In some superman lore, red sunlight doesn't surpress Superman's powers, it just doesn't charge them/ doesn't charge them as much as yellow sunlight.
What if the low energy output of a red sun caused all life on Krypton to evolve to latch on and store any and all possible energy (food, sunlight, some types of radiation) and during dire situations, Kryptonians could use weaker versions of their powers to protect themselves?
Kinda like when humans are threatened our bodies produce adrenaline and burn a lot of calories for like 10 seconds of unbelievable strength. Kryptonians do a similar thing +stored solar energy to occasionally fly away from threats or use superstrength for a few seconds?
#learned in biology that only about 10% of energy and biomass passes onto the next link of the food chain#ie for 1000kg of plants you only get 100kg of bunnies and for 100kg bunnies you get 10kg of foxes etc ect#so i was thinking#if life grew on a planet with less energy than earth would there be less life on it or does the life evolve to suvive on less#like would there be less solar energy<less plants<less 1st degree consumers<less 2nd degree consumers etc.#or would life evolve to consume less energy and allowing a larger % of energy-biomass to pass to the next stage?#superman#clark kent#superman lore#dc comics#sailor krypton#there are records of people pulling off car doors/ lifting cars to get people stuck inside out#i wondered if Kryptonians also had similar things but also temporary superpowers on top of the adrenaline#headcanon#theory
