It's Friday, time for a requested ship!

I forgor to post last friday... and kinda all week. Ah but whatever, we back with another request. Honestly these two are some of my favorite characters in the series. I can imagine them always out doing something, they have very adventurous personalities. Gloves is someone to hang around people who are cool. And Fierce is pretty cool ngl. And Fierce is down to be with anyone who likes to have fun. I like how both of them are kinda headstrong. Like they will either rise together or fall together. Neither of them holds each other back all that often, which may cause them to get into trouble often, but that's what makes it fun. I also like sorta the dynamic of Gloves being a perfectionist when it comes to his appearance and Fierce probably doesn't give a damn. Gloves will point this out every once in a while, Fierce doesn't mind though. But then whenever Glove's appearance gets messed up, Fierce tries to teach him to just laugh it off. Chaos happens ya know, it's perfectly fine to not look your best every day.

Sorry this is a bit late, I had some events to attend the past few days..! And thanks!! It makes me happy to hear that you like my rambling :)

As for my thoughts on the other characters, I love most of them actually!! I love love love Sakura!!! I especially love how well her character is structured: through design, through her backstory, through daily life and relations and even how well her name suits her lmao. I really like how she has a background where she was really sick as a child (till we meet her), and how her being a miko, nurse and counsellor (she has three fucking jobs and I love it) has her help others since she knows how it's like to have problems (physically or psychologically). Sakura counselling might be my favorite bit though, just seeing how she helps guide mostly the students is really nice and I wish it was appreciated more. And don't get me started on how she is the perfect straight man to the craziness of the others. She was part of the craziness at first (from her intro to her earliest nurse days, Ataru straight manned instead), but it seemed like RT thought Sakura straight manning was much better while Ataru was cemented as the funny man in their dynamic and it suits them so well. The sane Sakura having to deal with everyone's BS (esp Ataru's) is my favourite thing lol. I also really like her relationship with Tsubame, him being the dumb to her smarts.(The remake plays down Tsubame's idiocy btw and it disappoints me so so much) They're that one couple we all ship without knowing it lmao. The chapters which focus on them are really nice, esp that one with the ghost girl who interfered with them and Sakura got super jealous lmao, it we interesting side to see from her and it was really fun :)

Oh shit, I rambled so much about Sakura, I forgor this ask wasn't just about her, I'm so sorry lmao, she is in my top three UY gals for a reason XD

I think up next in UY blorboism to me (who aren't main characters) would be Asuka. Idk, I just love her, she is so cute and so silly. I think what put her in the blorbo category specifically were these panels: one where Asuka made her own armor from a military tank or something idk and she looked so cute while wearing it!!!! And the second is from the arc where Asuka goes to school and she wears a pair of broken glasses in the final panel of the arc which looks super funny and silly XD

Asides from that, I love her voices, both of them!! They sound so soft and sweet!! And her shtick is very entertaining and chaotic, I love all her chapters!!

I think up next in terms underrated characters I love would be Benten and Oyuki. They both have personalities which bounce off well on other characters and especially each other. They're like my #1 Yuri ship in the series, but even in a platonic sense, they're dynamic is really good!! I need to draw them more, lol.

That's it for characters who I feel are widely underrated.. this post would be even longer if I talk about everyone in detail so I'll just speedrun my thoughts on the ones you mentioned plus a few others...

Ran and Ryu are two characters who I feel are really popular which is why I didn't mention them above. Ran's bipolar nature is so good and funny while her growing understanding and reconciling with Lum slowly is really sweet. Ryu is one of those characters who I wish was treated better because I feel like she deserves everything she wanted but her stupid father comes in the way. Ryunosuke's character is one of those things I wished was done better. Give her all the sailor suits, bras, swimsuits, skirts, etc. she wants!!

Cherry is really funny, like in a way he's basically Ryunosuke's dad but done so much better. The amount of moments where I've wheezed laughing cause of him is way too many too count. I like Kotatsu neko, he's cute and it's funny how he's one of the strongest characters!! Ryoko is another one I like because of how insane she is lmao and Inaba is so so sweet!! Meanwhile, Rei is hilarious and his cow form is so silly XD

I also really like Rupa and Carla too, Idk, the way they're supposed to mirror AtaLum and their crazy dynamic captivates me.

And I guess I'll stop here! There are others, but this is already super long so I'll end it here!!

okay so I was tagged by @lailuhhh and @rosieblogstuff and I think one other person (i am so sorry i forgor) many days ago and i am finally doing the first sentence of ten works thing. I guess the general consensus is no one knows whether or not this is for WIPs or posted things so like many others I'll just do a combo of both :D

From a wip that is uhhhh 22k and counting long, titled in my google docs as simply "fuck it desi lore," starting off strong with a sentence that I don't think is actually grammatically correct but you know what sometimes the vibes matter more than grammar and you can quote me on that: Later, Desi will feel guilty for it.

From chapter one of Remittent Distress, we have a line that sounds like it's going to be macriley WHICH IT IS NOT- (PS she's just out on a little mini mission she's not dead or anything) During the three days that Riley has been gone, Mac's been coping poorly.

Another chapter one first sentence, we have the first line of what's shaping up to be my next book! Cue the school intercom noise... "Good morning Ravens, happy Tuesday, and happy first day of school!"

Next we have chapter one (not the prologue) of False Dawn, which is a WIP that keeps me up at night and makes me feel far too many emotions at once: Bozer has a strange affinity for sending physical letters.

We have a bit of a secret fic that's up next- set in Tender Mercies universe, except this is set approximately 10 years in the future from Aground, the most recent fic in the series. Mac makes it a single step into the visitation cell before freezing on the spot.

Next up we have the first line of one of my favorite fics of mine, where we get some Sam Cage! (sam my beloved). Get ready for the first sentence of Episteme! Samantha Cage, despite her evergrowing want to be out of the life she threw herself into, isn’t exactly sure how to stay out of it.

Okay so this is the first line at the moment, but might not be if/when I finally get around to writing the vast majority of this fic. After drafting out an entire fic on a plane ride about a year ago, I only actually fully wrote out a few paragraphs. Here's the beginning of it as of right now: “Arriving in forty-five minutes,” comes the eventual answer through Mac’s earpiece. 

Now we have the first line from Past + Fire + Present, purely because I think it's a fabulous addition to the whole point of this post (and also this does happen to be a fic that i am quite happy about how it came out). The first sentence is a little bit lack-luster though... Hands.

Changing things up a bit, this next sentence is from my 95% finished The Martian fic that has been 95% finished for over a year at this point. I really just need to write two more paragraphs and post it at this point, but here's the start! Sneaking out of Beck's quarters as soon as he stepped out to talk to the rest of the crew was probably not the brightest of plans, but I can’t take it back now.

And to end things off, we're going to hop back to Remittent Distress, but this time in the form of the first sentence for chapter three! (Currently working on it, fear not) It’s to be expected.

last tuesday in my apartment! going away for ~6 weeks! trying to be normal about it! posting this pretty early in the day compared to normal because i woke up insanely early from my roommate's cat yelling ... then i got bad period cramps and languished in bed with a heating pad for way too long ... did not end up going to my office today, oops ...

listening: like many others i have gotten sucked into the kendrick/drake Beef. i do sporadically listen to hip hop and rap in general but somehow had never gotten around to kendrick. better late than never, i suppose! this is not news but he's really good!! i listened to 'good kid, m.A.A.d city' for the first time and it's just really really good. i cannot recommend a Single Favorite Song the way i sometimes do with albums i like just because this is one of the ones that i let wash over me as an entire cohesive unit. do recommend if you have somehow lived under a rock like me.

reading: mostly fallow. some academic paper stuff. biting my nails about prelim exam things.

watching: dunmeshi and asobi.

playing: ran an insane dnd session saturday for the online weekly group that i got roped into earlier this year ... i'm glad i'm running it, i'm having a lot of fun with it, but my god. we decided to do a 'slightly' longer session than normal because we're not gonna get to play for about a month due to scheduling/travel of various people. it was Six Hours Long. AND THEY COULD HAVE KEPT GOING. killing myself For Real. but actually i do have fun i just. woof. i am excited to have a bit of a break from it. the only tabletop thing i will be doing with that group until like...june 8??? maybe even the week after? is i set up a spindlewheel spreadsheet for me and one of the players! he had to go awol for a few weeks and we're doing a little spindlewheel game as a way to plot out what his character was up to in that period, very fun, will be low-pressure and asynchronous.

and i went to life drawing again for the first time this year! i will not be back at that specific studio til july lol rip but i plan on going to a local place at least once when i'm at home :) 3 min poses, last sketchy one is a 5-minute, and then the hour long!

finally, the bookbinding stuff i did last week and forgor to post! the little one is scraps to test coptic binding, the bigger one behind it is going to be a travel journal for when i'm in the UK for two weeks :)

eating: really really fallow. a lot of eating out and scrounging frozens because i'm leaving town for a while. hoping to cook for my family while i'm at home. i did eat basically an entire jar of grilled olives from trader joes.

misc: i cannot believe how slow this semester went for most of it and then how fast it's been for the end. good god. i leave my apartment in an hour to go get my brother from the airport, we hang for a few days, and then off i go on saturday! fucked up for real! i'm very excited to see my boyfriend and then go abroad though (!!!), less looking forward to feeling like i'm trapped at home again, but maybe this time will be fine (doubt but hopeful). god i need to think about packing, huh. fuckin hell.

HE'S FINALLY HERE!!! THE THIRD GUARD!!! AND ALSO RIKU'S BIG BROTHER!! LET'S GO!!!

he gets not one but two drawings bc he's a very special little boy (and also bc i feel bad for him since he got introduced late for obvious story purposes but like.. i really need to make more content for him..)

(also fun fact: the first drawing actually was done in july and the second one just a few days ago.. i can actually see some differences in my art style hehe..)

another note is that when i started to work on hinode's character, my first thought was that i kinda wanted to create another physically disabled guard character (since i think eiji can count as the first one because kei's treatment of him had not the best impact on his body), it just sounded like a neat concept! but i also didn't want to make him.. how do i explain.. too sympathetic, maybe? too squishy? what really annoys me as someone who is physically disabled is that characters like that are often used to make people feel bad for them and don't really have any personality OR they turn out to be the bad guys who only pretended to be disabled for pity points. so instead i've tried to make hinode's problems realistic and a lot of it comes from my own experiences, but i still wanted to make him morally gray and kinda.. you know.. kinda suspicious. (you're more than allowed to joke about punching him or putting him in a blender and all that)

Personality: Hinode isn't as outgoing as his brother, but he still enjoys talking to others, learning more about them and just spending time with other people. However, he's used to being alone, so he won't complain if it's not possible for him to talk to anyone at the moment. It actually might be better for him, since he gets tired quite easily because of his poor health and can't be active for too long. He feels sleepy most of the time, so please don't judge him for suddenly dozing off in the middle of the conversation, even if it's very important. He's not as passionate about justice as the other guards and mostly just wants to do his own thing, not caring about morals too much, but still having enough common sense to punish those who deserve it (in his opinion). He dislikes the physical kind of punishments because he believes that they're too "basic", since pain can easily scare anyone and there's nothing special about it. It's also possible that he doesn't like them because of his own experience with chronic pain, but to be honest, Hinode is lying when he says that he doesn't like to see people in pain. Yes, he believes that pain is the worst thing that could happen to anyone, even worse than death. But also, as someone who has no choice but to spend most of his days in pain.. Maybe he does want to see the prisoners feel the same way as he does. Maybe just a little bit. He still prefers the psychological punishments, finding them more "effective" and "suitable".. mostly because he's too weak to punish anyone physically.

His Milgram cover: Him and T1 Naomi are twinning and he'd cover Weakness! The lyrics remind me a lot of him and I think with an instrumental like that it'd be appropriate for Riku's brother to cover it.

The lyrics remind me a lot of him in general, him trying to keep up with everyone even though his condition doesn't allow him and him feeling like a burden to others, especially his family, but also being jealous of Riku for being so popular, talented and living his best life (at least it seems so on the outside) ("I can still keep going! Jealousy, what a trifling thing", "Don't you sometimes feel a little dizzy? I'm sighing because I'm tired of my heart pounding", "People know their true forms after being broken and crushed") and also the song describes his dysfunctional relationship with Riku really well as two brothers who are both jealous of each other and who both want something the other has (Riku has friends, popularity, the time and energy to make music, meanwhile Hinode has the family's attention, others helping him and people not judging him for spending the whole day in bed) but who also still love each other and genuinely wish their life could go differently ("I'll embrace you, we won't be parted", "Don't be prickly with me, each time we touch, I throb. If I prick you, you might hate me, well, there's no way that will happen!.. At least, I think", "I'm an attention seeker! I want to be spoiled! I want to melt even more for you!") His Non-DECO*27 cover: Waltz by Nashimoto-P. I imagine Hinode having this very soft and quiet voice that almost sounds like a whisper and I feel like it would fit the way Miku is tuned very well! Also the lyrics sound so much like him trying to cope with his condition, his relationship with Riku, other problems and slowly going insane in the process. ("Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, I ask what day is it today, regrettably thinking today will be a good time", "I don't know what's fun, but as I run out of things to do, I will accompany you", "My EKG is a straight line, I wonder how many decades ago") Some lyrics, especially the chorus remind me of the way he acts as a guard too. ("Stop trying to give up, the world is connected. Dance, smile, while you're being controlled. In the beginning, in the end, the details are non-existent. Don't resist, accept it, everything is connected") Also, Riku's T3 song is supposed to be by Nashimoto-P too, so :} They're matching!

Trivia:

His eyes may not look like it because of the lighting on the first picture, but his eye color is supposed to be gray, meanwhile Riku's eye color is more of a mix of light green and gray.

Hinode's natural hair color is light brown, but a few days before Riku committed his crime, Riku suggested that he dyes Hinode's hair, hoping to make him feel at least a little better. They went with the brightest colors Riku had just for fun and it really did make Hinode smile and he was happy to spend time with his brother like that. In season 2, Riku dyed his hair the same way and noticed the colors only when it was too late, so it's possible that he missed his brother and did that subconsciously. It should be noted, however, that Riku's T2 hair is light green on the left and red on the right, meanwhile Hinode's hair is light green on the right and his hair is more pink rather than red on the left. Hinode also has a double ahoge just like his little brother and same goes for their little sisters. It's something they all share :)

He started putting his hair in a bun since he arrived because he found working with his hair down uncomfortable. Miki helps him with it now.

Hinode's illnesses aren't deadly, but a lot of them are chronic and dealing with them made Hinode a little bit paranoid and he has a lot of health-related anxiety. His condition is supposed to be mostly up to interpretation, but I can say for sure that he has anemia, narcolepsy and fibromyalgia.

He's the tallest out of all the guards (and that also makes Eiji the shortest). He's also the oldest one.

It's hard for him to walk because of how tired he feels most of the time, so he asked Miki if it's okay to hold her hand when they walk together. After a lot of internal screaming because of Hinode being so cute, Miki agreed. 

His room has everything he needs and he can see the whole prison on multiple screens, watch the interrogation recordings, adjust the brightness of the screens and the room temperature and whoever kidnapped him also somehow learned about all the medications he has to take. He was creeped out by first, but then went "Oh, it's kinda nice actually :)"

Speaking of him arriving to Milgram, he was kidnapped while he was asleep. So before Jackalope brought him his guard uniform, Hinode spent all his time wearing pajamas. He still thinks they're more comfortable than his uniform. (another fun fact is that the first "concept art" of him had him in his pajamas sjskkssl)

He's probably the best character to ask for medical help at the moment, since he does know a lot about things like that, but whether he's able to actually help someone depends on how he's feeling at the moment and what his relationship with that person is like. 

Hinode actually used to play the guitar before his health started to get worse and after he realized he doesn't have the energy to play anymore, he gave it to Riku. Riku still uses his brother's guitar and not counting the ones he got in Milgram, he refuses to get a new one. It also has a bunch of silly drawings on it made by Riku himself, Hinode and their little sisters.

Hey guys! Guess who's FINALLY done writing her thesis manuscript, who's finally freed from the nightmare that was getting it corrected by my three PhD directors who each had their own expectations piling onto each other's, getting it printed and mailed to her jury, and completing dozens of administration related details, and who is finally allowed to have some free time to rest after all that 👀 (PS: I have one week)

I know "I" have been posting ED chapters every week and reblogging others' stuff every now and then, but regarding the ED chapters it's really just been the queue doing all the work haha. I'd actually finished writing the translation all the way back in August and decided to post a chapter per week in anticipation for these tough times when I'd be virtually dead online, just so this blog would be on some sort of life support in the meantime. I've been editing the PREV/NEXT links as each chapter came out (sometimes a day or two late because I forgor), but other than that I've only been browsing tumblr as a half-brained shadow 🥲

All that being said — I need rest. I've stayed up late up to 2-3am working and writing and drawing graphs way more often than my body would have preferred, pulled at least one all-nighter, and lost literally all sense of time (well, more than usual that is). I'm kinda writing this with the only brain cell I have left right now lmao.

So. After working on it since April, I finished writing my thesis. 171 pages, 49409 words with even more text that has been written and then scrapped for the current version, 58 graphs, 20 tables, 165 references in the bibliography, and tons of equations. Whatever am I going to do now?

I know there's a lot of translation work to do, a lot of other work elsewhere, and just thinking of looking at my to-do list is making my brain implode. And you'd think that after writing so much to the extent that my eyes started burning 24/7, I'd be sick of writing. But... strangely it's the opposite lmao

All that to say, SLS hasn't been updated since April 1st, and this needs to be fixed. I miss these dorks so much and I need some self-indulgent fanfiction writing after all this.

PS: I say I have one week to rest, because my PhD isn't over yet. I still have a scientific paper to start writing right after I come back from the grave (thankfully for that one I won't be the only one writing), and after that, I'll have my PhD defence planned for December 11. So yeah, I'm still not off the hook quite yet hahaha

I forgor my dreams and I didn't have a chance to write them immediately after waking today, so no dream interp!

I've not really been doing good cleansing lately, so I spent today doing some energy cleansing with Meridia and Her wondrous energy, because most of my energy these 13 days has been manifestation meditations in the morning and planning for the coming year. I think the creation of my new blogs count, lol, that they count as manifestation of new things for the new year. Because I think they will help me move forward better into Touhou Project and Pokémon PCP and PCWs. I've been doing both for a hot minute already, but it's also like. I can expand into them a lot, y'know?

Coming tomorrow, I should be getting hit by a winter storm. I'll be sure to honor Letty Whiterock and Kiape, one of my unrecorded Princes. Kiape likes snow and winter. Meanwhile, Letty Whiterock is all about Winter. She's most active in Winter and goes somewhere hidden during the rest of the year. Doesn't stop me from honoring Her at any other time, though, because She still exists, afterall.

I just hope the storm won't be too rough or anything like that. Letty Whiterock spare me! I've put a lot of new stuff into Her pinterest board, so maybe She'll spare me... at least from losing my power. I'll add Her to my list of Touhous to work on blurbs for.

I did this weeks witchquest, and my three short-term goals are (A. expand my blogs, (B. practice reading more, and (C. engage more with my faith and practice. I wrote more about it in my personal books, but there's no blockages to the first two other than my own motivation, and the blockage to the last one is more personal.

I also found a really nice year ahead spread and meshed it with a more traditional year ahead spread with one card for each month. I made it my own! I'm happy with myself, I might make this my yearly tradition. I'm not doing this spread today, but I'm gonna do it soon. Maybe on the 13th, the Full Moon. It's 78 cards long because I'm feral and it's intended to be both a tarot and an oracle spread.

I need to begin prepping some offerings for Meridia's Summoning Day. I think this time I'll add to Her pinterest board a bunch of lights and stuff. I've already got Her quick start done as offering, as well as a post about Faer summoning day done.

Alright cocksuckers I completely forgor I even wrote this post until someone left a note on it. So allow me to rewrite it now that Ruin is actually out and I'm not stepping on mines trying to glue the story together myself.

Preface:

- The first section of shit that stayed the same is still applicable.

- I'm adding something, Vanessa and Freddy's dismembered head are also in the picture as guardians for Gregory.

- The three have explained to Mint about the Mimic under the Pizzaplex.

- For their own safety they've moved out to a different location where only Mint seems to know where they are. Sometimes Mint goes over to visit to make sure they're still alive, spend time with their son, and make sure Freddy is still in a functional state. This somewhat throws the burntrap ending out the window and changes what happened on the night during the collapse of the pizzaplex. ( I was going to say fire here, but I'm still unsure if the fire happened or not because I'm still on the fence about which Security Breach ending is real. It might be Princess Quest due to the comic theory. But also what the fuck does it mean???)

Diverged headcanons that I'm changing:

- Mint actually was not at work when the Pizzaplex caved in. They get a call from management about it the next day and as soon as they hang up they have a fucking meltdown. (For various reasons. For one the loss of income, two knowing management might scrap anyone who's left inside if they're covering up the idea of re-opening, three they really hoped their boyfriends were ok.)

- A little after their meltdown they pack a few things one would expect for a hiking trip. (As well as some of their maintenance tools.) They stop by to tell Vanessa and Gregory where they're going and if they don't see them again then don't worry about it too much. Gregory is opposed to them even going back into the building, but advises them what to do if they encounter the Mimic in the slim chance it escapes.

- They gives them both hugs and leaves to break into the pizzaplex before night comes. Still somewhat harboring the same goals of getting anyone they can out to safety, stealing scraps to work on, etc.

- They end up getting there a little after Cassie, but take a few shortcuts that aren't seen in Ruin. Again, their main goal was to reach the Daycare.

Changing the canon, very divergent stuff here:

- By the time Mint gets to the Daycare, they end up having to do the generator section to reset their boyfriends. It has about the same emotional impact as Cassie resetting Roxy. However thru their tears, they hear someone else enter the Daycare, it's Cassie.

- Mint scared shitless.jpg, Eclipse goes to pick Cassie up and bring her to Mint. They ask what she's doing here. When Cassie tells her about looking for Gregory, Mint's eyes do that cartoon thing where they pop out of their head for a moment out of sheer confusion.

- "What the fuck are you talking about? He's safe at home. There ain't no way he followed me up here..." Eclipse baps Mint on the head for swearing in front of a child.

- Confused Cassie.jpg "But he's been talking to me since I've gotten here, he said he's trapped under the sinkhole in the Raceway." she shows them the walkie talkie.

- Even more confused Mint.jpg, they know what's down there already. "That's impossible. He wasn't here the night it collapsed." They conclude.

- After a bit of banter and convincing Cassie that they've seen Gregory recently, Mint decides to guide Cassie back to the exit since they technically got what they wanted from this expedition.

- Before they head back though, Mint asks Eclipse if they're ok and if they need anything. They still end up taking their mangled foot home in their backpack, but also stop by their maintenance closet to grab a few spare parts to install back on them at a later date.

- By the time the three get back to the surface it's dark out. The three load up into Mint's car and drive back to their home. "It's late, if Vanessa catches me knocking on her door again into the grim of night I think she'll club me to death. We'll go see Gregory in the morning. I feel like your parents might be worried about you, would you like to call them?" Mint was rambling, but still addressed Cassie with courtesy.

- Cassie declines for now, and Mint understands completely.

- Eclipse tucks Cassie in, and spends the night getting some TLC from Mint. (Consisting of cleaning his shell, giving him kisses, etc.)

- The next morning, the three go see Vanessa, Gregory, and Freddy. Mint's just like, "I told ya kid, he's safe and sound." And Cassie is just so fucking happy he's ok. The two hang out for the day while Mint catches up with Vanessa about some of the weird shit they ran into while they were back at their ex workplace.

Post Ruin with a shattered canon things:

- Mint, Vanessa, and the horny Y/N team up to restore Eclipse.

- Under the request of Cassie, she and Mint go back to retrieve Roxy. Which goes slightly differently to how it goes in game. But she still shuts down after her reboot and it really fucks with Cassie.

- Mint goes back on their own (with a little help from Eclipse when it comes to lifting) to salvage Chica, eventually even Monty, and somehow they end up finding Bonnie's corpse and dragging that back with them.

- Sadly Mint is unable to find DJ Music Man and even if they could I don't know how they'd be able to get him out of there without a giant hole in one of the Pizzaplex's outer walls.

- Mint does a lot of stealing of company property to use during future repairs. I do not make the rules.

- Eventually the three engineers get the rest of the cast back into working order, but they're still prototyping a body for Freddy (Gregory is actively learning about engineering in hopes to help them along). Until then, Bonnie carries his head around. (I was picturing in a similar fashion to Juliet Starling with her boyfriend Nick, but nobody understands that reference now.)

- Mint and Eclipse do system counseling to restore the shoddy relationship Sun has with Moon due to the poor decisions of Fazbear Entertainment's cheap and shitty management.

- My canon now. Everyone lives except the two animatronics of Ruin that deserve to be scooped (the prototype Freddy and the Mimic)

And yeah these are my silly indulgent rewrite headcannons where Mint is canon to FNAF Ruin. Hopefully I don't have to keep adding onto this, but I'm kinda doubtful of that because Steel Wool left us on a cliffhanger. So. Be prepared. There might be a third time I have to rewrite this. ✌️🤡

Alright before we get started I just wanted to screw around a little with the Security Breach DLC trailer's reveal of Eclipse. Basically having cementing at least one of the fire endings as canon. Thus, throwing a fucking wrench into my original rewrite of Security Breach to have Mint as canon. This won't be anything cohesive, just a few headcannons.

Things that have stayed the same:

- Sun still tends to not leave the Daycare area (or what's left of it) if he can help it, but this time out of fear. Mostly because the rest of the building is unstable and collapsing in on itself at random intervals. Moon is a little less obligated to roam, but he does stray out at a small range.

- Sun and Moon are still contained within one body.

- Afton Virus has been dealt with in only two animatronics ( Moon and Music Man (maybe Freddy if you squint)), but Mint is still responsible for debugging it out of Moon.

- Moon is still a little shit thanks to the ✨theatre programming✨

- Gregory is not homeless, he's got Mint as a human dad figure.

- Mint is still mutuals with the really horny engineer Y/N from that one fic.

- Post Afton fight fire, Mint becomes unemployed. They still do their mechanic work at home with various hobbyist projects. This comes in handy when they find their boyfriends later.

- Mint and the animatronics are still friends! It breaks their heart to see what had happened to them after they return to the Pizzaplex.

Things that diverged from the original spitballings:

- Mint does not have time to run back in to get Sun and Moon out of the burning pizzaplex safely. They know this and cry heavily on the night of the fire in the parking lot. For more than just them, but it's a major reason they were upset.

- Despite the fire, a lot of the innards of the Pizzaplex are left intact, minus the fact the building has collapsed slightly into the ground.

- Mint is the only one that was able to exit the building that night. Gregory and Freddy end up trapped in the sewer / depths and somehow make their way back up into the main pizzaplex.

- In the parking lot, they get a transmission on their Fazwatch from Gregory from under the building. It's heavily distorted, but it's a sign that he's alive. Mint cries more due to this, but is relieved he's alive.

- Mint returns to the pizzaplex the next day, strapped up in the equivalent of hiking gear in search of their son Gregory, their boyfriends Sun and Moon, their friends consisting of the main animatronic cast, and some surviving mechanical equipment to take home and fool with.

- Unknown plotpoint detected, I'm not sure what's driving the DLC's story yet so I can't really write on where Mint fits into the story.

Probably very very very canon divergent spitballs:

- Mint finds Cassie first, and discovers she's in contact with their son via transmissions. Mint helps Cassie stay alive in the ruins for a while until they encounter the daycare area. Out of mutual interest of finding where Gregory is so the group can leave.

- Once at the daycare, Mint literally breaks down and weeps when Eclipse bursts the door open to greet the two.

- Despite the daycare attendants' damaged appearance, that doesn't stop Mint from embracing them immediately. They physically try to comfort Mint, but are also a little shaken up. As both parties thought they had died.

- Cassie is noticably confused, and beckons Mint to continue on their ventures, but Mint refuses and apologizes profusely. They stay behind with their boyfriends.

- Cassie continues the DLC on her own after resting up at the daycare/doing the section there if that's applicable.

- Mint examines their boyfriends' body for injuries and cries a little more. Is a little concerned about the fact one of their feet is missing, constantly asks if they're in pain and if they can do anything to help.

- Mint spends hours helping them repair a handful of damaged internals with some of the tools they packed. Having jerry-rigged one of the various generators in the daycare to be used as a power supply for their soldering iron. Sadly, they cannot do much about their outer shell at that moment.

- Mint asks if they know where their foot went as they had hoped they could reattach it, the answer was yes. However the metal was crushed beyond repair without some specialized process being involved. Defeated, Mint packs it into their backpack in hopes that once they leave they can do something about it later.

- Sun and Moon can still walk relatively fine without it, but seem to crawl on all fours for long distances. It leave behind a distinct metal scraping sound either way.

- Mint discusses their next course of action with Sun and Moon, undecided if they want to visit their old workshop, get them back up to the surface so they can be safe at Mint's home while they continue the search for Gregory, or drag them along to go find Gregory and return later for looting. They decide on the latter and leave the area together.

- The rest of the DLC plays out as vague as that sounds. IDK where to go from here. Mint, Sun, and Moon find their son big whoop. What happens to everything else? Idk yet, we'll see.

- Low-key hoping Mint just dedicates their post-DLC livings to just working with horny Y/N to restore the ruined animatronics to their former glory. Fazbear Entertainment and Vannie DNI.

And uh yeah. That's all I got. The DLC hasn't actually come out yet, and even the trailer makes it unclear if Freddy is even "in-tact" (as much as he could be due to his wear and tear by the Afton Ending). There's a lot of things up in the air rn and I absolutely cannot wait for Steel Wool to release the Ruins DLC. I'm going to be eating so fucking good when it comes out istg.
