listen i get the idea behind what they were trying to do with that ending. they wanted to show us the “reality” of how harsh the world was (and still is) towards women and people who don’t fit societal norms. BUT the thing is this show was supposed to be motivating and a comfort to people who in some way related to these wonderful characters, and by literally killing all of them you’re killing the connection (and trust) that people have to the show. these characters were so special to me and i just feel as if they’ve been taken from me, but not in the way i expected. the writers truly failed in showing hopefulness or even an ounce of happiness and i hate them for that

So I just finished Las Chicas del Cable Season 5 Part 2....and...uh..

It felt super rushed? At least 80% of the plot and especially the ending made 0 sense? What was the damn point of all the shit they went through if they just fucking DIED in the end? They really thought this was some kind of empowering feminist shit, instead of, jeez I don’t know, finally letting these women live a happy free life with their families? Why are writers always so allergic to genuinely happy endings, who hurt you people?

IMO in the LCDC finale there’s SOME story arc justice for Carlota in that I do think she was always meant to sacrifice her life on the front line (preferably as a Republican soldier) but I just did! not! like! how we got here. The woman who ran for mayor in 1931 wouldn’t have stood aside in the way Carlota did in the later half of the series, even after the trauma of season 4. So there’s a little relief in seeing her arc tied up in the way it should’ve been all along, especially after the total failure of the writers with her plot lines in season 5a. But G-d, at what cost?

so i’ve been rewatching lcdp from the beginning bc my obsession is 📈📈📈 and it’s so fun noticing al the little things i didn’t the first time through🥰

so the first part of season 5 of las chicas del cable was...

a few highlights:

francisco gomez aka amor de mi vida only having like 5 scenes was a personal attack BUT he totally owned every single one of them, being the best husband and father AND a fashion icon ugh his power 🥰😍💖

also francisco and lidia barely having any scenes together was disappointing 😡 but their phone calls, francisco calling lidia and eva “cariño”, their reunion and the fact that they’ve been living it up together as a family in new york for 8 YEARS...wow winning feels real good 🥳💃

francisco slapping the shit out of carlos..the sound it made, the impact.....god that was *sniffles* just so beautiful!!

ugly disgusting facist scumbag carlos finally dying 🎉🎇 WOW CELEBRATE GOOD TIMES COME ON 🍾🥂😎

can’t believe some people still like carlos and carlidia, truly SICK and TWISTED...dude didn’t give a shit about his daughter for 8 years, TURNED INTO A FASCIST, wanted to bring eva to the middle of a civil war just to hurt lidia, almost killed sofia....ugh the list goes on 😷
