miss them so much. please give us more content of them, literally anything
thanks for reading!

I never watched the 100, but I like conlangs and asoiaf which is why I follow you. But I just learned the other day about Trigedasleng and I think that it's so cool! I was curious, since you're a native English speaker, did you do a lot of research into American slang even though presumably you've got an innate knowledge of it vis a vis being American and a native English speaker? Sounds fun either way :)
I looked into the slang/accent around the D.C./Virginia area, specifically and tried to work that in where I could. Otherwise I relied on my own knowledge of English.

Had a little thot about clexa’s baby having a tough time with teething 🥺
Clarke strolled through the city square of Polis with the little girl tucked securely against her chest and flanked by a group of imposing guards. She thought perhaps, taking the child on a relaxing walk in the warm afternoon sun might help soothe her restless little body. However, the effort seemed to be futile as the small form strapped to Clarke’s body continued to squirm in discomfort. The occasional whimper would escape the baby’s soft lips, and it sent sharp pangs of worry coursing through her mother’s heart. The young woman was just about to retreat back to the comfort of the Commander’s tower when she was approached by a familiar face.
“Wanheda,” the elderly woman greeted with a kind smile.
Clarke recognized her immediately as one of the many vendors who regularly visited Polis. Her name was Margaret, and if she remembered correctly, the older woman was known for selling a plethora of delicious fruits.
Being the Commander’s wife came with many benefits. One of which included being showered in gifts by the locals anytime she so much as stepped foot outside the walls of the tower. And with the recent addition of their daughter, the gifts only seemed to multiply. Vendors willingly and eagerly offered up a variety of goods ranging from clothes to toys and so much more. The woman before her was no different. Memories of earlier days when the blonde had first joined Heda in Polis flash before her eyes. Margaret had been one of the first people to welcome her with open arms, and she made it a point to surprise the sky girl with a new treat every time she walked past her stall in the marketplace.
“Hei,” Clarke responded in the woman’s native tongue. The skaikru woman was nowhere near fluent in Trigedasleng, but thanks to her wife, she had learned enough to hold a basic conversation. Clarke had even managed to learn a good deal of curse words thanks to Anya, a fact that both annoyed the Commander and delighted the General.
“For Heda,” Margaret stated with bright, caring eyes as she held up a wicker basket that was practically overflowing with colorful fruits.
One of the many guards traveling with the pair whose hands, unlike many of his fellow gonas, had managed to remain free of gifts for the Commander’s family reached out to graciously take the basket from the elderly woman.
“Her favorites from when she was a goufa,” explained the woman as her smile grew wider at the memories of the green-eyed natblida who visited her stall frequently, always eager to see what new treats awaited her.
The young mother can’t stop herself from mirroring Margaret’s dazzling smile as she envisioned a much younger version of her wife. Such exquisite images served only to leave her wishing that she had been born a child of Earth so that she might have gotten to experience such an innocent version of her beloved.
“Mochof Margaret, Heda is always grateful for your generosity.”
The grounder’s hazel eyes showed brightly, and her chest seemed to puff up with pride at the mention of Lexa. Clarke wasn’t sure she would ever get used to how much the people of the coalition loved her wife. From the moment they met, it had been obvious that Lexa would do anything for her people. It was one of the many characteristics the two young women shared and a large reason why the two were so drawn to one another. However, unlike her own people, the grounders seemed to reciprocate the Commander’s love tenfold. Individuals leaped at the opportunity to serve their Heda in whatever capacity they could, whether that be in the form of a powerful gona or a caring handmaiden. Vendors and craftsmen laid gifts at her feet not because they were seeking notoriety of some kind or because they wanted something in return from the powerful woman but because it was the only way the people of the thirteen clans could thank Lexa Kom Trikru for what she had given them — peace.
Clarke was soon brought out of her thoughts when she felt a stirring motion against her chest. She cast her attention away from the woman before her and towards the small bundle grunting unhappily in the sling wrapped securely around her body. Clarke's arms encircled her daughter's form, and she held the child closer to her chest as she began to sway back and forth. Doing her best to soothe the little one.
"Shhh, it's okay. We'll be home soon, I promise," Clarke whispered to the baby.
However, her sweet reassurances do nothing to ease the baby's pain. A fact that served only to make the ache in Clarke's heart more intense. The young woman casts an apologetic look over to Margaret, who's focused her attention on the small bundle in Clarke's arms. Worry etches its way across her face as she tries to understand what could have caused the Commander's daughter such great upset. Clarke pulls the fabric of the sling back enough to expose her baby's tear-streaked face. She lifts her finger to the child's plump bottom lip and pulls it down just enough to reveal the beginnings of a tooth.
Margaret's eyes widen in understanding as she sees what's been distressing the girl. The older woman rests a comforting hand on the small of the young mother's back as she lifts her other hand to signal for Clarke to give her a moment. Clarke watches Margaret's fleeting form in confusion, not understanding what the woman has set out in search of. It's only a matter of minutes before she returns with another delicious fruit. Mango, if she remembers correctly. She's had it a few times with Lexa during the days before their daughter had arrived, when they would hide away in their quarters, making love the whole time and pausing only to eat a quick meal here and there. Clarke notices this time, instead of cutting the treat into bite-size cubes, the typically oblong fruit has been sliced in half to reveal a rather large seed at its core.
"For the goufa," Margaret explains with her sweet eyes and warm tone.
She can sense Clarke's befuddlement. She can tell Clarke's unsure of what to do, so she pushes the fruit toward the little girl's mouth. Smiling contentedly when she sees her latch onto the fruit almost immediately. Margaret releases her careful hold on the mango when tiny hands come to rest on either side of it. Clarke smiles gratefully when her daughter's tears finally cease, and she begins to let out sighs of relief. It's a funny sight to behold, really. Her little baby holding on tightly to the fruit as she happily gnaws away. Using it as her own personal teething toy. She's never been more grateful for the connection between the people of Polis and their Commander than she is at this moment.
Clarke isn't entirely sure what Lexa's plans are for the rest of the day, but she does know that she'll be sending her back to Margaret's stall to purchase as many mangos as her gona can carry.
#i got lazy towards the end and we dont have to talk about it and we also dont have to talk about how loooooooong this sat in my drafts#so many words just to tell y’all they gave the grumpy baby a little mango to chew on#clexa baby#clexa#clarke griffin#commander lexa

🥂 and 🤍!
[thank you for the ask! will be answering for my the 100 dr, s/o is raven reyes]
🥂 — how did you two meet and how did you relationship progress? ⋅ me and raven met in season 2, when skaikru and trikru met to discuss a peace treaty. raven is a part of skaikru. i am not a part of trikru [i am hosakru, a clan i created] but i am there at this meeting because lincoln and lexa both invited me for different reasons. the first time we met we didn't get to speak much. over time i become friends with john murphy, and get to know raven more through him. then, we become close when skaikru comes to me to help resolve the ALIE issue in season 3.
🤍 — what are your love languages VS. your s/o’s? How do you show theirs and how do they show yours? ⋅ i really value quality time through sharing/learning each other's interests. i will teach raven how to speak trigedasleng and ride horses, and she will teach me to help out with her mechanic work, and about space. she values physical touch and words of affirmation. words of encouragement do a lot for her, especially to get through tough times. she's also a more physical affection type of person, who doesn't mind pda. i think this is also reflected in her common habits of touching her necklace. she always wants something tactile [many times ends up being my hair lol]

On worldbuilding for drs:
I don’t want to claim to be an expert. However, I have taken a semester of specifically worldbuilding-oriented english writing, on top of being a literal english major. Needless to say, I think I know a *few* things on worldbuilding when it comes to fictional works. But drs are different beasts entirely.
When you’re writing, it’s easy to say “oh this is 20 miles from this” and leave it at that. But when you’re mapping/planning out new locations in a dr, for example, a post-dystopia where society is restarting at around the middle age- it’s important to be very aware of actual societal patterns and the WHY people would settle there. Understanding the fundamentals of human behavior is important for understanding worldbuilding as a whole.
Your world can look however. A remodeled United States, such as I have in my The 100 DR, won’t have the exact same lines for nations/communities. However, some nation/state lines exist for a reason. Most commonly, bodies of water. Large rivers or lakes in geography affect how people settle those areas. In the United States (which I’m using, because I have the most knowledge of the country and purely for that reason), the great lake area is incredibly fertile and has mild enough weather to be hospitable for all kinds of plants and livestock to survive year round. You can even weave this into land disputes- early english settlers to the ohio river valley fought a war with the indigenous tribes of the area for basically one reason- Beaver pelt. It was extremely valuable and actually they hunted beaver in the area to near extinction during and after the war. One people wanting certain land for purely agricultural and hunting reasons is a thing that has happened historically, and can be used as conflict points in a dr.
Language is also an interesting point. Sure, you can make up a language. That works fine. But also, knowing linguistics and incorporating aspects of cr language into your dr can make it more “realistic” and easier to learn and understand. Most languages stem from ancient languages- things like Latin and ancient Sumerian have stemmed into modern day English, Spanish, German, and even various Indian and broadly Asian languages. Using a post-dystopian US-centered example, you can take English and modify it to realistically have changed with times and cultures. Sticking with my 100 dr, there’s an existing language called Trigedasleng.
It’s derivative english. “Kom” in Trigeda is derived from “Come” in English, which ends up actually translating to something like “From” or “Of (the)” in English. “Kru” is directly derived from “Crew” on english, which means “people” in actual translation. “Heda” directly translates to “Leader” or “Commander,” but is derived from the English word “Head.” The head is in charge of the body, the Heda is in charge of the people. Trigedasleng is actually a “full” language developed by the writers of the TV show and even has an online translator. However, for my DR, I’m working on a lot more actual changes in the two languages, Trigedasleng and English. Only certain words have changed in canon, and I’m making a significant number of words actually change from their English counterparts.
Language also constitutes culture and societal differences. Does your dr society speak only one language, are multiple languages used? If they are post-dystopia, is the language entirely new, or derived? Again, in my dr, English is still used and spoken- but only specifically by Grounder warriors. Merchants, farmers, metalworkers, etc. only speak Trigedasleng. English is a language that has survived, but not thrived, during the rebuilding of society. Language can also be used to express class and status. Is knowing English a tell of formal education? Is speaking a “slang” version of a language used as a way to express lower classes or poverty? Take a look at American AAVE, used predominantly in poorer black communities. It’s English- with slight adjustments.
Take into account topography as well. If there is a mountain on one side, there may be a desert on the others. Take the Rockies for example, most of the land on the opposite side is desert because the mountains shield the brunt of the weather. If a society lives by the ocean or a big lake, the chances are that society has developed boats and use fishing techniques. If they live in snow areas, chances are they hunt rather than depending too heavily on agriculture yield. Valleys deep enough may have different weather than even just a few miles up in flatlands. Bogs, swamps, and other still water sources pose dangers to humans because of the species who live there, such as mosquitoes carrying malaria or aquatic reptiles such as alligators and crocodiles, or poisonous snakes. Therefore, it’s unlikely for a society to suddenly desire to live in the middle of the swamp, especially if they only have rudimentary technology.
Illnesses are also important to consider. For worldbuilding, it’s as much about the people and cultures as it is the physical map. Does one group have an immunity to one illnesses where another doesn’t, such as the real life application with the English bringing smallpox to the Americas? Would one group avoid another because they think they’re “sick,” whether literally or religiously? Religions are also a huge aspect of culture. We see it present even today in conflicts, and it also changes where people want to settle. Is there a “holy land” that the devout make pilgrimages to? Is there a blessed area that people believe if they can live there, they will prosper? Including the actual gods or deities in your dr is an entire other choice- but even if those religions are false or contradict other religions, people will still believe. It’s human nature to seek divine explanations when practical ones fall short.
If anyone has further questions, my asks *should* be open! I could rant about worldbuilding for hours.
Also, for reference, here are two (very rudimentary lmao) maps for my The 100 dr *some locations are changed from canon*:

The thing about the Siblings that is the most terrifying is that they never stop learning.
It's like a bottomless pit, their desire to learn everything they can get their grubby blue hands on, and it's unnerving how quickly they pick things up.
Languages are a breeze for them, and as a result their code is constantly evolving.
Old Norse, Ojibwe (Anishinaabemowin), Interslavic (look it up), Trigedasleng (the 100), Gaulish, and Sumerian are just a few of the other languages the Siblings have decided to learn to some degree or another.
Ravi has a particularly unsettling interest in war tactics, military history, and different styles of martial arts. Miles, and others, get to learn the full scope of his knowledge when playing the assault on Bridgehead.
Reyzi took to medicine like a flame to oil, by fiften she had read every medical textbook, research paper, and article in Hell's Gate's system. Topics she took interest in including biomedical engineering, neuroscience, and the process behind creating an avatar. She knows both the human and na'vi body inside and out, and she uses this knowledge to her advantage.
Ro'eyk, to no one's surprise, specialized in chemistry, physics, engineering, and the history of weapons manufacturing. At thirteen, he made his own recreation of Greek Fire, and by fifteen he had taken apart every weapon in Hell's Gate's armoury and put it back together.
Of course, they tend to share their knowledge amongst themselves, and at times you might almost think they have a hive mind.
It's unclear what is more terrifying; the siblings having a hive mind, or that they are so connected that they don't need one.
and with their different forms of memory (photographic and eidetic) they could just about learn everything. they absorb everything, even passing details, and that's whats scary. they can't even leave the kids near the kids near the RDA science pukes, because the kids will remember everything they say and they will use it against them. they also know that if one sibling knows something, they all know it.
the recoms do not get a single moment of rest with those 3, 4 when spider is also in on their bullshit (affectionately dubbed that by the recoms) which is more often than not.
they know one wrong move from them, letting the siblings around the wrong person, anything of the likes of that, and someone's screwed and the blame could easily fall on them.
(also, I totally hc that ravi was a latin boy, he could recite latin in his sleep, it was one of his favorite, normal things to study)

Ten languages!! bro. how. and what are they
I didn't have any friends until I was like. 18-19. So I used to hide in like a janitors closet at breaks and lunch, jam a chair under the door handle, and learn languages instead. The library had to order in a bunch of language books for me
That was a long time ago but I still remember the very basics of Finnish, Estonian, Egyptian Arabic, Polish, Russian
And I speak/understand decent Dutch, German, French and Spanish
And then there's Trigedasleng, a conlang by @dedalvs because I am a nerd
I always had a great mind for retaining vocab and I pick up accents really well, but grammar was my downfall Every Time. I'd get to a certain point and hit some grammar point (genders in German, different types of past tense in Spanish) that just. Would not compute, and I'd get stuck at that level. I wanted to be a translator at one point but the tism brain just won't grammar well (or translate fast enough). I could get by with like, visiting the countries though

Random confession? 🤷♀️ I’ve been working on a fic for two years with zero intention of releasing it anywhere. But I’ve basically learned Trigedasleng because of it🤣 Why? Cause I’m insane apparently!
Perfectly reasonable!! Sometimes you write fanfic for yourself and release it in case others want to enjoy it too, other times you just gotta write that fanfic for yourself and yourself only because who's gonna write the damn ric you want exavtly how you want if not yourself?!
Its also great writing prapractice no one else needs to be prying to!
As someone who craves validation a lot, ive been working on 2 fics for myself and only myself too and its FUN! You dont gotta explain nothing to anyone, you can play with povs and different styles of writing without being afraid people won't read/will find it strange and its honestly rather liberating! I'd recommend everyone have at least one fic they write for themselves and themselves only. Its fun and enjoyable and gives you the chance to expand on your writing, even if you never intend to share your writing, on this or future projects, its still a wonderful still to have and develop!
#letter opened#not insane just actually extremely smart of you anon 😌#fanfic writing should be for yourself first and foremost#creating without the intent to share or to gain validation from others? such a powerful skill to gain#because its fucking hard when you start posting and want validation and it doesnt come#so being able to create without thinking of that validation is just so damn good you are doing great!!!

amongthcwreck:
there was supposed to be talk for peace. something to bring an end to a war that hadn’t even started yet. yet, he thought of it like it was inevitable. and it was, he knew that. half of Arkadia was divided. one side saying that they should have peace with the grounders, the others eager for war. and he stood, unbalanced on a line that he had drawn up in the middle. unsure of where to stand completely. he was the leader of the group, initially all rebellious and raucous, he taking the bracelets off which detected the vital health and movement from the ark. he tried to see all angles. like he was trying to see now. the new presence in the camp was a man, one from the grounders, trying to talk about peace. something that was already starting a war. funny, wasn’t it? a war over peace. he approached him now without hesitation, although some uncertainty and distrust. “what do you think of it?” he asked, a gesture towards what they had built of Arkadia so far. a simple question just to start something. see his view of things. figure out what the grounders really thought of peace.
athelstan was trying to negotiate for peace with the sky people, which when he heard about the hundred going down to earth from space, reminded him of falling from heaven. it was not the same, of course, but still ALL of what god had created, he breathing clay in the earth and in humans, and he had read that in genesis. additionally, he was grateful that god had heard of his praying wishes to experience earth.
heda anya had entrusted athelstan to this precarious task of peace, seeing his fluent capacity to speak english, and being capable of learning their mother tongue of trigedasleng. it had been a difficult meeting at first, she recognising him to be a white settler to invade their ground. it was harsh like norse, emanating in the earthy ground itself, as he speaks to not kill him in their tongue, and they speak, anya deciding to listen to him. the grounder’s world was different to what he knew, and when he commented such, one of the grounders who had a more open mind to his staying with them, had said to him that THIS was his world now, as he holds a greying brown skull of a person who died in the ground.
he studies the camping site the sky people had built, the first time seeing it close up. he has no weapons with him, of no advanced equipment from mount weather, nor the more basic (yet, VERY effective, he discovered) weapons he was still learning to use from the grounders. having nothing that could be PERCEIVED as a weapon when negotiating for peace, was essential.
the camp looked quite efficient. it was not as organized nor advanced, as mount weather, where there was bunk beds and food cafeterias and cleanliness, but he supposed it looked liveable.
after a few moments, he answers. he speaks english in return, fluently flowing from his mouth. “it is different to what i know, but it is built well, bellamy of the sky people.”

Is it possible for Duolingo to get a Trigedasleng course? I've seen you say it was your most popular conglang, and I know that there are groups where you can learn it, but I wish there was a Duolingo for it :(
No, I'd say the chances of that happening are long past. :( Not unless so many people started speaking Trig. that it needed a course based on speaker numbers—and something like that would be more like if there were a Duolingo course to learn it. No, for something like that to have happened, the 100 fandom would have needed to continue expanding on through season three (so something else would have needed to happen with Lexa), and we might have needed an eighth season. I'd say there's no possibility of a Duolingo Trigedasleng course ever. Now, if there was an open source platform for making Duolingo-like courses on your own, then we could do it.

How do you transition from learning individual words to putting together coherent sentences?
Gah! I spent most of the afternoon writing a big detailed response, and Windows 10 ate it. Whoever’s responsible for that crapware needs a good wamplei kom thauz kodon-ing.
Anyway, the short version is that I learned by copying the canon sentences on the show. I’d look for an existing sentence that had the same grammatical structure and just swap out words.
For instance, suppose I wanted to say “we need to talk.” I’d look for a canon sentence that had “need to {verb}” in it. Ep 206 had one:
ai don sen in chit bilaik ai gaf sen in, “I heard what I needed to hear”.
Then I swap the words out. For “we” I went with yumi, and “talk” without a direct object is chich raun:
yumi gaf chich raun.
And just keep doing that until you get a feel for it.
Unfortunately, the website I used is gone now, and our (Slakgedakru’s) replacement is still a work in progress. But meanwhile David J. Peterson uploaded a transcript of lines from seasons 2 and 3 here. Including some that were cut from the final ep or dropped back to English.
