when r finds out that their two bestfriends (and secret crushes) have gotten together on a trip they go into a meltdown of feeling left out and unloved - lw2 sort them out and show them just how loved they are by the two of them
just fluff, angst, confessions of love, lack of taking care of themselves and zero editing or proof reading because it’s 1am rn and i have to be at school at 8 ☠️
Lia and Leah. The indomitable couple, that had very quickly become the talk of the soccer community. They were a power couple, the swiss and english captain surprising the whole women's football community when announcing their relationship. You were happy for them, the two women were your best friends in the whole world, so when the photos from their recent trip during a international break to Ibiza had popped up you should have been ecstatic, but for some reason you couldn’t help but feel a pang of something else.
The two women were your best friends in the entire world, but you also harboured feelings for both of the women, and now that they were romantically involved you couldn’t help but feel a little bit gutted at the idea that when they returned to Arsenal for the season it would be the two of them together as a couple, and not the three of you as best friends. You were obviously happy for them, sending them a flurry of congratulations and expressions of your happiness about them getting together, but you couldn’t help the feeling in your gut that was almost making you jealous of what the two women had.
You spent the few days left of the break confined to your flat, in too much of a slump to go any further from your bed then to your home gym that was in your spare bedroom.
When the break ended you forced yourself to gather up the guts to return to the Arsenal training ground, pulling together every part of you just to make it to training. When you walked into the change rooms they were already full of your teammates, all of them in various states of undress and engaging in a series of activities. Leah and Lia were the first people to recognise your presence, calling out for you to come and sit with them over near Leah’s cubby, but you ignored them, walking straight towards your own. You didn’t even make it to the locker though before Katie was sliding down on the bench directly in front of you, stopping you from slinging your kit bag into your cubby.
“What’s got you down today, y/l/n?”
Her voice was so playful, everything that you normally loved about the woman, but today you had no tolerance. You’d hardly slept, you’d been too tired to make your morning coffee or breakfast so you were an uncaffeinated grump.
You shoved Katie out of the way, with a quick push, moving her far enough out of your way that you were able to slide your bag into the cubby and begin to strip off your tracksuit and hoodie so you could throw on your training gear.
“Wow, someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed, or was it somebody else's bed?”
It was in Katie’s nature to be annoying, she was one of your best friends, an older sister to you in a lot of ways and normally you had quite a lot of tolerance for her prodding, but today your sleep deprived form wasn’t having any of it.
“Fuck off Katie.”
Your voice was cutthroat, as you tugged your Arsenal hoodie over your head and replaced it with your training kit. You then followed with toeing off the runners you had on and sliding your track pants down your legs, letting them pool at your ankle before stepping out of them and throwing them into your cubby.
“Ooh, she’s fiery today, you can tell me darl, who’s the lucky lady or lass?”
You rolled your eyes, biting down on your tongue to stop you from saying anything seriously offensive to the older woman, for your own safety.
You pulled your training shorts up and then sat down on the bench, pulling your socks and cleats out of your bag.
“Not that it’s any of your fucking business, but nobody, so go fuck with somebody else because you are getting jack out of me this morning, fuck off.”
It was a lot of expletives, something unusual for you. You didn’t like to swear, in fact off the pitch you rarely swore, but today you felt so on edge, so out of place. There were tears brimming behind your eyes, tears that would never fall but burned your eyes all the same. Katie looked like she was going to say something else but Kim became your saving grace, getting in between the two of you and tugging Katie over to her own cubby, leaving you on your own.
You made quick work of your socks and cleats, slipping them easily over your feet, the part you struggled with was your laces, your hands shaking too badly to even get a grip on the fine pieces of polyester. It was embarrassingly humbling, your brain very quickly becoming aggravated at your inability to complete the one basic task. You glared down at your laces, ready to curse them out as well when your hands were grabbed by someone else's. You froze immediately, looking up to locate the source of the hands that were binding your hands from continuing to fail at the task they had.
You frowned a little bit at Viv. Aware, that the older woman probably wasn’t exactly happy with your treatment of your teammate. She didn’t say anything though, didn’t reprimand you, just pushed your hands up to rest on the bench and began the task of tying up your laces.
“What’s up?”
Viv’s words were hushed, so nobody else in the locker room could hear them beside you. Her words were soft, genuine, caring.
“Nothing, I’m fine.”
Viv rolled her eyes, finishing your left foot and then moving onto tying up your right one.
“You aren’t very good at lying, jochie.”
Your jaw locked at Viv’s words, watching her finish your left boot, as soon as her hands had left your feet you shot up off the bench, pushing her away as well and marching to the change room door, making your way out towards the training ground before Viv had the opportunity to ask you about your feelings again.
You trained like shit. Your sleep deprivation and lack of energy clear in your actions, you were sloppy, inaccurate and overall just poor in performance. You were approached multiple times by both Leah and Lia, as well as Kim and Jonas, who all seemed a little bit shocked by the shell of a player you were on the field. Before the break you’d been on top of your game, you were unstoppable on the pitch, scoring goals and assists. Your training session hardly reflected that though, on the pitch you looked like a rookie, you were playing like a rookie. You avoided them all as much as you could, especially the couple.
By the end of training you were rushing off the pitch, getting changed as quickly as possible and then getting to your car in record time, avoiding anybody who got in your way.
The couple were extremely shocked by your behaviour, the two of them sharing glances throughout the whole of training and in the change rooms afterwards, the both of them equally perplexed by your behaviour. On the drive home they shared similar thoughts, the both of them were equally worried about you and equally confused about your behaviour.
The next few days only got worse for you. Your lack of sleep and nutrition were affecting you even more and none of the girls came anywhere near you in the locker rooms, having observed Katie, Viv and Beth all be on the flip side of your outbursts when the three of them tried to push you. It wasn’t pretty and you knew that you were getting very close to getting a proper dressing down from Kim, your days were becoming numbered and you knew that if you didn’t pick up your act you were going to get a serious sit down.
You just couldn’t find it in you to care, all you could think about was the two women that had a few weeks ago been your best friends in the entire world. They were everywhere, at training, at team dinner, at team movie night. Everywhere you went they were there, so you found solace in your house which was the only space you had to yourself. The two women had been texting you, calling you, even daring to show up to the door of your flat, spending ten minutes knocking on the door. It had been ten agonising minutes in which you’d buried yourself in your bedsheets, patiently awaiting the two women to lead. Your avoidance had been going reasonably well, you weren’t in their gym group so they didn’t really have an excuse to approach you then, your cubby was on the other side of the locker room and you actively avoided them in training sessions.
It was going as fine as fine could go, you totally weren’t crying yourself to sleep every night thinking of the two women, or scrolling through both of their feeds everyday and looking at the old pictures of you three from merely a few weeks ago. It was all going fine until they cornered you in the locker rooms after a particularly rough training session.
It shouldn’t have been a rough session, Katie had been put on you and she was a rough defender but you were faster and more agile, but not with your sleep deprivation and malnutrition. Every time you got the ball she came at you, laying tackles that you would normally walk off easily, but today it had all hurt more, all been so much rougher. The third tackle had you woozy and unable to walk in a straight line, so you’d been accompanied off the field onto the sidelines where you’d resided for the rest of training.
When training had finished you’d disappeared into the change rooms, hoping that you would be able to slip out before everybody else as you’d done for the last week of training.
Instead though, when you were just finishing getting changed you were cornered by the couple, Leah pinning you down to the bench with her hands so you were unable to get up.
“You’ve been avoiding us.”
You kept your eyes on your feet, unable to look at the soft eyes of the two women.
“I’ve just been busy.”
It was a white lie, one you were sure that the two women saw right through.
“No you haven’t, you’ve been avoiding us and neither of us can figure out why.”
Leah’s words felt like a hot iron against your brain, the words branding into your skull.
Lia’s hand fell to your chin, pulling it up from your feet so you were forced to look at the couple.
“I haven’t been avoiding you.”
Leah rolled her eyes at you, the blonde woman not even acknowledging your blatant lie.
“Yes you have, and now you're avoiding it, you haven’t talked to us since before the break and you’ve clearly not been looking after yourself, so what’s up, y/n/n?”
You bit your lip, trying your hardest to pull your eyes from Leah but her hold on your chin making it hard.
“Fuck off will you?”
It was the same aggression you’d been hiding behind all week, the same aggression you’d been using to push everyone else out. It was malicious, cut throat, everything the two women knew you weren’t. You were hiding behind it as a coping mechanism, and they knew it. So whilst it worked at pushing the rest of your teammates out, it did nothing but make them more concerned about you, their hearts clenching at the way your muscles tensed against Leah’s hand and the way your face thrashed against her grip, she didn’t let go though, to scared that if she let go they’d never be able to get you back again.
“You know that I won’t sweet, we care about you too much, so what’s up, tell me, you know you can trust me.”
You shook your head against her hand, burning tears pooling in the corners of your eyes, tears that you refused to let fall, you were on emotional lock down, too scared to let a single one fall, because you knew that if you did it would just end up worse.
“Fuck off, fuck off, fuck off.”
Your words were murmured like a ritual, like a reminder to your brain that you needed to push them out, you needed to push them out so they could stay pushed out of your brain.
“Pushing us out isn’t going to work, bunny.”
Lia’s voice was softer in comparison to Leah’s, attempting to coax you into some kind of comfortable submission that would ice out the anger leaking from your body. She was the water to Leah’s fire.
“I’m fine.”
Leah rolled her eyes.
“I find that hard to believe,” Leah frowned at the little tinge of something roll across your face and her confrontation, “The bags under your eyes tell me that you haven’t slept properly in at least the last week, you’ve lost weight and you were so dizzy early that you looked like you hadn’t drunk water in a month, so you aren’t fine and your hiding it, which means your even less fine, so I’ll ask you once again what’s up?”
You finally managed to free your chin of Leah’s grip, standing up quickly from the bench and almost managed to slip past the two women but one of Lia’s muscular arms managed to catch you around the waist, securely bringing you to her side, holding you down against it.
“Not so fast liebling, Lee asked you a question and you are going to answer it.”
“Nothing’s up.”
It was clear that neither of the women believed you.
“Rightyo then, you’re coming home with us, Jonas’ orders.”
You frowned deeply again.
“No, I don’t have to go home with you, I have my own home, I am a fucking adult I don’t need you two babysitting me.”
You watched as Leah frowned steadily at you, picking up your bag and her own before nodding at Lia who began to tug you along behind them.
“If you want to play this weekend then you will come home with us, you’ve clearly not been taking care of your own health and until you do, you need supervision, call it babysitting if you’d like, I’d call it hanging out with your best friends but whatever works for you.”
You cowered slightly at the passive aggressive tone that Leah used towards you, her voice cutting deeply into your brain, leaving a deep enough impression for you to get the message that this decision had been made for you and you didn’t have a say in what was happening. So you let them lead you to Leah’s car, let Lia buckle you into the backseat and then slide in beside you and didn’t object as Leah started to drive you back towards her house.
Most of your nights and weekends had been spent at Leah’s house, a few weeks ago you two had been inseparable, you’d grown up together, the two of you inseparable Milton Keynes girls. When you’d moved away from home you’d been each other's first roommates, you’d always wanted more but you’d been too afraid to compromise your friendship. Then somewhere along your careers Lia had entered your friendship and the three of you had very quickly become inseparable. There had always been tension between the three of you, drunken kisses shared between all of you, handsy exchanges that you’d always pawned off on the two other women just being touchy. Apparently though they had been more than just touchy for each other, and you couldn’t help but feel a little bit left out, like they were experiencing a whole other level of your relationship that only the two of them would feel.
When you’d pulled up to Leah’s flat you’d felt a part of your stomach drop, the anxiety of having to be in a house with the two women setting in and making you feel sick. Lia’s hand had found it’s way to your knee cap, squeezing it slightly. When Leah parked her car the two of them exited the vehicle, Lia apparently being tasked with carrying all of your bags and Leah being tasked with getting you inside.
She’d walked around to your side of the car, unstrapping your seatbelt and pulling you up out of your seat by pulling you up by your armpits. You went limp against her, all of the emotions, all of the angry shields, all of the fakeness and disregard for your general health making you well and truly spent, your body had identified you were no longer in danger, no longer in a space where you had to put up shields and it had come to the conclusion that you now no longer had to do that. So you let Leah man handle you up the stairs, let her tug your shoes off at the door and drag you across her floorboards, until she managed to get to her couch and sit the both of you down on it.
She sat herself down first, getting herself situated on the lounge before laying you down in between her legs, so your head was resting steadily against her chest. Your body still in its mellowed out state, your brain floating in a sort of haze that you couldn’t even begin to comprehend. Eventually Lia rejoined the two of you, freshly showered and dressed. She came bearing three cups of hot cocoa and slotted herself in between Leah’s legs and my own, criss crossing on top of my feet. The pressure felt good, relaxing, and calming. Lia passed me one of the ups and I took a tentative sip, the feeling of the warm chocolate slipping down my throat, nothing besides complete divinity.
“So, what’s really up, hm?”
Lia’s voice was as soft as silk, gliding through the room and falling gently upon your ears.
“Nothing’s up.”
Your voice was gruff in comparison, nothing close to anything that was happening in this room, your tone felt out of place, just like you felt in between the two. Like you were an unfit jigsaw piece.
“Honey, I don’t know why you feel like you need to lie to us, but you don’t, whatever it is we can sort it out, you know that we’d never judge you right?”
Lia’s words were so soft, so smooth, so calming and yet they did absolutely nothing to calm the feelings inside your soul, the feelings of complete yearning for the two women that now seemed completely forbidden.
“It’s stupid.”
You felt Leah’s head lean over your own, looking down at you from her place from above you, one of her eyebrows raised in questioning.
“Nothing you feel is stupid, bunny.”
The nickname bunny came from when you and Leah were kids. You’d been a fluff ball as a kid, a fluffy ball of blonde hair that had somehow ended up with Leah nicknaming you bunny. It had somehow stuck throughout your teenage years and your years at Arsenal, as much as it riled you up.
“I don’t want to talk about it.”
You felt like a kid, with the two women looking down at you as if you were their child.
“Too bad, we are. Whatever it is has clearly taken a massive toll on your health and wellbeing and we can’t have that. It helps to talk, so talk to us, talk to us like you did a few weeks ago.”
You pushed yourself out of Leah’s arms, standing up in her living room and beginning to pace in front of the two women, your heels digging into the material of the carpet.
“You want to know what’s up? You two go to Ibiza for a week, a trip I would have gone on if I didn’t have family commitments. You come back and the two of you are fucking dating, you didn’t tell my anything, I didn’t even get a fucking phone call to say, guess what your two bestfriends have gotten together. It’s messing with my head, because we were all touchy and handsy, we all made out with eachother and I pawned it off as the three of us just being close, but turns out it wa just the two of you and I’m a fucking third wheel and now I just feel like you’re tugging me along because you feel bad for me, not because you actually give two shits about our friendship.”
Leah’s arms stopped you from pacing, making you realise that tears were now slowly dipping down your face at a steady rate. Leah tugged you back down into her arms, wrapping them both around you to secure you to her chest.
“Bunny, bunny, take deep breaths for me, it’s okay.”
You shook your head against her body, thrashing and pushing against her grip but she refused to let you go, not when she now knew how much she’d hurt you now.
“It’s not fine, it’s not fine, you two love each other and I love you both but you don’t love me, you don’t want me, not how I want either of you, not how I feel for either of you.”
You felt Leah take a deep breath from behind you, her own tears nor brimming in the back of her eyes, now beginning to feel the true depth of her and Lia’s actions.
“Bunny, we both love you so much, more than you would ever know and I’m so sorry you’ve felt this way, I’m so sorry that we never communicated anything with you. Me and Lia, we love you, we’ve always loved you, hell I’ve loved you since we were 5. The last few years, we’ve been trying so fucking hard to get you to realise, to get you to understand the magnitude of how much we love you. But you never did, the drunken kisses, the secret glances and touches, we thought it was all platonic for you and after a while, the two of us began to think that we were waiting for nothing, so in Ibiza we bit the bullet, we decided that we couldn’t wait around for a person who didn’t reciprocate our feelings. I am so sorry we never saw it, I’m so sorry that neither of us were confident enough to just ask you the question, but we’re going to work it out now, we’re going to make it all work out, I promise you.”
Your body relaxed fully against Leah’s, all the fight disappearing as Leah’s words sunk into your skin, stretching across your skin like a layer of silk.
Lia clambered her way up the sofa, squishing you between Leah and herself and pressing a gentle kiss to your forehead.
“Liebling, it’s going to be okay, we’re going to sort this out, and Leah and I, we are going to spend every day making it up to you, everyday proving just how loved you are, ich verspreche.”
Everything fell into place for you, maybe everything wasn’t perfect right now, maybe there was still a lot of things the three of you had to work out, but you didn’t feel out of place anymore between the two women, you felt perfectly in place, like your jigsaw piece had finally feel into place.

Highs and lows | Lia Wälti x Sister!Reader
Warnings: Reader is a type 1 diabetic and experiences both hypo- and hyperglycemic events. I hope all the medical talk is right!
Woso masterlist | Words: 1.3k
-----
One of the things you loved to do outside of football, was going on walks with some of the girls on your team. When you and your sister Lia made the move to London, you had found a second family in your Arsenal teammates. The friendships you made here went beyond the pitch, and you were forever grateful to have gotten a place amongst them.
Today you were joined by Lia, Steph, Viv, Beth, and Leah. As well as Myle and Calvin, the dogs were both running around the park as the rest of you were talking.
“Oh hi Myle girl, do you want me to throw the ball?” The dog had dropped the tennis ball into your lap, so you got up to play with her. You made a quick stop to grab your water bottle before you ran back to the dogs. Myle had so much energy, so she kept running up and down the field, while Calvin stayed closer to your side. You throw the ball for Myle again, but your vision goes blurry right after. You knew the feeling all too well, and sat down slowly. Calvin moved closer to you and started barking. Steph looked up at the sudden loudness from her dog, who usually is rather quiet, and notices you on the grass.
“Hey Lia”, Steph didn’t even have to finish her sentence, the tone of her voice told Lia enough, she looked over to you and rushed to your side when she saw you were on the ground.
“I'm here.” She reaches for your hand, while reaching for her phone with the other. She taps the device to the patch on your arm, letting it read your glucose levels. You had been diagnosed with diabetes type 1 when you were a kid, so the symptoms were very familiar to your sister, and to the team now as well. “It’s low.” By now she didn't even have to tell you what she was going to do, as she was with you for a lot of your highs and lows. She grabs a juice box out of her bag, and tells you to drink up.
“Here, lean into me.” You heard Leah's voice behind you. Her hands on your shoulders guided you into her. The girls knew that there was nothing they could do for you, and that they would just have to wait for your glucose levels to get back up, but that didn't mean that they wouldn't try to make it as comfortable for you as possible.
Slowly but surely you started feeling better, the blurred vision faded, and you felt a little stronger again. While you had gotten used to the hypo- and hyperglycemic events, they were still a little scary to experience, because you'd never know when one would be more severe.
“Come on, let's get you home.” Lia extends her hands to you, after you let her know you were ready to get up. Once you were up, she hugged you tight, always a little scared of the events herself.
“Why don't you come to our place?” Beth offers, “We live closer, you can rest there.” You agreed instantly, the less you had to walk right now the better. Back at Beth and Viv’s place you find yourself slowly drifting to sleep cuddled into Viv’s side, with Myle on your chest.
You’re woken up by the smell of one of your favourite dishes lingering in the air. “Hey, how are you feeling?” Viv asks when she notices that you were awake again. “Good enough for that delicious meal Lia is cooking up.” The girl you’re still laying against chuckles, “Ah good, you’re back.”
You looked around the room to find Leah, Steph, and Calvin had left the home, while Lia was in the kitchen with Beth. Though, you knew your sister did all the cooking, because Viv always loved to tell you how bad of a chef Beth really was. You got up and joined the rest for dinner.
The next few days your blood sugar levels didn’t have any major spikes, there was the occasional high and low, but nothing that wasn’t quickly fixed.
On game day you were rushing out of the house, cause you forgot to put your alarm. You rolled out of bed, hopped in the shower, and quickly changed into your match day outfit, before you headed to your car.
You knew it was stupid to skip meals, because it would most likely influence your blood sugar levels later on, but right now the only thought on your mind was getting to the stadium on time. Which luckily you managed to do, you headed into the locker room where everyone was about ready to start warming up. After quickly putting on your cleats, and your training kit, you followed the team out.
“Everything alright?” Your sister asked as she put her arm on your shoulder to warm up her legs. You nod, “I overslept. Forgot to set my alarm, but I’m all good.” You continue warming up together, before running some drills with the rest of the girls.
On the pitch everything was going great until it wasn’t. You felt very shaky, and were sweating more than during a regular game. Trying to push the feelings aside only worked for a few minutes, with one tackle you were on the ground, and your body fully gave into the high blood sugar. Both Lia and the medics came rushing your way.
“You need to check her glucose levels.” Your sister instructed. The medic already had a phone in their hand to tap it to your patch. “We’ve got her Lia, don’t worry.” The phone quickly gave the glucose levels, and showed they were very high.
“I’m going to give you an insuline shot, to get your levels down quickly.” You simply nodded, not caring how they would lower your blood sugar, as long as you would stop feeling this way. After the shot, your body started slowly feeling stronger again. The medics walked you off the field, and sat you down on the bench. Steph sat down next to you, and you leaned into her side. She took the bag of nuts the medical assistant handed over, and opened the bag for you.
When the halftime whistle blew you headed into the locker room, while Steph went to warm up with the rest of the bench.
“What happened?” Your sister’s worried voice rang out the moment you sat down. She didn’t even let you answer the first question, before she continued. “Why didn’t you say something sooner? You know how bad it can get if you don’t treat your highs and lows on time.”
“Since I was in a hurry this morning I kind of forgot to have breakfast. I swear I was going to eat something when I got here, but you were all ready to warm up, so I forgot in the rush again.” You knew that skipping meals wasn’t good for your glucose levels, and you really didn’t do it on purpose, and you needed Lia to know that. “I should’ve said it sooner, but it was almost half time. I thought I would be alright until then.”
Lia uncrossed her arms, and the angry facade fell. “Please don’t ever scare me like that again!” She sat down and put her arm around you, happy to know that you were alright again. You listened to Kim and Leah discuss the tactics for the second half of the game, and made your way back to the bench when it was time to head back again.
The team ended up winning the match. After the second half you felt a lot better again, so you walked the victory round next to your sister, who was happy to have you properly on your feet again.

lost | k.c.c.
kyra cooney-cross x reader | 2.7k | after a few days of feeling lost, confused and being distracted at training, kyra decides to confide in lia about her feelings for you
ˏˋ°•*⁀ this is part of the pair of pests universe. thank you for being so patient with me on this part! i know it's taken a while but i'm still thankful for all the support :)
‘Kyra, the goals over there. Maybe we need to put some big arrows pointing towards it for you,’ Alessia laughed, watching Kyra miss the goals yet again. None of her shots today at training made it anywhere near the goal, which ignited the harmless comments from some of her teammates.
‘Maybe if you weren’t daydreaming about a certain Catley then you’d get one,’
‘You’d think you’d be hitting the back of the net constantly if you wanted to impress her,’
Kyra’s head shot around after the comments from her teammates, making sure neither you or Steph were anywhere within earshot. She really didn’t want you or Steph to hear the teasing comments. The comments weren’t unusual. There had always been the odd comment every now and then. But since realising and accepting her feelings for you, the teasing comments felt like they had intensified. Bordering on overwhelming, since Kyra’s head was everywhere but at training.
It had only been a few days since the other night when Kyra had the realisation, but it had been messing with her head a little bit. The days at training Kyra was noticeably different. Nothing was going right for her. Her mind, a million miles away. You were the only thing on her mind. She was confused and distracted.
One part of her didn’t want to ever risk changing your friendship by confessing her feelings for you. She didn’t ever want to lose you, you helped Kyra more than you would ever know. Kyra was scared that you would distance yourself from her if she ever said anything.
But another part of her knew that eventually she wouldn’t be able to keep pretending that she didn’t have feelings for you. Kyra knew that one day she would have to confess her feelings for you and face a possible rejection or leave your life without ever knowing if there was a possibility that you could like her back.
Though Kyra felt foolish everytime she thought you might feel the same. Thinking that she was getting ahead of herself and trying to see something that wasn’t there just because it’s what she wanted. It would be the ideal situation, but she knows to keep her hopes low. Besides, things like that only ever seem to happen in the movies, and this wasn’t a movie.
It was a lot for Kyra. Lia could see that. She had always kept an eye on Kyra, ever since she joined arsenal. Making sure to try to create an environment where the younger girl might feel safe and supported no matter what was going on, ‘Hey are you alright?’ Lia took the opportunity while they were resting on the side watching another group of girls take over the drill they were running through.
Kyra was sitting on a ball sipping on water when she felt Lia’s hand on her shoulder and the question directed at her, ‘Yeah, I’m fine,’ Lia saw the way Kyra looked around before answering. Like she was seeing who was around before she replied. She could feel how tense Kyra was just by the touch on her shoulder.
‘Come on, partner with me,’ Kyra smiled softly and followed Lia. The further the two went from the main group the more Kyra visibly relaxed. Lia and Kyra continued doing partner drills, joking around and chatting amongst themselves. The distraction was welcome by Kyra, since Lia came over she’d only been focused on training and hadn’t let her mind wander back to you or anything that was overwhelming her mind earlier. It wasn’t a complete fix but the temporary distraction was nice for a bit. Even though it had only been a few days Kyra was slowly starting to feel like she was losing her mind.
‘Did you want to come over?’ Kyra hesitated a little. She wasn’t sure if any of the other girls would be around, not knowing if she could handle being around a lot of people right now, ‘It can just be the two of us. No pressure, you just seem like you need some time away from everyone where it’s more quiet,’ Lia quickly added when she noticed Kyra’s hesitation.
Kyra thought it over for a minute. She was also supposed to hang out with you again, but honestly Kyra could use this to help her, maybe help to settle her thoughts. She felt that maybe she could trust Lia with her thoughts and feelings, and maybe Lia might have some advice for the younger one, ‘Yeah I’d like that. I just need to sort something out and then I’ll be over, thank you Lia,’
Lia pulled Kyra into a hug, ‘You don’t need to thank me. It’s what friends are for, I’ll always be there for you,’

You were in the locker room getting changed after training, headphones on trying to decompress after the session today, when you felt a familiar pair of hands rest on your waist and head lay on your shoulder.
You smiled and reached up to take off your headphones, ‘Hi Ky,’ Your voice was just above a whisper. Though your smile fell a bit when you turned your head to look at her. Kyra had a small smile on her lips but you could tell something wasn’t right. Kyra’s smile seemed slightly forced, like something wasn’t quite right but you couldn’t pinpoint exactly what it was. She didn’t seem upset or anything, Kyra just seemed off in a way you couldn’t describe.
‘Hey,’ Kyra whispered back, she somehow always made rooms full of people feel like it was just the two of you, ‘Somethings come up, can we rain check?’ Kyra pouted slightly, feeling bad for cancelling on the plans the two of you had.
Your eyes glanced down towards Kyra’s lips where you noticed the little pout she was giving you. You thought it was cute. Looking away biting your lip slightly before glancing back at Kyra, trying not to let your eyes drift again and giving her a small reassuring smile, ‘Yeah of course Ky. Is everything okay? You can always tell me anything, you know that?’
You felt Kyra cuddle into you more, her arms fully wrapping around your waist, ‘Thank you, but it’s nothing for you to worry about,’ You felt Kyra’s breath against your neck with each word she spoke. Your heart was racing a bit more than usual, your hand soothingly rubbing along her lower arm that was around you, ‘You’re too sweet to me,’ You heard Kyra sigh, barely above a whisper. You felt your cheeks heat up but chose to not comment on the last bit she said.
‘I’ll see you tomorrow the girls are all going out, you’re still coming?’ You were hopeful that whatever was going on with Kyra wasn’t impacting her enough to miss out on a night out with you and the girls. Specifically, you didn’t want to miss out on spending a night with Kyra.
‘Yeah, I wouldn’t miss out on that,’ Kyra knew she had to let go of you at some point, but being around you made her feel better. You help make all her problems feel so far away. You just make Kyra feel better, like nothing else matters in the moment, ‘Wouldn’t miss out on a night with you. I’ll see you tomorrow,’ Kyra mumbled out quickly. Without hesitation, without thinking, Kyra’s lips were on your cheek, giving you a small kiss before pulling away.
For the both of you it felt like a natural reaction, like something Kyra had done a million times before. It wasn’t something completely unusual for your friendship but it felt different. You stayed in place even while Kyra had left grabbing her things on her way out.
‘Y’know might want to be a bit more careful,’ Katie’s voice next to you brought you back to reality, leaving behind any thoughts you were having about your interaction with Kyra. Confused by Katie’s comment, you turned your head towards her furrowing your eyebrows, ‘You and Kyra, unless you’re gonna tell Steph,’
‘Tell Steph what?’ Your voice was low and if any one else was listening they would be able to hear a slight panic in your tone, ‘We’re best friends, Steph knows that. That’s all,’ You raised your eyebrow at Katie before continuing to pack away your things.
‘Okay, sure,’ You rolled your eyes, you didn’t even need to see her face to know she was smirking, ‘Just saying, no one would care. We just want the best for everyone here, even the pests,’ Katie patted your back, a slight rub while you smiled at her comment, a slight laugh slipping past your lips.
‘I’m happy Kyra’s my best friend,’ Katie gave you a nod, you sounded like you were trying to convince yourself more so than anyone else. But there was nothing anyone could do to push along the progress, you had to realise and accept your feelings in your own time. Soon enough you were on your own again but not for long, only until Steph called out for you to see if you were also ready to leave.
‘Everything all good with Kyra?’ Steph asked you once you had both settled into the car. She noticed Kyra seemed a little bit different throughout training. She wasn’t completely her normal self. Barely anyone could get a smile out of Kyra and Steph kind of missed Kyra’s mischief during training.
‘Yeah, you know she gets more clingy when she’s tired’ You shrugged. The lie easily comes out of your mouth. It wasn’t a complete lie, the truth being you really had no idea what was wrong with Kyra. But you didn’t want to think about that. That your best friend who always tells you what’s wrong or just anything like that, didn’t tell you. You know she doesn’t have to tell you everything, but you couldn’t help the pit that formed in your stomach wondering why she didn’t confide in you like normal and if you had done anything wrong, ‘Drive faster I want to see Calvy,’
**•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚
‘I’m not going to push you to talk about it. If you need just the company without talking about what’s bothering you then we’ll do just that,’ Lia was the first to speak since Kyra entered Lia’s apartment. Kyra settled on one of the stools at the kitchen counter, watching Lia finish off the last bits to the dinner she was making for them, ‘Just know I am here for you. All the girls are, they just have a different way of showing it. Whenever you’re ready if you want,’
Kyra looked at Lia with a small smile. She was incredibly grateful for the friendships she’s made within the team in a small amount of time. Especially the friend she’s found in Lia. Unlike the others Kyra would potentially consider talking to about her feelings, she knows that Lia isn’t one to outright tease or make fun of her. The others mean well but they can be a bit much. Sometimes all Kyra wants and needs is someone who will listen or just be around without the teasing comments.
‘I know they mean well but the teasing can be a bit much,’ Kyra’s voice was small. She always tries to brush off every comment, it was easier before she realised she had feelings for her best friend. Kyra could reduce any teasing comment down to it not being true. But now it was true, everything felt different.
Kyra helped Lia carry everything down to the table, ‘There’s no pressure. I want that to be clear,’
‘I think I like,’ Kyra started but cut herself off shaking her head, picking at the food in front of her, ‘No, I know I like Tiny,’ Kyra couldn’t keep it inside and Lia always made her feel calm and safe. Enough that Kyra blurted out the main thing that had been bugging her the last few days, ‘But I don’t know. I’m scared. I don’t know if I should tell her, I don’t want to lose her or risk ruining anything. She might not even like me back and then I’d feel stupid for telling her. What if she hates me for this? Why does it all have to be so hard and confusing?’
Lia continued to just listen while Kyra poured out everything that was on her mind. Once Kyra started she kept going until the weight had lifted off her shoulders and she felt like she could breathe again. Kyra kept looking down at her food, slight tears coating her eyes but not enough for any to fall. Part of her is glad to finally get everything off her chest but also she wishes the ground would swallow her whole so she doesn’t have to face what Lia might say.
‘Kyra, one thing I know is that Tiny could never hate you. Anyone can tell how much she loves you. Even if it’s just as friends she wouldn’t leave you. I know you know that,’ Lia’s voice was soft but also firm, wanting her words to sink into Kyra’s head. Regardless of if you liked Kyra the same way, Lia was right in how much love you have for Kyra even just as a friend, ‘No one but her could tell you whether that love is more. But it’s understandable to be scared. You know in your heart when you are ready to tell her, don’t force yourself but listen to yourself. I’ll be right here the whole time no matter what happens,’
Kyra nodded along, offering Lia a small smile in appreciation to her words. Being able to talk through this with someone was a better decision than bottling it up until Kyra eventually exploded, ‘Thank you Lia. It’s hard to listen to myself but I guess that is the only thing I can do. At the end of the day I’ll still have everyone regardless and I have to remind myself of that,’
Lia smiled back at Kyra, ‘Now…tell me, what is Tiny like?’ Lia smirked trying to lighten the mood and take Kyra’s mind away from the bigger more serious thoughts that were no doubt racing through her mind.
‘Where do I start?’ Kyra joked, a wide smile taking over her face just at the thought of you, ‘I kind of wish I was with her tonight, I miss her smile and laugh. She just gets me and knows me in a way that no one else ever could. I’ve never wanted more with someone as much as I want this with her,’ The rest of the night Kyra spent gushing over you, while Lia just listened and occasionally made a teasing comment amongst the endless support she made sure to keep reassuring Kyra with.
**•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚
You were laying on the couch. Calvin laying on top of you, more like squashing you but dog cuddles were your favourite part of the day, they made up for not getting any Kyra cuddles, ‘Stephy, you expecting someone?’ You heard the knock at the door, Calvin pushing hard on your stomach making you wince when he got up to stand at the door tail wagging.
‘Oh yeah, Leah’s coming over for dinner,’ Steph poked her head out from the kitchen to tell you before disappearing to finish off the food she was cooking.
‘Hey Le, when are you gonna learn to cook?’ You smiled, laughing a little while greeting Leah with a hug before letting her into the apartment, ‘Figured you just kept Wally as your personal chef,’
‘You’re a little shit you know that,’ Leah rolled her eyes, shaking her head at you, ‘Kyra’s at Wally’s and I wasn’t allowed to intrude so here I am,’ Your smile dropped slightly after hearing that Kyra was with Lia. Kyra cancelled on your plans to be with Lia instead. It was weird Kyra didn’t tell you. You were sure that if Kyra liked Lia then she would’ve told you about it.
The thought of Kyra liking someone didn’t sit well with you. Your stomach churning at the thought, ‘We weren’t even your first choice,’ You clutched your heart, faking being offended at Leah’s words. Joking around to cover up how you were really feeling, ‘No more Calvy cuddles for you,’
You grabbed the dog up into your lap away from Leah. Holding onto Calvin a little closer and a little tighter. Hoping the dog in your lap would help ease the thoughts swirling around in your mind.

If you’d like, would you do a small follow up on the Lia x Leah x Reader fic. Where Leah snores. And you and Lia can’t sleep because of it
Snores
Leah x reader x Lia
You and Lia can't sleep
Part 1
~~~
You were just about to drift into a peaceful sleep, cocooned in the warmth of Leah and Lia. But just as you were settling in, the familiar sound of Leah’s snoring began to break the serene silence.
At first, it was just a soft, rhythmic sound. You nudged Lia gently, whispering, “Is Leah snoring?”
Lia chuckled softly, her eyes still closed. “I think so. Hopefully it will end soon"
But as the minutes passed, Leah’s snores grew louder and more disruptive, echoing through the room like a foghorn. You shifted uncomfortably, trying to find a position that would block out the sound.
“Okay, this is getting ridiculous,” you said after a few more minutes, half-laughing, half-frustrated. “I can’t sleep with this going on.”
Lia sighed, propping herself up on one elbow to look at Leah, who was blissfully unaware. “You’re right. Let’s move to the guest room. At least we can get some peace there.”
“Good plan,” you agreed, carefully untangling yourself from Leah’s embrace. You both tiptoed out of the room, trying to avoid waking her as you grabbed a couple of pillows and blankets.
Once in the guest room, you flopped down on the bed, relieved by the sudden silence. Lia joined you, and you both settled in, finally able to relax.
“Isn’t this much better?” you whispered, glancing over at Lia, who nodded with a smile.
“Much better,” she replied, snuggling closer to you giving you a quick kiss. “Goodnight, love.”
You drifted off again, enjoying the comfort of Lia beside you and the absence of Leah’s snoring.
~~~
The next morning, Leah woke up to an empty bed, blinking at the sunlight streaming in. She stretched and yawned, feeling slightly disoriented. It was then she noticed the silence and the lack of her two favorite people.
“Where did they go?” she muttered, frown fully on her face, swinging her legs over the side of the bed. She made her way to the guest room, opening the door quietly. The sight that greeted her made her heart swell, you and Lia were curled up together, peaceful and undisturbed in your sleep.
Leah couldn’t help but smile, but as she stepped further into the room, she noticed the way you both looked so cozy. She then started to frown again as she tried to think about why the two of you would be sleeping in the guest room. You had only done that when you were mad at her and she didn't think she had currently done anything that you would be mad at.
She tiptoed closer, leaning against the door frame and crossing her arms. She shook her head, trying to figure it out.
You stirred slightly opening one eye to see Leah standing there with an amused grin. “Morning,” you said, your voice still sleepy.
"why are you sleeping in here," Leah asked.
"You were snoring and we couldn't sleep" you chuckled as you sat up and Lia started to stir.
Leah rolled her eyes playfully. “I don't snore. You’re both ridiculous.” You just raised your eyebrow at her.
As you both got up, stretching and yawning, Leah pulled you in for a hug. “I’m sorry if I kept you awake." she said as she buried her head in your neck.
"I'll forgive you if you go make me some breakfast."
"Don't let her in the kitchen alone," Lia replied from the bathroom where she was brushing her teeth.
"I'll forgive you if you order us breakfast."

I'm not a loser!
Pairings: lia wälti x teen reader, caitlin foord x teen reader, awfc x teen reader
Massive thinks to @alotofpockets for her help with motivating me to write and put this out. Sorry it's taken a while, but I wasn't overly keen with how I wrote it & even now, I feel like it's not my best work.
I hope you like it though, and please let me know your thoughts of what you'd like to see happen in this mini fic series!
Things really hadn’t been going in your favour today at all, in fact it had been a completely terrible day at school and you didn’t realise that it was only about to get worse.
Since the day started, it had been horrible from the very minute that you woke up, overhearing the latest argument between your two mums’ on the phone as they fought about you, but you didn’t care to listen to any of the conversation; It always seemed to land back around on the same topic that you argued about, and that subject being you.
It seemed like your mood only worsened when your latest test was handed back to you, graded with a big fat F circled in red around it and it’s not like the disappointing look you received from your teacher helped matters either.
You were quick to shove the paper in the bottom of your backpack, at least then you could try and forget about it; The last thing you wanted was to see the disappointed looks from either of your mums, after you promised them that you would try and keep your head down.
But sometimes it was easier to say that then actually do it.
It’s not like you have ever been a troublemaker in school, but it’s been tough to keep on top of everything and now you’re finding yourself both in trouble at school and at home; You were currently grounded after the latest stunt that you pulled over the weekend with Kyra, which you didn’t find completely fair, but your mama seemed to think different, so what did you know?
The rest of the morning at school hadn’t exactly been great either, you’d somehow managed to land yourself with a break time detention for the forgotten piece of English homework that you were supposed to hand in, but it wasn’t meant like you did it on purpose when there’s added pressure from football games and training, not to mention the messy home life situation that you currently faced, so it's’ safe to say that your school work has now been slacking ever so slightly.
By the time that the bell for lunch went, you were more than ready to escape the classroom. However, when you were walking out of the classroom that’s when it all changed and you came face to face with your tormentor.
“Oi, Y/L/N!” You flinched at the familiar voice of your bully shouting at you from behind, just as you thought that you had been doing so well to avoid them only for you to turn a corner and see them.
You could say that life’s never really been the easiest roller coaster for you, your past homelife hadn’t exactly been fantastic and you’d never even felt true happiness until you found your home at your childhood dream club with a new family that welcomed you with open arms.
The day you signed your first ever professional contract, your life changed completely. When the opportunity arose for you to play for the Arsenal womens’ senior team, you couldn’t help but leap at the chance to play for your dream club, even if you were still quite young.
It was all you’d ever wanted to do.
Despite the rough start in your life, you’ve necessarily not been one of those types of kids to act out, you just get on with life without a single complaint, even with the challenges that you’ve faced in life.
Just like the current situation right now, your own personal tormentor.
You weren’t bothered at first when it was tolerable, it was just harmless name calling and sure, the names’ spilled were mean but you had enough sense just to ignore them but then it got worse and eventually the names turned into physical assault.
You just didn’t know what to do anymore.
“Oi, don’t ignore me, Y/L/N. I know you can hear me, you stupid twat” Your own personal bully continued to shout aloud to get your attention.
Mustering up all the courage that you had, you bit your bottom lip and spun around to face your bully although they were tall and had that slight advantage over you, “I… I wasn’t ignoring you. I just didn’t hear you” Your quick to lie and cover your tracks.
“Whatever” The older girl muttered, rolling her eyes before she continued to push you into a nearby locker, “Listen, stupid. The chemistry homework needs to be handed in today, do you have it or not?”
Your eyes widened in a sudden panic, you’d completely forgotten about it when you were so busy with football and trying to keep up with your own school work that you pushed your bullies’ to the back of the pile, and now you knew that you were gonna pay for it.
“Well, do you?” You pulled out of your thoughts by a sharp pinch on your bicep.
“Um, no… I forgot about it” You quietly admitted, although you knew it was an instant mistake right there and then.
“You forgot? Huh, you really must’ve been born stupid then” The bully spat venomously as they tower over you with a menacing look on their face, “Well, I guess we have a problem now then, don’t we?” they sneer at you.
A single second later, you hissed out loud in pain at the instant impact of being thrown directly into the locker behind you, you can’t help but flinch as an automatic response to the violence that is being directed towards you while you peer up with wide eyes as they tower over you with a venomous look in their eyes.
“You’re not going to fight back, you wuss? What a loser!” They taunt you before they throw you directly into the locker again, “Huh, no response, no defence. You really are a sad little lost orphan aren’t you” they continue to taunt.
You don’t know what it was inside of you but it was like something snapped. You couldn’t take it any longer of the harsh comments spewed or the violence, you didn’t have to put up with it either.
“I’m not… I’m not an orphan” Your usual calm approach to your bully has gone as you can’t help but growl at the older girl while clenching your fists tightly, “I’m not a loser either, I’m not— I’m not!”
“Oh, yeah? Prove it then, loser” They smirk, almost challenging you.
You couldn’t even explain the next few minutes even if you tried.
It was like you blacked out in a state of absolute rage, your fists flying at them as you remembered the self-defence that your mum had so helpfully taught you in case you ever needed it in a situation like this, and now it finally came in handy against them.
“I’m not… I’m not a loser!” You exclaimed loudly as you lifted your own fist up and swung it in the direction of their face, “I am not… I am not a loser!” You’d lost control of your anger like a flick of the switch, lashing out and throwing punches at your bully whos’ been endlessly taunting you for the better part of the last several months.
Even though you know you were bound to be in trouble for it, you couldn’t care less right now because punching your bully and sticking up for yourself was definitely worth it in the end.
And maybe this way, you’d be able to get the attention of both your mums’ in the same room, so that was another positive reason to punch the girl square in the face.
“Yes, that’s fine. I’ll be there as soon as I can. Bye” Lia exhales a sigh as she ends the most recent phone call with your head teacher this week, having asked her to come down to the school after you’d landed yourself in trouble.
“What’s going on?” Leah looks at the older women confused as the trains alongside her in the gym.
Lia exhales a sigh and slips her phone into her pocket, “That was the school again. Y/N is in trouble” she explains to the blonde.
“Again?” Leah's eyebrows furrow, confused, “What happened this time?” she wonders.
“I don’t know, but I guess I’ll find out when I get down there” Lia mumbles, standing up from the bench that she was previously sitting on, “I seriously don’t know what’s been going on with her lately. It’s just one thing after another” she adds.
“I guess Y/N/N is having a rough time, maybe?” Leah comments that sounds more like a question, not used to your recent streak of wild behaviour compared to the calm girl you are usually.
“What’s going on with Y/N?” Caitlin overhears the conversation and the mention of your name, before she makes her way over to join the two women, “Is she okay? Has something happened?” she asks, confused.
Lia exhales a sigh as she has to face her ex-girlfriend and speak to her, “The school just called, Y/N is in trouble” she explains once more as she pinches the bridge of her nose.
“What? What happened?” The Australian woman frowns and digs into her own pockets, pulling her phone out to check for any missed calls from the school, “The school hasn’t phoned me about it” she mumbles, furrowing her eyebrow.
“Well there’s no point in phoning both of us when we’re at the same place most of the time, is there?” Lia remarks, not having the time nor energy to explain anything further.
Caitlin continues to frown and shake her head in disagreement, “I should still be kept in the loop with what’s going on. I hardly hear what’s happening with her at the minute” she states.
“You are told what’s going on Caitlin, I don’t keep things from you” Lia exhales a sigh as she tries to keep calm while talking to her ex-girlfriend, “What more do you want me to do?” she asks.
“Aye, that kid. What’d she do this time?” Katie joins in on the conversation, not sensing the seriousness of it all, “Bad mouth the teacher or get caught cheating on a test?” she jokes.
Lia purses her lips in annoyance with the Irish woman, “It’s not funny, Katie” she states, bluntly.
“Oh come on, so the kid gets into a bit of trouble every now and then. It’s not a big deal” Katie insists, rolling her eyes.
“You’re clearly not seeing the point of how serious this is then, Katie” Leah steps in as she can see Lia getting herself annoyed with Katie’s mock teasing, “This isn’t funny, you know Y/N/N and you know that she’s never usually like this at all!” she remarks.
Katie holds her hands up in mock surrender, “Relax, eh, Williamson, will ya? I’m only joking here, there’s no need to take the high ground about this now, is there?” she says and she can’t help but rile the blonde up.
Leah scoffs in disagreement with the brunette, “You know, I wouldn’t be surprised if her behaviour as off lately was down to your antics when she’s around your house on the weekend, cos’ she certainly doesn’t act like this when she’s at Lia’s house” she remarks.
“My antics?” Katie fires back in disbelief.
“Y/N/N acting up isn’t anything to do with how she is at ours” Caitlin chips in and defends the pair of them, “I don’t know what is going on with Y/N/N but this isn’t something that’s neither mine or Katies’ fault” she tells them.
“Oh, really?” Leah scoffs and raises her eyebrows before she looks at the Swiss woman, “Do you want me to come down to the school with you?” she offers.
“Would you?” Lia glances at the blonde in appreciation.
“Of course, I would–” Leahs’ agreement is cut off.
“No way, absolutely not!” Caitlin interjects, very much in disagreement with that decision, “If anyones’ going down to the school with you then it should be me!” she states.
“Caitlin–” Lia begins to speak.
“No, I’m Y/N’s mum just as much as you are, Lia” The Aussie woman insists, not liking the idea of being pushed out of the picture, “We should go down to the school and deal with this together, as a family” she mumbles.
“We broke up Caitlin, we’re not a family anymore” Lia quietly tells her, shaking her head in disagreement, “I don’t think it’s a good idea for us to go down to the school together, Caitlin. I will go with Leah and then I’ll just tell you what happens” she tells her.
“Why not? No offence, Leah but this hasn’t got anything to do with you!” Caitlin objects to the idea as she looks at the blonde.
“I’m going there to support Lia and that’s important right now” Leah explains to the Aussie woman.
Caitlin shakes her head completely in disagreement with the idea, “No, no– I should be there, Y/N is my daughter, not yours!” she points the finger at the blonde firmly before she looks at Lia, “Fine, if you don’t think we should both go down there then why don’t I just go down there? In fact I’ll take Katie, we’ll take her back to ours afterwards instead” she declares.
“Oh yeah, Y/N/N loves Coopurr!” Katie exclaims, in agreement with the suggestion.
“There we have it then. I’ll find out what’s been going on with Y/N/N and then we’ll go back to ours” Caitlin insists with the idea.
Lia shakes her head in disagreement, “Oh, and make it seem like I’m the bad cop when you bring her home?” she questions.
“That’s not what I’m trying to do here, Lia! I’m just trying to help you out here and be the parent that Y/N/N needs– She’s my kid too, you know?” Caitlin shouts back in response, earning the attention of a few girls in the gym, including their captain Kim.
“I’m not saying that she isn’t. I know she is but it’s easier to do it this way” Lia explains, avoiding the looks from the rest of the girls in the gym who look concerned.
“Is it? It just seems like you’re pushing me out of the picture!” Caitlin makes her feelings evidently clear.
“Caitlin has got a point, Lia. You can’t stop her from seeing Y/N/N like you’re trying to do that” Katie chips in, looking at the Swiss woman.
Lia turns to look at Katie in disbelief, “Stay out of this, Katie. This isn’t your argument to get involved in” she says as she begins to collect her stuff.
“Okay, alright, that’s enough. You’re all causing a scene in here” Kim speaks up loudly as she walks over to them as she overhears the conversation between the 4 adults in the gym, “What is going on?” she asks, glancing between them all.
“Y/N got into trouble at school” Lia begins to explain.
“Yeah, but I wouldn’t have known that unless I didn’t overhear Lia and Leah talking about it” Caitlin huffs and rolls her eyes.
“I told you, I was getting round to it” Lia fires back as she scowls at her ex-girlfriend.
“Yeah, right” Caitlin mutters in disagreement, “ “And now she won’t even let me come down to the school with her, when I have every right to do that!” she adds.
“It’s just better this way, Caitlin” Lia explains to her ex-girlfriend, exhaling a sigh.
“Caitlin has every right to be there for Y/N” Katie chips in defending her girlfriend.
“Why are you getting involved in this, Katie?” Leah questions the Irish women.
“Why are you getting so involved, Leah?” Katie fires back at the blonde.
“Seriously, Katie? You just seem to find this whole thing hilarious like it’s one big joke!” Leah mutters, shaking her head, “I’m right to want to be there for Lia in this” she adds.
Kim shakes her head in disbelief at the 4 of them acting like they are, “Alright, that’s enough. Okay?” Kim interjects in an authoritative tone of voice as she looks between the 2 exes, “Regardless of you all blaming each other, it’s not going to help you figure out what is going on with Y/N/N unless you work together” she tells them.
Lia’s facial expression softens in realisation, “You’re right, Kim. I didn’t think about it that way” she admits as she looks at her ex, “Look Caitlin, I’m not trying to push you away like you think I am. I just think it’ll be difficult for us to both be there, right now. I’m sorry and I know Y/N is your daughter and you do have every right to see her, just as I do but I would prefer to do this with Leah by my side instead, okay? I’ll text you and let you know what is said, but please understand I find it better to do this way” she tells the woman quietly, finding it hard enough to be in the room with her ex-girlfriend without dealing with anything else.
Without saying anything more, Lia and Leah left the gym as they quickly notified Jonas about the recent events, before they head out to the car to make the way down to your school to find out what trouble you’ve landed yourself in this time.
You knew the single minute that you raised your fist at the girl it would end up in dire consequences, however now finding yourself sitting outside the head teachers’ office with bruised and bloody knuckles, you remain hopeful that this latest stunt was something that both of your mums would be coming down to talk to the head teacher.
Although you still can’t help but wonder how it got so bad?
It wasn’t like you could talk to either of your mums though, because most of the time when you spent time with either of them, you didn’t really want to mention the other in case it brought up any sort of hurt feelings, but you needed them both together.
You didn’t really mean to get yourself in that much trouble today, in fact you’ve never really been one to cause many problems at school if you’re being honest, but you were just so sick of them pushing you around and calling you endless names that you finally had enough and lashed out.
As soon as you hear the sound of footsteps nearing you, you remain hopeful as you look up with eager eyes, hopeful to see your two mums together.
However, you’re severely disappointed when its’ your mama and Leah instead.
This wasn’t how it was supposed to be, you didn’t want Leah to be here with your mama; You wanted your mama and mum together, but why did that seem so impossible to do?
“Hi mama” You mumble, biting your bottom lip as you avoid the disapproving look on both of their faces, “Hi Leah” you acknowledge the presence of the blonde, whos’ stood there obnoxiously chewing gum.
“Hey kid” Leah greets you with a worried smile.
Lia exhales a sigh and shakes her head, “What have you done this time, Y/N/N?” she questions.
“It wasn't my fault” You try to defend yourself, picking at the skin around your nails.
“I find that one hard to believe Y/N. This is the third call I have had from your school this week” Lia reminds you, moving to sit beside you on the uncomfortable plastic chair, “Do you want to tell me what happened before I go in and speak to your head teacher?” she asks.
“Nope” You shake your head in disagreement.
Leah furrows her eyebrows and sits on the other empty chair, “What happened, kid? It’s not like you to be in this much trouble, or acting out in general” she tries to get answers out of you.
You shrug your shoulders carelessly and bite your bottom lip, “Dunno, is mum coming down as well?” you wonder, curiously as you look at Lia.
“No, Y/N/N. It’s just us– Is this why you’ve gotten yourself into trouble at school, so your mum and I would come down together?” Lia asks in realisation, putting the pieces together about it all.
“Maybe, sorta. I don’t know, cos’ it didn’t work anyways” You mumble, deflating your shoulders as you stand up to head into the office after the head teacher calls you all in; Leah and Lia share a look of confusion with another, finding it hard to understand why you would do that as they follow you in behind.
The result of your behaviour in school leads to you being suspended for the next 2 weeks, which your mama isn’t best pleased with at all if the silence is anything to go by as you trail behind them to the car.
Every time you have tried to talk, you're met with a stern look from the Swiss woman which makes you shut up pretty quickly.
“Mama?” You try your luck to get her a response.
Once again, you were met with complete silence on the car ride back apart from the faint sound of music playing.
“Okay, I know I messed up but how much longer am I going to receive the silent treatment for?” You huff aloud as you peer out the window as your mama drives out of the school car park.
Yet again, complete silence.
“Come on, seriously? The fight wasn’t even my fault in the first place!” You whine in protest, huffing and crossing your arms in the back of the car.
Leah clicks her tongue as she sits in the passenger seat, “You shouldn’t even be fighting in the first place, Y/N” she states sternly.
You resist the urge to roll your eyes and not snap back at the blonde, who you really don’t know why she’s even here, you wanted your mum instead, not her.
“I had my reasons to do it, Leah!” You mutter as you glance out of the window in the back of the car.
“Hey! Be nice” Lia glares at you to knock it off.
“What? I’m not doing anything!” You huff in annoyance and fight the urge to kick the back of her seat, “And I did have a good enough reason!” You still continue to insist.
“I don’t want to hear any of the excuses, Y/N” Lia exhales a sigh, shaking her head.
“But if you just let me explain–” You're cut off before you even have a proper chance to speak.
“Explain what, Y/N/N– How can I be so sure about what you’re telling me when you’ve been acting out like you have been for the last several weeks, huh?” Lia scolds you as she looks in the rear-view mirror, “I don’t know what has even gotten into you anymore, Y/F/N!” she states.
You kinda know that your mama does have a point in saying that, because despite your own rough upbringing with your biological parents, you’ve never really acted out or gotten into much trouble until recently, however with how its’ been the last several weeks, you can’t deny that you haven’t been acting out in an attempt to get the attention both of your mums together in the same room.
It just didn’t work this time round.
You just didn’t know you wouldn’t be able to control the anger any longer and you would end up lashing out like in the way that you did. No matter how many people tried to talk to you to figure out what was going on, nobody really understood what was going on right now.
You can’t help but scoff in response, “You won’t even hear my side of things though, at least I know that mum would take the time to listen to me. Why can’t I go and stay at her house instead?” The words slip out of your mouth without much realisation and it’s definitely loud enough for both women to hear.
“Y/N, your mama wants you to stay with her” Leah chips in.
“Why? And why are you even here when this has nothing to do with you?” You glare at the blonde, although you know it’s not her fault for what’s happening, but despite that you’re a stubborn teenager and refuse to admit when you’re in the wrong sometimes
“Y/N” Lia gasps in shock, “Don’t be rude, you don’t speak to people like that” she scolds you.
“It’s the truth though” You mumble and technically, you’re telling the truth about that one.
The Swiss woman shook her head in disagreement, “There’s no need to be so rude, okay? I won’t stand for it, so apologise please– And you know when it comes to you, that your mum and I are both on the same page” she tells you.
“Are you? Cos’ all you ever seem to do is fight these days” You remark snidefully.
“That’s not true, Y/N/N” Lia frowns at you.
“Yes it is, you guys always argue about me– I can’t even tell you how I feel, so I was only defending myself like how mum taught me to do” You explain to the older women.
“What!?” Lia exclaims in shock.
“Mum taught me self defence in case I ever needed to use it. Definitely showed them that today cos’ now they won’t mess with me again” You grin proudly to yourself.
“Are you… Of course she bloody did” Lia mutters, clenching her hands on the steering wheel.
“Calm down, Wally” Leah rests her hand on the older womens’ thigh.
“Mama, you’re clenching your fists. You might want to just chill out a bit” You note in concern as Lia looks angry and you realise you’re going in a different direction back home, “Where are we going?” you ask.
“Change of plan, Y/N. We’re going to see your mum after all” Lia states as she grips the steering wheel tighter.

Loyalty and Love // Leah Williamson
warnings: dead family member
Leah was a gooner through and through, never been seen in a different club jersey than the arsenals as she was Arsenals biggest fan.
She went through all the youth team stages until she reached the senior team. Her body was full of loyalty to the club while your career path was very different - something Leah did not like about you.
Your career started at your hometown club near Bavaria, Germany, until FC Bayern München became aware of you. You were the only girl in the league and still scored the most goals. So to be fair, your actual club career started at the FC Bayern academy. You started there at the age of 10 and played there until the age of 16.
At 16 years old, you said good bye to Germany and played for Ajax in the Netherlands. You played two years for them and enjoyed every second with the Ajax family, yet after those two years, you transferred to AS Roma. You had many transfer offers, inside the league and outside of it but even though, you had transferred a few times already, you had one rule: never play in the same league with a different club. Roma sent you on loan to Olympique Lyon where you won the champions league and the league, each time as a key player of the team. OL offered you a real contract which you gladly signed - winning the treble. After three years in France, where you had learned a lot technical stuff but also had developed further as a person, it was time for a new challenge. A new club and country.
Spain was calling, FC Barcelona to be exact. After a teary good bye, you left for good - it was time to shine at Barcelona.
Your talent was magical, you could score from every angle, no matter the position and the fans loved you.
You had been nominated for numerous awards, won many of them yet still you were the kindest person. You always made time for the fans, signed jerseys, took photos and chatted with them. You were down-to-earth.
Of course you had haters, people not liking your volatility but you didn‘t care. You had a mission and would continue it, no matter if you had no fan at all or a the whole woso community behind you. So while your job was to score goals, you only had one goal in mind.
You loved the Spanish weather, you loved the City, you loved the girls. They made Barcelona your home and more than that. Playing alongside Alexia, Mapi, CGH, Aitana and literally every one on the squad was amazing. It was the way they played and the mentality they had that fascinated you.
The first season at Barcelona was the season you won the Ballon D‘or, while still being so young. The combination of the playing style that you learned in the individual clubs in each country also made you Fifas the best. You were the best.
On the pitch, every opponent was afraid of you while off pitch they adored you. It broke your heart to leave Barcelona, the City you adored. So why did you leave? It was the thing you had to do. The thing you promised yourself at the age of 16 when you left Bayern - Arsenal would be your last stop ever. The thing you promised someone. Your retirement club, you would stay there forever - as long as they offered you a contract.
-
While everybody had greeted you with open arms at your arrival, the skipper kept her distance, only talking to you when necessary. Leah was skeptical to say at least, some things bothered her about you. She didn‘t appreciate your transfers nor respected them. Every country? Really? Why Arsenal? Her childhood club? How long did you want to play here before you stab the team in the back? When another country became interesting? Maybe the US? Sweden?
And then the tape. The strip of tape on your shoulder, it didn‘t make any sense to her. It didn‘t seem like you had problems with your shoulder nor an injury in the last few years (which she had obviously checked) so why the tape? She - well actually everyone, never saw you without. When it slowly started to look rancid, the next second it looked like new again. When you changed, even in the shower after playing it was always there. Were you hiding something?
Leah didn‘t like you, it was clear as the day but (even if she would never admit it out loud) you were a fantastic footballer. Your feet could do magic with the ball, from assisting to scoring to defending, everything you did on the pitch was faboulous. That, she had to appreciate, maybe you would help Arsenal to win the league.
This season. who knows how long you‘ll stay.
-
After your first month with the gunners, you knew for sure, your heart and brain realized it for the first time: after years, you had finally fulfilled your promise.
You felt peace, nothing more. Maybe you could forgive yourself someday.
-
Over time, Leah‘s dislike towards you turned into much more - hate. When you were near the blonde, she would glare at you or leave the room,
the moments you tried to talk to her, to get to know her, she ignored you and
she would rudely comment on the things you said.
After months of trying, you just stopped. If she doesn‘t want to talk to you that‘s okay. You didn’t have to be friends - colleagues, that‘s it.
-
"When I visited Greece-" you started to tell Lia about the beauty of the country when her work wife cut you off, "wow, Y/L/N, a country you didn‘t play in, really respectable" Leah spat, rolling her eyes. Lia smacked the back of her head, her behavior unbelievable.
It was no secret that the defender felt some sort of dislike towards you - noticeable for your team mates and especially for the swiss as she knew Leah like the back of her hand.
"Ignore her" the midfielder stated, asking you to continue your story.
"It‘s fine" not in the mood to tell the end of your Greece-story, you left the two LW‘s joining Vic as she juggled with the ball.
"You really need to stop that" the swiss international grumbled, "she‘s actually really nice"
"And her loyalty sucks! I won’t let her ruin this club"
The brunette watched the blonde march away, arms crossed.
-
Leah‘s behavior continued like that, rude comments sent your way, cut off mid sentence and ignorance accompanied you every single day. But your mindset was clear: you couldn’t be bothered by her.
You understood that Leah was skeptical of you, you‘re new and played for several clubs but on the pitch you played your absolute best each game. You deserved at least some respect.
-
"Where‘s hopper?" Leah asked - you’re never late. Her new nickname for you showed her antipathy towards you yet hiding it well enough, so other people outside of the team wouldn’t get suspicious.
"She‘s on her way home for a few days" Lia replied calmly, not wanting the blonde to explode.
You had texted Lia about your plans earlier this morning - she was your friend after all. Just because she was great friends with Leah, didn‘t mean you couldn’t be friends with her too. Like I said, you were friends with the whole team, just not with Leah. Besides you enjoyed talking to Wally as it was in your mother tongue, conversation flowing with an ease.
"What the fuck?! She does know we‘re playing a derby this weekend!" The England captain growled, marching out of the changing room, already calling you. Who do you think you were?
Her calls went straight to voicemail which only angered and frustrated her more. why were you so infuriating?
The defender was quick to approach to Jonas - what was the thinking letting you leave? Did he even know about this?
"Why did you let her leave?!" the woman asked loudly and harshly. You made her blood boil. "Is she playing on Saturday? You should kick her out of the squad! This behavior is unacceptable" she scolded.
Even though Leah knew the team would need you, she was too caught up in her anger.
"Who are you talking about?" the coach asked rather confused. Was he missing something?
"Your new signing" she huffed out frustrated, how can he be this clueless?
"She‘s not here. Apparently at home in Germany, did you know about this?"
"Oh! Yes, I know about this. It‘s in her contract"
"What do you mean? In her contract?"
"She‘s allowed to leave, no matter what day, at-" he looked at his watch, checking the date, "at the 20th of March for three days. One day to get there, one day to stay, one day to leave" he explained.
"Why?"
"I can’t tell you that"
-
On game day, you arrived on time at the stadium, your favourite defender already impatiently waiting for you in the locker room. When you entered the room, she was about to stomp over, telling you how your behavior was unacceptable and jeopardizing the team but something told her not to. Your shoulders were sagged, your eyes red and puffy as you had bags under them ad well - it looked like you had been crying for awhile and not sleeping either. You looked small and sad, but not the sadness-sad, somehow it looked like grieving-sad or guilty-sad. Leah didn't know if her analysis was correct, after all, she didn't know you as you weren’t friends - not even close to that - and to the others it seemed like you were your usual self.
As you walked past her to get to your cubby, she grabbed your hand. "Are you okay?" she asked, genuinely concerned about your well-being. Her stone cold persona towards you was gone for the moment, eyes scanning your face - what was wrong? How can she help you?
"I‘m fine, Leah"
Her hand had a firm grip on yours yet it was so gentle and soft - it was almost like you could feel her 'caring' about you.
But you knew, she only cared about the team and not about you.
"Thank you for asking, though" you smiled a bit, before leaving her touch and walking over to your cubby.
You didn't want to be rude to her because it seemed like she was dead serious about her question. Besides, if you wanted to have at least a somewhat normal work-relationship with her, this might was a step in the right direction.
However, you had to admit, the feeling of her holding your hand was quite nice and made you hope for eventually being friends one day.
-
The game started with you on the bench as agreed with Jonas. It was his decision if he wanted to put you in or not and you respected either way. You were thankful enough that he had shown so much understanding about your family situation, so you wouldn’t be the one to complain about not playing.
Next to you on the bench sat the one and only Leah Williamson, who watched the game very carefully, attentively and critically - the same as you did. In your heads, the two of you analyzed what happened on the field, every bad pass, every unused space or loss of the ball was noted while you tried to come up with solutions. While Leah stated her analysis to everyone at half time, you talked to the relevant person what they should pay particular attention to - most opponents had the same playing style, even if the tactics were changed. Overall, it wasn't the played game in general that mattered, but rather the individual players on the field. If you watched them long enough, it wasn't too difficult to outplay them and their team - Leah and you knew that.
Both of you got subbed on in the 74th minute, the defender doing her job brilliantly while you ran down the wing. The game seemed like it had shifted as soon as the two of you took in your positions. Chances were created, space was used, passed connected perfectly - in all honestly, Tottenham didn‘t have any control over the match anymore, thanks to Leah and your critical eyes.
The score changed when Leah sent a ball flying towards you. With one quick motion, you dribbled around the defender, firing a shot on goal - Tottenhams goalkeeper stood no chance.
That evening a special chemistry was born between your favourite defender and her favourite hopper.
-
If you were hoping that the 'how are you' question meant something, you were wrong.
Her arrogant attitude got worse, as did her mean behavior towards you. You thought that maybe, just maybe, the link up on the pitch earned you enough respect that she at least refrains from commenting. Yet she questioned everything you did and not only that: you were regularly asked whether you would leave the club at the end of the season or whether you would leave one season after that. At this point you felt helpless, you didn’t know what her problem was with you - she seemed like a nice person towards everyone else.
"Come on, Leah, leave me alone" you grumbled as she stood next to you in the locker room with her arms crossed. Especially today she was getting on your last nerve. You hadn‘t slept well the last few days and the bickering was getting more and more exhausting.
"You weren‘t concentrated today" she stated, "this isn‘t acceptable at Arsenal."
"Leah-" Wally tried to stop her but there was no chance. She wouldn’t hold back.
"No, she has to know. She‘s played at enough clubs to know that she has to give 100%!"
"As if you haven‘t had a bad day before"
"I can keep things professional"
"No you can‘t! If you could, you would leave me the fuck alone. You are all judgy but never played somewhere else than Arsenal, so get a fucking grip. At least I have the experience of other leagues"
The whole changing room gasped, Katie smirking, happy that you stood your ground. Leah’s behavior was ridiculous. And this time she took it too far.
On an emotional level, your week had been absolutely shitty.
It‘s like a haunted house, only you‘re the ghost.
On an physical level, you were exhausted.
So, neither emotionally nor physically you could deal with her at the moment.
"Watch your mouth-" the defender started before you cut her off.
"No, you will watch yours" your pointer finger angrily poked her chest, "Listen to me closely, I will not repeat myself. You, Leah Williamson, will stay away from me. I‘m not your friend, I’m not your mate, I’m your colleague, so treat me with damn respect" with that you grabbed your stuff and left.
Leah was breathing heavily, your anger awfully attractive.
"Why are you being like this?" McCabe asked, the girls in the room waiting for an answer. This couldn’t be just because you played for several clubs and she was questioning your loyalty - there had to be more.
"Because she‘s hiding something! I won‘t let her ruin this club" she growled, sitting down in her cubby.
"What should she be hiding?" Steph questioned, you seemed like an honest and truthful person.
"She literally left for three days out of nowhere!"
"She did that when we played at Barca together too" Laia added. She had never thought about that before. But Leah was right, it was unusual to not show up at training when you weren‘t injured or sick, especially since it was in the middle of the season.
"See!"
"I still don’t see the problem" Steph shrugged her shoulders, "she‘s a lovely person and you would know that if you gave her the chance to show it" with that the Australian left. You were such a lovely girl, at least someone had to defend you. Partly, Steph could understand where Leah was coming from - that girl was bleeding Arsenal red.
After Steph had left, the other girls started to leave too, Leah and Kim the only ones left.
Leah was sorting through her bag, checking if she had everything she needed when Kim broke the silence, "Her brother died when she was 16. The 21st of March is the day of his death"
Leah stopped her movements, "what?" she turned around, the colour leaving her face.
"That’s all I know"
Kim grabbed her bag, walking past the blonde, about to leave, "I’m disappointed in you, Leah. We're a family here, and you didn't show her that. Have you ever thought about why she played in every league? You’re criticizing but not questioning. You doubt her loyalty, but she hasn't transferred within the league - doesn't that show her respect for the club she‘s played at?"
"Kim-"
"Have a nice evening"
Alone in the changing room, Leah tried to process the information, now it made sense that you were at home for a few days. It was his anniversary.
She had been a complete ass to you without knowing your story - she still didn't. However, for the first time she felt something like interest. She wanted to get to know you. She wanted to know your story. But most of all she wanted to apologize. You seemed like a sweet girl.
Of course, most of her questions were still unanswered: the tape? Why did you transfer so much? You‘re young.. but for the first time she didn't care. She fucked up and was determined to start over.
I‘m disappointed in you, Leah.
-
At home, the defender sat on her couch, eating some food while the tv was showing her favourite show. This wasn’t right. She couldn’t wait till tomorrow. She had to talk to. Now.
Leaving her food on the table, the blonde called Lia, asking where you lived. The Swiss was hesitant to tell her as she wanted to protect you but Leah sounded genuinely upset about her own behavior.
"Please.. I- I‘m in the wrong here, I know that now. I don‘t want her to go to bed angry or feeling like she‘s not a part of the Arsenal family."
After that, the Swiss texted your address, the England captain already on her way.
When she arrived at her destination, she felt nervous. She rang the bell, hoping you wouldn’t open. She wasn‘t prepared at all - she didn’t know what to say or how to make things up with you.
In that moment, she realized maybe it was a hasty decision to just show up in front of your door and apologize. It wouldn’t be deserved to accept the apology straightaway.
"Leah?" you said surprised.
"Hopper" it was almost inaudible as you had knocked the air out of her lungs. You looked breathtaking. No, it wasn‘t something fancy - you wore an oversized shirt and some shorts while your hair was down but you looked naturally beautiful.
"What are you doing here? I told you to leave me alone"
"I- um.. I came to apologize?"
"Are you asking me that?"
"I came to apologize"
"Go home, Leah-"
"Give me a chance-"
"No. Look, I don’t know why you are here or what your problem is but I don‘t want to play your sick games" you stepped back, closing the door, leaving the defender dumbfounded in front of your home.
"I know about you brother!" she called, helpless on what do to. But as soon as the word 'brother' left her mouth, she regretted it.
The door was thrown open, "what did you just say?!" you were angrier than ever. Your family had always been a sensitive subject.
"I know about your brother" the audacity Leah had to repeat her words was unbelievable.
She squeezed herself inside, looking around.
"I swear to god, if you don‘t leave-"
"I‘m really sorry" she turned around, you didn‘t know if she was talking about your brother or how she had treated you and neither did she. Either way, it made you furios, you were balling your hands into fists, trying to stay calm.
"Is that him?" she asked, walking to the picture frame on your shelf, "what‘s his name?"
It was a picture of the two of you as kids, both of you wearing Germany jerseys as you grinned in the camera - one of your favourite pictures.
And that made you explode. How dare she come to your home, implying to apologize which she wasn‘t and then act nosy.
You marched over, grabbing her at the collar of her shirt and pushing her against the wall, "leave me alone" you weren’t shouting but you voice was loud, clear and firm, almost intimidating.
Her breath hitched, "I can‘t" you were so close to her. She could see all tiny freckles, those which only appeared when you were in the sun. She was intrigued by you. Her eyes darted around your features, the wrinkle between your brows slowly disappearing.
You didn‘t know what came over you, but in less than a second, you smashed your lips against hers. Teeth were clashing, all anger and frustration purred in, hands gripping and pulling as both of your minds went blank. Neither of you could think about anything else but each other.
-
The day she stood in front of your apartment, wasn’t brought up again yet you had to admit something shifted in your dynamic that night.
The chemistry you had on the pitch only grew, Leah assisted while you scored countless of goals.
Her behavior wasn‘t as bad as before anymore, she started to greet you, say good bye or other acts of kindness yet every once in a while a snarky comments left her mouth.
After Arsenal had won the conti cup against Chelsea, the celebrations were on the rise when you entered the club. You saw some girls dancing around, some lingering at the bar and others sitting at the table.
You joined the girls at the table, sitting down next to Stina. Lost in conversation with the Swede you didn‘t notice a blonde defender standing right behind you with her arms crossed and a pout on her face, "you‘re sitting on my seat, hopper" she grumbled, the pout increasing.
"Sit somewhere else" you replied, not looking up as you continued your conversation which had been rudely cut off by the English woman.
"There is no seat left"
This time you turned around, looking up from your seat as the defender glared at you.
It was the first time, you had seen her tonight and she looked absolutely gorgeous with the outfit she was wearing.
"I think you‘re old enough to deal with that, aren‘t you?" you smiled sarcastically at her, once again turning to Stina.
"I am" she stated, a smug smile plastered on her face. With the alcohol in her system, she simply sat on your lap, one arm going around your shoulders while she started her own conversation. Weirdly confused but somehow not minding, you let her be, your arms going around her waist to support her. No one said anything about, most of them not realizing what was happening or simply not caring - as long as you weren‘t fighting everything seemed fine.
The night continued like that, chatting, dancing and enjoying the time.
"Could you let me get up, please? I‘d like to have another drink" you asked the defender who immediately got up, "can you bring one for me too?"
"Sure"
She smiled shyly before you left, sitting back down, Lia looking at her with a 'tell me right now what‘s going on' expression.
"What?"
"Seriously? What‘s going on between the two of you?" the Swiss asked, Leah‘s eyes already back on you as you stood at the bar, ordering.
"Nothing"
The defender’s brows furrowed when a man approached you, standing way too close to you, her jaw clenching.
She saw you taking a step to the side, intending to signal the man that you were not interested. In responds, he only stepped closer.
Angrily, the blonde stood up, marching over, "is everything alright here?" her hands settled on your waist, pulling you protectively towards her.
"Everything‘s alright, mate" the man slurred, stepping forward, "I’m just getting to know your friend."
Leah was quick to step in front of you, her hand holding onto you to know you‘re safe, "leave my girlfriend alone or I will break your nose" she threatened.
The man held his hands in surrender before he left.
In an instant, she turned around, cupping your cheeks, checking if you were alright.
"I‘m okay" you stated. What just happened? Girlfriend? Weird man? Break his nose? Girlfriend?
"Here‘s your drink"
She took her drink, resting her hand on the small of your back, guiding you back to the table.
What‘s just happened?
Lia was the only one left at the table while the others had joined the dancers. You were about to sit down on an empty chair when the blonde pulled you on her lap - roles reversed.
Raising an brow, "There are enough empty seats this time"
"I don’t care, hopper"
"I‘ll join the rest on the dancing floor" Wally said, winking at Leah whose cheeks turned red.
"You‘re so beautiful, you know" the England captain said, cheeks turning a deeper shade of red.
"How many drinks did you have?" you giggled, your fingers absentmindedly tracing patterns along the back of neck. "Not enough to punch that guy" she growled.
You laughed, "you‘re cute when you‘re jealous" not so sober yourself.
She squeezed your hips in responds, resting her head on your shoulder.
Both of you enjoyed the silence that came over you, also enjoying the closeness you shared in that moment. Leah wasn‘t forgiven and she knew that yet she couldn’t stay away from you. Somehow you were addicting.
For once, it was nice not to argue with the blonde but to enjoy her company. She was cute, you couldn’t lie.
"I‘m very sorry for my behavior" she whispered, "I’d like to start over again" you turned towards her, eyes locking, "I’m not asking for your forgiveness, just for a chance to show you that I’m not an awful person. You are a part of the Arsenal family and I’m sorry for treating you otherwise"
You let her words sink in. She was right, she couldn’t ask for your forgiveness because too much had happened already but starting over seemed like an opportunity for the both of you.
"I’m Y/N"
-
The next weeks, Leah was the sweetest person to you. Each morning, she greeted you with the widest smile and when she left the facility, she always made sure to tell you good bye. She treated you with respect and listened to everything you had to say. She was amazed by the stuff you had to say. She couldn’t care less if it was something as simple as your favourite colour or an opinion on something. Everything you said was important to her.
Soon the small talks turned into longer conversations until they were endless.
In matches, when somebody fouled you Leah was the first to stick up for you, arguing with the opponent before she argued with the ref (of course after she had made sure you were okay.)
Slowly but surely, Leah earned your trust and appreciation.
She wasn‘t just anybody - she was Leah Williamson and once she had set her mind, you couldn’t stop her from doing it.
She wasn‘t the Leah you had met at your arrival - she changed for good. She was much more. She was funny, loving and caring, attentive and respectful - she was actually an amazing woman and your friend.
-
Standing in the kitchen of Leah’s apartment, you made dinner for the both of you while she sat on the counter watching you and eating the ingredients.
The atmosphere was tranquil and relaxed as music filled the background.
Peace.
"His name‘s Sebastian" you turned around, grabbing another ingredient out of the fridge while you avoided Leah‘s eyes, painful stings in your heart. You wouldn‘t cry, not now. "He‘s three years older than me" you inhaled sharply, trying to compose yourself as you continued to cook. "You would have loved him, he was a big Arsenal fan, watched every match" you chuckled, "but was the worst player of all time. He never really was a sports guy anyway, he was rather the calm type of person. He loved to cook - that‘s actually one of his favourite recipes" you nodded your head towards the food splayed out on the counter.
The dish you were making had brought you so much comfort after his death. It felt familiar. Sometimes, you imagined him standing in the kitchen, so concentrated that his brows would furrow as he cut the vegetables or when he seasoned - never a drop too much. He was very particular when it came to cooking, but rightly so, because when he did it, it always tasted absolutely perfect.
"He used to be my best friend"
Your heart broke into pieces saying it out loud. He wasn‘t just anybody - he was your brother, the only man you ever loved and him more than anyone.
The two of you had a special bond, you basically owed him your entire career. Because it was him who kicked the ball around with you for hours,
because it was him who drove with you to training when your parents had to work,
because it was him who always watched your matches,
because it was him who always believed in you, even when you were on the verge of giving up.
He was your biggest supporter, the person who believed you could be the best footballer in the world one day and the one person who made sure that you had a life outside of football.
And even though you would have never shared your charger with him, you would have given him your lungs, so he could breathe.
"What happened to him?" Leah asked, her voice gentle, testing the waters if it was okay to ask or too much.
"When-" you closed your eyes, holding back the tears that were about to fall, "I was at a birthday party. At some point during the night I asked him to pick me up because I wasn't feeling well. He did it without hesitation. On the way home we- we got hit by a car and crashed into a tree. Both of us were conscious but he was coughing and bleeding very badly. It looked very bad. I prayed to every god I knew that they should take me and not him- they didn‘t listen" tears were streaming down your face as you aggressively cut the remaining vegetables, "his last words were 'make me proud' and i remember shouting at him but it was too late. I told him I loved him- he took his last breath with a smile on his face"
Silence filled the room, small sniffles the only thing being heard. You grabbed a tissue, blowing your nose and another one to dry your tears, "I am- was blaming myself for what happened, so I left home as soon as I could"
Leah was listening carefully, her heart aching seeing you in pain and the pain you had been through.
"I always complained about others leagues, because they seemed so easy and everything" you chuckled at the memory, "and he always was like 'you can‘t complain if you haven‘t played there'" mocking him, the most german accent in your voice, "so that’s what I did. I have played in several leagues but I always knew Arsenal would be my last stop"
Everything made sense now, Leah‘s heart broke even more, realizing what an absolute ass she was while you only had one goal in mind - to make him proud.
It was never your plan to ruin Arsenal, you wanted to stay there to fulfill the promise you had made in the night that changed your life.
-
Leah saw you with different eyes now, her heart was beating for you in more than one way. She admired you - for the way you play, how strong you are and how hard life had been for you yet still smiling throughout it.
She had to protect the ray of sunshine and the feisty beast you could be. You weren‘t just anybody - you were Y/N Y/L/N, the best footballer in the world.
The defender was a 100% sure, your brother would be more than proud of you and the woman you became.
But she also knew what she had to do. You deserved an apology, even more than that - you deserved every good thing in the world. And if she could she would take all your pain away.
-
It was in the middle of the night, all lights turned off besides in the kitchen of the blonde defender. She sat at the kitchen table, one sheet of paper and a fountain pen in front of her.
Dear Sebastian,
I’m Leah, Leah Williamson.
I've been playing for Arsenal my whole life. I've had my best and worst moments at the club. All of my best moments had to do with my team, my friends, my family, whereas my worst moments had something to do with my performance or injuries. Unfortunately, because of my loyalty and love for the club, I was blinded from seeing the important things - your sister. I never understood why she had transferred so often - it seemed like she was volatile and didn't understand loyalty and love. But she does - she does that more than anyone else.
Her loyalty was only ever dedicated to you.
She is an incredible person and I’m so sorry for the way i treated her at her arrival (I will tell her that, this time when I’m fully sober and explain everything). But I’m writing you to tell you that I like your sister, more than I ever thought I would. To be honest, that‘s the first time I’m admitting it to someone, I didn‘t even admit it fully to myself - but I do. I like her. And I guess, this is me asking for your blessing.
A blessing that I can treat her right if she lets me,
a blessing that I can always support her,
a blessing for one chance with her.
I know, there is much too make up for and my behavior will never be excused - no apology could be strong enough for what I have done - but I want you to know that I will regret it till the rest of my life.
So while you may be her biggest fan from paradise, I want to be her biggest fan from earth.
I promise to do everything in my power to be the best person she deserves.
Sincerely,
Leah Williamson
With a lighter in her pocket and the letter in her hand, she went outside on the balcony. The night was chill and quiet, the perfect atmosphere as the moon shone brightly. Her nerves were calming down and her mind seemed to find rest as she looked up in the sky, "one chance" she whispered, burning the letter. She watched the ink and paper slowly disappear, the smoke rising into the night sky. She knew it was unrealistic to expect any sign of positive responds but was it wrong to hope? When the letter was fully burned, she waited till the smoke was completely gone before she went back inside, turning off the kitchen light and making her way to bed.
When the blonde woke up the next day, she made her way to kitchen immediately, needing her morning tea. She frowned and froze.
"Hello?" she called.
No response.
She had turned off the light last night, didn‘t she?
She sure did!
Was this her sign? Was this the sign that the letter arrived?
It was his blessing.
-
"Hey" the blonde greeted you with a wide smile when you entered the changing room.
Matching her smile, "good morning" you walked to your cubby.
"What are you doing tonight?" she followed you, the smile not leaving her features. Someone woke up in a good mood, you thought.
"Going home, eating, then sleeping" you replied.
"Do you want to watch the Arsenals men game tonight? With me?"
"Are you nervous?" you asked, the defender fidgeting with her fingers as her cheeks were slowly turning red, "I’d love to watch the match with you."
And if you thought her smile couldn’t have gotten wider, you were wrong - the smile she sent you was from ear to ear.
"Perfect" with excitement in her body, she pressed a peck to your cheek before she happily skipped out of the room, the other girls watching the interaction that just happened closely.
"Are you blushing?" Katie laughed loudly as you embarrassingly turned to your bag, in fact blushing.
-
Half an hour before kick-off you rang Leah‘s doorbell, takeout in your hands. You weren‘t in the mood for cooking and Leah‘s cooking skill were eh, e for effort?, also you had been craving Chinese all day long, so that‘s what you got.
"I brought food with me!" you grinned, pushing yourself inside as soon as the blonde had opened the door.
"What did I do to deserve this?" she asked chuckling at your eagerness as you walked in her kitchen to get some plates and cutlery.
Cheekily, you replied "Nothing, I was just hungry"
Serving the food on the plates, you sat down at the table with Leah, comfortable silence filling the air while the two of you ate dinner.
Something was bothering Leah though, you could tell. Every now and then it seemed like she wanted to say something yet she closed her mouth quickly after.
"I‘m sorry for my behavior" she mumbled, "when you arrived at Arsenal, I mean" you looked up from your plate, meeting her eyes for a brief second, "I was skeptical about your loyalty and it got out of hand" carefully she laid her hand on yours, hoping you wouldn’t pull away.
You didn‘t - you wanted to hear what she had to say.
"I‘m really sorry and I know we started over, but I need you to know how sorry I am, this time without any drink in my system. You’re the most loyal person I know, I just didn‘t notice it"
"Leah" you said gently, "look at me, please"
The defender raised her head, looking at you with unsure eyes, rapidly tapping her foot under the table.
"Thank you for telling me. I guess I would have been skeptical too if I had played for the gunners my whole life" you told her, "I’m not excusing your behavior because it wasn‘t nice or appropriate but I don‘t have any bad blood against you either. In fact, I enjoy your company" you pulled her hand from hers, only to put it against her side profile, softly caressing the apple of her cheek.
Subconsciously, she leaned into your touch, "I‘m very sorry"
"I know"
The unspoken 'why' barrier was finally removed.
-
"Arsenal will win, I can feel it!" the defender stated, flopping down on the couch. With a bowl of popcorn in your hand, you sat down next to her, somehow your thighs touching even though the couch was big enough. "Liverpool is a tough opponent"
"Oh stop it! None of that"
Making herself comfortable on the couch, she turned on the tv, ready to see Arsenal win.
Getting comfortable yourself, you pulled your legs on the couch, leaning towards the armrest on the other side which earned you a glare, "what do think you‘re doing?"
"Oh, sorry" in an instant your feet were on the ground.
"No, what are you doing over there? Come here" she nodded to the space between her legs, signaling you to cuddle her.
With red cheeks and a racing heart, you crawled over, settling between her legs as your body melted into hers, head resting on her chest while her arms wrapped around you.
Leah was sure you could hear her racing heart and even though she desperately tried to concentrate on the match, she just couldn’t. With you in her arms, she wouldn’t ever want to think about anything else. You looked so precious in her arms, eyes fully focused on the tv.
"You are so beautiful" she admired, looking at you with heart eyes.
"What?"
You prompted yourself up, looking at the blonde who was smiling dazedly at you, "you are just so gorgeous" her fingers started to play with your hair as she got lost in your eyes, "let me take you on a date"
It was crazy how the mood had changed - from apologies at dinner to cuddling on the couch to asking you out.
"Okay" you smiled shyly, cheeks crimson red as your skin tingled.
"Yeah?"
"Yeah"
You stared at each other, eyes shining with adoration and passion, both of you slowly leaning in.
When your lips met, the world seemed to stop spinning, fireworks exploding as you melted into each other and Arsenal getting themselves on the scoreboard. She kissed you so gentle and tender - the complete opposite of the kiss you had shared before.
Everything was perfect.
-
After many many dates, the blonde asked you to be her girlfriend. None of your friends surprised at this point - you had always been obsessed with each other.
The two of you had been caught kissing several times, not even trying to hide it. Leah loved kissing you but she also loved physical touch in general, always holding your hand, having her arm around your midsection or her hand on your thigh while driving. She couldn’t get enough of you.
-
"Come to bed" the blonde whined, waiting for you to join her under the covers. Weirdly, neither of you could sleep good at night without being in each others embrace, so it became your routine - either Leah would sleep at your home or the other way around - this night you were at Leah‘s, and obviously you had stolen a shirt from her wardrobe as your pajamas - which she liked very much. You looked so cute in her clothes.
When you joined her, her arms were immediately wrapped around your body as she pulled you close, pressing a good night kiss on your temple.
The next morning, you woke up with hair in your face and a head resting on your chest, the blonde defender still peacefully asleep. You stayed like that for awhile, your hand gently rubbing her back before you slipped out of bed, ready to make some breakfast and your much needed coffee.
Since it was the weekend and your day off, you decided to surprise the England captain with some self made pancakes - you knew she loved them.
While Leah woke up due the feeling of your absence which turned out to be correct, something she didn‘t like. Sleeping without you was awful already but waking up without you? absolutely horrible.
Grumpily, she made her way out of the bedroom, the smell of pancakes hitting her nostrils, lightening her mood in an instant. Following the smell, she found you in the kitchen, only wearing a sports bra and some of her old Arsenal shorts - you looked cute - booping your head to the non existing music, no doubt that you were humming some song. Silently, the defender walked up behind you, her arms smacking around your stomach, "gosh, you scared me!"
"Sorry, baby" apologetic, she pressed multiple kisses on the side of your neck, fingers tracing along your sides.
You inhaled sharply when she traced along the stripe of tape on your shoulder, she had never brought it up before, respecting whatever story was behind it.
"You- you can take it off" you whispered breathlessly, anxiety and fear creeping through your body.
"Are you sure?" her lips kissed the other side of your shoulder, trying to calm you down and ease your mind.
"Yes, just- be careful, please"
and that’s exactly what she was. All of her moves were gentle and careful - you weren’t afraid that it would hurt pulling the tape off but the story behind it.
After the tape was ripped off a big scar was displayed on your shoulder, "it‘s from the car crash" you said, pain shooting through the healed wound. It wasn‘t an injury pain rather the type of phantom pain - suddenly you were back in the car.
"It‘s a constant reminder of what had happened - something that‘s my fault" you admitted, fighting the tears, "I started to cover it up but make up didn‘t work, so the physio at Ajax taped it. And since that day, I do it all the time"
Leah‘s heart broke at the vulnerability she was seeing, your posture seemingly weak and exposed.
"Is this okay?" Her pointer finger traced over the scar..
"Yeah"
..not in a way that made you uncomfortable but in a way that made you feel like you didn’t have to be ashamed of it.
"What about this?" for a moment you didn‘t feel her touch at all before she pressed featherlight kisses over your scar.
"yes"
Tears were streaming down your face, all of your walls broken down now, Leah made you feel perfect the way you are - because you are.
"I‘m proud of you"
Everything came crashing down, a sob escaped your throat and within a second, you were in your girlfriends arms, crying into her shoulder. The tears that you had not allowed to shed in previous years, fell all at once now.
The England captain hugged you through it all, letting you cry as long as you needed - she wouldn‘t go anywhere.
She had promised your brother to do everything in her power to be the best person you deserve and that‘s what she did, does and will do.
She kept her promise and you did too.
Arsenal was always half but never whole, Leah‘s begun to feel like home.

Baby it hot outside // lia wälti
Today the weather in london was fantastic it was the perfect day to go too the beach and tan while also having fun. But lia apparently wasn't feeling it as she kept.
complaining about how it was too hot as she just wanted to stay in where you guys had air condition to keep cool.
But you weren't feeling any of that and had already invited a few teammates to come too the beach with you both.
"Lia it either you come with me or you stay in your pick". You told her getting irritated at how she was acting
"baby it too hot outside why do we need to go". She whined out.
"The weather is perfect and I'm trying to get my tan on wälti so it either you come or i leave you here". You said one last time before heading to get your already packed beach bag
"Oh come on you come from the islands so you're used to the heat".
"Yes but so do you remember when you had us go out in the cold you can think about this as payback".
"Ugh fine let's go but don't expect me to do anything".
"Whatever fits in your boats my love and do me a favor can you carry my water bottle for me". You asked her.
"Yeah yeah already got it let's get going".
Arriving at the beach wasn't that bad expect from earing a complaining lia who wanted to go home as soon as you arrived.
"What wrong with lia she's been groaning from the moments we got here?". Leah asked concerned about her fellow friend and teammates.
"She's fine just didn't want to come out as it way too hot for her apparently". You told her
"What do you expect from someone who's used to the cold".
"Yeah definitely not our best traits".
"For real you both are polar opposite yet get along".
You nod your head agreeing with her statement as. you and lia we're the definition of opposite attractions. who got along very much but sometimes things wouldn't work out.
were you both can't come to a conclusion to agree too.
"Lia instead of sulking about the heat come join us play volleyball cause we're gonna be out for a very long time if you like it or not". an Irish voice said interrupting your thoughts.
"Yeah don't be a bummer wälti". Another one of your teammates added.
"Oh come on guys don't tease her". You said
"Thank you baby these guys don't get it let's show them what we can do". She said before grabbing the ball and throwing it at Katie
"Aye that not fair mate".
"Life isn't fair mccard". She said as everyone started laughing
Lia may have not like the heat but she loved you enough to tolerate the things you liked that's she didn't enjoy.

Closed for maintenance. (Arsenal orgy.)
Smut 18+
Part 5.
After the events that just happened, and so as to not overwhelm me, Leah went to get me a glass of water. While laying on Steph’s chest I heard the filthiest moan I have ever heard in my life. Surprised, I gasped. “ Do you want to go and see?” said Steph. I didn't have enough courage to say it out loud so I only nodded.
Steph then ushered me into the bedroom. Once we got there my jaw dropped. Alessi, the woman behind the moan, was in the middle of Katie and caitlain who were bith fucking her witha starp meanwhile Lia was satting their enjoying the view.
Once she saw me she called for me to join her. At that moment I could truthfully say that the only person I blindly trusted was steph. It was not about comfort, I just relaxed more with her, so when Lia called for me, I involuntarily looked at Steph looking for her approval. “ You can do whatever you want, baby, just remember to use your words.” she said with a reassuring smile. Lia was a person that always intimidated me. Yes she was the sweetest but something about her was scary. “ yes i would like to go over to her.'' I said and trusted my gut.
Since Lia was sitting in an armchair, the only solution was to sit on her lap. Since we were naked and she only had her panties on, I freaked out a little. “ Hey, it's okay if you don't want to, I just want you to be comfortable,” she said. “Youare so fucking beautiful.” i say as my eyes drop to her chest. That was meant to be a thought but I said it out loud, embarrassed I looked away from her. With a swift mood she turned my head back to her hers and kissed me. The kiss was a happy medium between soft and rough. Her hands then find their place on my chest. Surprised, I gasped , which allowed her to slip her tongue in my mouth. After a while we stopped so that she could take another look at my body again.
“ I see Steph marked her territory.” she said pointing at the bruises on my neck. Looking over at the bed, Steph was going down on Leah near Alessia who was asleep. The scene was graphic but comforting.
“Leah opened me up too.” I say bravely.
Lia wasn't as surprised as she was amazed by how quick I managed to gta comfortable.
“ I think this attitude of yours needs some taking care of.” she added.
“ Well you better get on with it or I will seek another source.” I replied feeling bratty.
Lia seemed to get motivated by my sudden bratiness. So she got up and went to a drawer to retry a monstrous looking strap.
“ You are gonna get on her knees and take me in all off me no complaints.” she ordered. This was a new side of him that I never got to see. Not wanting to test her, I got on my knees and opened my mouth in front of her strap. Lia was a professional. She used the starp like it was a part of her thrusting slowly in and out of my month. “ that's a good girl taking me in so well. You can take more common and take more for me.” she said in the most reassuring tone. The starp was the biggest I have everseen or taken. But somehow I was able to take her in. my core was throbbing by the time she was close to coming. All the paradise, the sounds and Lia’s hand massaging my scalp made my clit so puffy and needy. I finished doing what I was told. All I wanted was to please her. I gagged a couple times but that didn't faze her she thrusted in my mouth harder and harder grabbing the back of my head tiger in each thrust. The moment she came was the best one of this entire evening. “ such a good girl made me come. Good fucking girl.” she cooed while breathing heavily.
When I got up from my knees my juices were dripping all over my thighs.
“ I think you need to take care of that.” said a woman with an indistinguishable Irish accent. “Please do.” I replied.
I then headed over to the bed where she laid with her strap pointing upwards.in immediately knew what to do so i sat on her lap and she slid inside of me; I will never the coockiest smirk on her face when my head dropped backwards. I was too overwhelmed to to me so she started fucking me. My hand held on to the head board because of the force she was fucking me with. Katie was rough, the roughest I have ever experienced but somehow that was what I needed at the moment. She kept on thrusting harder and harder i gave up on the head board and fell completely on her;
“ i am going to come.'' I said and without a second to spare I collapsed on her shaking. “ You are the most wonderful slut I have ever seen.” she whispered in my ear before getting out of me.
I could feel any part of my body. I was done for the night. I was the happiest and the most exhausted girl in the world.

Caretaker! Leah Williamson x Little! Reader
whipped up a little (hehe) something for those who wanted more little! action
“Good morning sunshine.”
“Mama!”
Leah peeked her head into the bedroom with a tray of breakfast. There you sat with your back against the headboard with a huge smile on your face. She sets the tray to the side and climbs into bed with you, pulling you into her arms.
“Did you sleep well, pea?”
“Yeth Mama.”
“That’s good baby. Want some breakfast?”
You nod enthusiastically, Leah leans over and grabs the tray with your Froot Loops (a/n it’s the best cereal, fight me) and orange juice. She insists on feeding you, grinning proudly when you finish your breakfast. You were just coming out of a cold, knocked out by a bad fever for two days and were finally on the mend. Leah planned to bring you to training today, there were no important games this week and she was back on the pitch for training once a week now so she could keep an eye on you while you were there. The rest of the girls would happily keep you entertained if Leah couldn’t you’d been missing your favorite Aunty Katie (don’t tell Aunty Lessi.) and had been begging Leah to let her visit. Since you’d been sick, she didn’t want to risk the girls catching it so no one had been over to visit in a week.
You pounced out of bed and ran to the bathroom, jumping up and down excitedly to get started on your day. Leah gave you a nice warm bath and did your hair real pretty (at least she tried to) and before you knew it you were buckled up in her car and on the way to the training ground.
“Can you hold my hand please?” Leah asks as you walk into the grounds. There were cars around, she didn’t want you running off. You hold her hand tight, bouncing off the walls with excitement. Maybe the cereal for breakfast wasn’t such a good idea after all.
“Y/N/N!” yelled Alessia when she saw you both walk into the changing room. You let go of Leah’s hand, running into Alessia’s arms. She was warm.
“Oh, I’ve missed you baby. Is your cold all better?”
“Yeth! Mama let me have owange juth today too! Owange juth is my favowite.”
“Oh such a healthy girl you are!”
“Do I hear me favorite little monkey in there?”
“AUNTY KATIE!” you yell, squirming out of Alessia’s and barreling towards your favorite Irish gal.
“Inside voice, my love!”
“Sowwy Mama, hewwo Aunty Katie!”
“Come ‘ere darlin’. Give me a good hug, I’ve missed ya!”
Alessia lets you go and you hightail it into Katie’s arms. She picks you up easily and spins you around, the whole room grinning when you giggle happily. Alessia pulls you to her cubby and fixes your hair, pulling it back into a nice ponytail and braiding the end.
Leah is already changed by the time you’ve said hi to all the girls and had your hair done, happily taking Lia’s hand as you walked out to the pitch with everyone.
You’re sat with Beth and Viv, they kept you busy with a coloring book you brought along with you. They were resting for the day, Jonas not wanting them to stress themselves before big matches in the following weeks. Viv looked over your shoulder as you colored, Beth softly brushing your fly-aways out of your face.
“That’s not inside the lines, lieveling.”
“Is to.” you insist with a lisp.
“Is not.”
“Viv, leave her be. Your coloring is wonderful, darling. Good job.” Beth scolded and praised, Viv giving her a pointed look.
About an hour in, Leah came over and pulled your boots out of your bag and smiled.
“Ready for some football, baby?”
She helps you pull your boots on, tying them nice and tight. Lotte and Lessi help you stretch and warm up, you were giggling loudly when they started a game of tag with you.
“I’m gonna get you, little bit!” Lotte yells, running after you with Lessi close behind.
“No get me!” you yelled back, barely missing Alessia’s grip. You suddenly crash into a wall and land on your bum. You look up in shock, Lotte and Alessia coming up behind you and pulling you up. They dust you off and smile sheepishly, the wall you ran into apparently scared them.
“What did I say about running off hm?” Leah asked you, pulling off some grass that got stuck in your hair.
“No run wifout Mama.”
“You could have gotten hurt, pea. Don’t do that again, please?”
“I sowwy Mama, peas don’t be mad,” you say quietly, looking at your pretty boots Leah had custom made. They had unicorns on them; they were shiny too!
She tilts your chin up, smiling softly before leaning in to kiss your nose.
“I’m not mad, peanut. Thank you for apologizing. Now, Mama thinks that Aunty Katie wants to shoot some goals with you,” she tells you, standing behind you and pointing towards Katie, who was talking to Manu when she looked over and waved at you. You waved back, running towards her. She stands up straight and shakes her head, walking over to the side to have a little water and watch you shoot some pretty goals with your pretty shoes.
//
It was finally lunch time and you were STARVING. Lotte was holding your hand and walking with you to the cafeteria, Leah following behind her with your backpack and boots. You stood in line like a good girl, asking politely for what foods you wanted on your plate as Alessia plated it for you. She sat you down with your full plate, a glass of orange juice suddenly appearing beside it. Katie kissed the top of your head and walked off to get herself some food just as Leah came and sat beside you.
“Did you say thank you to everyone that helped you bubba?”
You nod hard, chest puffing out proudly for remembering your manners. Leah leans in and kisses your temple, handing you a fork.
“I want you to try and eat everything on your plate before you get more okay?”
“Yeth Mama!” you answer, immediately digging into your diverse plate. You had grilled chicken in tomato sauce with two pieces of garlic bread, mushroom quiche and a side caesar salad. Big you loved food unlike Leah “Plain Chicken Burger from Nandos” Williamson so your plate always had something flavorful and new on it. Lotte sat beside you with a similar plate, digging in with a big smile on her face. She looked at you and frowned, noticing that you were struggling to cut your chicken into smaller pieces. She silently pulled your plate towards hers and began to cut up your chicken and the rest of your food into more manageable pieces. You leaned your head on her arm in thanks, she merely kissed your cheek and whispered, “Eat up, little bit,” before going back to her own plate. Leah and the table watched fondly, hearts swelling at the sweet scene before them.
//
Leah didn’t want you running around too quickly after eating so you sat in the gym and watched the girls workout. Lia and Manu were on some spinny thing that looked a lot like your bicycle at home while Katie and Stina were using the poor, single monkey bar. Mama was on a bench, she was lifting something that looked really heavy. In all honestly, little you did not find anything interesting. No one was paying attention to you! Not even with your special shoes on. You decided then and there that you were a big girl now and wanted to explore yourself. That’s what big girls do, right?
You slipped out of the room quietly, amazed by all the pictures of Mama and all your aunties. They were so big, all taller than you! You were pretty sure they weren’t that tall when you were with them, maybe the print man got it wrong but didn’t want him to feel bad so they put the pictures up anyway.
There were so many rooms here, there was big Arsenal signs everywhere too! You kept walking around and looking at all the nice rooms and nice things, even stopping to say hi to a cat that you saw outside. His name was Pebbles, he said. He liked his ears rubbed.
Back in the gym, everyone was working out diligently when Lia noticed your bag was where you were supposed to be. Leah, now on the lonely monkey bar, was just about to pull herself up when she heard Lia calling your name.
“Y/N? Where are you, Schatz?”
Everyone around her stopped what they were doing and looked around but didn’t see you. They started to get worried, Leah immediately walking over.
“Where did she go? Did someone take her to the loo?” Leah asked, checking to see if anyone else was missing.
“No, we’re all here. Y/N/N! Where are you?” Viv called, checking the back rooms. Beth called out for you as she and some of the girls split up to look for you on the pitch. Everyone else began to comb the stadium while Leah checked her car with Viv.
“Y/N!”
“Pea, where are you?”
“Little bit, this isn’t hide and seek. Please come out from where you’re hiding!”
“Kleintje! Please, we’re worried about you!”
You could hear faint screams of your name on the pitch, so you ran out to it. You knew the way, Mama taught you so if you ever got lost, you could find someone on the pitch.
When you saw Aunty Lessi, you ran straight to her. She picked you up and spun you around like a ballerina, hugging you really tight.
“Why eweryone calling Y/N/N? Me wight here,” you ask innocently, looking down at your kneeling Aunty Lessi, Lotte and Katie.
“Where did you go, young lady? We’ve been looking everywhere for you!”
Just as Katie asked you, Beth and the rest of the team joined you all on the pitch. Leah ran frantically towards you, pulling you tight into her arms like Alessia did.
“Fuckin’ hell Y/N, thank goodness you’re safe. We were so worried! Where on earth did you disappear to?!”
“Went walk. Got bored. No one play wif me,” you pouted and crossed your arms, huffing at the girls.
“I don’t think so, little girl. If you want to go play somewhere, you tell one of us and we’ll be more than happy to take you. I am very disappointed in you, young lady. I want you to apologize and thank everyone for looking for you. Especially Aunty Lia, she noticed you were gone first.”
You made your way around the big Arsenal circle, thanking everyone with a kiss on their cheek. You did Aunty Lia last, giving her the biggest kiss on the cheek that you had saved for her.
“Thank you, liebling.”
Leah pulled you in for a hug, rubbing your back softly as you mumbled an apology in her neck.
“I know darling, thank you for apologizing. How about we call it a day, hm?”
You nod, the wear of the day and your little adventure catching up to you. Leah carried you back into the gym and grabbed her stuff, quietly thanking the girls herself for taking care of you for the day with her.
//
Finally back home, Leah had to carry you into the house after you had fallen asleep in the car. She gently placed you on the bed, smiling softly when you snuggled into it intuitively. She decided to take a quick shower before anything else, leaving you on the bed alone to take a quick little power nap.
She stepped out of the shower only to hear crying, rushing out of the bathroom to find you sniffling into your sweater Viv had pulled onto you.
“What’s wrong, bubba?”
“Had a bad dweam.”
“Oh pea, what was it about?”
“Mama got mad at Y/N. Weave Y/N/N all ‘wone.”
“I wouldn’t do that, peanut. I love you too much to leave you all alone.”
“Mama pwomise?”
“I promise, baby girl. I love you.”
“Wuv you too, Mama.”
You hugged her soft, cuddly, towel-wrapped body, tucking your face in her neck and taking a big whiff of her clean scent; the smell of vanilla clouding your senses. She kissed the top of your head, wiping away the stray tears that fell.
“How about we order some pizza and cuddle in bed?”
You nod, grinning happily. Leah sighs softly, brushing the hair out of your face. You were a right handful when you were little but seeing that big, toothy grin on your face made it all worth it.

Starting over | Leah Williamson
Pairing: Leah Williamson x Wälti!Reader & Lia Wälti x Sister!Reader
Summary: After a rough year you decide to move in with your sister. Moving from Switzerland to London was a big step but your sister's friends and teammates quickly took you in as their own.
Warnings: panic attacks
Masterlist | Woso masterlist | words: 2.5k
Your flight from Switzerland to London was about to land. After having a rough year back home, you decided to quit your job and move to London to get a fresh start. London wasn’t a random destination, your sister Lia has lived there for years. You’ve always loved it there when you visited, so when you felt like getting out of Switzerland for a while, London was an easy decision. Lia was waiting for you at the gate, you went in for a hug after not having seen her in person since the world cup. After grabbing your bags from baggage claim, she drives you home and helps you settle in. Since you had a long day, you head to bed after catching up with your sister a little.
The next morning you're sitting on the couch, scrolling on your phone as Lia is getting ready for practice. "I got it." You yell to your sister when you hear the doorbell ring. “Hey, welcome to London once again! I hope I remember your coffee order correctly.” Leah says as she walks in with a tray of coffees. Over the years you had met many of your sister's teammates, you had seen the most of her best friend Leah though. “It’s perfect, Leah, thank you.” You say as you greet the girl with a hug. You catch up with her for a moment while your sister continues getting ready for practice.
Your first day in London was mostly spent walking around, and exploring the city. You’ve visited and stayed with your sister before, coming to a few games, and also just to spend time with her but you always went to the places she had grown to love. You wanted to experience the city through your own eyes and find places of your own as well. A small restaurant caught your eye, so you decided to go there for lunch. It looked out on a small pond filled with ducks. You loved seeing nature all around you.
Lia texted you an hour after lunch letting you know some of the girls would be coming over for a movie night, and that you were of course invited to join them. Lia’s friends and teammates were great, so you were excited to see some of them again. That evening your new home was filled with laughter, something you found very comforting. Leah, Beth, Viv, Katie, and Steph were scattered around the living room with both you and Lia. Bowls of snacks cover the table as the movie plays on the TV. You become quiet once a scene comes up that triggers you. At first you try to shake it off, and continue the movie, however you weren’t able to. So, you grabbed two of the empty bowls and made your way to the kitchen. Leah had noticed your sudden change, and followed you with some empty glasses.
She found you in the kitchen trying to regulate your breathing. Leah quickly made her way over to you, “Come on, let’s sit down.” She says as she guides you to one of the chairs at the dinner table with a hand on your back. “Do you remember when Lia was having her little photoshoot moment on the beach and that big wave came crashing over her?” It takes you a moment to remember but as soon as you do, you nod your head, still breathing too irregularly to speak. “She was so mad that her outfit got soaked.” Leah continues, trying to bring your focus to more fun memories. “Or that time when she tried to feed a cow in one of those Swisse fields and it tried to eat her hand?” You managed a laugh at that thought. Leah took that as her strategy to get you out of your panic attack working. “What about that time you joined us in playing a friendly match and I slipped in the mud?” You finally caught your breath a bit. “You-” Talking was still a bit of a struggle but you continued trying. “You were covered head-” Another deep breath, “to toe.” Leah smiles, “Yes, it took multiple showers and laundry cycles for me and my clothes to be ridden of the horribly smelling mud.” You laugh with her, feeling your panic attack fade bit by bit. “I am definitely not playing on that horrible field ever again.” Leah continued, giving you space to catch your breath. She noticed your breathing returning to normal, and stood up to grab you a glass of water. With shaky hands you take a few sips before placing it on the table. “Thank you, Leah. How did you know?”
“My brother used to get them too. His therapist always told us that distracting him and making him think of a memory would make it easier for him to get out of it.” You nod along. “Are you okay?” She asks while placing her hand on your knee. “Yes, I think I’m okay, thank you.” Leah tells you to stay put while she fills the bowls and cups back up. Luckily the other girls hadn’t seemed to notice you were gone longer than was needed to refill everything, since they were too invested in the movie. You sat down on the couch again, Leah settling beside you once again. She nudged Katie, “Can you hand me that blanket?” Noticing that most of the girls had made themselves comfortable with one. Leah put the blanket over herself and offered to drape the other half over you, which you happily agreed to.
The movie continued on but a part of you seemed to not be able to let go of your panic attack. You started kicking your leg up and down, Leah noticed and reached out her hand to you in comfort, placing it on your thigh. You took a deep breath after the contact, only then noticing what you were doing. Leah let her hand linger in hopes of offering some kind of comfort. You lay your own hand down on top of hers and give it a squeeze, showing your appreciation. She turns her hand around and holds yours, rubbing her thumb over the back of your hand in a soothing motion.
The movie comes to an end, and everyone helps clean up. Leah stays by you while the rest of the girls bring the dishes to the kitchen, you’re both folding blankets and tidying up the living room a bit. “Does Lia know?” Leah asks softly, making sure no one could overhear you. You shake your head, “No, not that they’re back at least.” She doesn’t question you but you tell her anyways, “I used to have them more often in high school.” Leah nods along as she continues her way around the living room. “Are you going to tell her?” Before you can answer Beth and Viv walk back into the living room.
“Alright we are heading home.” Beth announces. Both girls go around and give everyone a quick hug. The rest of the girls joined you in the living room as well. After Viv gives you a hug she invites you to the party her and Beth are throwing on friday, to celebrate both of them returning to Arsenal after their injuries. You accept the invitation and wave them off. Katie, Steph, and Leah decide to call it a night too. You hug Katie and Steph first, and when you give Leah a hug you whisper to her, “Don’t worry, I’ll tell her tonight.” She gives you a quick squeeze before letting you go and moving out of the door with Katie and Steph. The door closes and you head straight to your room, exhausted from the panic attack.
Lia follows you to your room, sensing that something is off. She knocks before opening the door when you say come in. Watching you lay in your bed staring at the ceiling, she remembers the countless times she laid beside you on days your panic attacks got the best of you. So, without hesitation she lays down next to you. You must have laid there for a good half hour before you spoke up. “They’re back Lia, the panic attacks, they’re back.” She turns to her side and looks your way, and places her hand on your arm. “Thank you for telling me, y/n. You know that I will always be here for you but have you looked into getting a therapist here maybe? I know it helped you a lot back in high school, plus I know how tough this past year has been for you.” Your sister had always been your rock, so you knew she would be there for you no matter what. “Yes, I found one online that looked nice but I haven’t been able to push myself to make an appointment.” Lia understood how hard it was to make that step, so she offered to do it with you. With your introduction appointment made, you called it a night.
The rest of your week had so far consisted of the introduction appointment, going on walks, spending time with your sister. Today you were making your way to a small restaurant to have lunch with Leah. She had texted you after movie night if you would be interested in seeing a different part of London. You started the day off with some lunch and spent the rest of the afternoon following tourguide Leah around, while she showed you all around some of her favorite less popular places in London. You haven't laughed like today in a long time. It honestly felt like you had known Leah for ages. You had of course known her for some years now but you never before had spent one on one time with her, always seeing her in group settings including your sister. Leah enjoyed the day just as much as you did, happy to share the stories she knew about the places you visited. When it was time for you to go your separate ways to get ready for Beth and Viv’s party, you hugged each other goodbye and made your way home.
Lia noticed the change in your appearance by the smile that wouldn’t falter, she was happy to see you were feeling better today. “How was your day out with Leah?” She asked curiously. You told her that you had a great time, and shared where Leah showed you around. You got ready for the party and drove to Beth and Viv’s. Their place was filled with loved ones, the whole Arsenal team was there along with some of their friends and family.
You were making your way through the crowd to get to the drinks when you ran into Leah, “Hey stranger, long time no see.” You joke, she laughs at your cheesy joke and joins you on your way to the drinks. You find a place to sit and start talking with Leah. On the other side of the room Katie nudges Lia and points your way, “You know Leah is totally crushing on your sister, right?” She follows the direction Katie is pointing in and sees the both of you laughing. “Yeah, I think my sister is crushing on Leah too, actually.” Lia had a feeling after today, now seeing the way you lit up around Leah, confirmed her suspicions. Back in the day she would’ve been annoyed if you had a crush on any of her friends but she felt herself rooting for the both of you, the two of you would make a great pair.
After a while you excuse yourself to go find the restroom. Manuela decides to step in Leah's direction, “So, are the rumors online true?” Leah furrows her brows, “What are you talking about?” Manuela laughs, “Nah, I’m just messing with you but apparently the internet seems to think you have a thing for Lia now.” Leah shakes her head, “They always read into every little thing they see online don’t they.” She laughs, having heard her fair share of rumors about herself over the years. “Plus, I kinda have a thing for the other Wälti sibling.” Manuela looks over and she bursts out laughing as she meets your widened eyes. “And that’s my queue.” She says leaving a confused Leah and a shocked y/n behind. Leah turns around and finally understands her teammates' reaction. “You heard that then?” She says as a blush takes over her cheeks. You nod, and take her hand, leading the both away from the busyness.
Leah studies your face when you come to a stop in the hallway. “Don’t worry, the feeling is reciprocated, Leah.” She smiles and pulls you closer by the hand that you’re still holding. Her eyes dart between your eyes and your lips. “Can I kiss you?” You feel your heart start beating faster. “Yes.” Leah smiles and lifts her free hand to your cheek, pulling you in the rest of the way. Your lips meet in a sweet kiss, you both smile into the kiss and share a moment before you kiss her again. This time however the kiss gets interrupted by Katie walking into the hallway, “Ahh this is so cute. I knew you two had a thing for each other!” The Irish woman squeals. “Shut it, McCabe.” Leah warns. “Let us first tell Lia before you share it with the world, please.” Katie lifts up her hands in surrender, “Don’t mind me, love birds, just getting some fresh air.” She says as she moves past you out of the front door. You both laugh at the interaction, knowing you would have to tell Lia soon, because you both know that Katie would not be able to keep her mouth shut about something like this.
After figuring out what this meant for the both of you, settling on dating for now, you told Lia together that same night, not wanting to do anything behind her back since you both had such a close bond with her. Lia was happy for the both of you and immediately gave you her blessing. She thought you would be great for each other and was just happy that she wouldn’t have to watch the two of you pine for each other without telling each other that you like the other.
When the party was over, Leah walked you back to your car. Lia gave a quick hug and sat down in the car, giving the two of you some space to say goodnight. “Drive safe, text me when you get home?” She asks, “I will, you do the same?” Leah nods, “Of course. Goodnight, y/n.” You lean in to place a kiss on her cheek. “Goodnight, Leah.”
Her message about making it home safely followed mere minutes after you had sent her yours. You continued texting her with a smile on your face, you talked until you could no longer keep your eyes open and fell asleep.

Can you do number 40 with lia wälti please?
Quiet Pining
Lia Walti x Williamson!reader
As the sun dipped low over the London skyline, Arsenal was starting their second training session of the day, preparing for an upcoming champions league match. You were the team's main goalie and supposed to be focused intently on your current drills, but your attention kept drifting to Lia.
Lia was a couple of meters away, with the midfielders and defenders engaged in a lively rondo. You were supposed to be practicing with the strikers, but your eyes kept drifting over to Lia.
“Y/n, come on! Focus!” Alessia called out, snapping you back to reality. You chuckled sheepishly, trying to shake off your distraction.
“Sorry!” you called, your cheeks warming. Leah, your annoying older sister, glanced your way, an amused smile playing on her lips.
The drills progressed, and as the strikers took turns shooting at goal, you felt your palms getting sweaty. You were well aware of the pressure and that you needed to show your teammates that you were ready for the match ahead. But each time you tried to focus, you’d catch sight of Lia, looking absolutely stunning in the light from the setting sun.
“Come on, Y/n! You got this!” shouted Katie from the sidelines as a couple girls stood to watch the end of your drills.
Once the strikers wrapped up their drills, you saw the perfect opportunity for some fun. You exchanged a glance with Katie, who instantly knew what you were thinking. You both tiptoed over to the water station, grabbing two bottles with icy water.
“Let’s go for the midfielders!” Katie whispered, her eyes twinkling with mischief.
“Not Lia, though,” you replied quickly, shaking your head. You couldn’t bear the thought of embarrassing her like that, even in a playful way.
“Fine, fine. Just Beth and Viv, then,” Katie said with a mischievous grin. You nodded, and together, you snuck up behind your unsuspecting targets.
“Surprise!” you shouted, pouring the cold water down their backs.
“What the” Beth yelped, jumping and spinning around, her expression a mix of shock and laughter. Viv, also caught off guard, jumped almost a foot in the air and then glared at you two as you ran away laughing.
“You two are so dead!” Beth laughed, chasing after you. Viv just stood there glaring. You and Katie took off faster, dodging around cones and teammates.
After all the drills wrapped up, you collapsed onto the grass beside Leah, trying to catch your breath. The sun was getting lower in the sky, painting the sky with hues of orange and pink, and you could see Lia chatting with Kim Little a few feet away.
Leah nudged you, smirk present. “That was quite the performance, Y/n. You might want to watch your back, though. Viv looked ready to tackle you.”
You chuckled, looking over at the two of them. “Worth it.”
“Speaking of fun, are you ready for the match against Roma?” Leah asked, stretching out her legs.
“Yeah, I think so. Just a bit nervous,” you admitted, your gaze still lingering on Lia. “I mean, it’s a big game, especially since we didn't make the champions league last year. I need to make sure I’m on top of my game.”
“Pressure is part of it, right? You’ve trained hard for this. You’ll be great! And anyways nothing is getting past me, so you don't have to worry” Leah said, her voice full of confidence to which you just raised an eyebrow.
You turned your head toward her. “What if I mess up? What if I let everyone down?”
“Hey, stop that! You’re not going to let anyone down. Just play your game and do what you know best. And remember, this is a team sport and we win and lose together,” Leah reassured you, squeezing your shoulder.
Just then, Lia walked over, her smile wide and inviting. “Hey, you two! What’s the plan for after practice?” she asked, glancing between you and Leah.
You felt your heart race, the sudden shyness enveloping you like a thick fog. “Uh, I don’t know... maybe just rest up for the match?” you managed to stammer, your eyes darting to the ground, avoiding Lia’s gaze.
“Sounds good,” Lia replied, “You should both come hang out later. We can go over game strategies and maybe watch a movie.”
“Definitely!” Leah said as Lia helped pull her up off the ground. You nodded, but your mind was spinning. The thought of being alone with just your sister and Lia, sent your heart into a wild rhythm.
As practice wrapped up, you gathered your things, overthinking everything that could go wrong. Leah and you hopped in the car, you in the passenger seat.
The ride home was filled with a silence, you couldn't stop thinking about Lia, and how she was way out of your league, not to mention your sisters best friends. As Leah drove, you kept glancing out the window, lost in thought.
“Y/n,” Leah broke the silence, her tone teasing yet serious, “you’re still thinking about Lia, aren’t you?”
You sighed, knowing there was no escaping this. “Maybe a little.”
Leah smirked. “You know, I’ve seen the way you look at her. You like her.”
Your heart raced at her words, the heat creeping into your cheeks again. “I don’t know, Leah. It’s complicated. She’s your best friend and what if she doesn’t feel the same way?”
“Or what if she does?” Leah countered, glancing at you with a knowing smile. “You won’t know unless you say something. What’s the worst that could happen?”
“Making things awkward?” you shot back, but deep down, the idea of being brave lingered.
“Look, you’ve got to take a chance,” Leah encouraged. “I mean, come on! You two have this great chemistry. Just think about it.”
You mulled over Leah’s words, your heart fluttering at the thought of actually asking Lia out. What if it could lead to something beautiful? But then again, what if it didn’t?
“Maybe you could ask her out after the match when we win,” Leah suggested, her tone turning more serious. “you can have time to think about what you are going to say and you’ll feel more confident.”
“Yeah, maybe,” you said quietly, but the thought sent a shiver down your spine. Could you really do that?
When you finally pulled into your driveway, Leah parked the car and turned to face you. “Promise me you’ll at least think about it. I have a good feeling she'll say yes. Just ask her to go for coffee or something after practice.”
“I’ll think about it,” you replied, though your heart was racing at the idea. “But what if it ruins everything?”
“It won’t. And if it does, you’ll get through it together. That’s what friends do,” Leah assured you, her eyes full of sincerity. She really wanted you to be happy and she knew that you and Lia would do that for each other.
You went over to Lia's with Leah for a couple hours after dinner and you were very in your head the whole time. Especially when you sat in between them during the movie and Lia scooted closer to you.
Later that night, you couldn’t sleep. You tossed and turned, the weight of your feelings for Lia pressing heavy on your mind. Every time you closed your eyes, you could see her smile, hear her laughter. You imagined what it would be like to hold her hand, to go out for coffee, to just be together.
By morning, you were a bundle of nerves. The thought of the match against Roma filled you with anticipation, but it was overshadowed by the thought of what to do about Lia.
As you slipped into your jersey, you kept stealing glances at Lia. She was chatting with Beth, head thrown back in laughter. You really wanted to approach them, but the thought of actually talking to her made your heart race even faster.
The practice session began, and you pushed aside your nerves, focusing on the drills. The strikers took their shots at you, and you felt the familiar rush of adrenaline as you dove to save each shot. You were in your element, and for a moment, the anxiety about Lia faded away.
During a break, you grabbed a water bottle and chugged a couple sips. Leah joined you, her expression curious. “So, have you thought about what you’re going to say to Lia?”
You sighed, as you redid your bun. “Honestly? I’m terrified. What if she doesn’t feel the same way?”
“Then you’ll deal with it,” Leah said simply. “But you won’t know unless you try.”
“I just don’t want to ruin our friendship. She means a lot to me,” you admitted, looking down at the grass.
“She means a lot to you because you’re friends. Think about it—if it doesn’t work out, wouldn’t you rather know than wonder?” Leah pushed gently.
“Maybe you’re right.”
Just then, you saw Lia walking toward you, a smile spreading across her face. Your heart skipped a beat, and you felt your palms grow clammy.
“Hey! What are you two plotting over here?” Lia teased.
“Just talking about the match,” Leah said smoothly. “And how amazing our goalie is going to be.”
Lia turned to you, her eyes sparkling. “You’ll be fantastic. You always are, especially in these big games”
“Thanks, Lia,” you said, your voice barely above a whisper.
As she talked, you found yourself hanging onto her every word. The way she moved, she was intoxicating.
Lia smiled brightly, and for a moment, the world around you faded away as you stared into each others eyes. The sounds of the training ground faded, leaving just the two of you in your own little bubble. But then Lia blinked and looked away as Leah cleared her throat. The three of you jogged back to the circle that was forming to discuss the next part of training.
~~~
Once practice was over you showered and got changed before finding your sister and starting the walk to her car, but once you got outside, Leah said, "I have a meeting about my next book, i'll see you later."
“Wait, Leah—” you called, but she was already jogging off towards the car, her back to you. You stood there, dumbfounded that she really just left you there.
Lia noticed and walked over, her brow furrowing in concern. “Why are you out here by yourself? Where’s Leah?”
“She sped off without me,” you admitted, forcing a laugh that felt hollow.
“Ah, classic Leah,” Lia said, shaking her head with a smile. “Do you need a ride home?”
You hesitated for a moment, caught off guard by the offer. “Uh, yeah, that would be great,” you finally managed to say, your heart racing at the thought of being alone with her.
As you climbed into the passenger seat, the car felt small and intimate, even though it was a normal size SUV. The ride was filled with silence, both of you stealing shy glances at each other. You could feel the electricity in the air, and every time your hands brushed against the center console, your heart raced.
Lia seemed to sense the new atmosphere as well, her cheeks slightly flushed. “So, are you excited for the match?” she asked, breaking the silence.
“Yeah, definitely! Just trying to stay focused,” you replied, trying to keep your voice steady.
“Me too, I'm excited to be playing in the champions league again!” she said, her smile making your heart flutter.
The car pulled up to your flat, and you sat there for a moment, your mind racing. Just as you gathered the courage to ask if she wanted to hang out—just the two of you—her phone buzzed on the dashboard. She glanced at the screen, her expression shifting.
“Sorry, I need to take this,” Lia said, her tone apologetic. You felt a pang of disappointment as she answered the call.
“Hey! Yeah, I’m on my way,” she said, her eyes meeting yours for just a brief moment.
You felt the words catch in your throat, but the moment had slipped away. “Uh, bye, Lia,” you managed to say, your heart sinking as she waved goodbye, a mix of regret and longing flooding you as she drove away.
pumpkin patch adventures | buddy & monkey: double the trouble
summary: buddy and monkey take a trip to pick out pumpkins with a special guest appearance from @lvnleah Rory
double the trouble masterlist
“Roar!” You’re currently sitting at the breakfast table while you’re eating your pancakes that you have for breakfast, although you are having much more fun dunking your dinosaur figurines in the sugary syrup than actually eating the pancakes yourself.
“Eat it nicely bubba,” Leah grimaces as she watches you coat your beloved dinosaur figurines in your breakfast.
“But Mummy, my Dinos’ want to share me ‘cakes though!” You insist, your eyes wide with excitement before proceeding to attempt to coat them in sugar again.
“Yeah? Well I think Mummy’s going to need to give your Dinos’ a wash at this rate,” Leah jokes, shaking her head as she tries to coax your toys out of your hand to salvage them.
“Sharings’ caring!” You declare proudly, puffing out your chest.
Leah snorts in amusement, “Oh? And who taught you that?”
“Monkey!” You exclaim while beaming a wide smile.
“Of course she did,” Leah murmurs, resisting the urge to roll her eyes as she stands up from her seat at the table to grab a cloth, “I know you want to share your pancakes with your dinosaurs, but sometimes, things like this aren’t meant to be shared, bubba. You don’t want them to be covered in syrup and be all sticky, do you?” She retorts in a gentle tone of voice.
“No,” You concede, pouting as you spare a glance at said dinosaurs which were already sticky, “Mummy, my dinos’ are sticky” You whine, the reality hitting you while not appreciating the stickiness of them now.
“That’s why Mummy told you to not dunk them, bubba,” Leah can’t help but bite her bottom lip to stifle her laughter, “And that’s why we have to keep them nice and clean, like Mr Bear, remember?” She reminds you, using the cloth to wipe your own sticky fingers before proceeding to clean the dinosaurs.
“But I wan’ share,” You pout in disappointment, not quite understanding the whole concept of it.
“You can share, just not with your dinosaurs,” Leah retorts, playfully poking your nose once she had finished wiping off the syrup, “There we go, all better. No more dunking them now, little miss or they’ll get sticky again.”
“You got it dude,” You tell her, sticking your thumb up in agreement, “Mummy? Whens’ Auntie Wally comin’?”
“She’s on her way now, bubba,” Leah tells you as she disregards the cloth into the washing up bowl, “We’re waiting for her, then we’re going to be meeting Auntie Stephy, Auntie Beffy and Roo. Do you remember where we’re going today?”
You nod enthusiastically, “To the pumpkin farm!”
“That’s right,” Leah replies in agreement as she helps you down from the table so you can get ready for the trip out today, “We’re going to pick out pumpkins so you and Rory can carve them like you did last year with Monkey, remember?” She reminds you as the two of you head upstairs.
“Yeah! I gots’ to make it scary last year!” You exclaim, remembering the way that Monkey drew a scary face on the pumpkin, but the best bit was the gunk in the pumpkin that you loved pulling out, “Monkey didn’ like the gunk though!”
“No she didn’t, did she?” Leah chuckles in amusement as you enter your bedroom, “What do you want to wear today?”
“Can I wear my Rat costume?” You question, hopeful as you plonk yourself on the carpet in favour of playing with your toys instead of getting dressed.
“Oh I should have seen that coming,” Leah murmurs, speaking her thoughts aloud as she opens up the wardrobe in your bedroom, “Bubba, I don’t think it would be a great idea to wear that. How about you choose something else instead?” She suggests in a gentle tone of voice.
“Nuh uh. I wan’ wear me rat costume!” Your little voice insists while still playing with your toys on the carpeted rug that’s the shape of a rainbow.
It’s something that Leah and Jordan decided to have in your nursery before you were born, because apparently you’re a little rainbow baby, but that’s not something you’re all that sure what it exactly means, but you definitely get a lot of hugs and kisses all of the time.
You guess when you transferred to the big bed, it also came along as well although it doesn’t really fit in with the racecar bed that you have now.
Leah purses her lips, debating how this conversation was about to pan out, “Bubba, listen I know you want to wear your rat costume, but don’t you think it’ll be better to save it to wear on Halloween. You wouldn’t want your lovely tail to get covered in mud, would you?” She tries to coax you out of the idea and you don’t miss the sarcasm in her voice when saying certain words.
“No,” You pout at the thought of your Halloween costume being ruined by the mud at the pumpkin place you’re going to.
“Exactly, so how about we choose something else?” Leah continues to suggest as she routes through your wardrobe, “Oh, here’s the hoodie that grandad brought you. What about this?”
You shake your head in disagreement, “Not red!”
“Of course not,” Leah mumbles as she exhales a sigh while remembering that you seem to be going through a phase right now of not wanting to wear anything that isn’t red, “But this colour is close to red, it’s orange, like the pumpkins that we’re going to pick out, yeah?”
“... Fine,” You huff in agreement like it’s such a tedious task to agree to it as you give her your usual sass that you seem to have now, “But red tomorrow, Mummy. Don’ forget!” You tell her, waggling your index finger in front of her face.
“I won’t forget bubba,” Leah has to bite her bottom and stifle her laughter, finding it hard to take her mini me so seriously as she tries to piece together the rest of your outfit without any further protest from you, “Right, let's get you dressed then, bubba.”
With a bit of protest of pulling you away from your toys that you were enjoying, you reluctantly get dressed into the outfit chosen much to your disagreement of it not being red like you want it to be.
“Mummy?” You speak up as Leah helps you thread your arms through the sleeves of the t-shirt before coaxing your new hoodie over your head.
“Yes, bubba?” Leah responds in a gentle tone of voice,
“When we goes’ to the farm will there be a park?” You wonder, curiously because the idea of a park sounds like a lot of fun right now.
“Well I’m not too sure about that one little miss but there might be,” Leah answers while moving to help you with your leggings, but that doesn’t solve all of your questions that you want to know.
“I like the park!” You insist with a beaming smile but that doesn’t last, “... Mummy?” You question again while Leah helps you with the tricky task of putting your socks on.
Leah chuckles in amusement, “Yes, bubba?” She asks, waiting for your next question.
“If there’s a park, will there be a swing… and a slide?” You ponder the thought of the park, you always love the swings and always ask to go higher and higher, “Mummy! Will there be a roundabout?”
“You’re certainly a little chatterbox today, aren’t you? You’re just full of all the questions!” Leah jokes, playfully tickling your sides as you let out a squeal of delight, “I’m not sure what there will be if there is a park, but we’ll see what it’s like when we get there.”
“The swings are fun!” You exclaim in delight, “And that’s cos’ I’m like ‘out! That what Mama says too!” You retort innocently.
Leah gasps in a playful manner, “Oh is that right?”
“Uh huh!” You nod promptly on your decision, “Yeah, and Nana says’ it as well… And Auntie Kei! She says’ we like to y… yap a lot,” You stumble over the word as you tell her.
“Oh you just wait until I see your auntie Kei,” Leah retorts in a joking manner, “Me and her will have words– Agh!”
Right in that minute, your favourite person doesn’t miss the opportunity to sneak up behind Leah and scare her half to death, “Boo! Ha, gotcha!” She exclaims, incredibly pleased with herself.
Leah spins around and playfully bats Monkey’s arm, “You menace,” She chides, recovering from her faint heart attack, “What’re you playin’ at jumping up behind me like that?”
“It was too good of an opportunity to not take it,” Monkey shrugs her shoulders carelessly, “I’m trying to get all the scares in. It’s only another 2 weeks until the big day!”
“So you decide to scare me… Now?” Leah clicks her tongue and shakes her head, less than impressed, “Don’t you have anything better to be doing? Wally will be here soon and you’re not even ready yet!”
“Well, duh!” Monkey remarks while rolling her eyes, “Chill out, I have plenty of time to get ready. What’s the rush?” She wonders.
“Plenty of time?” Leah repeats while scoffing in disagreement, “Monkey, any minute now Wally is going to arrive so we can go out. I told you to be ready an hour ago, what have you been doing this whole time?”
“Uh… TikToks’ addictive,” Monkey murmurs her response while grinning at the blonde who looks about ready to blow a fuse, “There’s a new trend I wanna try with Kyra!”
“Absolutely not, no way!” Leah’s already putting a stop to the idea of mayhem your favourite person plans to cause, considering the last TikTok video attempt made her ankle hurt even more.
“Monkey, ‘ou scared Mummy!” You exclaim while giggling and finding the whole thing funny to watch.
“That’s the best bit about Halloween, Buddy!” Monkey declares excitedly as she grins at you, “Being able to jump out and scare people– Oh, and the trick and treating of course. All the sweets you can eat!”
“Trick or Treat!” You repeat excitedly, bouncing up and down on the balls of your sock covered feet, “Trick or Treat!”
“Exactly, remember that’s just what you say when you walk up to someones’ house and knock on the door,” Monkey reminds you of the typical way to ‘Trick or Treat’ on Halloween, “It’s important you say them words!”
You nod efficiently, “Trick or Treat!” You exclaim once again.
“Yeah, good job!” Monkey holds her hand up to exchange a high-five with you, “You’re going to be a pro in no time, Buddy!” She tells you.
“Trick or Treat,” You continue to shout in excitement.
“You do realise that’s all she’s going to be saying now, huh?” Leah arches her eyebrow and shakes her head, “Bubba…”
“Trick or Treat!” You repeat once more, loud and proud.
Leah chuckles in amusement, “Case in point right there.”
“There’s worse things that she could say though,” Monkey retorts, shrugging her shoulders, “Think about it, she’s just gettin’ into the Halloween spirit, Le!”
“Right, of course,” Leah murmurs, rolling her eyes at your favourite persons’ silliness, “Do you think you can perhaps take your ‘Halloween spirit’ elsewhere, and while you’re at it, get dressed to go out? I don’t think it would look so good going out in your pyjamas now, would it?” She gestures Monkey out of the room in the direction of her own bedroom.
Monkey pouts in disagreement and slumps her shoulders, “Boo, you’re no fun!” She exclaims in a playful manner of tone, “See here Buddy, this is what we call a ‘Grinch’ but of course that’s more relatable to Christmas of course…”
“Grinch!” You repeat while giggling faintly at Monkey’s usual silliness.
“Go. Get ready,” Leah states while pointing her index finger in the direction of the door, “Now.”
“Trick or Treat, Auntie Wally!” You shout aloud the minute that the front door is opened by Leah to reveal Lia on the other side, while holding onto your new trick or treat bucket, and of course you want to show her what you’ve been taught all about now, but you're disappointed with the lack of no sweets, “Why ‘ou no have sweeties?”
“You want sweeties?” Lia chuckles and doesn’t waste the time to scoop you up into her arms, “I think you're a few days too early yet, little miss.”
“That’s not the way you did it, Buddy,” Monkey laughs and shakes her head, “You’re supposed to say it when you go to other peoples’ houses, not ours, silly!” She retorts.
“But I want sweeties though,” You pout in disregard of not having any said sweeties, “Trick or Treat!” You hold your new bucket up in front of her while you’re still in her arms.
Monkey huffs and throws her hands up in the air, “Urgh, I give up!”
“Auntie Wally! We’re gon’ go to the farm,” You ramble excitedly to the woman while you’re still in her arms, “Go pick out pumpkins!”
“What? We’re not goin’ to the farm,” Monkey’s face pales at the news and shakes her head, “I’m not going anywhere where there’s chickens! Nuh uh, no thank you!”
Leah chuckles in amusement as ruffles your favourite person’s hair, “Relax, Menace. It’s a completely chicken free zone,” She tells her.
“Oh, really?” Monkey questions, choosing whether to believe her or not, “Cos’ you said that last time we went to a farm and I swear one of those buggers’ bit me finger!”
“There’ll be no chickens in sight,” Leah answers, really hoping that she’s right about it as she’s somewhat aware there is a petting zoo there.
“Oh, okay. Well in that case then, I guess I’ll go then… If you insist,” Monkey shrugs it off like she wasn’t so petrified just minutes ago, “So, we gonna go now then, or what?”
Leah and Lia laugh in amusement at Monkey antics, both of them knowing what she is like but right now you want to be the centre of attention for a change.
“Auntie Wally, look at my new trick or treat bucket that I got!” You try to shove it directly in her view to show it off.
Lia gasps in faux excitement “Oh I love it, Buddy! Did you get that the other day when you went shopping?”
“Uh huh, Mama brought it for me,” You nod promptly in agreement, “Ans’ we brought Monkey stickers to put on her crutches!”
“I saw them the other day and they are very cool,” Lia replies, listening intently to your chatter as she adjusts you in her grasp, “Does that mean you’re using them now, little one?”
“Meh,” Monkey retorts while shrugging her shoulders carelessly and puts her jacket on what she grabs off the coat rack by the front door.
“Well that was the hope, but I keep having to remind her still,” Leah chimes in as she grabs your denim jacket off the coat rack and coaxes your arms into it while you're still in Lia’s arms, “Right, are we ready to go?” She wonders.
“Can’t help that I forget sometimes when I have a memory like a civ,” Monkey murmurs while fixing the zip on her own jacket.
“Ready when you are,” Lia agrees to Leah’s question, settling you back down on the floor so you can walk out to the car on the driveway.
“Auntie Wally! Auntie Wally!” You squeal in excitement and walk out to the car on the driveway, “Mama brought me my costume as well. ‘Ou have to come and see it!”
“Someone’s excited for Halloween,” Lia says, peering down as you're still vibrating with excitement about the idea of it.
“Duh, she has to be,” Monkey chimes in as she hobbles out to the car, “It’s a great season!”
Lia chuckles in amusement as she turns to look at Leah, “Are we still stuck on the whole rat costume idea?”
“Unfortunately so,” Leah murmurs as she opens the back door of her car and helps you into your seat before buckling you in, “I’ve tried to persuade her differently, but I’m having no luck.”
“Even so, I think you make an adorable rat from the photos I’ve seen,” Lia says as she climbs into the passenger seat of Leah’s car.
“Me go’ be a rat for trick or treating!” You exclaim, throwing your hands up in the air in excitement.
“Buddy the rat,” Monkey snickers to herself as she slides in beside you in the back of the car.
“Oh, is that a new nickname?” Lia jokes, buckling her seatbelt in as she looks towards Leah with an amused expression on her face.
“No, definitely not,” Leah grumbles, shaking her head in disagreement as she climbs into the driver's seat before buckling herself in and starting the ignition on the car.
“Mummy, I can’t wait to see Roo! Where’ she?” You’re full of chatter as you arrive at the pumpkin farm and you’re waiting in anticipation for Steph, Beth and your best friend, Rory, to join you.
“Don’t worry bubba. You’ll see her soon enough,” Leah assures you as she’s given the impossible task to fix the beanie over your head considering the amount you’re moving around so much right now, “Stand still so I can put your hat on please, bubba.” She says.
“Wan’ see Roo!” You whine impatiently, becoming more restless by every minute that passes and you can see your best friend, “Where they?”
“Oh look who I spot!” Lia motions to the three of them exiting Beth’s car as Rory holds onto Beth’s hand with all the busy cars around, as she spots you and attempts to run towards you.
“Roo!” You squeal aloud, your excitement becoming more tangible.
“Buddy!” Rory parrots your excitement, eager to reach you so you two can exchange a hug.
“I think we’ve been forgotten,” Steph jokes, not wasting any time to scoop you up with one arm and tickle you while not missing the opportunity to ruffle Monkey’s hair, “How’re my favourite pair of troublemakers doing?”
“Get off,” Monkey grumbles, trying to swat Steph’s hand away from her hair.
“Me no trouble, Auntie Stephy!” You pout at the older Australian women.
“Hm, I’m not too sure about that one now,” Steph jokes, continuing to tickle you before plonking you back down on the floor.
“Roo!” You shout aloud excitedly, embracing your best friend in a warm hug.
“Who’s ready to go and pick out some pumpkins?” Beth asks in an excited tone of voice.
“Me! Me!” You and Rory both shout at the same time.
“I wish you brought Kyra with you,” Monkey adds into the conversation with her shoulders slumped as you all start to walk through the entrance of the pumpkin patch, “Would be loads more fun then!”
“British menace and Aussie pest, I’m not so convinced myself,” Beth chips in as she finds amusement in the situation, “I think it’s bad enough on your own without your counterpart to cause trouble.”
“Party pooper,” Monkey murmurs, crossing her arms over her chest.
“Mummy! Mummy! Can we go and finds’ the pumpkins?” You tug on Leah’s sleeve to find out whether you can run off with your best friend.
“Go for it, bubba,” Leah encourages you to run ahead with Rory.
“Yeah! Mon’ Roo, lets’ go and find them!” Your voice is loud and energetic as you motion your best friend to follow you in the direction of the large pumpkins, “Race you there!”
“I don’t think I’ve seen them this excited before,” Lia retorts as she watches the two you run off squealing.
“I’m gonna chase you–” Monkey begins to speak.
“Ah ah, think again about that one Menace,” Leah interjects, giving Monkey a knowing look.
“Stupid dumb injury,” Monkey murmurs in displeasure.
“You only have yourself to blame, remember?” Leah chuckles, ruffling her hair.
“Chase me, Monkey!” You turn back round to shout at her.
“An me!” Roo adds in through fits of giggles.
“I wish I could kiddos, but I’m stuck for now,” Monkey tells you both while motioning to the boot that’s taken precedence on her foot currently.
“Mon’ Roo, we gots’ to find the pumpkins!” You tell your best friend.
“Lets’ go!” Rory shouts in agreement.
“Don’t run too fast girls, we don’t want either of you to… Fall,” Leahs’ cut off from her own words as you trip and fall right there as you miss your step. The sudden jolt of shock causes you to let out an almighty wail.
“M… Mummy! My knee!” You cry aloud, clutching hold of your knee as your bottom lip trembles, “It… It hurts, Mummy!”
“Oh, bubba,” Leah’s rushing to your side and scooping you up into her arms within seconds, pressing a gentle kiss to your forehead while trying to calm you down, “You’re okay, you’re alright. It was just a bit of a shock, weren’t it, hm?”
“Owie, my knee hurts,” You whimper while tears still roll down your cheeks, “My knee! Mummy, it hurts!”
“You’re okay, bubba,” Leah coos, rubbing soothing circles on your back to try and ease your tears, “There’s no cut, see? There’s no blood, you’re fine, my brave bubba!” She exclaims.
“Uh huh,” You sob quietly still while in Leah’s arms.
“This is why we have to watch where we’re going now, remember? We don’t want to end up tripping and falling again, do we?” Leah reminds you in a gentle tone of voice.
“Wan’ to still go and find pumpkins with Roo,” You insist once you’re calm enough again and your tears are subdued.
“Alright, but remember to be careful this time, okay?” Leah reminds you cautiously, settling you back on your feet and adjusting your beanie back on your head properly, “Right, go run free, bubba!”
“Mon’ Roo!” You call after your best friend, running with her as you two are the first to reach the pumpkins, “We gots’ to find a big one!”
“Good luck with that mission, Buddy!” Monkey calls out to you, amusedly.
“But’s not ugly though. It has to be pretty, right, Mummy?” Rory turns to look at Beth for her confirmation.
“Of course, sweetheart,” Beth clarifies while nodding in agreement.
“Can pumpkins be pretty?” Steph furrows her eyebrows and whispers to the rest of the grown ups.
“I mean, I guess so,” Lia murmurs in confusion while shrugging her shoulders.
“Nuh uh, gots’ to find a big one so Monks’ can draw me a scary face on it!” You insist, looking round with wide eyes at the various different sizes of all the pumpkins in the patch.
“Well that sounds like an awesome idea,” Beth joins in on the conversation, “I think we’ll need some wheelbarrows, huh?” She wonders.
You shake your head in disagreement with that idea, “No, don’ need one of them. We carry them!” You declare.
“I don’t think so bubba, it’ll be too heavy,” Leah’s rational with her explanation as she grabs a wheelbarrow on hand, “We’ll pick them, put them in the wheelbarrow that we can carry back to the car instead, okay?”
“If we must,” You exhale a small huff in response, which makes Steph, Lia and Beth all chuckle.
“Where’s this ‘tude 'coming from all of a sudden?” Steph questions, poking your sides which causes you to let out laughter.
“Don’t ask, it’s a sudden thing apparently,” Leah murmurs while shaking her head, “Oh, and we also appear to be going through a phase of only wanting to wear red now.” She adds.
Beth snorts in amusement, “I see, and how’s that going for you?”
“I absolutely love having a sassy 3 year old,” Leah retorts as she resists the urge to roll her eyes, “I’m hoping it’s just a phase of that too, but knowing my luck, probably not.”
“It gets worse as they get older, Le, but you already know that one,” Beth tells Leah, patting her on the shoulder in reassurance.
“Hey, I didn’t do out this time,” Monkey cuts in, looking up from having her head buried in her phone.
“This time,” Lia murmurs in amusement and shakes her head.
“Mummy! Mummy!” You shout aloud in excitement, gaining the attention of all the grown ups, Look how big dis’ one is! It’s huge!”
Leah let out a short gasp, “Wow, that’s massive, isn’t it?”
“Ha, that’s what she said,” Monkey chimes in, earning her a quick smack around the back of her head, “Ow! What was that for?!”
“Uh huh, it’s huge!” You continue to insist, adamant that’s the pumpkin that you want to pick, “I wan’ this one, please!”
“Okay bubba, if that’s the one you want then you can have it,” Leah replies, wasting no time in lifting the pumpkin up and dumping it into the wheelbarrow, “Monkey, are you getting one this year?” She wonders.
“Meh, sure, I’ll take whatever looks good enough to carve,” Monkey responds, shrugging her shoulders as she gestures over to one that looks at least half decent, “But I’m not touching the gunk inside of it, it’s gross!”
“I’m sure one of us can scoop it out for you,” Lia jokes, rolling her eyes as she helps lift the pumpkin up and place it in the wheelbarrow.
“Did you find a good one, Roo?” Beth wonders, taking note of the pumpkin that Rory has found which is slightly smaller than your own.
Rory beams a massive smile on her face, “Yeah, this one is pretty!”
“Pretty’s a distinctive word to use right now,” Monkey murmurs, earning another nudge in the side from Leah who shoots her a look, “Seriously, again? Yeah it’s… uh, it’s very pretty Roo.”
“Thank you,” Rory flashes her a grin, “I want this one please, Mummy!”
“I think we can do that one,” Beth agrees, picking up the pumpkin and placing it in the wheelbarrow.
“Right, so pumpkins are all picked out. How about we check out what else there is round here?” Steph suggests, her eyes gazing around as she spots something that you and Rory were definitely going to like, “Look girls, they have a petting zoo. Shall we go and see what animals they have?”
“Animals!” Rory perks up at the instant mentions of animals, “Auntie Stephy, do they have bunnies, like Twix?”
“Like they might do,” Steph nods in agreement.
“They better not have any of them pesky chickens,” Monkey’s apprehensive to go near incase they have them, “Better yet, I’ll stay here out of the way.”
“Menace, relax, they don’t have any chickens,” Leah reassures her while trying hard to stifle her own laughter, “Unless you’re afraid of being attacked by bunny rabbits and ponies, I think you’re safe.”
“Well you know, they can be vicious as well,” Monkey murmurs, showing her reluctance for not wanting to still go near them although as she nears and see’s the different bunnies she changes her tune, “Aw, the bunnies are cute. Can we get one?”
“Bunny rabbits!” You exclaim, making a run towards where they were as you stare at them in awe, “Mummy, I wan’ one of them!”
“Good luck Le,” Lia jokes, wondering how Leah is going to say no to both of you with you looking like that, “How can you say no to those adorable faces?”
Leah inwardly groans and shakes her head, “I’m sorry girls, but… but we already have a dog, remember? We don’t have room for a bunny as well,” she tells you both.
“Dat’ okay, maybe Mama will say yes instead?” You question knowing that Jordan will easily agree to a lot of things that you ask her.
Monkey nods in agreement and runs with your idea, “Good idea, Buddy. I’ll text her!”
“That wasn’t… No, I didn’t mean it like that,” Leah murmurs, pinching her nose and exhaling a sigh, “Monkey, don’t even think about texting Jord to ask for one!”
“Awh, c’mon, you’re no fun,” Monkey huffs and slumps her shoulders, “Sorry Buddy, Mums’ been a killjoy.”
“Look how cute they are, Mummy!” Rory’s eyes are wide as she is eager to pet the bunnies.
“They are cute, aren’t they?” Beth agrees with her daughter, kneeling down to a lower height, “I’m sure if we ask the nice people, they’ll let you pet them.”
“Yeah,” Rory nods along and takes a seat on one of the hay bales as one of the workers places a bunny rabbit on her lap while Rory strokes it’s soft fudge brown fur and Beth makes sure to take lots of snaps to send to Viv who’s back in Manchester currently.
“Mummy, I wan’ pet a bunny as well!” You insist, glancing up at Leah with a small pout on your face.
“Alright well sit down nicely then bubba,” Leah instructs you to sit on the hay bale beside Rory as another worker places a snow white bunny rabbit on your lap.
“Look, Mummy, the bunny looks like the one I have at home!” You declare, beaming a wide smile and you gently stroke the bunny’s soft fur.
Leah smiles and nods in agreement, “Smile, bubba. I’ll take a photo to send it to Mama for her to see,” she tells you, coaxing you to smile nicely while she snaps a quick photo and sends it to Jordan.
Le 🤠 The girls have got it in their head now they want a bunny no thanks to the trip out to pick out their pumpkins!🎃
After spending a bit of time at the petting zoo and having a chance to pet the rest of the animals that were there before moving on to see what else they had to offer.
You’re delighted to be able to get your face painted like a tiger and you take great joy in trying to roar at other people while Rory went for being a butterfly instead.
“I’m a tiger! Roar!” You pretend to growl at people nearby who pass, “I’m scary, Mummy!”
“Oh you are terrifying bubba,” Leah jokes playfully as you walk over to a nearby cafe so you can all sit down and have a bite to eat, and you’re very excited to be able to eat one of the cupcakes because they look delicious to eat while the grown ups all have a drink.
“Alright my little tiger, which one do you want to eat?” Leah questions, hoisting you up into her arms so you can peer over and pick out which cupcake you’d like to eat, going for ones’ got the most chocolate on it.
“Dat’ one, please! Get one for Monks’ as well!” You tell her, pointing her index finger straight at it, eagerly accepting it into your awaiting hands and going to sit down at the table to eat it nicely, “Today’s been fun, Mummy!” You tell her.
“Good, I’m glad you’re enjoying yourself bubba,” Leah smiles, pressing a kiss to the top of your head, “What about you, Monkey? Have you had fun?”
Monkey shrugs her shoulders while eating her own cupcake in her hand, “Yeah it hasn’t been totally dull, although it would be call if we could get a rabbit though,” She murmurs, hoping that Leah will cave eventually.
However Leah just snorts and shakes her head in disagreement, “Oh no, that is definitely not happening, I’ve already got you two and a dog to take care of… We don’t need a bunny rabbit as well,” She jokes, shaking her head in amusement and trying to ignore the pouts on both of your faces, “I’m not changing my mind on this one, girls.”
