there needs to be some kind of concert etiquette primer booklet because i feel like we’re forgetting that a lot of these kids were locked inside during the years where you start going to concerts and learning how to behave at them. shit’s dire
i am always saying this!!!! everyone should have to pass a concert etiquette pop quiz in order to buy tickets.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: the concert etiquette crisis will only be solved when some of you guys go to small, local gigs sometimes rather than exclusively going to concerts by artists with millions of Spotify listeners and bizarre cults of personality curated by chronically online fans

i'm so excited for the eras tour, like unbelievably pumped, but also just like the tiniest bit sad. i'm going alone, and i am not the greatest at socializing, and i just feel like it would be that much more fun to like...share that experience with people you know, ya know?

i think people's etiquette hasn't actually gotten that much worse since 2020 i think some people just spend so much time inside that they forget that when you go outside there are people there and sometimes those people are annoying

soul haze || choi seungcheol
Tumblr media
soul glow
summary: you had just gotten home after leaving the seventeen concert early, only for your phone to start ringing with what you think is the biggest joke of the century. it turns out, that maybe you left too early.
pairing: choi seungcheol x neurodivergent reader
genre: soulmates, soul bonds, idol au, angst
warnings: some insecurity, angst, not much
after many requests here is the second part to soul glow! enjoy :)
------------------------------
You kept the lights off when you closed the door behind you, still overstimulated and almost needing the reprieve the darkness allowed. It's also not like you didn't know your apartment like the back of your hand, everything placed meticulously and to your liking.
Locking the door, you maneuvered yourself to your bathroom, needing to remove the make up your friend had put on you before the concert. You could feel it on your skin and that was something that always seemed to bother you when you became overstimulated. You couldn’t help it.
Once you felt that all of it was gone, you used your favorite moisturizer on your skin, loving that it cooled you down and left you feeling like you skin was soft. You know it was on your skin, but instead of feeling it on your skin, it was like it blended in perfectly, not just sitting on the surface.
You were about to get changed into your pajamas when your phone rang, an unknown number coming up on your screen. You ignored it the first time, but the second time and then the third time had you wondering just who was calling you at almost ten pm. On the fourth ring you finally picked up the phone.
“Hello, who—” You were cut off by a man’s deep voice.
“Is this the phone of Ms. Y/n L/n?” Your face turned up in complete confusion, not wanting to deal with an important phone call so late when you were already overstimulated.
“Uhm, can I ask who is calling first before I give that answer?” You try in vain to see who was calling, as they just insist on asking if this was your phone number or not.
“Is this Ms. L/n speaking?”
“Yes. Now can I ask who is calling me so late at night?” You almost spit out, already tired of the person on the other end.
“This is the manager for the group Seventeen who you just saw perform in concert. Now, before you hang up—” You almost look out your blinds, wondering how this man knew you were about to hang up the phone, now thinking this call is a huge prank.
“Please note that you and your friend sat in row 1 seats 8 and 9 and you left the concert early. We also have your friend’s license plate number and both of your ticket confirmation numbers if you still don’t believe me.” Your eyes had now widened considerably, any tiredness now leaving your eyes and body.
You were feeling a little scared at this point and were trying to figure out if you had broken any rule or etiquette at the concert that you didn’t know about. It was your first concert and you truly were worried that you did something wrong now.
“Miss, are you there?” You hadn’t even realized you had spaced out, not listening to the man on the phone.
“Uhm, y-yes I am.” You stuttered your reply. “Am I in trouble?’
“Uhm, no miss, you aren’t in any trouble—” You cut him off this time.
“I promise I didn’t mean to break any rules or anything. It was my first concert and I tried to learn proper etiquette before hand—”
“Miss. I can assure you aren’t in trouble—” You can hear struggling happening on the other side of the phone and a new voice starts talking.
---
Scoups was freaking out now, fearing you had gotten away and they would never find you, he would never find you. He could feel Jeonghan and Mingyu trying to talk to him but all he could imagine was the thought of never getting to hold you.
That all stopped when he heard his manager on the phone, reassuring someone that they weren’t in trouble. He couldn’t stop himself; he just barreled forward and took the phone from his now frozen manager.
“Y/n?” He asks, voice shaky as he feared he took the phone when it wasn’t his soulmate on the other end.
“Yes?” He could feel his heart begin racing, hearing your voice. He knew it was you, then and there. The tingles he felt and the beating of his heart didn’t lie.
He didn’t speak the best English, and he didn’t know how to vocalize what he wanted in his moment of urgency, so he called Joshua over, who was the closest, and told him what he wanted to say.
“Tell her that she needs to come back to the stadium, that we will get a vehicle for her if needed.” He was straight to the point, his urgency almost bordering the line of manic, his fear of you disappearing covering his usual calm nature.
---
“Hi, this is Joshua, Scoups does not speak the best English so he is asking me to translate, is this okay?” Oh, my, goodness. You were now on the phone with one of your biases. You felt way in over your head and that this was all a dream.
“Uhm, hello. I—uh yes, that’s fine. I do speak some Korean but I am still learning.” You mention your knowledge of the Korean language hoping that it would help them communicate if needed. You didn’t know if you would be of any help, you had no clue what was going on at all.
“Oh, that’s awesome. Well, is it possible for you to come back to the stadium? There are some things we need to discuss with you in person. It is very important.” You tilted your head to the side, confusion coming back into your head as shock is pushed to the back.
“I, uhm, my friend just dropped me off at home. I don’t have a way back to the stadium.”
“We can send a car right now. What is your address?” Joshua is quick to respond, ignoring Scoups hitting him in the shoulder and trying to get him to ask you more things.
You give the man your address, hearing the almost stress in his voice. You would hate to cause anyone trouble, especially people who just finished an almost three hour concert and were probably dead on their feet.
“Keep her on the phone, don’t let her hang up!” Someone tells Joshua, making you question everything.
“Who was that? Why do I need to stay on the phone?” You ask after slowly translating their words in your head.
“Uhm, that was Scoups, and we just want to make sure you get here safe!” You can tell the excuse was said by someone else, Joshua just repeating the words.
To be honest, you were so tired and still overstimulated that you just decided to go along with everything hoping it meant you could get home sooner and into bed. You were bordering non-verbal again but you didn’t want to make things difficult for anyone, especially when they claim this was an important thing.
You hated feeling like a burden. Like you were being difficult.
By the time the car arrived for you, you had been asked a couple more questions, just basic things like what your favorite Seventeen song was, or when you became a carat. You think they were just trying to pass the time, but you still had a hard time answering them.
You had grabbed your concert bag, thankful you hadn’t taken anything out of it yet, and made your way out to the car.
It took about an hour to make it back to the stadium and inside, given the after-concert traffic, but you made it inside and the person who drove you there helped you get past security where someone was waiting for you.
“Are you Miss Y/n” He was wearing a tour shirt and black jeans and lots of wires with a small earpiece. You figured he was someone on the Seventeen management or security team. The driver walked you forward, leaving you with a nod of his head.
“Yes, sir.” Your voice was quiet. You tried hard to project your voice but it was like the connection between your brain and your voice box was faulty.
“Please come this way.” The man had such a bright smile on his face with his dimples peeking through, that you almost felt uncomfortable. You were bordering grumpy now, not having slept or bed in bed by your normal time.
“We are very that excited you are here.” The man tries to make small talk, but you don’t understand what he is trying to imply and it makes you even more annoyed. You don’t manage to respond by the time he stops in front of a door to your right.
“You can go on in, Miss.” You nod your head in thanks, before slowly turning the door handle and pushing your way in.
The first thing you notice is a bright, glowing silhouette, surrounding Scoups. You stood frozen, the both of you, just taking each other in. Him seeing you up close for the first time, and you trying your hardest not to faint at the implication of the glow.
You knew what it meant, and suddenly everything made sense for why they needed you back to the stadium, as quick as you could. You were in a haze by the bright glow of the soul bond, realizing Scoups was your soulmate.
You were still frozen in the doorway, trying to make sense of your soul bond when Scoups pushed forward, slowly and cautiously as he watched you. He thought you looked like a deer caught in the headlights, and it caused him some discomfort, seeing you like that.
“Hello, my glow.” His voice was deep, yet soft as he approached you, causing tingles to shoot up your spine.
“Can I—Can I hold you?” He just wanted to comfort you, feeling in his soul that you needed it and he couldn’t help but to take your silence and your doe eyes as a response. You could just feel his arms wrap around you, as if he knew exactly what you needed in that moment, something to ground you, to support you.
The second his arms were around you, the glow you both held disappeared and you both felt like a weight was lifted from your shoulders. Both of your bodies almost immediately loosened, all of the tension leaving your bodies.
“My glow.” Scoups whispered affectionately in your ears, pulling you into the room without letting you go from his embrace.
“I’ve found you.”

could we maybe get headcanons on how copia would react to his s/o watching him become papa? how he would feel, if he would be proud, and how he and his partner would interact after?
My brain is doing that thing again where the mental health isn't mental healthing so apologies if these headcanons aren't as good as what I usually put out!!
Because of it being so unexpected for Copia when Nihil died on stage and suddenly siblings of sin were taking to the stage to annoint him as Papa, I think he would've been really nervous about it at first
Especially knowing that you're watching from the wings and also had no idea that this was going to happen
He was scared that you'd think he hadn't trusted you with the knowledge that he was going to become Papa and he was worried that it would negatively impact your relationship
But when he catches a glimpse of you watching
And the way you beam with pride and cheer for him as he's adorned with the mitre and paint
He would feel such great relief
Copia always has that lingering fear because he never knew who his parents were that others he's going to get close to will leave him
However, in that moment that fear vanishes for the time being
He feels so incredibly proud to have someone like you by his side who supports him and cheers him on, even when something so unexpected and monumental like this happens
After his ascension and once the concert has ended, you're the first person that Copia seeks out
He doesn't give a shit about Sister Imperator waiting for him or all the siblings of sin trying to swarm around him, all he cares about is you
He's different to other Papas in that he was never raised to become Papa in the way that Primo, Secondo, and Terzo were
Sure, Imperator had always made lighthearted comments during his time as cardinal about what will happen when his time to become Papa approaches, but he'd never been raised with the protocol and etiquette of being Papa like the others had been
You are his favourite and he doesn't really care to find someone to be his Prime Mover. Why would he when he has you?
While he knows not to show his favouritism, he doesn't deny that you are the one who has his favour or that you're the only person he wishes to spend the rest of his life with
You both have to learn to at least try to keep things professional when performing your duties within your roles at the Ministry
But you also devise codes and signals to communicate with one another what your true thoughts or opinions are when you have to act professionally around the clergy
Sadly, being Papa does mean he has less time for you
But that doesn't mean Copia doesn't prioritise you
You hold Papa's favour, which is represented by the sapphire adorned gold crucifix pin that sits just above your heart on your uniform
And as such, Copia puts you before other members of the clergy and even before Imperator herself
You may as well be reigning as a satanic pope in your own right beside him, because that's how much he values your views and opinions and how high he places you above everyone else

Dancing in your kitchen - Helios short
“Now he's thinkin' 'bout me every night, oh!”
The echoes of a song from your original world bounce off the stone walls of the kitchen. Accompanied only by the melody of the boiling milk on the magically powered stove and the gentle beat of your dancing feet.
“Is it that sweet? I guess so.”
It was a performance for one, as all the staff had long since retired for the night, and you were certain his lordship would have ensured each room was soundproofed to avoid any unnecessary distractions.
“Say you can't sleep, baby, I know. That's that me, espresso!”
Sleep had refused to take you, instead leaving you to toss and turn in the silk covers of the four poster bed, finding it impossible to get comfortable in spite of the fact it had been embroidered with so many magical circuits to ensure it did exactly that. Maybe, even now, after you had thought you were used to this world, to this life with the ArchDuke, there was still a part of you that remembered the life you had come from, one which definitely didn't include giant magic powered manors or silken beds big enough for at least eight people.
“Move it up, down, left, right, oh. Switch it up like Nintendo.”
That was how you'd found yourself in the kitchen, making a familiar comfort drink, in the most familiar way possible. No servants. No magic… or as little magic as possible. No etiquette to be concerned about. Just you, making hot chocolate, dancing a silly little dance to a fun, silly song, in the middle of the night.
“Say you can't sleep, baby, I know. That's that me, espresso!”
“What are you doing?”
You spin around, ladle wielded in defence in the direction of the owner of the voice who had interrupted your concert for one, only to find a dark-haired man watching you with thinly veiled amusement.
“Helios?”
It took you a second to register that it was the ArchDuke leaning against the doorway, since you were far too used to him standing rigidly upright, maintaining perfect posture, and an even more perfectly controlled expression. If you were to ask anyone whether Helios Kingsley would ever lean on anything, with arms loosely folded over a partially unbuttoned shirt, you'd get laughed out of the tower. Yet there he was, watching you curiously, with blue eyes slightly dulled from an exhaustion of his own.
“Why do you sound so surprised to see me in my own home?” A raised brow as his eyes wander to your weapon of choice, “and did you learn nothing in your magic lessons? I'm sure I taught you at least one defence spell, so why, pray tell, was your first choice a ladle?”
Sheepishly, the ladle disappears behind your back. You knew he wouldn't let you be harmed, but technically, what you had done, raising a weapon (even of the spoon variety) towards the ArchDuke was a criminal offence.
“Ah you misunderstand, the ladle was simply a distraction. Once I caught the attacker by surprise, I'd hit them with a spell to immobilise them.” You can't help the grin as he almost looks a little surprised and maybe even a little impressed. “You gotta admit you were surprised, so my plan worked even if only a ladle bit.”
Any look of being impressed disappeared in an instant with a roll of his eyes.
“You're awful.” Still, you knew him well enough now to pick up on the way the corner of his mouth twitched in spite of himself at your awful joke. Though he'd never give you the chance to point out the fact you knew that deep down he loved them really. “I imagine that song was one from your original world, but I couldn't tell if those movements you were doing were a dance or a sign of you being possessed.”
“I'll have you know that was a very popular dance back on Earth. It was a whole craze on tiktok.” The ladle waves at him in mock annoyance before you turn around in a huff to stir your neglected hot chocolate. “It's my fault that you're too inflexible to let loose and recognise a good dance when you see it.”
“I have no idea what that is–”
“You not knowing something? That'd be a first.”
“But I know plenty of good dances.” You didn't have a chance to register he was behind you before he took your hand to twirl you round and pull you into his light hold, with that overly confident smirk of his that he seemed to reserve mainly for you. “Let me show you one.”
Your laughter fills the room as he twirls you around again, and you dance around the kitchen mimicking something that you recognise vaguely as a waltz, but adapted to fit around the many obstacles and to the rhythm of a chorus he had only heard part of. Though there's no music this time, only the light of the moon as it falls through the window, lighting up his hair as if it was the night sky itself, and illuminating the soft expression he wore whenever he thought you weren't paying attention.
“See, I can let loose.” He straightens proudly as you come to a stop back in front of the stove, which only caused another wave of laughter from you.
“Did you seriously just do that to prove a point?”
“No, I would never do something so immature.” He clears his throat at his very obvious lie, but it seems he's not too fussed whether you believe it or not, if the glint in his eye is anything to go by.
“Sure, whatever you have to tell yourself to sleep at night.” Your laughter softens and you shake your head gently at his antics, as your own eyes fall on your hot chocolate… though you don't know if you can call the curdled mess by that anymore. “Speaking of which, we may have ruined what I was going to use to fall asleep myself.”
His eyes move from you, to the stove, and then pack to you, as if he is seriously weighing out different options, a look you usually saw when he was making very serious choices for the Archduchy or the Magic Tower. It didn't surprise you though, that he treated this with the same gravity.
“Head up to bed, I'll bring you up another one.”
A pause. An incredulous look.
“Do you even know how to use a stove?”
“Don't insult my intelligence, I'm not so pampered that I don't know how to use basic culinary equipment.” A playful smirk dances on his lips, “plus Haeun and I have snuck in many a time to make all sorts. This isn't my first late night cooking session.”
“You truely are a rebel Helios, I didn't know you had it in you.” You chuckle as you see him raise his hand, calling out before he casts the teleportation spell to send you back to your room. “Don't forget the marshmallows!”
The dark haired mage, the ruler of the North, can't help but shake his head as you disappear from sight, but he still stares just a beat to long at the place where you once stood. Though when he pulls himself away it's all business, sleeves are rolled up, and magic dances around the room as he restarts the hot chocolate making process, humming a catchy song from another world as he goes.

Aside from my mortification at the theatre last night and not trading a single friendship bracelet, last night was an amazing night. A magical movie(concert? film? both?). It was a fun time.
But seriously. I made like, 50 bracelets, tried to trade one.... got politely declined. Then, I learned five minutes later that I was in the auditorium for Paw Patrol. (I made it to the Eras Movie one in time, though, thank god) I can never return to that theatre.
Still baffled at the movie etiquette being put aside for it, though? Anyway, wrong as it felt, this is my photo I got of the theatre screen. Turned out pretty well, eh?

Weird rant and I completely get why somebody would think it’s like overreacting but idk I wanna get it out. I was just like scrolling Instagram and I came across this video where these people were at a Billie concert and like she starts singing what was I made for and the people in the crowd, some of them start singing that meme where it’s like what was I made for but like meow meow meow meow and I honestly find that meme hilarious….
Online. I find it funny online.
But like I’m also thinking of like the idea of like paying so much to go to a Billie concert and like she plays this genuinely like gut wrenching song
(I’m not joking I have spent so many nights bawling my eyes out to that song it hits me in a way not a lot of songs do.)
And like these people just ruining the moment. I get wanting to have fun at a concert but man that’s just… to me it’s just dumb.
I remember like a year ago I held the opinion that it was ok for someone to go to a concert and like scream sing the lyrics cuz “it’s fun” and “people who don’t do it just don’t know how to have fun” but man that’s such a dumb thing to say cuz like people who genuinely just love these artists come to these concerts to hear some of their most favorite, heart touching songs sung live by their artist in this giant loud atmosphere. And then paying all that money just to be barely able to hear the artist you came to see just sounds so annoying. Nothing wrong with singing along, but like emphasis on *SINGING* not screaming or make some annoying sound on purpose.
Also I know damn well I can’t even fantasize about going to these concerts without like losing a kidney💀 but just eh it’s not fun.
Like ok embarrassing story, around the time the eras tour movie was happening I went to watch it in theatre’s and I screamed very loudly in this theatre💀 with my he/him manly ass scream too💀 like in the moment I was having fun but looking back I was so embarrassed. Ofc with the movies it was cheaper but still I learned a big lesson about concert etiquette. It’s been discussed to death but there’s been this wave of people who have this very selfish mindset with going to concerts. This “I payed for it so I should be able to do whatever I want to have fun” mentality. And I personally think it has a lot to do with people just going to concerts to have something to post and make this a whole thing that they can post later about. When the emphasis is on capturing the most shareable moments where you can find your light, why should you care when you block everyone else’s light? It’s just very sad. Like ffs you don’t need to get an entire video of the concert💀. Like I think if I ever go to a concert I’ll only really film the songs I love the most and take pictures outside the venue. Like just not filming can be so freeing and the fact that in the moment we forget that is a little sad.
Anyways rant over bye.

I’m sick of concert etiquette being ignored.
hey yall, fae here. i have to make this post because im sick of stuff like this happening. last night in germany(?) during his speech before JBH, fans started chanting for pizza, and wouldn’t stop, so out of frustration, they played it. It is there most disrespectful thing to do as this doesn’t happen during the others talk breaks. Y’all don’t appreciate Michael at all, and it hurts. so, learn proper concert etiquette and do better, please.

All your points made me think about objects being thrown at artists too! Just a serious lack of decorum and sense, making shows unsafe for literally everybody involved. I agree concert etiquette needs to be learned/taught, but since that doesn’t seem to be on the table, what you said about no concerts in the future… absolutely IS on the table. Do people not understand the stakes of their unacceptable behavior, like hello??? Not to mention the absolute creep shows happening 24/7 off the stage, fandom is truly cooked, rip, you had to be there lmao
YES. Oh my god. The way it actually infuriates me when people throw things on stage. I will never forget watching the fuckass candy hit Harry in the eye and see how quickly his mood changed. He was SO happy, ready to get off stage after having to cancel shows for being sick and then BAM, skittle to the fucking pupil. Just nasty. It's SO annoying and frustrating. And yes exactly - people don't realize that the artist can really say fuck it, I will only perform in these conditions and make the stage 10-20 feet away from the stage, only do festivals or one off shows, not allow bags etc etc etc.
And there is absolutely a lack of decorum when it comes to meeting celebrities outside of these events. I am not in the camp of like DO NOT TALK TO ANYONE because I think it's very natural to see someone you're a fan of and want to go up to them but there is a way to do it that is respectful and treats them like a human. Not screaming, phones out begging for a selfie. What ever happened to 'hello, how are you!'
