Ages and more
Reddit removed this further my frustration and tiredness of going over there and cementing me just posting DWTS stuff here. Smaller audience? Sadly yeah. But the vibes have always been better!
Well apparently its up. Still I think my focus will be here.
First off, I know this is just for fun, and it doesn't mean anything serious, but I thought others might find it entertaining too!
I went down a rabbit hole and looked up the ages of all the first, second, and third-place winners throughout the history of the show. Yes, it took longer than I'd like to admit—LOL. Then, I compared those ages to the ages of this season's celebrities. For Stephen and Phaedra, I factored in their upcoming birthdays, since the finale is likely in late November or early December.
Most Likely to Get Third Place: Stephen Nedoroscik – He will be 26, and three other celebrities were also 26 when they finished in third place.
Most Likely to Get Second Place: Chandler Kinney – She will be 24, and three other celebrities were 24 when they took second place.
Most Likely to Get First Place: Jenn Tran – She will be 27, and five other celebrities were 27 when they won first place.
Here are some extra tidbits and information I found interesting:
The Oldest Celebrity to Win First Place: Donny Osmond at 51 years old.
The Oldest Celebrity to Get Second Place: Kirstie Alley at 60 years old.
The Oldest Celebrity to Get Third Place: Wayne Brady at 50 years old.
The Youngest Celebrity to Win First Place: Laurie Hernandez at 15 years old.
The Youngest Celebrity to Get Second Place: Sadie Robertson at 16 years old (I didn’t do the exact math, but I’m pretty sure she was younger than Zendaya).
The Youngest Celebrity to Get Third Place: Bristol Palin at 20 years old (Norami was very close to this).
Also, the most common final three combination has been F-M-M, which has happened 8 times or 25% of the time. So, if we were to use these age stats to predict the outcome (because why not?), it could look something like this:
First Place: Jenn Tran
Second Place: Stephen Nedoroscik
Third Place: Joey Graziadei
In both scenarios Jenn and Stephen are in both which I find a bit interesting.
Of course, the chances of this actually happening are slim, but who knows!
EDIT ... I just realized there is a chance Jenn might have her birthday before the finale. I really wish I knew how many weeks this season is! Because if she is 28 at the finale then some adjustments will need to be made. Ugh LOL.

A Laurie Strode Character study.
Chapter 1
2 of 2
TW: firearms, mentions of death, mentions of murder, PTSD, survivor's guilt, weed, drinking, language, etc.
WC: 1 K
A/N: Got this written faster than intended. Laurie and her friends are all 18.

1978
“You gonna die a virgin?” Annie mocked over a contraband bottle of beer. They’d been holed up in the upstairs bedroom, flipping through a Playgirl Linda stole from the corner store. Lore hugged her knees to her chest, unknowing of the massacre to rain upon Haddonfield in the coming days.
“I’m just waiting.” Clutching nervously at her cream soda. “Until the time is right, I guess.”
“The time is never right,” Annie chuckled knowingly, wise beyond the years she’d never see. The sheriff’s daughter took a hearty glug of cheap alcohol, eyes flitting to cracked window to check for headlights. Her father had an upstanding reputation and wouldn’t hesitate to make an example of his own child’s taste for rebellion.
“Totally,” Linda added airily, gum snapping as she flipped through the dirty magazine. Laurie averted her eyes, earning the cheerleader’s unabashed giggle at the gesture. “Have you ever even seen a penis?”
“Even if she did, she wouldn’t know what to do with it.” Annie added in that mincing voice, ripping her supposed friend limb by metaphorical limb. Then they were both cackling like the Weird Sisters in Macbeth, a play they’d been reading in English class.
“I saw that picture of Burt Reynolds,” she added meekly, suddenly wishing her nose was buried in a book. Or even an innocent copy of Tiger Beat fawning over Donny Osmond or Shaun Cassidy. Linda snorted.
“Doesn’t count if you can’t see anything.” Was all she added before the other two entered their own side bar conversation. The ‘Straight A’ student was happy to be excluded, practically begging to be left alone to her thoughts.
They had all turned eighteen this year. And while Laurie happily matured into an empathetic and intelligent young woman, the other two seemed to regress to giggly girls who only cared about cute boys and where to score weed.
She didn’t even like the stuff; it made her throat itch every time she took a puff. In fact, Laurie only ever smoked to fit it. Taking a little sip of her sweet soda, she wished to be home listening to her records or helping her mother with the dishes.
Laurie Strode didn’t mind being well-behaved.
Years later, she’d claim it helped her survive.
2018
Good god, did she despise true crime podcasters. Reporters were one thing, Diane Sawyer’s schlocky interview was another. But there was something especially irritating and disgusting about armchair detectives.
There was never a grave they weren’t clamoring to desecrate, a scab that wasn’t destined to be picked again and again until there was nothing but a raw nerve. But mostly it was the way they all treated her like a sideshow act at a carnival.
Laurie Strode was a curiosity to most folks, a heroine in fable instead of the mortal woman she strived to be. No one cared that she’d dreamt of being a writer that lived in a big city with countless stories to tell. Instead, she’d become stuck in Haddonfield, like a mouse in a glue trap. There were still stories to be told, though she didn’t really want to share them.
The masses didn’t give a damn. They demanded her nightmare be relived time and time again, for popularity and clout. An old woman with PTSD didn’t deserve the privacy she craved apparently. Decades earlier she’d considered writing a tell all book to appease those who craved the macabre.
Then Karen was born. All she wanted was to protect her child.
That didn’t matter much as two strangers set up sound equipment in a sparse living room, making comments about the wood paneled walls and the flannel sofa. All them hailed from the UK based on telling accents.
A new development. She’d never attracted any interviews from half a world away. It was a feat, one that Laurie despised.
“Testing…One, two, testing.” The woman, Dana, sat on the edge of a worn cushion. A rectangular contraption sat wedged between her pale fingers. A microphone, Laurie figured. Technology had changed so much, becoming all powerful yet continually shrinking. There were memories of bulky cameras propped precariously on tripods, a boom mic falling into frame when she was interviewed at her parents’ house. The one-year anniversary. It aired on network television after Three’s Company.
Laurie was lost in her thoughts, wondering if the gate had been locked after the visitors had been let in, if she’d wrapped a new piece of barbed wire atop the chain link fence in the backyard, if the bars across the basement hatch would deploy if needed.
There were so many ‘if’s’ hurtling through her brain until the man, Aaron, spoke. His voice was deep and rich, somewhat calming in the eye of the storm they were unleashing.
“We’re talking to Laurie Strode today, sole survivor of the Babysitter Murder’s that took place in Illinois.” He paused for a moment, leaning forward onto the ladder-back chair which he sat. Dana held the mic closer to Laurie, waiting for an introduction that wouldn’t come. He continued diligently.
‘This year marks the fortieth anniversary of the infamous slaying. Do you have anything to say before we ask a few questions?”
“I have a question,” she cleared her throat, swallowing down a mouthful of bile before she begins. Laurie doesn’t look at Aaron, but past him, focused on the dusty window, “Do you believe in the boogeyman?”
1978
Dr. Loomis has to physically restrain the thrashing young woman as Michael burns in the hospital corridor. There isn’t time to dawdle, lest they become ash themselves.
But Laurie can’t leave. Not yet.
She needs to see the devil be reduced to nothing, to know he can’t haunt her. But he doesn’t crumple as the flames lap at him, masked face still blank at the rubber refuses to melt. The figure doesn’t flinch, inhuman in how lifelessly he stands in the face of death.
Her jaw drops for a moment, wondering if he’s even a man. Maybe he’s a ghost, a shell of something that was, something will continue to reappear until she takes her final breath. Ceasing to move further, the doctor yanked her away and through the metal doors.
Lights flash as paramedics arrive, followed by the local news truck.
In one night, her friends had been brutally butchered, a nurse skewered on a scalpel, a doctor pelted with hypodermic needles.
But what unfolds in front of her is the real nightmare. One she’ll never wake up from.

FireAlpaca
During recent years I’ve been commissioned to create character art, personalized advertising, customized stationary products, and short animations.
In the future, I would like to work as an independent artist and animator, pursuing my own passions and projects by building a social media presence and following. However, I would also enjoy working as an animator at studios such as Valve, Pixar, or Activision. My number one goal is to create art that is true to myself, and brings me and other people happiness. ✨

38 and 44 for Mulder and Scully
This one got away from me a little so, behind the cut.
38. Blood & 44. puppy love
Scully had never been in her mother’s attic before.  She was in med school when they moved to the Baltimore house, engrossed in exams, so Bill and Charlie had been the ones to help move their parents in.  There was never any reason to go up there.  Now, since the house needed to be prepared to sell, it had to be cleaned and cleared.  Mulder offered his help and she’d gratefully accepted, still not quite able to be in the house alone.
They’d gone room by room, sorting knick knacks, furniture, and clothes into piles for donating, keeping, or throwing away.  The bedroom had been the hardest for her.  It just felt wrong going through her mother’s things..
The last room left was the attic.  Mulder pulled down the collapsible stairs from the ceiling and they headed up into the dust and stale air.  It was cold up there and Scully was glad she’d worn an old sweatshirt to protect against the dirt and chill.
“It’s actually pretty tidy,” Mulder remarked, looking at all the boxes stacked and clearly labeled.
Scully sneezed.
“Except for the dust,” he added.  “How do you want to do this?”
”I don’t know if I can last up here.  I think we need to get the boxes out first and then we can open them up downstairs.”
“You go down and I’ll lower them to you.”
A little over an hour later, all the boxes were out of the attic, stacked just as neatly in the hall and the guest room off the hall, organized and grouped by label.  Scully used a utility knife to cut through the tape on a box labeled CHRISTMAS and passed the knife to Mulder.  He used it to cut open a box labeled DANA.
“Some of this is falling apart,” she said, pulling out a white tablecloth that was stained with age.  “Except for our first Christmas ornaments, this should probably all just be tossed.”
“Up to you,” he said, poking through the DANA box.
“There was an angel tree topper though.  I think my grandparents gave it to Mom and Dad on their first Christmas together.”
“Oh, look what I found.”  Mulder pulled out a high school yearbook from the box with a grin and flipped it open to the front cover.  “‘To the most bitchin’ babe to walk the halls of SDH.  Call me for some summer luv.  Marcus.”
“It does not say that.”
Mulder turned the cover for Scully to look at and she left her box to stand next to him as he flipped through the pages.  He found her senior portrait and laughed as she groaned and tried to cover it up.  He pushed her hand away and read her bio.
“Dana K. Scully.  Math club.  Science Club.  Forensics.”
“Forensics was speech and debate.”
“I know.  Poetry club.  Poetry, Scully?  Really?”
“It was a phase.”
Mulder lifted the yearbook up over his head and looked down into the box.  “With any luck, some of those masterpieces will be in this box.”
“God, I hope not.”
“Latin club,” he continued.  “ASB Secretary.  ‘There are no such things as applied sciences, only applications of science - Louis Pasteur’”  He chuckled and closed the book.  “Wos, Scully, you really were a huge nerd.”
She shoved his shoulder and went back to the Christmas box.  He knew he should have just left DANA alone and opened one of the other boxes labeled BOOKS or SCULLY CHINA, but he was more interested in exploring Scully’s childhood.  He laughed as he unrolled a small poster of Donny Osmond.
“And they call it, puppy lo-o-o-ove,” he sang to her, holding the poster of Donny over his face.
“Everyone loved The Osmonds,” she argued.  “You can’t tell me you didn’t have a thing for Marie.”
“Actually, I was partial to Laurie Partridge.”
“People used to tell Charlie he looked like Danny Partridge so Bill convinced him he was the youngest Partridge that had been given up for adoption because he couldn’t sing.”
“That’s mean.”  Mulder chuckled anyway.
Scully rifled through yellowing boxes of cracked ornaments and smiled as she listened to Mulder hum under his breath.
“I woke up in love this mornin’,” he whisper-sang.  “I woke up in love this mornin’.  Went to bed with you on my mind.  Shit.”
Scully looked over as Mulder shoved the side of his thumb in his mouth.
“Cardboard cut,” he mumbled around his thumb.
“Let me see.”  She moved to his side and touched his wrist as he lowered his wet thumb from his mouth, glistening with saliva and blood.  “There are Band-Aids in my bag.”
Mulder nodded and put his thumb back in his mouth as he wandered out.
“Wash it first!” she called after him.
Half-heartedly, she finished rummaging through the first Christmas box and then put it aside to be thrown out.  She looked around at what remained.  She’d have Mulder take the box with her name on it and Melissa’s out to the car to take home.  He could finish getting a kick out of her things later - she was pretty sure there was a diary in there somewhere and a notebook of high school poetry.  They just didn’t have time for it right now.  They could send Bill and Charlie’s boxes to them without opening.
It made her sad to think of a life reduced to a few pieces of furniture to pass down and boxes of junk no one wanted or needed.  Her eyes began to water and she wiped them with the sleeve of her sweatshirt.  She felt Mulder’s hand on her back and she took a deep breath and dropped her arms.  He rubbed her back in slow circles.
“We can finish this later,” he said.
“The realtor will be here tomorrow.  It has to be today.”
“Okay.”  He wrapped his arms around her and she turned to lay her head against his chest.
“I’m okay,” she said.
He rested his chin on her head.  “Okay.”
She pulled back and stretched up to kiss his neck.
“Want me to sing some more hits of the 70’s for you?” he asked.
“I’d rather you go through those boxes of books and see if there’s anything worth keeping.”
“I can do that.”
“Thank you.”
He kissed her temple and let her go.  She caught his hand and pulled her back to him.  “Hey,” she said, quietly.  “I’m not gonna sing, but I woke up in love this morning too.”
He grinned and wrapped his arms around her again.
The End

Halifax court muses about pets' rights, needs in custody battle over dog
HALIFAX -- A Halifax adjudicator is lamenting that the law treats pets as chattels, musing aloud about a more perfect world in which they could be recognized as living, feeling creatures with rights and needs.
Eric Slone, an adjudicator with Nova Scotia's small claims court, wrote wistfully about the nature of humans' relationship with their pets in a ruling that awarded custody of a nine-year-old, mixed-breed dog named Lily.
Slone noted he has decided other such cases and was being forced to rule again on who gets custody of a family pet because there is nowhere else for people to go with such disputes.
"In a more perfect world there would be special laws recognizing pets as living, feeling creatures with rights to be looked after by those who best meet their needs or interests, and there would be specialized accessible courts to determine the 'best interest of the dog,' as there are for children in the family courts," he said in a written ruling released this week.
"In this less perfect world, there is the small claims court operating on principles of property law, treating pets as 'chattels' not very different -- legally speaking -- from the family car."
Slone heard the case of a former Halifax-area couple, Sally Kemp and Laurie Osmond, who he said never discussed the ownership of Lily, who is part duck toller, until their relationship disintegrated.
Kemp, a volunteer SPCA dog walker, bought Lily in 2009, when she and Osmond were in a relationship but not living together. They later adopted a second dog, Cooper, while living together and he and Lily became "very bonded," Slone said.
Osmond took Cooper with him when he and Kemp broke up in 2012, and the two traded Lily back and forth for years. But they argued about how to handle some health issues, and increasingly about custody.
In March 2017, it all came to a head when Osmond went to pick Lily up and ended up in a "physical altercation" with Kemp's new boyfriend. Police were called.
Osmond left, but returned later, called Lily to his car and drove off. He refused to return her, so Kemp took him to small claims court.
In his ruling, Slone said Kemp may have had the strongest ownership claim at first, but that changed over time. He noted that Lily twice ran to Osmond on that emotionally charged day in March 2017.
"It is telling and ironic that the immediate and perhaps ultimate decision was made by Lily herself," Slone said.
Osmond paid thousands of dollars in vet bills, Slone said, and became the predominate human in Lily's life. Osmond considered himself "the 'alpha' in Lily's pack," the adjudicator noted.
"Determining ownership of family pets is not easy for the court, nor necessarily fair to the disputants. Often, as is the case here, neither of the people in this dog's life was really concerned about legal ownership until things went wrong. When families break apart, the family dog will usually be awarded to the person with the best case for legal ownership," Slone wrote.
"While the previous arrangement of having the dog split its time between the two households could have continued, had the parties co-operated, when 'push comes to shove' the ownership falls on one side or the other, and in this case it is (Osmond) who I find to be the legal owner of Lily."

15 Ideas Home Office Ideas That Will Make You Want to Work From Home
If you’d rather work at the office than work at home, your home office or workspace may be in need of a makeover. Creating a workspace that is just right is tricky, but it’s so important. A desk and a chair are only the minimum requirements. A well-designed home office can be the difference between you working efficiently and you just barely making it work. Check out these tips for creating an office space that makes you want to work.
Let There Be Light
Project by West Chester Design Build
Ambient and task lighting are essential to an effective workspace. When you’re working a screen, ambient lighting softens the intensity of a computer monitor. Task lighting offers illumination exactly where you need it. In this work retreat, multiple sources of light ensconced within the built-ins, as well as natural light from the windows and French doors, illuminate this office space.
Be Different
Project by Studio McGee
If the rest of your house is awash in calm neutrals, maybe you can add some drama to your office. This striking space takes some cues from trendy, farmhouse style. Shiplapped walls and Shaker cabinets get an industrial makeover with charcoal paint. Sand-colored wood floors and strategically placed white artwork bounce light around this room and keep it from being gloomy.
Enjoy the View
Project by James McNeal Architecture and Design
This corner office may not have a skyline view, but a serene woodland is not too shabby, either. If your home’s layout permits, orient your desk to face a window. A nice view can boost your mood and keep you from feeling overwhelmed by work.
Made for Multitasking
Project by Blackbox Design Studios
This office nook could have been a pantry or kitchen cabinets in a previous life. Situated between the living area and the kitchen, this office is made for multitasking. Whether you’re paying bills or planning meetings, you can keep an eye on dinner or the kids, too. Filing cabinets provide essential storage, and the undermount task lighting keeps this den lit after sunset. Clean lines emphasize an uncluttered feel, while the charcoal cabinets and shelves, and sandy backsplash contrast the cool white walls that surround this small office.
Enliven the Area with Color
Project by Pittsburgh Paints
Though just a nook, this office offers the perfect place for a pop of color. While the deep green combines with black and white to lend an art deco feel to this workspace, the simple silhouettes of the desk and cabinetry are distinctly modern. The punch of pink provides a playful accent. It’s an invigorating workspace.
Add Texture
Project by Laurie Demetrio Interiors
The monochromatic office sets the tone for a calm work environment. The textured accessories—the shaggy pouf ottoman, the banana bark wallpaper, and the bubble cluster chandelier—keep the space interesting.
Maximize Storage and Privacy
Project by Orren Pickell Building Group
At just 6 feet by 6 feet, this small office seems sizable. Homeowners made the most of the compact office with built-ins for ample storage and pocket doors for privacy. They can get a lot of work done in a small amount of space.
Act Natural
Project by Osborne Construction
Even if you’re not on your own acreage, you can still bring the outdoors in. This loft office in Philadelphia combines modern lines with some natural colors and accents for an enviable office space. Slab-front cabinet doors show off the wood grain, and the medium wood stain warms up the room. A couple of potted plants lend some organic shape and color to this home office.
Think Outside the Box
Project by John Kraemer & Sons
When you’re working from home, you’re no longer in a cubicle, so your office doesn’t need to look like one. There’s a lot to look at in this modestly sized office. With a mix of French country blue and white, a few colorful accents—most notably the teal chandelier—this home office mixes serenity with a dose of whimsy. The medium-toned wood floor adds warmth to the otherwise cool colors, and the tiled ceiling adds unexpected texture.
Share a Table for Two
Project by Holmes Hole Builders
You may not be the only one who needs to work from home. In those cases, make your office work for two. Here, a T-shaped desks expands across the long wall, while the peninsula in the middle provides more room to spread out.
Add Architectural Detail
Project by Garrison Hullinger Interior Design Inc.
From the coiffured ceiling to the paneled walls and built-ins, this office is anchored by beautiful millwork. Without these architectural details, this sizable office might feel cavernous instead of comfortable.
Keep It Simple
Project by Angela Ballard
This office defines minimalist. Adorned with a few choice accessories, slab shelves flank the window, and a floating filing cabinet creates unobtrusive storage. The open desk also allows for a full view of the room, creating an airy vibe.
Make It Multifunctional
Project by Justine Sterling
If you don’t have a designated home office, you may have to make your room multitask. A compact desk and slim bookcases provide storage and workspace in this office, while the sofa bed lends friends and family a free place to stay.
Light and Bright
Project by J Wilson Fuqua & Associates Architects
Tucked between two rooms, this small office provides the perfect place to make some phone calls and check emails. The creamy white cabinets keep this cozy nook light and bright, while art and accessories infuse a touch of personality. What could have simply been a pass-through from room to room now functions as a room of its own.
Make It Yours
Project by Osmond Designs

Popular megachurch pastor and mental health advocate Jarrid Wilson has died by suicide.
His wife Juli Wilson broke the news to her followers by sharing a video of her “sweet husband” playing with their son.
Jarrid — a pastor at the Harvest Christian Fellowship Church in California — was 30.
Juli explained that the video — taken on Monday — is the last memory she has of Jarrid as he died that same night.
“Can’t sleep, so I’m watching this video over and over again,” Juli wrote on Tuesday. “I took this Monday evening around 7:30 p.m. at our son’s baseball practice. By 11:45 that night, my sweet husband was in the presence of Jesus.”
“I love you, Jarrid. I miss you beyond what my heart can stand. Thank you for loving our boys and I with the greatest passion and selflessness I’ve ever seen or felt in my entire life,” Juli continued.
“I’d do anything for a hug from you right now. I keep hearing on repeat what you told me all day every single day, ‘Gosh I frieking (how he always spelled it) love you,'” Juli wrote.
“Longing to be with you, longing to make you proud. The boys and I miss you so much. I frieking love you too. So much more than you could ever know. Wish I could tell you that right now. We all do,” she concluded.

Can’t sleep, so I’m watching this video over and over again . I took this on Monday evening around 7:30 pm at our son’s baseball practice. By 11:45 that night, my sweet husband was in the presence of Jesus. I love you, jarrid. I miss you beyond what my heart can stand. Thank you for loving our boys and I with the greatest passion and selflessness I’ve ever seen or felt in my entire life . I’d do anything for a hug from you right now. I keep hearing on repeat what you told me all day every single day, “gosh I frieking (how he always spelled it) love you.” Longing to be with you, longing to make you proud. In a separate post, Juli shared a slideshow of photos of Jarrid smiling widely as he fished, hiked and spent time with his children.
While Juli remains devastated over her husband’s death, she wrote that Jarrid is no longer in “pain.”
“No more struggle. You are made complete and you are finally free. Suicide and depression fed you the worst lies, but you knew the truth of Jesus and I know you’re by his side right this very second.”
Juli went on to share that “suicide doesn’t get the last word.”

“I won’t let it. You always said, ‘Hope gets the last word. Jesus gets the last word.’ Your life’s work has led thousands to the feet of Jesus and your boldness to tell others about your struggle with anxiety and depression has helped so many other people feel like they weren’t alone.”
“YOU WERE an ANTHEM OF HOPE to everyone, baby, and I’ll do my best to continue your legacy of love until my last breath.”

My loving, giving, kind-hearted, encouraging, handsome, hilarious, give the shirt of his back husband went to be with Jesus late last night . No more pain, my jerry, no more struggle. You are made complete and you are finally free. Suicide and depression fed you the worst lies, but you knew the truth of Jesus and I know you’re by his side right this very second . I love you forever, Thomas jarrid Wilson, but I have to say that you being gone has completely ripped my heart out of my chest. You loved me and our boys relentlessly and I am forever grateful that i had YOU as a husband and a father to our boys . You are my forever and I will continue to let other people know of the hope in Jesus you found and spoke so boldly about . Suicide doesn’t get the last word. I won’t let it. You always said “Hope Gets the last word. Jesus gets the last word”. Your life’s work has lead thousands to the feet of Jesus and your boldness to tell other about your struggle with anxiety and depression has helped so many other people feel like they weren’t alone. YOU WERE an ANTHEM OF HOPE to everyone, baby, and I’ll do my best to continue your legacy of love until my last breath . I need you, jare, but you needed Jesus to hold you and I have to be okay with that. You are everything to me. Since the day we met. J & J. Love you more . These are photos of him in his happy place – fishing the day away . I’ll teach our boys all your tricks, babe. Promise. You are my #anthemofhope

In his last Twitter post, shared hours before his death, the father of two wrote, “Loving Jesus doesn’t always cure suicidal thoughts. Loving Jesus doesn’t always cure depression. Loving Jesus doesn’t always cure PTSD. Loving Jesus doesn’t always cure anxiety. But that doesn’t mean Jesus doesn’t offer us companionship and comfort.”
“He ALWAYS does that,” Jarrid added.

Prior to his death, Jarrid made it his mission to help those struggling with depression and mental illness.
In 2016, Jarrid founded Anthem of Hope, a Christian organization dedicated to “amplifying hope for those battling brokenness, depression, anxiety, self-harm, addiction and suicide.”
Harvest Christian Fellowship has since released a statement mourning Jarrid’s death on their website.
“It is with the deepest sadness and shock that I have to report that Jarrid Wilson went to be with the Lord last night,” Senior Pastor Greg Laurie wrote. “At a time like this, there are just no words.”
“The Bible says, ‘There is a time to mourn.’ This is certainly that time.”
“Jarrid is survived by his wife Juli, his two sons, Finch and Denham, his mother, father, and siblings. Jarrid loved the Lord and had a servant’s heart. He was vibrant, positive, and was always serving and helping others.”
“Jarrid also repeatedly dealt with depression and was very open about his ongoing struggles. He wanted to especially help those who were dealing with suicidal thoughts,” Laurie wrote.
“Tragically, Jarrid took his own life.”
“Sometimes people may think that as pastors or spiritual leaders we are somehow above the pain and struggles of everyday people. We are the ones who are supposed to have all the answers. But we do not.”
“At times like this, we must remember that as Christians, we do not live on explanations but on promises. We fall back on what we do know, not on what we don’t know. We do know that Jarrid put his faith in Jesus Christ and we also know that he is in Heaven now,” Laurie concluded.
A GoFundMe has been created in hopes of raising funds for his family. The page has raised over $49,000.
