Exposure to the void has had long term consequences for Lizzie, and it is affecting her afterlives. As time goes on it is causing her lives and personalities within those lives to become more erratic and brief, with the enigma being the latest result.She is now a hodgepodge of the lives that came before her, both something completely new and something long dead. She is unknowable, unpredictable, and not entirely real hence the disappearing.  I like to think that for everyone else, no one has actually ever seen her walk before. She’s just stood in one place, and then you look away, and now she’s somewhere else.  She answers every question with “perhaps” and everyone wants her dead for it

man. i genuinely love enigma!lizzie so much.

like- her being an amalgamation of her past lives, each of it's characteristics and traits being combined into one life form. you can tell that she's a mystery to those who are unfortunate to even get a glimpse of her. her stare alone will kill you, and it will make it a slow one.

she's not supposed to be here. i personally like to think that the reason she was reborn as a enigma, a combination of all her past lives, is that they were all so short and they didn't get to truly live out their dreams. so, after so many losses, all of the resentment and anger came back as a beast, a creature of the Void, a thing that should not be here.

it's such a cool concept and origin imo and im having so much brainrot over it!!!

Enigma's sister Bird and Goolien are dead. They were killed by the League of Villans before the story started. Enigma is blaming the League but also the so called "heroes" as they did nothing to save them.

Enigma trapped their base and the Spawn, they planned to kill them one by one, but when the newbie came? And 4 of her enemies also showed up? It was too good of an opurtunity to pass up.

We don't yet know if the explosion killed anyone. Enigma just made them unable to escape, set up the time on her little device, and then left before they confirmed their kills...just like a "proper villain" would

Lizzie being an enigma, with her skin being a frankenstein of parts from her previous lives, and being almost see through, makes me think that all her previous lives’ frustrations at their deaths and their wishes to survive and thrive, manifested themselves into a physical form that the void spat out into the world.

She’s basically a ghost, a combined ghost of all her lives. She’s technically not even supposed to exist, but for some reason, she is. 

Which is why Lizzie’s current base is the way it is, it’s hidden from sight cause she’s not supposed to even be there. The decorations are all different cause each part of her has a different style when they were living. 

Also villagers can’t trade with her and animals can’t be tamed by her, because she’s not there. She can sometimes phase through walls, because she’s not there. She can disappear and suddenly reappear somewhere else, because she’s not there.

When you are on the receiving end of her death stare, you feel as though someone’s watching you, even though no one’s around. Sometimes, you think you see someone, someone familiar... but they disappear as soon as you get close. You feel extremely anxious and panicked, things start to go dark and you begin to see so many Lizzies. Each of them is a different Lizzie, but they’re all see-through and they’re all staring at you.

And at the brink of death, just before you breathe your last breath, all the Lizzie’s become clearer... and they’re all corpses of her past lives. 

A Racoon, being swallowed by darkness, a Floran, completely grey and wilting, a Goolien, with her body and face melting, a Kangaroo, bloody with chunks of her bitten off, and a Bird, zombie-fied and bruised.

Sometimes Lizzie dissociates cause of her disconnect with this plane of reality, and the jumble of voices and identities that make up her. And also sometimes, she talks to the parrot head that she kept, treating it as an actual pet and leaving some seeds in front of it. Just so she can feel that there’s someone with her.

Sheesh why do I keep thinking of angst even though I know Lizzie would use this origin and become a trickster instead and have fun messing around with people asdfghjklkjhg
