Poppy has arms strong enough to crush a tin can whole in one hand and crush a pop bottle like said tin can with two, because she carried pop packs around to deliever to customers when the restaurants were still open. She often gets teased about being able to carry a boulder at that point, to which she now jokes about it herself.

Cumulus has an extremely impressive rock collection. She has everything from geodes and crystals to fossils and petrified wood. She also has scrapbooks filled to the brim with pressed flowers and leafs, neatly labeled by species and date. The reason? Mountain.

Shortly after Cumulus was summoned, when she was still shyly getting to know everyone, Mountain noticed her take interest in the flower beds surrounding the ministry. She seemed entranced by the bright blooms. One day he presented her with a bouquet of roses he’s grown himself and the way her eyes lit up left him smitten forever. 

She still has that original bouquet he gave her. She came to him, upset a few weeks later when the flowers had begun to wilt. She was worried she'd done something wrong and killed the poor buds. He explained that it was normal for cut flowers to die quickly and while she nodded in understanding, he could tell she was still sad. Determined to return a smile to her face, he researched a ritual to enchant the flowers to never wilt. Now the bouquet sits proudly in a vase on her dresser where she can admire it every day.

Now it’s become a thing, Mountain gifting her flowers, and it’s quickly expanded to other natural items. Enchanting flowers while possible is difficult, and besides where would she put them all? Cumulus learns how to press flowers and keeps them in scrapbooks alongside pictures of her packmates. She does the same for leaves.

She has a whole shelf dedicated to the crystals and pretty rocks he’s found for her. Her favorite is a heart shaped pebble he found on tour a few years ago and gave to her as a good luck charm before they went onstage. It’s small enough that she had it made into a pendant and she wears it as a necklace, never taking it off.

Okay so why did rad fems get the cool term. Radical feminism implies that it’s radical, as in it addresses the roots of feminist issues. But radical feminism is mainly about outright denying the roots of feminist issues? Nah it’s not about gender essentialism and the ways the patriarchy is enforced through the rigid imposition of a binary, stereotyped system of gendered oppression that views women and gender variance as inferior it’s about man bad woman good I don’t like the transgenders. It’s like how astrology got the cool word so the people who ology- study, the astro- stars, had to settle for the crappy suffix. Astronomy. Fascinating discipline, underwhelming name.

But like, radical feminism. Not feminism, certainly not radical. How dare they take the cool name and soil it with their rebranded, shortsighted, painfully normative, room-temperature regurgitation of the shit patriarchy is built on. Radical feminists should be intersectional badasses dismantling the systems misogyny and gendered discrimination are baked into; not throwing tantrums because a trans woman was too cool for their tastes or a stranger on the internet mentioned starting HRT before the age of 67 or someone said ‘folks on their periods’, failing imply menstruation is the one defining characteristic of womanhood.

Anyway radical feminism doesn’t deserve the cool name. Radical feminism sounds like it should be a bunch of trans folks and butch lesbians who ride motorcycles, engage in strategic civil disobedience and maintain vague associons with a network of anarchist communes, y’know? Shittiest branch of feminism shouldn’t get the best name is all I’m saying. I cannot express the profundity of my disappointment when I looked it up, expecting feminism that was radical and probably awesome, and found out it’s just the pseudo feminism that spawned the TERFs. Pisses me off.

I just accidentally made un-tea?????

I made green tea, but I forgot there was an old bag of chai in the kettle, so I mixed chai water with decaf green tea, then I mixed in like a half table spoon or something of that honey from the dollar store that they aren't legally allowed to call honey because there's too much corn syrup in it and some almond milk and a single drop of coffee creamer because we ran out and???? It tastes like??? Nothing????

It has LESS flavor than my tap water! HOW do you EVEN-

I think I made a flavor that's only perceptible to shrimp, that's the only explanation

Rhododendron is the QUEEN of sluts. It will not STOP. Uprooting this fast-growing monstrosity is dick and half a ball because it has strong roots and woody stems; UK conservationists hate this stuff.

The most monstrous slut, Colonel War Crimes of the slut kingdom, is Giant Hogweed. Not ONLY is it voracious, not only is it huge, but this plant is NOXIOUS. You have to sequester it off when you see it and eradicate it in PPE. Actively dangerous just to stand around.

Other sluts are sitka spruces, mile-a-minuteweed, japanese honeysuckle, skunk cabbage... very aggressive invaders. The UK is under seige with invasive species since the island is REALLY unique in its soil chemistry. Once you deacidify it, you have a hard time fixing that.

Trying to make new friends

The chance of possibly messing up a friendship from past mistakes
