Sanji & Femininity & Gender Identity & Repression of Self & Other Sin-day Head Canons

Femininity

Sanji will never admit to it but he does lean more into his femininity than most of the men/male presenting members of the Straw Hat Pirates. This was first hinted at when on Jaya, his fear of bugs causing him to panic when they were searching for the South Bird. He is also the only one other than the girls who bathes every day, valuing his hygiene and appearance.

It is also rare to see Sanji in low quality clothing, often he is in suits with rare exceptions. He is also shown often in roles that are traditionally viewed with women. Such as cooking and happily serving others before looking to his own happiness.

Gender Identity

His gender identity is fluid, some days feeling far more like a girl than a boy. He did not know how to identify this until his time at Kamabaka during the time skip. It is something that he still keeps to himself, letting very few know about this part of himself. Ways that he gets around this when he is feeling more like a girl: he will wear shoes with more of a heel, silk or satin panties and a corset.

He will also wear subtle and neutral makeup products, such as a light lip stain and pale eyeshadow. Sanji has also become quite adept as styling hair and doing makeup for others and will often offer to give the girls a spa day when he is feeling more femme presenting.

Repression of Self

Sanji still represses himself and who he is, something he has done as a defense since he was a child. He rarely feels like he can open up about his true self, solely due to how his father and brothers would treat him when he wanted to be anything other than a weapon. While he does let some aspects of who he is out, finer aspects such as his fear of bugs (when not found out because a bug is present), and his skill with hair and makeup are reserved only for those that he trusts above all else.

Something that he has never expressed, mostly because of the fact that he refuses to acknowledge it himself is attraction to men. The attraction, paired with desires to be treated with the same level of pampering that he gives to the girls is something that he cannot really identify. When he realizes these things about himself he refuses to accept them until he convinces himself otherwise.

⟩ how do they feel about having multiple partners at once? have they ever done it? chris hasn't had the experience as of yet. though there have been a couple of times where he'd been close to. once in college and once during tour, both of which he was the one to back out. perhaps due to being incredibly awkward and not being sure if it was something he wanted at the time. nowadays, since he's in a committed, monogamous relationship, it hasn't cross his mind. unless his girlfriend were to bring up the idea, if it were something she wanted to do, he'd then consider it again.
