8. how do they communicate with each other? are there any reoccurring phrases or gestures unique to their relationship?

kikou: kou leads and kiku follows. kou is the yapper and kiku is the enraptured listener <3 esp at the beginning of their relationship kou always dropped him little lines he could grab to keep the conversation going. kou’s skill is that he can spin anything you throw at him into a colorful tapestry, so every conversation feels rich and well lived in, it's impossible to make small talk with him. being with kou also teaches kiku how to describe things without visual cues. it's a nice exercise. so if the view is nice from the train window, he won't say 'the sky is so blue and clear', but something like 'the sky is like a fresh batch of laundry', and kou will imagine the clean scent of sheets, light and airy after a new wash, a new day, and get the same sentiment.

they sparingly text, since kou has the text-to-speech feature set to the super fast speed, and he doesn't like conversing with people like that ('i can't hear You through it'), so they mostly do either video calls or voice messages. they will text if it's for trivial matters (do you need anything from the store, have you reached home, etc) but that's about it.

16. is one of them keeping secrets from the other? why? how would they act if the secret was revealed?

kou isn't the type to keep secrets. if there's something he needs to say he'll say it ... he will adjust his method of communication based on the situation of course, whether to ease into it gently or say it upfront, but he doesn't keep secrets. kiku on the other hand....he doesn't keep secrets per se, but he is a terrible, conflict-avoidant communicator, so he might....delay in saying certain things (he's working on it, it's hard shaking off your upbringing). the only actual secrets they would keep are probably certain carnal preferences, which they would eventually reveal to each other....with a mutual mixture of flustered teasing and enthusiasm.

naomi and noriko:

10. what is one major difference between them?

naomi has an almost pathological obsession with saving face while noriko just barely remembers to cling to the notion. for naomi this of course stemmed from her upper class upbringing rife with competition and false pleasantries where appearances were of the utmost importance, your clothes your house your grades your vacations, and to slip up was tacky and uncouth. can't let anyone see anything other than cool, level-headedness. she will actively avoid situations she knows are not her forte, and every conversation is like a chess game, conceding and withholding information according to the front she wants to maintain. since her input is vastly larger than her output, she is rather forgettable as a person.

noriko had quite a lax upbringing on the other hand, hers was quite a receptive, open-minded family, not so 'stuffy', owing to many relatives overseas who would come to visit and who they would visit; she's been exposed to other cultures and ways of life. she's resourceful and accommodating, which explains her immediate friendship with kou when they were kids. she didn't see his blindness as something to poke and prod at, something strange, it was just a part of him, something to fit into their games. noriko’s like an elastic band (flexible, multipurpose) while naomi’s a switchblade (excels in its limited range of motion).

20. what is their best memory together?

aww okay so i can't think of a 'best' memory but one they're fond of is the movie nights they have with kou. once a month they'll each choose a movie and watch them in a marathon at kou’s apartment. noriko puts on western classics from the early 2000s in the original language so they can practice their english, much to kou’s chagrin (“can you spell gabbana?”). they don't really spend that much time together, just the two of them, kou is always with them (kiku doesn't think he's good enough company for noriko, he feels he's too boring hgjsgfh so he always tries to rope kou into it to even out the playing field), but i think eventually they do have a life changing field trip atla style.

You should know better by now than to attempt to talk to your mother about things. This happens every single time, you swear. You have a great day, you call her to tell her about it, and she turns things around so that she’s the centre of attention. 

And yet, you do it every time. You fall for it. Every time. 

You suppose maybe it’s just hope that she might one day turn it around and actually hear what you have to say. But hope is just that. Hope. Ah well, perhaps one day, hey? 

But whenever this sort of thing happens, there’s one person you turn to for comfort who is always more than happy to take you under their wing. Crowley. That’s where you found yourself now, huddled in his arms and crying your little heart out.

“You know,” you say halfway through a sniffle. “You’re pretty sweet for a Demon.” 

Crowley grunts, wrapping his arm around you a little tighter.

“Going to pretend you didn’t just say that, Pet,” he replied, pressing a soft kiss to your forehead anyway. “Besides, I dunno why you bother trying with her. She’s always doing her best to upset you.” 

You hum, leaning into his rather bony shoulder and closing your eyes, wiping the snot and tears away with a tissue. 

“I just wanted to tell her about my day. I didn’t want anything from her.” 

Crowley hummed thoughtfully, rubbing his hand over your skin in soft comforting circles. 

“Could always call me- you know, if you wanted. I’m happy to listen. Got ears, may as well use them for something.” 

You lift your head, turning to face him head-on. There’s not a hint of a lie there on his face for you to see. He… he was genuine- he wanted to listen to you talk about your day. You grinned and surged forward to press a bit, whopping kiss on his cheek, to which he groaned and wiped your slobber off. 

“Alright, maybe not then,” he protested, face screwed up in a grimace, though you could tell he was just as amused as you were. 

“Nope,” you said, cupping his cheeks and squishing his face. “Too late. You already said.” 

Crowley grunted again- a soft ‘ngk’ sound, but he always answered when you called.

Your mum did get better at it eventually, and you were grateful that she put the effort in, but you couldn’t deny how happy that voice on the other end made you when Crowley picked up.

4. Favourite carrier mecha? Do you even LIKE carrier mecha??

So my answer to "do you like [category]", most of the time, will be It Depends; and in this case a lot of what it depends on is if the base can just stand up and become a big fucking robot. And Dekabase Robo is a base that just stands up and becomes a big fucking robot, and looks sick as hell, and has prop interaction with the smaller robos, AND it's the personal mecha of BOSS. I'll fully admit I didn't think this question through and maybe there's other carrier mechas I'm forgetting that I may technically like more, but this one leapt to the front of my mind instantly and I don't think it's getting beaten

10. Skirts on suits, good or bad?

Once again: it depends!! A lot of my favourite suits end up being pinks, and in all of these examples I don't think I'd be quite as into the top row without the skirts and the bottom row with skirts. Magiranger in particular is a great example because that introduced tights for a lot more colour breakup; I honestly think the skirted Magiranger suits are so so so far ahead of the non-skirted ones on the main team it's not even funny.

But it's also very rare we see girls without skirts, so honestly; I think that is my preference! The rarity makes it more valuable, and it's obviously something I'll be asking to see more of when the alternative is essentially the default

Timeline in September, Afterglow back in business, currently joining the Final part of the Girls Band Tournament. A small talk before the concert.

They're back, Afterglow is back. Regular concerts, rehearsals, and coming together as a band. Everyone was improving, especially Himari and Tsugumi, working hard to improve and give the greatest concerts. They joined it was until weeks later they were recommended by Marina-san to join the Girls Band Tournament.

They won most rounds, and made it through the semi-finals. Afterglow had gotten popular, far more popular than expected. Their electrifying concerts and life changing performances, had made everyone love their songs. Afterglow's concerts are getting intense, to the point where both Ran and Moca are busy, especially when it comes to investigating & joining the Phantom Thieves missions. Ran and Moca are getting busier, especially joining the GBT finals. It will also be Afterglow's re-debut and Himari hoped that they could be scouted by Music Agencies, much to the amusement of Afterglow.

“I won't be so sure if that's the case,” Tomoe chuckled, “But, I can't wait to bang the drums and give ‘em a performance that they will remember!”

The rehearsals are always lively and intense, with the Final part of Girls Band Tournament coming in, everyone is on edge. It was a good thing that when the letter came for them to be moved to the finals makes their heart race. Motivating each other as well as practice to improve to give out the best. It is natural for both Ran and Moca to look so tired the next day for their Phantom Thieves weekly meeting. 

“Woah Moca-chi. . .Ranran, you look like you're gonna pass out in a sec,” Sakamoto exclaimed when the two slumped on the table. Ran was holding a book for the new song Afterglow is going to sing. They only got a week left before the band tournament. 

“. . .one more week. . .” Moca slurred, she looked tired, “. . .we. . .win. .”

Moca passed out as Ran sighs, “Gomen. . .we’ve been busy by a lot, we both tried to make time to join,”

Futaba-san sat on the table, with Ann, Makoto-senpai, Morgana, and Sakamoto joining. Kitagawa takes the chair near the counter, with Akira-kun walking in, giving Ran a black coffee, “On the house,” he added, which is pretty rare at some point. Ran thanked the leader of the thieves, before drinking the coffee until it's finish, making everyone’s eye widened. 

Ran looks at the cup tiredly, “I'll pay for the next one,” 

“No, what you need is sleep!” Makoto-senpai glared, “When was the last time you slept?”

“. . .” Ran was quiet before answering, “Two days ago,”

“WHAT!”

The Phantom Thieves meeting was cancelled, with both Ran and Moca being escorted to their homes. Well, technically Moca joined Ran, since Moca's parents are out, and Moca is staying with her. The two thanked both of them, before nodding to each other to sleep on the same bed. It wasn't until the next day, the two woke up fresh, and ready for another rehearsal.

After all, they did agree that they want to win the Girls Band Tournament, and they want to give it their all.

The day of the concert is nerve-wracking for every member of Afterglow, all those practices, creating a new song, practice again, until late at night until their parents get mad. But still, they want to give it their all, to create the greatest performance, and plant the legend of Afterglow. 

Everyone in Afterglow is in the changing room, using their new costumes. Adorning their new costumes makes them look confident, and they want to do their best. Everyone was sitting, waiting for the other two bands to finish performing. Yes, performing on a large stage, one that they practiced on yesterday. 

Himari looks at them, fidgeting in nervousness, “I can't believe this is real, were on the final of GBT,”

Tsugumi also fidgeted in nervousness, “It is true, I wouldn't lie, it felt intimidating suddenly, like everything seemed real,” Tsugumi looks at them, “I'm scared if I make a mistake in one of the songs, what if I made a mistake,”

“We're not a rookie band anymore,” Himari added, “W-we’re Afterglow, but, I can't help but feel nervous,”

“No need to worry about that,” Moca said lazily, “Just think of everyone as bread,”

“Moca, we all know that wouldn't help,” Tomoe nervously chuckled, although she acted tough. Ran noted her nervous chuckles, “Tomoe. . .”

“Although at the same time, I feel fired up,” Tomoe added, as she gripped her first, “After all we're doing it together, hell, we've been through rough times together, as a band and as childhood friends,”

“That is true,” Tsugumi said, determined, “After all, we can do it, we’re Afterglow after all! We will face this together no matter what,”

“Now that's Tsugu for you~ we gotta have to be tsugurific after all~!” Moca added.

“We practiced a lot for this, you know!” Himari smiled, “Everyday after school, practice until the evening, we did rehearsal at CIRCLE, we did everything to practice no matter what, Afterglow can do this!”

“That's the spirit, Himari!” Tomoe exclaimed.

“That makes me feel so fired up, let's chant, let's go, ei! ei! Ooh!” Himari chanted but everyone became quiet, but smiling as if it was something normal.

“Ooh!” Moca exclaimed, making Himari exclaimed, “Moca that's not how it works! Why didn't anyone join?”

Tsugumi, Tomoe, Moca, and Ran laughed, the tension levitated, then Himari joined the laugh. They each smiled, looking at each other, before a staff member came, telling them to get ready before it's their turn. 

The members of Afterglow got ready, with Ran, Moca, and Himari taking their respective instruments (Ran & Moca guitar, while Himari a bass), and Tomoe her drumsticks. Before Tsugumi joined and smiled.

Once their near the stage, they can hear the audience clapping.

“Looks like the bands fire them up already,” Tomoe said.

“Well then, everyone. . .the same as always, the very best,”

Everyone in Afterglow nodded, before going to the stage to play the greatest band performance in all of Japan’s history.

They won, they couldn't believe it but they won. Afterglow won the Girls Band Tournament. The childhood friends smiled at one another before celebrating their re-debut as well as their stepping stone to create the greatest performance in all of History. Next off, all of Japan will hear their music. 

Author's Notes: Missed me? Guess not. Ngl, I did forget to send this btw, it's been on my docs for days. So. . .why skip to GBT? I think that Afterglow would want a challenge, coming back and in high motivation. Of course, they practiced hard and improved their sounds, similar to their GBJ (Girls Band Jam) in the First story, they were recommended by the staff. Thought that it would be nice for them to join, especially now they work several times harder to win.

And yes, I am biased for Afterglow, they did end up winning in the end. They deserve it btw, and like that year was a hard year for them. Concerts, especially those that are written as tournaments or competitions can be nerve-wracking, especially when they just came back. But, hey, they did it, Afterglow lovers rejoice, they win! hmmm depends on why the darling is frightened tbh are they always afraid or is this started after cerelos took them the first time? i do imagine he'd be pretty upset and even offended, though he won't outwardly show his feelings. he'd probably start ordering the servants to disappear whenever the darling is in sight, be invisible, to further isolate them, to force them either to face their loneliness and/or accept cerelos as their emperor and husband. since humans are in nature social, they'd naturally long for some form of company and possibly some skin to skin contact.

in short, since the coecrced sex doesn't seem to do enough, cerelos would've likely infict some psychological damages on his darling to force them to accept him. he wouldn't be…physically abusive, no, but he will emotionally and mentally cripple his darling without relying on cruel words and uses some amount of gaslighting.

regardless, you will only have him and you will love him. he is, after all, your emperor and husband. why wouldn't you embrace him and his power?

Okay, so...uh... I didn't mean to join the Ineffable War.

If you want the whole story, I was just chilling when one of my friends took my phone and started messaging half of the people existing on Pinterest (they sent at least 300 texts. I'm still impressed by how they did that, knowing that they barely speak English).

So, one of these people "we" texted was Serpent, they answered, we talked about Satan, followed each other, I started looking at gomens stuff and doing fanart.

And then, one day, shit happened. You probably already know that I don't have enough money to change my BB computer, and that it isn't working very well (remember rise and slat). So I saw a blank picture on my dashboard. Of course I'm interested. I clicked. I clicked again. And again. The picture didn't charge. It was late so I just started clicking like a mad raccoon. Oh, poor me. It was a bloody discord link.

So I just arrived at an unknown server, with a lot of unknown people, all looking at me like I came from the Moon. I took all my charisma resources and said something deep and philosophical like "uhhh....hi (my name is Ronnie, I'm an addict)! I don't have any idea of what I'm doing here but can you adopt me? I have a bit of medical knowledge and I can do ultra realistic mafia themed parties"

They adopted me, and I started collecting data to help with my imposter syndrome. That's how I became an Archivist. And then you arrived. You know what's next.

I'm super glad I met them tho. Chtulhu, that sounded like meeting them was a mistake. It wasn't. But yeah, I'm an accident here lol

hi hina i have some art related questions! 1) is it easy to go back to an old art style on account of already having drawn in it or do you actively have to train yourself to go back? for example, i notice that your lmhs art style is softer and your current one is sharper (that's the extent of my technical art terms knowledge gomen) 2) which of your own art styles/eras is/are your favorite(s)? 3) do you prefer more stylized or more realistic art styles? 4) are you easily influenced (consciously or unconsciously) by other art styles? i know when i read something i really love, i start to mimic that style in my own writing. 4) do you have any favorite classical paintings? i know the fallen angel is one.

hi mariam!!! sorry it’s taken me so long to this so late fjhdskgdjf i won’t lie some of these questions Stumped me but i will try my best to answer !

it depends? I think a lot of my art style shifts come naturally as the result of growing and improving my skills, so “going back” to an older style might be hard to do without falling back on bad habits that I might have grown out of, or simply things that i no longer think look good. i don’t think i would have to train myself necessarily because the muscle memory is still there, but i might have to stop myself from wanting to Improve aspects of the style in ways that might fundamentally alter what made the style recognizable in the first place. in terms of the lmhs art style, or the soft/sketchy look i was using at the time, that specifically would be pretty easy to go back to I think, since it’s basically a slightly cleaned version of how my art looks early in the process :> i would just have to take a clean sketch + add colours w minimal shading, skipping the lineart and intense render 

it feels like a copout to say but i love where i am now :’> from what i’ve seen it’s almost like. a gag among artists of arcane being a catalyst fr drastic art improvement but it IS . everything about the art and animation in that show inspires me so much and it’s been great taking what I like from it and trying to mimic and adapt it into something that suits how I like to work. even though it’s frustrating that I take longer to finish a piece, I really am so happy i’m back to painting i’m so proud of my current render and anatomy and use of colour. i think i’ve finally found a good balance of textures as well and overall i’ve just been having so much fun pushing myself into new brushes and finding new ways to use old ones :D

i think i’m somewhere in the middle but leaning more into realism, especially when it comes to the way I colour. obviously there are aspects that I stylize to suit my needs but especially in terms of Other Anime Art i’m aware that I fall more on the realism side of things lol

yes omg i’m so easily influenced and that constant influx of new inspiration and learning how to adapt to it is one of the things i love most about drawing and making art!!! i kind of mention this notion in my lil gush about arcane but i LOVE looking at other artists' works or at things that inspire me and picking it apart in my brain to see what/how i can use it! i got into art by “copying” and even as i’ve grown into being comfortable enough to make my own stuff, I think that there is always value in learning from what you love and figuring out how to make what you love about it your own. maybe it’s not that deep bc i draw anime fanart but art fr me is an amalgamation of every piece of media ive loved and of everything i’ve ever found beauty in

i do love the fallen angel painting but tbh i don’t think classical art occupies a very big place in my brain fhjdskgfj my knowledge is sadly lacking :< i like claude monet and roberto ferri’s work a lot but overall i think modern art and media means a lot more to me in terms of where I draw my inspiration from

To anyone passing by at this inopportune moment, the sound of your screaming would probably (and definitely) constitute a phone call to the police. In any other scenario, you would most certainly hope so. 

Thankfully, it’s very late and there aren’t usually many people about on Greek Street at two in the morning. It was just convenient that Aziraphale lived in the same place he worked. 

But why were you screaming- that was the question. The answer was the television. You were screaming at the television. It was movie night, and it was your turn to pick. It was safe to say Aziraphale was not necessarily a fan of horror movies, but he loved you, and you loved horror movies. So by extension, he loved watching horror movies with you. 

It was just a shame that horror movies terrified you as much as you loved them. 

“Oh dear,” Aziraphale tutted, shuffling closer to you and wrapping his arm around your side. “I really do not understand why you enjoy watching these films, my dear. They’re quite…” he trailed off, eyeing the television warily. “Unpleasant.” 

You chuckled, heart rate still up in the skies. 

“They’re fun, I promise,” you attempted to convince him. Aziraphale did not seem to believe you all that much. “They’re scary but that’s the fun bit.” 

Aziraphale gave you a purse-lipped suspicious look. 

“Is that so?” He asked, sounding disbelieving. “I cannot fathom how that could possibly be entertaining, but if you insist.” 

A jump scare made you flinch, and your arms flew up in front of your face to block yourself from the approaching horror on the screen. 

“Ah,” Aziraphale muttered mostly to himself. “Yes, very entertaining.” 

You were quite certain that Aziraphale spent most of the time watching horror movies comforting you, or thinking about what needed to be done in the shop. But he still sat with you and attempted to enjoy them for your sake. 

It was one of the things you loved about him. One of many.

favorite color and why: i love green as a whole and i wear it a lot, but my actual favorite is red because i look best in it and i think it’s a very powerful color.

comfort movies: i’m not a huge movie watcher but i like the phantom of the opera, dead poets society, coraline, the princess bride, and the breakfast club!!

favorite season and why: i love love love fall!! it’s so pretty and here in texas it’s the only season with actually decent weather.

favorite books: ender’s game (i know i already addressed this in a previous post), game of thrones, interview with the vampire, wheel of time

favorite aesthetics: i’m sort of a blend of dark academia and forestcore, and it depends on the season which one i like better

favorite genre: i love psychological horror actually lol. the kind of good shit that makes me stay up wayyy too late. my favorite is vanilla sky

favorite clothing style: like i said i like dark academia and forestcore but what that means for me is grandpa sweaters, rolled up jeans, high waisted trousers, doc martens, pretty socks, the like.

favorite music style: indie folk!

favorite artists: hozier and lord huron (but you knew that already)

favorite song(s) : favorite of all time is wasteland, baby! by hozier, current favorite is wading in waist high water (solstice version) by fleet foxes

favorite fandoms: gomens fandom is my current but they can be a little much sometimes. the oa fandom however was always filled with such a great community
