I was familiar with palm leaf manuscripts but I’d never considered how the material proprieties of the palm leaf support might have influenced the scripts themselves! Neat !

Cumulus has an extremely impressive rock collection. She has everything from geodes and crystals to fossils and petrified wood. She also has scrapbooks filled to the brim with pressed flowers and leafs, neatly labeled by species and date. The reason? Mountain.
Shortly after Cumulus was summoned, when she was still shyly getting to know everyone, Mountain noticed her take interest in the flower beds surrounding the ministry. She seemed entranced by the bright blooms. One day he presented her with a bouquet of roses he’s grown himself and the way her eyes lit up left him smitten forever.
She still has that original bouquet he gave her. She came to him, upset a few weeks later when the flowers had begun to wilt. She was worried she'd done something wrong and killed the poor buds. He explained that it was normal for cut flowers to die quickly and while she nodded in understanding, he could tell she was still sad. Determined to return a smile to her face, he researched a ritual to enchant the flowers to never wilt. Now the bouquet sits proudly in a vase on her dresser where she can admire it every day.
Now it’s become a thing, Mountain gifting her flowers, and it’s quickly expanded to other natural items. Enchanting flowers while possible is difficult, and besides where would she put them all? Cumulus learns how to press flowers and keeps them in scrapbooks alongside pictures of her packmates. She does the same for leaves.
She has a whole shelf dedicated to the crystals and pretty rocks he’s found for her. Her favorite is a heart shaped pebble he found on tour a few years ago and gave to her as a good luck charm before they went onstage. It’s small enough that she had it made into a pendant and she wears it as a necklace, never taking it off.

Ok dude to a recent post of yours is have to know what other plants are sluts?
Rhododendron is the QUEEN of sluts. It will not STOP. Uprooting this fast-growing monstrosity is dick and half a ball because it has strong roots and woody stems; UK conservationists hate this stuff.
The most monstrous slut, Colonel War Crimes of the slut kingdom, is Giant Hogweed. Not ONLY is it voracious, not only is it huge, but this plant is NOXIOUS. You have to sequester it off when you see it and eradicate it in PPE. Actively dangerous just to stand around.
Other sluts are sitka spruces, mile-a-minuteweed, japanese honeysuckle, skunk cabbage... very aggressive invaders. The UK is under seige with invasive species since the island is REALLY unique in its soil chemistry. Once you deacidify it, you have a hard time fixing that.
#Funfact! Earthworms are invasive to America and they came from Europe/UK#American forests did not evolve for earthworms to break down leaf litter the way they do#The UK did#Im noticing that in the uk there's a theme of having large and small animals (humans worms hogs)--#That churn the soil in some way and the ecosystem really being built around that#So when you get a new plant that fucks with that cycle it causes brand new problems#Especially pioneer plants that would ANYWHERE ELSE help fix an environment#But moor and bog is *supposed* to be like this#Cw vulgar language#Bone babble

As a tea lover myself, how the fuck-
I just accidentally made un-tea?????
I made green tea, but I forgot there was an old bag of chai in the kettle, so I mixed chai water with decaf green tea, then I mixed in like a half table spoon or something of that honey from the dollar store that they aren't legally allowed to call honey because there's too much corn syrup in it and some almond milk and a single drop of coffee creamer because we ran out and???? It tastes like??? Nothing????
It has LESS flavor than my tap water! HOW do you EVEN-
I think I made a flavor that's only perceptible to shrimp, that's the only explanation
#magic map#leaf language#twilight discoveries#i'm just as confused as anybody here#how do you fumble making tea so badly#at least the interactions are funny lol

Trying to make new friends
The chance of possibly messing up a friendship from past mistakes
Being timed
The common thing in film and shows of something completely normal going wrong like a date that goes smooth at first, then random stuff happens (it gets old real fast)
Not hearing someone clearly and having to say that I didn't hear them
Being left by myself when someone with me goes to do something (like the time mom left me at the checkout in Walmart to get something and it was just awkward silence until she came back)
Trying to make something look perfect the best I can
Wanting to tell others about my problems but thinking that I'd just be a nuisance
My father (though I have a burning hatred for him)
Not listening to music while out doing things, even if it's at a low volume enough to hear someone if needed
Having to tell someone that I don't like what they are doing
That's all I can think of for now
What’s something that gives your anxiety?

norwegian word of the day
løv (n)
noun leaves, leaf
(sing. indef) et løv
(sing. def) løvet
(plur. indef.) løv
(plur. def.) løva, løvene
Jeg må ut og rake løv i hagen. / I have to go out and rake leaves in the garden.
Nå som høsten er her, faller løvet fra trærne. / Now that autumn/fall is here, the leaves are falling from the trees.
note: even though "løvet" is the singular definite form, it is often referring to leaves in plural (as you can see in the second example). The word "løvblad" can be used to refer to a single leaf.

super quiet lowkey confession;
Liaos barking like a dog to scare out the monster was so embarrassing
...............................................
cause my autistic ass has done that irl more times than I'd like to admit to the internets u-u;
#look; sometimes you get cows that will not listen and you get annoyed enough to want to appeal to them in an animal language they will heed#and I tell you they often WILL snap to attention to you if you start barking like you mean it#I've also taking a leaf from Dakota (our dog)'s book and jumped side to side where necessary to deal with them- though more rarely
