working on Worldstop & Polite Benry posed a BIT of difficulty because they're SO similar!- BUT i'm quite happy with how they turned out

Dr Sleepless!

• went a bit heavier on the makeup

• ze has a heck ton of glitter in their hair and a slight purple tint at the ends simply because i think it would be fun and becuase originally it started as him using glitter in his Late Late Late Late Late Show and then ze started doing it intentionally

• changed his coat! the stars and glitter are now on the inner part but its fine since ze spends so much time posing dramatically that it can always be seem flowing like a cape

• this isn't visual but since i'm talking about them i'm adding this: Sleepless' coat has cartoony physics pockets. ze can pull ANYTHING out of them. no matter how big or how much,,, he can pull 2000 rubber ducks out of completely flat looking pockets if ze wanted to.

Darnold!

• gave him a bag for all his potions, it stores both complete potions and the items he may need to craft new ones on the spot

• slightly changed his visor but kept it mostly, removed the coded binary from Kittles hacks during the events of the Worldstop AU

• slightly upgraded rocket boots

• FLAME TROUSERS!! i wasn't sure if i should add [potion] bubbles or flames, flames felt a bit that they were stepping on Bubbys flame motifs buuuut with the rocket boots i quite like it-

• added a couple heart and pin stickers which were DEFINITELY slapped there by LB- along with the writing on his bag which is 100% glitter gel pen.

• HAIR TUFTS! i just can't help myself, Mailman has some of the fluffiest (but kinda greasy) hair of all

• slightly simplified his Bot forms vest design & nametag, & included the slot where he can print his own little notes (canon)

• both of them have a friendship necklace that Loverboy made with craft beads so that they can match (i like to think that he absolutely BUGGED Spork to make Benrys virtual model a necklace like the one he'd made for the tiny Bot) (ALSO Gordon B would probably maybe make him another when hes uninfected?-)

• didn't do much, his designs brilliant (i LOVE the Admins matching tron outfits so much!!) all i really did was add a bit of a cape to it to match with the other Admins long coats + bit more blue in places

• the MOST. NORMAL. Person you will ever know!

• his badge says "RESTRICTED RESEARCH" after the department that the Mad Science Team work in and it was handmade by their Tommy, its sort of his new security badge and he will flash it to people when hes guarding the science team

• his helmet has been through hell - it has a green sludge splash that stained and will never come out, it has a patch of metal becuase it had to be fixed after a LASER cut through it (Polite Benry was completely unharmed, it was a cartoony moment where he dodged the laser and his helmet fell off but stayed in place midair and started spinning as the laser cut into it), its got some scratches and a patch where it got struck by Bubbys electrokinisis on accident but its still a very important item to him :]

• now. i really tried- i tried to make him look a bit more boxey than the rest because he is a Gmod NPC from the 2000s hes a bit more blocky hes a bit squared

• MISSING TEXTURE HAIR. BECAUSE I CAN. i said in a post before i didn't want to go too overboard with the missing texture motif since its part of Kittle (& Trips) designs but i wanted to do a bit more than just his helmet inside having the texture- hes a glitched NPC, he has access to a lot of the Gmod assets, hes in place of the Nihilanth & his original model probably wasn't even a Barney so hes ALLOWED to have a couple hidden fucked up textures-

• his uniform is also just slightly more purple just slightly (mainly because i wanted him and Polite Benry to not look identical (they both went through several changes & redraws since i started drawing these becuase they did at one point look like the exact same just minus 1 helmet & minus 1 vest))

• the blue in his eyes is (i'm pretty sure unless i changed it slightly) directly ripped from the Gmod logo

Nirvana was born with a gift to appreciate the unusual. At least, that's how her aunt would explain her all-black attire and obscurely-colored hair phase at family events. She was always a square peg in a round hole. This was something she grew used to and actually favored her individuality. There was a part of her that pitied the other girls who attempted to fit in when she grew up being shamelessly herself. Though she was labeled as an outcast, she still had something about her that drew people in. She had a great group of friends, and her fair share of experimental relationships. In short: she didn't miss anything, but she wouldn't have cared if she did. Her aunt was the one who taught her about spirituality after Nirvana had a paranormal experience at the age of 5. Whilst being in a Catholic household, Nirvana and her aunt would often sneak in order to practice their own eclectic belief. Magic, tarot cards, seances, you name it - Nirvana has dabbled in it. What no one was expecting was for her to make a career move out of it. It started in high school, she helped assist her teacher in their paranormal investigation group. It was through this teacher that she learned about anomalies and the role of the paranormal in anthropology. Her job as an investigator was just the groundwork for her BA in Anthropology with a specialization in Women and Minority Studies where she learned more about the occult across various religions and cultures as well as witchcraft and the impact and power women have within interaction, at the University of Exeter. Born in the slums of Vista del Rey, Heywood, Paola is the oldest of twins--born a few minutes before Paolo. Their parents were working class, often juggling multiple jobs to make ends meet and keep a roof over their heads. At times, they lacked material possessions, but their parents always made sure to keep the house filled with warmth and love. The children grew up with relatively normal, happy lives until tragedy before upon the small family.

Their father had contracted an illness and passed not long after, leaving the grieving widow left to raise her young twins alone. She worked herself to the bone to feed her children, something the twins didn't fail to notice and acknowledge. Their mother was different now--hollow and sad, no longer the ray of light she used to be. But she held strong, for her beloved twins.

Unfortunately, the cruel hand of fate was not done with the Velasquez twins. Overworked to the point of exhaustion, their mother collapse one day, her heart giving out. She, too, had passed.

At the young age of thirteen, Paola and Paolo were now orphans, their family broken beyond repair. From then on, they became children of the streets, doing whatever they could to fend for themselves. They began to pick up a few skills, learning how to pickpocket targets and becoming experts at pocketing items they couldn't afford to buy. By the time they were sixteen, the twins had become very well versed in thievery, either for themselves or doing the odd favor here and there for extra cash. The two eventually ventured into the world of mercenaries.

Around the age of twenty, Paola met a charismatic Tyger Claw named Shohei Arai. The attraction was instant and the passion was immediate. It didn't take long for the two to fall into a relationship, despite the troubling lifestyles. However, boundaries were set immediately--she was not to ask about his gang life and he was not to meddle in her mercenary affairs. Surprisingly, it worked for them and the two happily settled into their new life together.

The next four years of their lives had several hurdles, but nothing they couldn't manage. Shohei began to rise in the ranks of his gang, while Paola along with her brother, began to solidify their place within the mercenary career. Though, things began to become difficult when encounters with rival gangs began to become more frequent, as well as infighting within the Claws.

Outings between the two began to become much more dangerous, with both of them having to look over their shoulders. Things eventually escalated when Paola began to be targeted, using her as a pawn to threaten and intimidate Shohei.

This was where the line was drawn.

Despite the love shared between the two, Paola and Shohei mutually agreed to end their four year relationship, for both their safety. Paola was heartbroken, as was Shohei. Within the next couple of months, the two tried their best to keep their distance from one another but could not deny that the urge to be together was still strong. They both agreed to work things out, even speaking of the possibility of fleeing Night City together.

Unfortunately, Shohei's gang life finally caught up to him before they could elope. At the age of twenty-four, Paola's life was shattered once again when Shohei was killed. She never knew what exactly happened, but word spread quick of the demise of Shohei Arai.

Akari: wants to do protag things Adaman: you nearly died right before my eyes not happening :)

TLDR: Adaman and Ingo put Akari under constant supervision after an incident with Volo and Akari isn't happy about it.

SO, STORY POINT: During a meeting post a confrontation that Akari has with Volo, the man in question manages to sneak up on her and the group she's with (Adaman, Ingo, Rei and Melli) and attacks Akari, nearly killing her because her boon wasn't activated. Adaman - in a desperate last-ditch attempt to save Akari gets a rather speical boon from Dialga (a Rare Case, Dialga calls it) and reverses time for him, giving him the ability to prevent Volo from attacking her and sending him on the run. Akari is put under "house arrest" aka someone has to be with her at all times - usually Adaman - while Volo is out on the run. Everyone is shaken up by it but Akari, who wants to stop Volo herself.

She's not having fun. TBH neither is Adaman, he's just better at hiding how on-edge he currently is.

Eyyy it’s the boy!

Rei gets a whole-ass B plot and side quests in the Legendary Boon AU that take up a solid part of the second act, with all of these boons ending up being verrrrrry helpful in the narrative at certain points!

One of Laventon’s main points of research besides his more direct Pokemon research is on Boons and which Pokemon can grant them. Rei is the one in charge of that field work - both searching and recording - while Akari is focused on the PokeDex. Rei is very proud of this work!

Laventon tasks him with researching the three lakes and their respective pokemon after hearing Adaman and Irida talk about them. Rei takes it very seriously

The first boon he receives is Azelf’s. The “willpower” Pokemon gives a burst of “confidence” to its blessed - a blessing that Rei takes full advantage of during the Red Sky affair, and a few other situations. (This one can get used to comedic effect and... ngl its pretty funny)

Mesprit was next, and this boon is the easiest to abuse and use incorrectly... He did however get to use it to help Akari to help others understand the depth of her emotions. This also comes in handy in helping the Professor, but thats a biiit of a spoiler :)

Uxie’s is the most plot-relevant of the boons, with Rei’s use of this power being the direct cause of Ingo’s memory recovery. Ingo is actually right there with Rei, as Volo informed Ingo of the legendary’s supposed blessing and pointed him in Rei’s direction. This is the beginning of when shit seriously hits the fan for this AU, and it wouldn’t happen without Rei

Now... Rei *does* get one more boon.... but.. that’s a surprise :)c

Adaman with Dialga and Irida with Palkia, as well as Rei with the smaller boons of Uxie, Azelf and Mesprit (unlike other legendary pokemon, whose boons often gift the user with 2 to 3 abilities, the lake legendary pokemon only offer one boon each)

Rei gets his own B plot concerning visiting the lakes on the behest of Laventon (for Mesprit and Azelf) and going with Ingo to Uxie, where he uses the pokemon’s Boon to recover Ingo’s memory

Both Adaman and Irida get their boons during/after the Red Sky Debacle, and once things simmer down its interesting to see how they use the powers bestowed upon them by the “gods” they worship.

Big Bro Adaman is severely underused in this fandom - he exudes that energy and I am using it to its full potential in this AU - especially after he is gifted his boon and shit really starts to hit the fan
