Me, a non-native English speaker, trying to figure out how to convey Davy's accent in written words:
#imagining his accent isn't the issue like I know how he sounds (and I am absolutely infatuated by it)#but HOW am I supposed to write that??#I think the thing about it is to find out which letters and syllables would make sense to an English-speaking person#in order to read it as that specific accent#I think I'm overall pretty fluent in writing speaking and understanding standard English#but these fine nuances can be a bit of a challenge#davy jones#pirates of the caribbean#potc#dead man's chest#scottish accent#language meme#writers' struggles
