The message on Armin's phone lit up, the sound of the iMessage notification ringing across the room, causing the attention to switch to the dirty blonde man for a second. He looked down at the message from "mi amor 💍" and opened up the conversation fully to reveal three images.

Armin's breath caught in his throat as he stared at the pictures, two of them depicting his wife fully naked in front of their bedroom mirror and one of the photos showcasing her silhouette against a blank wall, the light from their windows illuminating her figure, showing off her curves and full chest.

Armin cursed internally, immediately shutting off his phone, trying not to draw attention to himself, his cheeks flushed as he tried to concentrate on the meeting. He prayed to God that no one had seen the images of his wife, and he knew that he would have a talk with her later about when to send those kinds of pictures.

"Pardon me, guys, I have to step out for a moment." Armin stated to his colleagues, leaving the room with his phone in hand. Once outside of the firm, he opened his phone back up again, the pictures on full display. He admired the way his wife looked, shaking his head and scoffing as he thought about how naughty she was attempting to be. Slowly, he could feel himself getting riled up at the sight of his lover, so he closed out of messages and decided to ring her up instead of responding through text.

After the third ring, the call connected.

"Armin?" She asked, almost seeming confused. "I thought you were in a meeting, is everything okay?"

She was playing dumb. He wasn't a fan.

"I was in a meeting, yes." Armin's jaw clenched at how naive his wife was attempting to be. "Don't play dumb with me, baby."

"What do you mean?" She questioned. He could almost hear the smirk on the other side of the line, and he wasn't having any of it.

He scoffed, rubbing his brow. "You sent me nudes at work! I was in an important meeting, you know this."

"Did you not like them?" His wife pouted behind the screen, her legs rubbing against each other, wishing that her husband was home to pay attention to her.

"Obviously I did, that's why I'm calling you." Armin sounded annoyed, and she felt bad (but she didn't, really.) "I had to leave because of you."

"M'sorry."

"You're not sorry, you just want attention from me."

"I miss you." She admitted, twirling her fingers at the thought of Armin returning home to her later. "I didn't get to see you this morning, you know. You left without waking me up."

"I left because it was 7 am and I didn't want to disturb you. I told you last night that I would be home before dinner."

"That's too late, Min." He could tell over the phone that she was getting antsy and annoyed, her voice becoming higher and whinier. "I want you now, I woke up wanting you."

Armin cursed aloud, the word echoing into his phone, eliciting a soft whine from his wife. "I have to stay in this meeting, love. I'll see you when I get home."

"What am I supposed to do with myself?" She sighed out, whining as she shifted her hips on their bed, something Armin couldn't see. "I'm all alone."

"You can wait for me, right?"

"I don't want to, that's not fair." His wife sighed out, getting impatient.

"Life isn't fair, babe. You'll wait for me to come home. I'm not leaving work for this."

She sighed out, rubbing her thighs together at the thought of her husband getting annoyed at her in such a way. She smiled at the idea of working him up even more by letting him know what she would be doing while he was in his meeting. "Fine. I'll just go take a shower then, hmm?"

"God, baby, stop doing that."

"I'm not doing anything, Min."

"You know what you're doing. Don't send me these again today unless you want me to stay at work longer." His voice was strict, as if he was actually angry, yet she knew it was just a disguise so he wouldn't break under the pressure from his wife.

"M'kay, fine, you're boring. Go back to your meeting, babe, I love you."

"Love you too, I'll see you in a few hours."

"Take your time, Min! I'll just be here, wishing my fingers were yours." She hung up the phone, smirking as she realized how bothered she had just made her husband.

Armin stared at his phone in disbelief, the screen fading to black as he waited in the parking lot, trying not to think about his wife's pictures and what she was probably doing in that moment as he thanked God that he wore his larger slacks that day, as his physical issue wouldn't be as prominent when he walked back into the room.

Needless to say, he only stayed for two more hours at that meeting, after his wife had sent him an explicit audio recording.

"...Yes?" Jean replies, just as dubiously. Not really sure what else Armin might've been expecting. Until he points out he's been radio silent all weekend and therefore simply just had to assume he must've gone and gotten his heart stomped on. Again.

"Wow..." Jean huffs right back at him, feeling like the winds been taken out of his already battered sails. "Way t' kick a man when he's down, buddy. I really appreciate that, thanks." He sneers, smiling sarcastically at him as he claps down his hand in an equally sarcastic gesture of gratitude on top of his shoulder, before he slips around him again to go and push the curtains open a bit wider. Try and brighten up the place some. Make it not look so miserable in here.

Besides, it's kinda hard to get stood up with no date for him to get stood up by in the first place, but Armin probably knows that already. It's hardly a secret with Eren around that Mikasa had shot him down about a month ago.

"I jus' wasn't feelin' it, that's all. Thought I'd get more joy outta bingin' my favorite series this weekend, but," his laugh is dryer than the sun. "Look how that turned out."

"I do, actually..." A pair of blue eyes follow Jean with uncertainty as the taller boy crosses in front of him and dumps a pile of papers on top of the offending ice cream cartons. As if that'll do him any good. The damage is already done. Two empty pints of ice cream in an open top bin are kind of hard to miss, and Jean hadn't been out of his room for two days. It's only natural that someone would come looking for him eventually. Unfortunately, the someone in question just happens to be Armin and his unholy observational skills.

Connie and Ony will be the loves of our lives--now of course!

But I feel like if Armin came over one day to make it right with you, not knowing you had--not one but TWO--men that loved you like there was no end. You never talked to him, so what was there to tell him now?

So imagine you're not home, but rather at school focusing on your studies so you could be a lawyer. Meanwhile Connie and Onyankopon are enjoying their days off of work, cleaning the house or sometimes running out to get something from the store. They were getting ready to finally head out of the door while Armin was just about to press the doorbell. As soon as Ony swung open the door to step out, he was met with a shorter man with blonde hair, ocean blue irises, and freckles along the bridge of his nose and some sprinkling around his cheeks. He was holding a bouquet of what seemed to be your favorite flowers and a little pink bear. Connie was unaware of the reason his boyfriend came to a quick halt right in front of him "Ony, what the fuck!" He said, bumping into his back and his phone falling from out of his hands and onto his foot, having him to wince in pain and whisper curses as he bent to retrieve his phone. The silence between Armin and Ony was loud, just before Ony spoke up first--er... Tried to.

"Who the fuck is you?"

"Is Y/N here?"

They both fell silent. The bass in their voices startling one another. Armin had a hunch that Ony's voice would be deep, but not as raspy as it was. While Ony thought Armin's voice would be as quiet and hushed as an embarrassed kid, only to be met with a fairly deep and silky voice.

Connie heard the doubling voices and grew more curious "Hey O'. Who's that?"he asked, pushing his bofriend out of the wy of the front door to attempt getting a peek of the person standing before him.

He was able to push him aside and get a view of the person in front of the door. He stood there, confused and somewhat angered. Standing tall to look down on the slightly shorter male, crossing his arms in front of his chest to seem more intimidating.

"What you need to see her fa'?" Ony asked deeply. Stuffing his keys and hands into his pockets and slumping over just a bit. "Oh, y'all must be her luh' friends. Imma just-" he cut himself off, squeezing between the men and welcoming himself into the house. This took Connie and Ony by surprise and angered them even more.

Armin is fr so disrespectful, he don't care about them. He would be the type to let them walk in and watch you get your back blown out. Then he'd be found somewhere in the dumpster the next day :)

What jobs could AOT characters have?

Eren: He strikes me as someone who changes jobs often. He'd get bored of one activity pretty quickly. To him, his job is just a way to earn some money that he can use to have fun with his friends. Pensions who, am I right?

Mikasa: Kindergarten carer. Her motherly personality is perfect for this, and she loves kids so much. The kids also love being lifted high up in the air so they often use Mikasa as a seesaw.

Armin: Teacher, most likely geography. He's the type to travel the world and teach in different countries. This lifestyle allows him to learn more about local cultures, languages and traditions. It fascinates him!

Annie: Traveling the world with Armin means finding work can be quite tough unless you know the language. When she can, she will work as a bartender. She quite enjoys mixing drinks and listening to people's life stories. She gets fired pretty often for her lack of customer service etiquette though.

Jean: Corporate job. He wanted to be an artist but didn't quite try hard enough, so now he's stuck between grey walls that drive him insane. The pay is good thankfully, so in his spare time he can afford luxurious trips and dinners. Reiner often encourages him to keep working towards his dream of becoming an artist and even offers to pose for Jean to draw.

Reiner: Counsellor. He likes being able to help people get over their troubles just like he did with his own. It's not an easy job but it's very rewarding when successful. Though, sometimes he ends up being the patient while Jean listens to him complain about his life. Or Pieck... or Annie... or...

Connie: Personal trainer. This dude will get you into the exact shape that you want. It's so hard to keep up with him, he's way faster than you. More agile, more flexible. How the hell does he bend like that? One day you try to do the same, but you end up in hospital. Don't worry, Connie has insurance.

Sasha: Camp instructor! Loves organizing all sorts of activities with kids and teens including archery, canoeing, climbing, hiking. She loves being in nature. The only thing she hates about this job is the horror story time around the campfire.

Pieck: Work? Pieck? Nah! If anyone's got some sort of sugar daddy, it would be Pieck. She lives incredibly comfortably for someone who appears to be both single and unemployed. Ah, the joys of being both incredibly beautiful and incredibly devilish.

Falco and Gabi: They are still young, so the best they could do is work over the summer at a theme park. The pay is shit but the location is amazing and they get to ride for free!

Yelena: Lawyer. Like, we all know Yelena. It's better to have her on your side than be against her. And it's even better if she's your lawyer. You could get away with almost anything! Right??

Zeke: Baseball instructor. He trains the local team and is known as one of the best players in the area. Now he uses his time to help kids learn how to play. Legend says Zeke can throw a ball so far away that some are still stuck orbiting around Earth.

Onyankopon: Pilot. Passengers usually take a liking to him. He's so charismatic and friendly. He enjoys making jokes over the radio with the other members of the crew. The amazing views is what he loves the most about his job. And the free snacks.

Levi and Hange: This man's in no shape to do any kind of physical work right now, but instead aids Hange with her job. She owns a private Pathology clinic. How does Levi help, exactly? Well he makes sure she stays hydrated and does her taxes. Basically a secretary of some sorts. He even has a cute nameplate on his desk.

Modern College Student/BF Armin Arlert Headcanons

(rewatching aot and damn I forgot how much I love armin.  someone pls put me onto some good armin fan fiction?  this boy doesn’t get anough attention honestly, lemme know if you guys want me to do anyone else, im thinking eren next?)

Pre law student

I think in the modern world, Armin would only look at his love for the ocean and nature as hobbies.  When it comes to investing in his education and making money to support himself and his family, he’d go into a major he’s good at just to be safe.  And that’s persuasive arguments, crazy attention to detail and maybe a little manipulation for the greater good so yeah…lawyer it is 🙂

Currently focusing on political science for his BA before law school

Shares a small apartment with Eren and Mikasa cuz they all looked at dorm life and were collectively like “yea, fuck that”

Armin and Mikasa are up first every morning, and they usually share a lil breakfast together before deciding which one should dare try to drag Eren out of bed

Has the best color-coded notes, the type of student to type into the chats links to resources he found helpful when doing the homework, pulls thru with the quizlet right before quizzes

Heavy on that study beats, listens to it even when not studying

Has canva pro and no you cannot use it 🫶🏻

Strict study schedule but he doesn’t go overboard like other honor kids.  He gives himself plenty of breaks and plans his workload so he can enjoy his weekends bc he knows he’ll be useless all burnout 

His Starbucks order is an iced brown sugar oat milk shaken espresso, sometimes with a blueberry muffin, boy likes his sweets

The Starbucks staff around the corner knows him personally and even have a lil crush on him since he's there so often, polite and always puts something in the tip jar (he may get a few free cake pops here and there)

Loves the sims and doing little legacy challenges, the type to get emotional when his sim gets married or has kids because he fr raised them

Deep into the lore too, has his theories about Bella Goth and hates Don Lothario with a passion

One time Eren deleted his saved family and Armin didn’t speak to that man for two weeks

Secretly loves fanfiction but only found family fanfiction bc it reminds him so much of his relationship with Eren and Mikasa. Soft spot for anything Harry Potter tho (proud ravenclaw)

I don’t think he’d smoke weed bc I feel like he’d be a paranoid high so it’d be more stressful than relaxing tbh

Date nights are museums, cafes, planetariums, sometimes you guys will even take a class together

In no particular order, here's my take on it:

Reiner would be team Edward, simply because the show told him to. Why bother with theoretical ships when BellaxEdward is cannon

Pieck would also be on team Edward- all the pining and anticipation won her over

Jean would act all cool and pretend he doesn't care about it at all, but deep down he's an Edward defender through and through

Connie and Sasha are on team Jacob, because werewolf (and also there's something comforting in the childhood friend turned lover. But mainly because they're into werewolves)

I think Bert will also be on team Jacob, because he can empathize with the guy and his unrequited feelings

Hitch is team Edward because of the vampire aesthetic and nothing more

As I've said in earlier posts, Armin is a fierce Jacob defender, whereas Mikasa is a convinced team Edward, and neither of them is shy to show it. It gets to the point where they'd make entire PowerPoint presentations and have whole debates over who was the better choice. They'd defend their ships like their lives depended on it, writing analyses and character meta and all that jazz. Meanwhile, Eren and Annie are sharing a bag of popcorn and enjoying the show. Mikasa and Armin would ask them to be the judges and settle this once and for all. Annie, in true Annie manner, refuses to get involved, and Eren says something vague, like "What's really important are the friends we've made along the way, the lessons we've learned" et al. The two would stare him down for a whole minute, with Annie breaking down laughing in the background, then pick it up where they'd left off.

Oh, also, I think Gabi takes after Armin, in the sense that she takes this debate very seriously and would defend Jacob with all her might. Falco, Zofia and Udo are a bit concerned for their friend

And as for their counterparts, I think the Warriors as the Volutri would be an interesting concept. Zeke would be their leader, so the counterpart of Aro, and would have his abilities- tactile telepathy, the ability to read people's minds by touching them. He founded the coven and made it his goal to recruit the most talented young people and turn them into vampires. The first person he recruited was Pieck, which would be the counterpart of Renata, her ability being aversion field- she can deflect all kinds of physical assault and shield herself and those in her immediate proximity. Then came the Galliard brothers, who have the ability to track people by the essence of their mind alone, except Marco is more skilled than his brother and Porco is constantly trying to overtake him and prove that he is 'the better brother'. Then Bert would be the ability detector, much like Eleazar is in the saga. Lastly, I like the thought of Reiner and Annie as Alec and Jane- Reiner would have the ability to cut off a person's senses, and Annie would inflict illusory pain on people. It would go well with their physical strengths, and could potentially make them siblings, which would be so fun to explore.

Then, the Scouts would be like the Cullens- a found family made up of strays. It originally consisted of just Erwin, Hange and Levi, a little group of vampires who were trying to blend in with humans. They'd move around every like 20-30 years so as to not attract much attention over the fact that they weren't aging, and take on basic human occupations- Levi would usually sign up as a janitor, whereas Hange would find all kinds of odd teaching jobs, and Erwin would change career paths (first he was a doctor, then a lawyer, and then he was a school principal when the three of them met the kids). Then they met the kids- Eren, Mikasa and Armin, three orphans on the run from a bunch of murderers. When turned, Eren would probably inherit Edward's telepathic abilities, Mikasa would have Alice's ability to predict the future based on one's current convictions, and Armin would have Jasper's ability to sense and manipulate one's feelings.

Lastly, Sasha, Jean and Connie would be werewolves. They strayed away from their pack and got left behind during a general migration, and were ultimately 'adopted' by the scouts.

Now, this whole ordeal leads to a lot of questions- how would the characters' relations develop? Where would the conflict lay, given there's no human to kick it off? How would the Volturi and the Scouts interact if the main conflict point of the saga (the Cullens bending the rules by taking a human in) is taken away? These would for sure be very interesting to explore, too.

I see her as someone who’s still a bit ambiguous as to what her plan is in the future but business is something she chooses because she always had a little dream to own a shop (preferably a bookshop or a cafe) and kind of expand on that idea and be a business owner. She definitely takes a bunch of literature and creative writing electives though to keep up with her love of reading and writing.

Eren: prelaw/poli sci

He has repeatedly mentioned that he wants to be a lawyer and he loves watching crime docuseries because being a prosecutor or criminal lawyer had been a dream of his (among other things) Seeing the way Faye’s life ended and her legal proceedings were something that fueled him even more to work harder and we see a lot of that in the story

Armin: Biochemistry/minor in education

Its canon that armin is intelligent. He pays close attention to his work and takes a lot of pride and joy in it. I see him as someone that utilizes this in a forensic scientist/psychology type of path and work with major leagues like for example in the criminal justice system and helping humanity in some way with his intellect

Let’s forget the fact educators unfortunately don’t make much but it’s canon that armin is an intellectual and strong person who is capable of leading and teaching others. I see him as someone who pursues the highest form of education and hopes to get a phd in something that he would hope to teach as a professor himself

Sasha: Marketing

Sasha’s super friendly and is someone that is passionate and overall uplifting to the people around her. If she were to be working on a sales pitch I know she’d be amazing because her personality would outshine the lack of need of a certain product or service but whoever is listening to her would invest so quick in that LMAO

Connie: Undecided/ends up choosing business as well

He has an innovative mind and is much more clever than he’s given credit for. He’s the type of guy i see as wanting to prove his worth and super interactive with work and ideas

Mikasa: Sports medicine

She’s super into nutrition and health related stuff (in tlal) as well as keeping fit. She would be an amazing physical therapist or athletic trainer and she’d feel so much pride in that i feel

Jean: Business… as well

He never really wanted to pursue football professionally and wanted to be his own boss. I don’t see him as someone who would want to take orders or work happily under anyone else. Let’s be real, he’s pretty smart and could do literally anything (except bag Mikasa)

Pieck: Nursing

She has such a nurturing personality that i feel like she would be in health care in some way. We see her nurturing side a lot with y/n in the story as well as gabi and falco.

N/A : Okay so this post really took a while to write because I really struggle with it yet I tried something and I hope that you'll like it still !

info : it takes place at the end of UL except for Kentin where it's during HSL

𝙲𝚊𝚜𝚝𝚒𝚎𝚕 :

Castiel probably noticed that Candy wasn’t really enthusiastic about her degree but at the same time she was studying law/medicine so he thought this was normal 

(I mean from personal experiences and from what I’ve observed, at university it’s almost impossible to differentiate someone who doesn’t like their degree or someone that’s simply struggling with it. At some point everyone has their little burnout and mental breakdown era and it's almost part of the routine that it become ironically comical. And I don’t even want to imagine what it’s like when you’re studying medicine or law)

So when they all finally graduate from university (except if Candy’s studying medicine, then my girl still has a long way to go) he expected her to be happy about it because now she’ll be able to do her dream job 

At least he thought so but the he looks at her, she doesn't look happy at all 

It’s probably when Candy is a middle of a mental breakdown or an existential crisis (or both at the same time for more FUN) that she ends up telling him that this isn’t the job she wanted to do and it’s actually quite far from being her dream 

When she tells him she wants to be an author, he’s quite baffled because he really didn’t expect this 

I mean he knew Candy like to write and read, but she never really talked about making it her career 

He feels horrible because he wished he knew and it breaks his heart to see her so distressed 

He also angry at her parents because they’re the one that put her in this situation 

Afterwards he’ll try to find a solution at all cost 

Castiel is a very passionate person and it shows the best when it’s about his passion. Also, I think one of Castiel biggest fears is to live a life full of regret 

Therefore it really hurts him to see Candy so close to give up her dreams and he can see that it’s tormenting her

And he loves and cares about her a lot so he won’t let things get worse 

Giving up won’t be an option for Castiel (he’s a lot of things but certainly not a quitter) plus, since Crowstorm’s going pretty well, he has some ressources now

He’ll encourage her to take this year abroad with him to begin with and focus on her writing 

Since that he now knows that she wants to be an author and that he has some contacts, he might look up names in the book industry so he can share what he learned with Candy (and maybe give her some opportunities who knows ?) or he’ll tell her that he’d love to write what she reads if she allows him to (and that means a lot ‘cause as I said, he’s not much of a reader but for her, he can try to become a better one)

In the end, Castiel is very loyal and whatever’s her plans for the future, she can count on Castiel and is unfailing support

𝙻𝚢𝚜𝚊𝚗𝚍𝚎𝚛 :

Firstly, the long distance relationship makes it hard to communicate 

Also, when Candy comes to visit his at the farm or when he goes back in town occasionally, she seems to avoid talking about university 

He always thought it was because she didn’t want to think about stressful things

But one day, as graduation day was getting closer she couldn’t hold it in anymore and she ended up telling him about the situation 

Lysander listened to her diligently but he was very confused the whole time 

I think that if Candy’s a writer, it might have been one of the reason her and Lysander grew so close in the first place

Creative/Artistic interests really make people to connect with each other (and I think it’s beautiful) hence, I doubt that Candy and Lysander didn’t really talk about it together

Even before they started dating, Lysander probably asked her if he could read her works as he was curious and she let him 

And he liked it quite a lot (maybe a bit biased by love but that’s not gonna keep him from seeing talent)

But when she started university to study law/medicine, he thought that maybe it was because she didn’t see writing as something more than a hobby 

He’s can’t believe that her parents set her up like this 

Yes because for him, that’s clearly sabotage. How could they dismiss their daughter’s happiness like that ? 

However, Lysander can think of a few solutions already 

I mean what’s his is also Candy’s 

So he tell her that she’s more than welcome to come live on the farm as long as she wants to (even permanently) if she needs to get away from university 

He wouldn’t be the one to tell her « you should still finish that degree, it’ll open your doors for future jobs » because for him, there’s no point wasting time trying to « secure » a future for a job you have no interest in or no desire to pursue

To him, there’s no such thing as « prestigious » job and it’s nothing more than an superficial idea based on  traditional (and capitalistic) societal standards and that’s what he’ll tell Candy 

Overall, he’d encourage Candy to go after her dreams and with him by her side, he’ll certainly fill the lack of support from her parents because he’s determined to see her happy

𝙰𝚛𝚖𝚒𝚗 :

Armin doesn’t know much about being what it's like to be an author so when Candy tells him that’s the job she'd actually like to do he’d just be like « well do it then ? », not really making the connection between this dream and her actual studies 

Afterwards would have to tell her that she can’t because she’s studying to be a doctor or a lawyer and again he’d go « if you don’t want to do it, just don’t ? »

At this point Candy’s just « bitch be fucking for real »

However by saying that, he’s not trying to be a bitch or anything, I just think Armin has a very simple vision of things since he knows he’ll find support within in family for whatever he set his mind to (it may not included hacking governmental shit and then getting arrested in front of the whole high school, but I mean it’s not like Armin would do that, right ?)

Like he wants to be a game developper ? ‘Okay let’s do it’. He changed his mind and wants to do something else ? It’s still, ‘Okay, let’s do it’

He didn’t know Candy’s parents actually forced her to study law/medicine in order to become a lawyer/doctor and he’s honestly in disbelief 

He doesn’t get what her parents means by « prestigious job » and why they’re so pressed about her wanting to be an author. Like bro, they were certainly not the ones spending 5 years going through the ups and downs (and a lot of downs in these sectors so I’ve heard) of university and they also won’t  be the ones having to work for this « prestigious » work as they says for their whole life ???(WHY ARE THEY EVEN TALKING ABOUT IT FFS)

I feel like Armin would encourage her to do what she wants to do  without giving a shit about what her parents say

He has this philosophy that can basically be resumed as « doing whatever the hell occurs to him in the bloody moment » (it’s a little reference from the Haunting of Bly Manor but it’s accurate because if there’s one thing about this show, it’s that it teaches us that what really matters is to live in the moment and not for others. I am getting out of topic so I’ll just leave it here lol)

Like if she wants to finish her degree still, he’ll be like « okay sure » but know that he knows about your dream, he’ll try to find different way for you to achieve it

He’d make some researches to find ways to become an author and would find some platform for Candy to write on (yesss tech-boy)

He’d try to support her the best he can and would share her works on social medias and all (he’d also try to learn a bit more about the book industry ‘cause he doesn’t know anything about it. But that won’t stop him from basically being Candy’s manager even if she says he doesn’t need to do that much. He’s really invested lol)

He’s really supportive but he also view this as a kind of mission : she has to be an author ‘cause he won’t stand there watching her while the thought of giving up her dream is tormenting her 

𝙽𝚊𝚝𝚑𝚊𝚗𝚒𝚎𝚕 :

Oh dear, he’s completely disarmed when Candy tells him about not wanting to be a lawyer since he really thought that it was her dreams (she was studying this for almost the past 5 years so he assumed that she liked it you know)

He’s a bit relieved though because if his girlfriend wanted to be a lawyer, he’d be worried that his little slid-ups in life (is that an understatement ? I don’t think so. Everyone make mistakes right ?) would discredit or impact her

However when Candy tells him that it’s her parents that wanted her to become a lawyer (or a doctor), he starts to connect the dots

All these times when Candy told him that she felt like she was wasting her time and that uni was hellishly hard (relatable haha) in opposition to how her eyes lit up when she was talking about this idea she just had and that she wanted to write down

Yeah, if he hadn’t been caught up in this whole situation with the drug-deal/gang (whatever beemoov calls this), he would have noticed and perhaps he’d have been able to support her earlier

He feels guilty because he can only imagine how alone she must have felt for these 5 years and also, she kinda save him from such a fate 

I mean, guys, his father, before Nathaniel got emancipated, wanted him to go business school to be a CEO or whatever 

And Nathaniel did not wanted that nor did he wanted his life to be planned by his father 

and damn he succeed in that ‘cause I don’t think Francis (stinky bitch. Sorry I just feel the need to insult this man) really planned Nathaniel becoming a drug dealer so slay Nath (a win is a win y’all. Glad he didn’t actually make a career of it lol)

So, she doesn’t have to explain herself or anything, Nath just gets it 

Yet, he’s a bit confused about why she lets her parents decide her future when she basically did everything she could back in the days to prevent him from getting such a life 

So he’s a bit confused but don’t get me wrong, he’s grateful for Candy to have open his eyes on who he was and that he had the right to choose his own path (which apparently was drug-deal related. Sorry for that) so be sure that he’s more than glad to return the favour 

He’d have long conversations with Candy about it 

I feel like Nathaniel, at some point, might have want to become a detective novel writer (maybe in middle school or in the beginning of high school when he was still allowed to have dreams) so he knows one things or two about being an author since he already made some researches on the topic. Therefore, he’d share them with Candy 

Also, he’d propose her to read her works if she wants some feedback 

If Candy is scared to let everything down to do something completely different, Nathaniel will be here to tell her that at least she’s not alone in this situation and that they can go on this journey together (just to remind that he did a whole post-graduate degree in Literature to become a police officer, this will never not be funny to me)

In the end, no matter what, Nathaniel would encourage Candy to become an author just as she supported him so many times and he’d reassure by telling her that he’ll be her number 1 fan (this man god)

N/A : Okay so for Kentin it’s a bit different because I imagine the situation better in HSL’s settings (idk why but it doesn’t really matter anyway) so in this case Candy is not currently following a degree to be a lawyer or a doctor (and is not one either) but it’s the end of high school and her parents wants her to go to uni in that perspective :

Kentin can relate with Candy ‘cause his dad kinda wants him to join the army like he did 

Kentin’s dad basically wants his son to become another version of him and no, leave this boy alone pls (he’s too good to be like that)

So in this case, Candy and Kentin kinda share the same situation therefore I think they would both feel kinda stuck 

Its give them something to bond about (trauma-bond because of the fact they’re being controlled by the parents whose role should remain at being their kids support and not prosecutor. I feel like everyone in this game is traumatised one way or the other. Pls beemoov give them a break)

They would talk a lot about their dreams : Candy wants to be an author and share with the world her stories, Kentin wants to travel and be surrounded by animals (dogs more specifically. He’s a dog-person and I love that for him), both listening to the other with utter trust and attention as they’ve become each other confidant 

At some point, (I am not sure which one it would be but I would say it was Kentin since he really seemed to gain some maturity, especially after the whole Evan arc), but one of them just start to think « what if we actually go for it ? Like what if we just do it ?»

I mean they’ve been each other’s support for so long now (at least a few months), they know they can rely on each other. Therefore the idea of risking it all to pursue the life they’ve kept talking and dreaming about seem less scary than the though of waking up at 50 and wonder what could have been (my biggest fear really)

So when it comes to confront their parents about it, it would be this « I do it if you do it » vibe (out of topic but Kentin and Candy’s relationship is too sweet, even if I didn’t play it, it certainly has a special place in my heart)

They would end up telling their parents about their projects but it’s nothing like asking for approval. It’s more like their explaining them what they’re going to do and take it or leave it, no matter what we’re doing it

And we're done !

*Also I just want to add that, obviously, I have nothing against people pursuing studies to become a lawyer or a doctor (and I knows how hard this is so if you're doing that you have all my love & support <3) but it has to be a personal choice. It's only problematic when it was pressed upon you by someone else (especially parents)
