Sold Sotheby's, London, 21 Nov 2023 for £381,000 incl B.P.

Three versions of the painting are known. Begun in 1886 and not seen publicly since 1936, Lavery would return to reworking this version over subsequent years, the painting remaining in his possession until his death, thence by descent to its sale here.
