Hiii. Breaking up my reblogs with a slightly older piece that will probably get very few likes because this pairing is rare. Rather than diamonds, probably. But yes I am a Hassel x Larry TRUTHER (obviously no hate towards other pairings, I for one am also a huge fan of @/OkeanosGraphics on Twitter's selfship and generally vibe with Hassel x Brassius) so I need to spread the good word. Even if this piece isn't obviously ship or anything. It's ship TO ME.

Anyways. This is just inkwork with the sketch layer not erased, I have no plans to finish this and fully render it. It's also a bit on the older side but who gaf. Peace and love on planet earth. You'll have to drag him away from his work otherwise he will just be hunched over painting the whole day instead of taking breaks to eat and hydrate. Is also a bit stubborn when it comes to taking a break, but if he sees that you're getting upset or frustrated then he'll put his paint brush down.

Constantly watching you. When you two are on dates or just doing something like grocery shopping together, his eyes are watching your every movement. You're his muse and he doesn't want to miss seeing something that can spark his inspiration.

Likes to go to museums with you. Museum dates are something he always likes. And when he travels due to Gym Leader business, he's sure to take you with (if you want to, it's fine if you don't), but he's going to show you other museums in other locations.

Grusha

Wants to go snowboarding with you a lot. He's unable to do it professionally due to his injury, but he's happy to go on a date where he snowboards with you. There're some bittersweet moments with him while snowboarding, but he assures you that he is very happy to have these moments with you.

Grusha tries to seem like he has things together when he's with you. He's actually rather stressed out, but he doesn't like you seeing that side of him. Pull aside and hug him and he'll give the deepest sigh of relief because he really needed the hug.

Not the most emotional person. His scarf hides his face, so you really only have his eyes to tell you how he's feeling. But even with his emotions not really on his sleeves, he always gives you the softest looks.

Hassel

Lots of soft music playing throughout his house. Or even when you visit his classroom at the school, there's some soft music in the background. Even though he didn't go into music, he still very much loves it still.

Remembers lots of things about you too. Knows exactly what drinks you like and how you like to eat certain foods. Anytime he notices you're a bit stress or anxious, he's there with a comfort item he remembers you mentioning.

You get to witness his grumbling when he's doing schoolwork and he ends up smearing ink or pencil on his hand because he's left-handed. Just little pouts on his face because he thought he was careful this time. It's very adorable.

Larry

He is so tired and overworked all the time. And he's not going to hide his tired appearance from you. He won't complain (too much) in front of you, but he's not going to try and seem like he has his crap together in front of you all the time.

Real big on staying home and hanging out. He doesn't mind if you want to go out and do something, but he prefers staying home and relaxing. Doesn't mind doing typical house husband stuff either. Yeah, he worked all day, but he doesn't mind male wife-ing it up for you.

Either falls asleep too easily or cannot sleep no matter what. If you two are watching TV or something, then he'll end up falling asleep halfway through. But when it comes to actually laying down in bed, he is awake. His body is tired, but his mind is awake as he just holds you close and let's his eyes rest at least.

Larry thinks heaven is a place. He sits, back against the couch, your legs over his shoulders, and feels good. Your thighs cushion his head as he watches people and Pokémon alike work through problems an misunderstandings. Brassius' hand even coaxes through his hair occasionally, when not tracing patterns against your leg.

"It's so lovely." Hassel sighs, hugging your arm to his chest as he presses his head to your shoulder. His eyes are glassy, especially once the main couple share a passionate kiss. "Oh, they're so in love."

"Quite a beautiful scene." Brassius agrees, on your other side. He pets Larry's head again, then sneaks a kiss to your cheek. It earns him some amused side-eye. "A shame the villain shall wreck it."

"What-?!" Hassel is cut off by a giant explosion filing the TV screen. "NO!"

Larry snorts, startled out of his near slumber by the shout. He lifts his head some, pawing at the drool stuck to his chin. Hassel is shouting something as you try to calm him through your laughter. Brassius is stroking his hair again, though, and his concentration wanes.

"You're disturbing poor Larry." You playfully scold Hassel. The man pouts at you, but his brows knit as he eyes Larry, so snug between your thighs. "Poor thing had such a long day at work, and you're not letting him rest."

After giving you the most pitiful look, Hassel leans down to press a kiss to the top of Larry's head. Larry snores in response, causing Brassius to laugh.

"Like a fairy tale." He teases Hassel. "You put him to sleep with a kiss."

"Let's not wake him." You say, pulling the boys closer to you. They happily snuggle into your sides, warm and comfortable in this little sandwich. "Do we get kisses too, though?"

Poor Larry wakes again to to the three of you giggling over kisses, upset he was left out of the kissing. You make sure he gets his fair share.

Larry x Kabu (AoKabu, Blueturnipshipping) headcanons/rambles who cheered!!

- the name 'blueturnipshipping' is being coined by me!!! If there is another wildly used name I would like to know, but my reason for choosing that ship name is because when combined, Ao and Kabu translates to 'blue turnip' (at least, when using machine translation. If it translates differently I would like to know!!!!)

- Kabu, especially in his youth, was seen as quite attractive due to his physical fitness and general attitude on the battlefield. Paired with being a celebrity he was likely sought after frequently. He mentions it very rarely in passing but isn't something he likes to bring up, both from general politeness/being humble and also because a good chunk of those pursuing him were parasocial due to his status. It happens a lot less now due to his age, since he doesn't use social media he doesn't see how there are some people online who make negative comments about him being past his prime. Even so he still has that latent feeling of having peaked, stemming from his previous stumbling in his career as a gym leader.

- Larry probably hasn't experienced being desired in the same capacity as Kabu. Being a gym leader and elite four member doesn't get you much prestige in Paldea due to having less money within the League and a lack of celebrity culture in Paldea for the league. The only exceptions to this are people who are famous for things outside of their position as a gym leader, like Iono with her streaming career. As this is something Larry doesn't have, he isn't on nearly as wide a stage. He's also not particularly 'handsome' in the sense that he isn't well built or looks like a model, so while he has had experience dating and being sought after it's generally not very common and definitely became rarer as he got older. Thats partially because of him being extremely busy as well, not just from his age/looks.

- Kabu is extremely outwardly passionate about battling, something that Larry admires and partially envies. Larry also has a passion for it- he wouldn't be a double member of the League otherwise- but due to working two positions and having an office job he's worn thin and has lost that 'spark' that made him really enjoy battling in the first place. Kabu reignites that in him.

- Kabu greatly appreciates Larry's ability to ignore how others think about him. Kabu isn't self conscious per se, but you do end up taking on some level of concern about your appearance/attitude/actions/etc when you're a celebrity and scrutinized 24/7.

- Kabu is canonically from Hoenn and I headcanon Larry as being from Johto due to his Dudunsparce + how heavily based on the Japanese salaryman stereotype he is. Because of this they both bond over a shared appreciation for the similarities in their cuisine (I headcanon that hoenn has a heavier focus on seafood due to having a lot of ocean nearby, and the Kanto/Johto areas are more agriculture focused. However they are both based on Japan so there is overlap)

- Kabu is more prone to grand gestures of love. Think impressive dinners, big bouquets, if he's making you a meal it's going to be a full course meal. That sort of thing. His 'always do your best' attitude carries over into his love life, though he does try to tone it down as Larry can sometimes be overwhelmed by it.

- Larry, conversely, shows his love in smaller ways. He sees something at the store while buying groceries he thinks Kabu would like and gets it, and doesn't really say much about it. Sending texts on his break that are just simple reminders that he loves Kabu. They balance each other out.

- both of them are a little surprised to learn they like each other back. Larry because he views Kabu as completely out of his league, and Kabu because he would have thought his more fiery personality wouldn't have meshed very well with Larry's more muted one. Kabu has had experience in the past with having lovers originally fully enjoy how passionate it is before they got tired of it and found it overbearing; Larry is just always a bit surprised people actually like him outside of him being a generally fine coworker since he's constantly hearing from others that he's boring and not very fun.
