Morax tried, generally, not to encounter people during his cycles, heats were...less than pleasant, and the times he went into rut were simultaneously just as draining. However, he...was not used to this environment, at least, not yet. And this did not seem to bode well for others. Thankfully, most people he'd run into hadn't been someone attractive enough or...well, had smelled or looked nice enough for him to want them. And so other than maybe getting unusually snappy at people...he'd been fine.

And then...he'd run into the housewarden. He was sure it was bound to happen at some point, given his snappy behavior was not his norm, and generally the dragon Adeptus did his best to be friendly and cordial to people, and was even more so to fellow dorm members. His sudden aggression was concerning to anyone who didn't...recognize or know the signs of dragon mating cycles, like heats and ruts.

He'd...smelled...really good. And Zhongli knew immediately that he was going to be in a spot of trouble, his normally reptilian and thin pupils slowly rounding out as his lips parted, mouth dropping open. His dragon like features were out on full display, horns curving out of his head, tail moving behind him, lashing back and forth in almost hypnotic rhythm. And you could see the hints of the fangs of his teeth from his parted lips, and the tips of his fingers were clawed.

"Azul..." He rasped, looking strained, conflicted, worried, and yet also as if he wanted to take Azul for himself and eat him whole.

Twisted Wonderland: Dorm leaders in Genshin Impact Au

This is a ramble about how I can imagine and see the twst Housewardens/Dorm Leaders if they were in genshin. Hope y'all like my ideas, so anyway on with the show!

🌹Riddle Rosehearts:

The rule bound rose of the Lawrence clan~

For our prescious strawberry I can imagine Riddle being another poor child who was born into the Lawrence clan. A to be redeemer of the clan's fall from power, trained to harness his vision to strike back against the Knights of Mondstadt. An ever useful obedient child who has only grown up hearing the rules and misguided arrogance of elder clan members. Forcing him to be their perfect rose, a better heir than Eula could ever be. Especially after she left her family behind, Riddle's lessons and pressure was doubled from then on. But even as he suffered he gave no objection, these were the rules, and he was a Lawrence above all else and had to uphold their "honor."

As for his relationship with Eula, there is an edge of rivalry between the two mixed with an air of empathy. Riddle sometimes looks to Eula with envy at being so free in his eyes, but a part of him also deems it as foolish and a mockery of the clan. But even if he's so bound up in his lessons, maybe all the withered rose needs is a little push to finally grow free from those who would use him as no more than a tool.

🦁Leona Kingscholar:

The overlooked warrior of Natlan~

In this au Leona comes from a family with a long history of warriors, stretching as far as any of them can remember the family has always known a warrior's spirit. And for Leona, he too was a warrior, just as much as Farena in this universe. Both equally capable, but show their talents for warfare in different ways. While Farena was powerful and unyielding like a champion told in legends. Leona was a crafty warrior, using wits above his brawn to gain the same result.

Which while impressive, is not nearly as flashy or eye catching as his older brother. Leaving him in a shadow no scheme of his can overcome. And so he began to laze around, keeping his mind as sharp as any spear, but dejected beyond giving any effort. Even more so when Farena had a child, and so feeling even more eclipsed by a baby of all things, Leona left, deciding to go out in his own as an adventurer. Perhaps in this way, the lost warrior may carve out a legend for himself.

🐙 Azul Ashengrotto:

The Ruthless Master of Contracts~

In this au Azul is an interesting case, as you could guess our capitalistic octopus resides in Liyue, living as one of the faster growing merchants of the region. Publicly known for being such a kind and benevolent philanthropist, he's known all throughout the harbor of Liyue for helping all his clients with a pleasant smile for all their poor unfortunate needs.

But under the surface, he is more akin to a ruthless businessman, a Mafioso in a sense, holding contracts and other deals like a chain against all his clients. Gaining wealth and patronage for many people and even some business owners in the harbor. Trying to have a hand or tentacle in every pot. Often bringing the ire of the Liyue Qixing, always being watched and probed so they can unveil his wrong doings, but seemingly always escaping their grasp at the nick of time.

And like many people of Liyue, Azul was inspired by Rex Lapis, appreciating him and hearing of his stories and tales ever since he was a boy. But his view on contracts is more a corruption of what the Lord of Geo would view it. Instead seeing their power as a way of control and advancement for his own ends.

☀Kalim Al-Asim:

The wanderlust merchant of Sumeru~

In this au Kalim is still the son of a well known wealthy merchant family. Originating in Sumeru, they are known to trade and sell a number of things from all over Teyvat. Starting as traders of knowledge and later beginning to add more items to their trade, the Asims soon became so wealthy only the region of Liyue would be more wealthy than them. Whether it be texts of knowledge, or simple goods and fineries, his family has seen many of what each region has to offer. And so as a way to both teach Kalim about bartering and selling to people of all regions, the freedom, song and dance loving boy was sent out to explore and learn of every culture he could. To widen his world view and to make him less wet around the ears. And when he gained his vision from finally feeling free, Kalim rode the winds and did just that, travelling where ever he could, enjoying himself as he saw what the world has to offer. In a way, no longer feeling the weight of carrying his family's history on his shoulders. For once just being able to be Kalim, and experiencing all the things he didn't thanks to being rich.

As for I guess one of his favorite regions so far, i'd say he likes Mondstadt the most. It is the city of song and dance after all, and definitely up our sunshine boy's alley.

The Fairest in all of Teyvat~

In this au our queen of beauty is as much a model as he is in cannon, but hails from Fontaine as a sort of idol. The jewel of the nation so beautiful and graceful, even the Hydro archon herself would have to judge him as being worthy of bearing the title. For how else was he deemed worthy of bearing a vision. But if you were to ask vil, he would say he earned his vision as well as his status through his own tireless work and effort. The archons had no place in that process. And he'd continue to show the world the truth behind that very fact.

💀Idia Shroud:

The Craftsman of the Fatui~

For Idia, aka Mr SCP, in genshin I can see him being recruited to the fatui for his genius intellect in crafting inventions. They saw how well he built and let's say a certain doctor/Dottore saw him and wanted to make him his assistant. A second brilliant mind who pounced on seeing idia rebuild ortho. Saving his brothers life in the machines he had made. So with the good doctor taking him under his wings, idia despite himself was dragged into being a helping hand to whatever the fatui had planned. Liking it less and less the more he saw and received plans on what to build. Fearing for the months ahead more each day as Dottore's ruthlessness scars him more every time he sees it. Only finding a bit of safety with a ginger haired harbinger, who both wanted something challenging as well as appreciating idia for being a dedicated brother. Not to mention, often asking idia for a toy for a certain brother if hus to play with.

The Reclusive Dragon of Inazuma~

Rarity: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

In this au Malleus is a legendarily powerful dragon who resides in inazuma, a powerful and ancient dragon who has known both archons and were friends with each as they founded the region under their rule. For centuries malleus was a great, albeit sometimes introverted friend of the twins, helping with advice, or just simply just being a person to sit with and enjoy the silence. And for a while he lived with the humans, learned of their customs and became a loved figure. Even earning himself a few tales and stories in the process much to his amusement from mortal imagination.

But as is the lore of inazuma, soon tragedy struck, and one by one malleus saw friends and the mortals he once so loved die one after another. Only being remembered in songs and the distant thunderclaps from the shogun who mourned their passing. And with every death, so too did malleus stray from inazuma, only being seen with makoto and ei. But even makoto, the glue that was the last thing that held them all together had passed away in khaen'riah. Leaving him and ei broken. And seeing Ei hold herself up more and more, malleus left as well. Grieving in isolation, sometimes walking the streets of inazuma at night appreciating its changes while also feeling sadness for those who would not be able to see what had been made.

This is quite honestly, in Morax's humble opinion, one of the best ways to wake up. Holding really only second place to Morax waking before the mer and so he gets to make sure Azul gets not only tea, but a lovely breakfast (that's homemade and doesn't have anything that the mer could count the calories for) and getting to be the one giving a good morning kiss.

Although, Azul is sorely mistaken if he thinks the Adeptus is just going to let him slip away to drink the tea without giving him one in return, a happy trilling purr rattling in his throat as he chased him, hand finding the curve of Azul's head and neck and pulling him in to give him a firmer kiss, though not anything overtly that could lead to anything further.

"Good morning, my treasure." He rumbled, adding onto the affection as he caught a hand in his, lifting it to brush further kisses to the knuckles and the pulse fluttering against the inside of Azul's wrist.

Morax was a little surprised, blinking at Azul as he'd noticed the other acting a little more off than normal, and it kept pinging on his senses as Azul seemed almost distressed, which made his instincts want to both make sure nothing ever stressed him out again or hide him away where Azul didn't have to deal with whatever was making him seem off.

"Azul...?" He asked, tentative, incredibly aware of his mate's mental state.

Azul approaches Zhongli while he's sitting around reading and promptly slides himself into the Adeptus' lap before slipping his arms around his neck and pressing several kisses against his cheek.

Morax purrs, his arms coming to settle around Azul's waist once the mer has made himself comfortable in his lap. His book has been almost entirely forgotten now in favor of giving his mate attention and affection.

"Hello there, ài rén." He rumbled, the Adeptus turning his head so that he catch Azul in a more reciprocal kiss as he put them on his cheek, his tail wagging behind him through the spot that had been made for it in all his chairs.
