I love Lara Jean Song-Covey. Love her. She's my favorite. She's like my spirit animal out of every live-action movie, I swear. Every time I watch To All the Boys (I, II, III)- they're my favorite movies because of Lara Jean okay?

But hear me out, in To All the Boys III, I wish I was as strong as Peter Kavinsky because I can't be for the life of me. I could not be so brave, no matter how wrong I am, or how much I want something, at the end of that movie my whole being moves into his character because I am torn into pieces by his storyline. I love Peter Kavinsky so much.

1) Lara Jean Song-Covey from To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before - middle of three girls, homebody, half-falls in love with every person she meets

2) Neville Longbottom from the Harry Potter series - always nervous, often forgetful, kind of clumsy—but tries very hard!

3) Alex Claremont-Diaz from Red, White, and Royal Blue - ultra chaotic, anxious, all the ADHD vibes, insults as a form of flirting, friendly but really only has a few close friends

there is something so hilarious to me about the way peter kavinsky

lets lara jean kiss him completely out of the blue

seeks out her company (see: milkshakes in the diner)

suggests the whole fake dating thing unprompted

goes out of his way for her (see: yakult)

suggests he writers her notes every day and then writes her *actual* notes instead of just pretending/writing something generic

continually finds excuses to keep the scheme going (ski trip)

increases the stakes by involving other people - getting to know her family and introducing her to his own, as well as his friends

goes along with her contract and her various requirements to the scheme, even if they don't particularly serve him (e.g. no kissing rule)

and lara jean still thinks he's completely in love with gen and her crush on him is entirely unrequited. girl????

Thinking about how Lara Jean walked on the lacrosse field to tell Peter she wanted to fake date him towards the beginning and ending the movie with her walking up to Peter on the same field to tell him how she felt so she could start real dating him.
