How do you space an interior design plan?
At Reset Spaces, we believe that a well-spaced interior design plan is essential for creating a comfortable and functional home. With the help of our expert online interior design services, we make sure that every room in your home is designed to suit your style, needs, and lifestyle. Here’s how we approach interior design planning to get everything just right:
Tumblr media
1. Measure and Map
We begin by measuring the room and considering all permanent fixtures such as windows, doors, and fireplaces. This serves as the foundation for creating your personalized floor plan, either digitally or hand-drawn, ensuring that all elements fit perfectly within the space.
2. Zone It Out
Next, we define the room’s purpose. Is it a cosy family living area, a productive home office, or a peaceful space for relaxation? Understanding the purpose of the room helps us create zones for specific activities like reading nooks, conversation areas, or workstations. This way, every corner of the room is utilized efficiently.
3. Traffic Flow
We carefully consider the flow of movement in and out of the room. From entry and exit points to furniture placement and clear pathways, everything is planned to ensure smooth traffic flow, preventing congestion and maintaining an organized layout.
4. Function First
While aesthetics are important, functionality always comes first. With interior design trends in mind, we choose furniture that fits the space and serves its purpose. We avoid overcrowding the room, ensuring that it feels airy and open for maximum comfort.
5. Light It Up
Natural light is a game-changer for any room, improving both the ambience and productivity. We maximize natural light and complement it with artificial lighting solutions for task lighting, ambient lighting, and accent lighting. This layered approach creates the perfect lighting balance for any room.
6. Furniture Tetris
When it comes to furniture, we don’t just place it randomly – we carefully experiment with layouts. This allows us to find the best arrangement that maximizes the room’s potential and creates the ideal atmosphere. With interior design planning from Reset Spaces, we ensure the furniture is both functional and stylish.
7. Balance is Everything
A well-spaced room relies on balance. Through strategic furniture size, placement, and negative space (empty areas), we create visual harmony. The goal is to make every element feel purposeful, with enough breathing room to avoid a cramped, cluttered space.
8. Refine and Revisit
Design is an iterative process. We don’t settle for the first draft; we refine and revisit the design until we achieve the perfect balance of functionality, aesthetics, and optimal spacing. Whether we’re following interior design trends or your personal vision, we ensure the final layout works for you.
At Reset Spaces, we’re committed to making your homework for you through online interior design services that combine expert planning and thoughtful design. Whether you’re looking to update a single room or overhaul your entire home, our team is here to help you achieve your vision with ease.

A Long Time Coming

Natasha Romanoff x Reader
Word Count: 2.4K
A/N: This is from a heinous prompt from a heinous friend. It is silliness and then it is smut. It also uses a lovely prompt from @taylorswiftmicrofic for the 9th of January, which is 'jokes'.
Sometimes, when you were caught in a moment alone with Natasha, there was this spark.
Her tongue touching her teeth when she smiled her brightest. Her shoulder bumping yours in elevators. Her dry jokes as you made it through the hardest days.
There were other times too. Crumpled in the kitchen when the darkness got too much. Your hand at the small of her back. Her chin resting on your own shoulder as you gazed out at a world that would never be the same.
There was a spark. If you were honest, there were embers now. A gentle flickering in your lower stomach. A heat that burned gently.
A wanting.
It wasn’t on the table, not for either of you. Maybe five years ago, maybe before everything had fallen apart. Now your lives were about solving the world’s problems not your own.
Natasha was the bravest person in the world. She was efficient too. You’d barely wrapped your head around the possibility of time travel before Natasha had organised the task force to achieve it.
She was the bravest person in the world. That’s why no-one blinked when she volunteered first to save it.
She dressed in the futuristic white suit and stood in the designated place. She glanced at the others and then at you. Her tongue touched her teeth when she smiled wide, she gave you a thumbs up.
The complex machinery, that filled the room, hummed and sputtered.
And, then, Natasha disappeared.
The fallout took its time to be alarming.
The lights in the room flickered uncertainly for a few moments. You waited, trying not to think about Natasha being so far away, so out of time. You waited for Dr. Banner to press the button that would bring her back.
He pressed it at last. And then you watched his brow crease in confusion. He pressed it again. And again.
You started hyperventilating when it became clear.
So far away. So out of time.
Natasha was smaller than people realised. More fragile too.
Dr. Banner and Steve Rogers debated the technicalities of the situation for over an hour.
You paced the room, caught up with a need to search the world for someone you wouldn’t find.
Eventually, you heard them coming to a conclusion. It was her suit. The wires that crossed at the front of the chest, there must have been a fault.
You weren’t as brave as Natasha, you weren’t as efficient either. Still, you did your best. It took another hour for you to be suited up and ready for the hopefully simple mission. They were careful not to change any setting on the machine.
Theoretically Natasha had been sent back a decade to New York City. Theoretically that’s where you should be going too.
You were given a quick tutorial on removing the chest-plate from the suit and resetting the wires. If everything went to plan, it would be a simple rescue.
You didn’t bother pretending that it might be.
You stood in the centre of the room and listened to the machine begin to whir and hum. You closed your eyes and opened them somewhere new.
Green.
Your first and only thought as the colour overwhelmed you.
So much green.
Foliage like you’d never seen before. A sea of large fern plants that towered above you.
Definitely not New York City. You spun in a circle as you tried to assess your location. Maybe the rainforest? But surely the rainforest would have more rain and more forest?
Your eyes quickly scanned the landscape, a view of rolling hills that were covered in the strange vegetation that you could not place.
You heard a sudden noise to your left and startled.
Natasha Romanoff was barreling towards you. Dirt spattered her face. Her eyes were wide with uncharacteristic panic. Her bare arms were littered with scratches.
You blinked.
Her bare arms.
She wasn’t wearing her suit. She was barely wearing anything. Your throat tightened as you registered her sports bra and shorts. You didn’t have time to think before Natasha’s hands were gripping your arms.
Her heavy panting filled your ears as she leaned in.
‘Run.’ She said. ‘We have to run.’
You didn’t hesitate. Natasha’s grip on your hand was iron tight as she dragged you lithely through the undergrowth. You did everything you could to keep up and not fall over.
After a few minutes, Natasha finally slowed her pace. Her head swivelled around, ascertaining the safety of your new location.
Abruptly, she exhaled in relief. Then, she turned back to you and wrapped you in the tightest hug.
‘I’m so glad to see you.’ She muttered breathlessly against your shoulder.
You hugged her back, half relieved and half panicked.
‘Natasha.’ You started unsurely. ‘Where the hell are we? When are we?’
Natasha pulled back and held your face between her hands. You stared into her eyes, realising suddenly that her pupils were extremely dilated.
‘I don’t know how to tell you this.’ She said thoughtfully.
You braced your shoulders.
‘Just tell me. Get it over with.’
Natasha took your head and swivelled in 90 degrees. You stared in the direction she'd pointed you towards. You scanned the horizon and tried to understand what you were missing. Your heart leapt in horrible realisation. A giant tree, relatively far away. The tree seemed to be eating its own leaves. You blinked and tried to make sense of it. The tree moved slowly forwards.
Dinosaur.
Your mouth fell open in an ‘O’ shape.
You glanced back at Natasha. She was staring at your open mouth and wearing an expression you'd never seen before. You closed your mouth self consciously.
‘Oh my God.’ You choked out. ‘Oh my God.’
Natasha’s fingers dug slightly into your scalp.
‘I know.’ She breathed, her stare still intent on your lips. You stared at her in confusion. Her breathing was becoming rapid and shallow.
‘Natasha.’ You tried, wondering what kind of trauma could have occurred to make her this distracted. Her gaze glanced back to you. She chewed her lower lip and gave you a small smile.
‘Yeah?’
‘Where’s your suit?’ You asked slowly, feeling increasingly alarmed.
Natasha released your face as she waved her hand thoughtlessly in the air. Her cheeks were still flushed, even though you'd been standing still for several minutes.
‘Back where I landed.’
She gestured vaguely to her right.
‘Just next to the swamp.’ She paused with obvious disorientation then recollected her train of thought. She frowned. ‘It got all sticky.’
‘The suit?’ You checked, keeping your questions as simple as possible. ‘It got sticky from the swamp?’
Natasha shook her head. ‘No. It got sticky from this huge plant.’ Her hands echoed her words with a large gesture into the air.
‘Can you take me there?’ You prompted gently, holding her hand carefully in yours.
Natasha’s stare focused intensely on your joined hands. You squeezed her hand and asked the question again. Natasha’s eyes dragged themselves slowly up your body to meet your stare.
‘Yes.’ She said breathlessly, her thumb rubbing circles on the back of your hand. ‘But it makes me crazy.’
‘What does?’
‘The sticky stuff.’ She swallowed dryly. ‘That’s why I took it off.’
‘Crazy, like dizzy?’
Natasha nodded, a sudden look of panic in her eyes. ‘Yes.’ She lied badly. ‘Kind of.’
‘Kind of.’ You prompted gently, giving her hand another squeeze.
Natasha’s eyes darted wildly from your hands to your face, to your…chest.
‘Horny.’ She said breathlessly. ‘Kind of horny.’
Your mouth dropped into an ‘O’ again, and Natasha crossed her legs uncomfortably. She closed her eyes and took an unsteady breath. You promptly shut your mouth.
‘That must be… distracting.’
Natasha nodded slowly, and her eyes reopened with an obvious kind of longing in them.
You resolved to be decisive. To be professional. This was a mission. You tried to ignore the low burning heat that already lived in your stomach.
‘Well, we need you in the suit to get home.’ You told her seriously. ‘So let’s find it as fast as possible, and try to limit our exposure to whatever that sticky stuff is.’
Natasha nodded again, lips pressed tightly together. Her jaw ticked as her eyes wandered distractedly over your body again.
There was a concerningly loud crash in the distance.
‘Oh.’ Natasha murmured absentmindedly. ‘That’ll be the dinosaurs.’
Her free hand moved to your waist and you felt her nails dig into the firm fabric of the suit. Trying to tug you closer her.
You shook your head wordlessly and started leading her in the direction of the swamp and her missing suit.
Natasha walked obediently just behind you. You turned occasionally to check if you were still heading in the right direction. Every time she nodded, her stare never wavering from your ass.
You forced yourself to keep walking. You had to be the professional.
You noticed the foliage around you darken slightly, a sign of the nearby water source. You tried to keep your focus on the mission. On the very obvious and very real danger that you found yourself in.
You paused to determine your next path. Natasha's hands covered your ass and you pretended not to feel the light squeeze.
As you got closer to the swamp, Natasha started walking faster so she could be next to you. Her arm snaked around your waist again. You could feel the warmth radiating out from her. You could see it in her flushed cheeks. Every time you looked over at her, Natasha flushed harder.
Sometimes, you felt her hand wander downwards along your body. Carefully, you moved it back to your waist.
Eventually you came to a clearing. There were obvious signs that someone had been here before. Natasha’s eyes widened in recognition.  After a moment, she pointed to the far corner of the clearing. There, you saw the previously-white suit discarded on top of a small boulder.
You swallowed nervously.
‘The suit needs a repair.’ You told Natasha shortly, her arm still eagerly around you. ‘I’m going to fix it before you put it on.’
You tried to let go of Natasha as you walked over to the suit. But she clung determinedly on. You didn’t bother fighting it, aware now that the best thing to do was get you both home as fast as possible.
When you reached the suit, you saw it was indeed coated in a sticky golden substance. You crouched down and grabbed a nearby twig, using  it to scrape away most of the viscous liquid.
Then, you kept your focus steady, barely letting yourself breathe as you popped out the covering and repeated the repair instructions you’d been given by Dr. Banner. You tried not to worry about the stickiness that brushed against your fingertips.
You were putting the panel covering back onto the suit when it started.
An itching sensation across your body. An itching that soon became something else. A burning. Like a thousand sparks against your skin. Fireworks. You were burning. Wanting.
You were wanting.
Her.
You felt yourself shuddering. A sudden dryness in your throat as you tried to swallow. A sudden desperation. A cluttered mind.
‘Oh no.’ Natasha mumbled somewhere above you. 'Are you okay?'
You started panting. You couldn't remember words. All you could do was tug at her hand. The wanting was blinding.
Natasha crouched next to you. Your heart started pounding immediately.
You could feel the sparking electricity from her proximity. As if she was lightning and you were the perfect conductor.
‘Natasha.’ You murmured at last. You heard the obvious neediness in your voice. The wanting.
Natasha smiled widely as she took you in.
‘Oh, good.’ She half-moaned as she moved closer, filling up your vision and your world. You felt her hands tangling forcefully in your hair. You toppled backwards against the forest floor.
Somewhere deep down in the back of your mind, you wondered what kind of insects lived in the mud next to a Jurassic swamp.
Then, Natasha’s tongue ran along your neck and you forgot your own name. Her lips were on you eagerly. Her mouth was kissing and biting as she made her way to your mouth.
Natasha straddled your waist as her tongue entered your mouth. The kiss was long and slow. Then she pulled back, her arms reached over her head as she removed her sports bra hurriedly. You could feel her hips moving, as she tried to press herself against your body.
Automatically, your hand found its way between her legs.
Natasha groaned loudly as she enjoyed the immediate friction of your palm. She leaned forward, her arms resting on either side of you.
Your vision filled now with her breasts. They were bouncing as she moved. A heavy softness that made you tilt forward. Your tongue found her nipple, swirling eagerly over the sensitive area.
You felt the wetness through the fabric of her shorts. Your hand slipped under the material. She was soaking wet, coating your palm immediately.
You understood suddenly. Why she loathed her suit. Why she'd ripped it off. You felt your own hips buck desperately, hopelessly. You paused, trying to remember the way to take off the complicated garment.
Natasha’s hand tugged forcefully at your hair. Your attention flew back to her.
Her eyes shuttered closed with the nearness of her orgasm. Her hips bucked desperately against your bare hand.
‘No.’ She moaned selfishly, biting down hard on her lower lip as she continued to rock. ‘You can come later. Let me finish first.’
You obliged easily. Her breasts pressed themselves closer again and your attention returned to them. You kissed and licked and sucked. The heel of your hand pressed against her clit over and over. Your fingers moved inside her with the rocking of her hips.
Natasha cried out loudly when she came at last. Her eyes were squeezed themselves even more tightly shut.
You startled at the sudden sound, as reality crept briefly back. Then you laughed.
‘I thought that was a T-Rex.’ You told her stupidly.
Natasha smiled happily down at you. Her tongue touched her teeth. Her once braided hair was completely wild. Her breathing was shallow. Her body relaxed.
Her eyes were no longer dilated.
‘Mmm.’ She hummed in pleased thought, her hand trailing down your suit. ‘We should go somewhere with a bed. So we can do that again.’
.
Natasha was no longer the bravest person in the world.
You were.
You waited 97 million years for an orgasm.

4:08 pm Memphis TN / 1:21 Am Texarkana TX
Mahogany tables beneath bourbon walls and a black ceiling as Carl, the saint he is, pours sweet tea and recommends the dry ribs. He holds himself as a gentle man, moving slowly with a little extra weight on his left as he steps towards the kitchen to fetch more of the drink. Damn the sweet tea—tables full of that honey nectar, the water of the South—brought swiftly over worn hardwood floors that have known the feet of many joyous, dancing folk. Folk with soft voices that end each phrase in kind words and affirmations, folk that meet and hold a gaze loyally, just like a deer is loyal to the headlights of its end.
For a moment, I dread the harsh hiss of my peers in the West; anxious fools we all seem in comparison to these tender souls of Memphis. The land of B.B. King, the land of the blues. “See you boys next time,” Carl seems to sing as we step back to the road and begin again. Soon the sun has expanded until she floods everything in sight with a color just like that of the sweet tea. Train yards, groves of locust, drowned fields of soybeans, a sandy full moon low to the horizon, and suitcase towns all burn up in her hand as we fly west.
With time, the snow slips back into the landscape, and just past 10 p.m., we arrive at a deserted navy hospital perched above Hot Springs Arkansas. A thousand windows lay dark, like the eyes of some terrible creature of the sea. The building feels alive, restless to sit drained of the life and death that once filled its halls. Towns like this make me rejoice for my destination, and I swear I saw envy in the eyes of those bound to stay as we stopped for coffee and waffles—“just passing through” written all over us.
Now, an hour past the reset of the day, we stop to sleep in a Texas hotel “under renovation,” or so a greasy fox of a man says, as I am sure he has said each night for years now. I’m not sure how one could fix anything with the sad sum we cough up, and so I turn my head away from the missing drywall and stained mattress and write of the day’s unfoldings. Austin tomorrow.

Every Nightwing writer of the last fifteen years: I've taken the guy famous for being regarded as one of the most competent and capable nonsuperhuman heroes of his generation, literally legendary for being one of the only ones every single other hero would not only drop everything to go help but that also pretty much every hero would love to have on speed dial to get HIS help in most any situation ever, and I've either completely isolated him and estranged him from every single member of his family and community, or I've enmeshed him so thoroughly with his family and community to the extent that literally none of the stories in his solo title would be capable of existing without their presences, they're that fundamental to the arcs and more integral to the solutions than he is himself. But why stop there?
I've ALSO taken the guy famous for personally crafting his two most iconic superhero identities, Robin and Nightwing, with the first being made so fundamental and integral to the superhero landscape by him, it became one of the most iconic legacy mantles in the DC Universe. And the second being so larger than life and associated with safety and security and meaning so much to so many people that even complete strangers can not fathom a world without Nightwing anymore and rush to fill the void any time he's not around, the figure of Nightwing is considered that ESSENTIAL. And I've stripped him of his basic sense of identity and autonomy either as a literally faceless and nameless spy or a literally masked and nameless Talon or else taken away his memories or blah blah blah in myriad other ways made it impossible for him to BE the figure who famously turned his sense of identity into not one but two separate icons forever stamped onto the superhero landscape and leaving their marks in untold ways, because what is the guy famous for his sense of identity without....his sense of identity? Just a guy!
Haha! I've done it! I've deconstructed Dick Grayson!
Me: You literally the fuck have not. That is not how deconstruction works. NONE of this is how any of that works. You sound so dumb right now. What did you accomplish, what was any of it for. What insights did it deliver, what did it reveal that was previously unknown about Dick Grayson when he was in the costume or possessed of his usual skillsets that couldn't be known until all of that was stripped away from him? How was he changed by any of these experiences or was he just reset to his default mode at the end of each one and then shoehorned into the next contortion before any actual reflection upon or development from all the preceding events was made possible? What do we know about Dick Grayson, what is new about him, what essential Dick Grayson-isms have been woven into the character due to your work, or did you simply change the set dressings over and over while repeating the same beats and intoning, Huzzah, A Dramatic Transformation Happens Before Your Very Eyes!
Every Nightwing writer of the last fifteen years: No, see, I don't think you get it. My work was transformative. I proved that if you take away Dick Grayson's friends, his superhero speed dial, his memories, his acrobatics, his name, his agency, his literal everything that makes him who he is.....he's just some guy. All those things are what define him! That's who Dick Grayson is!
Me: Right. The friends and colleagues who would all drop everything to help him or pick him as their first choice to Phone A Friend when in crisis because....he's Dick Grayson. His memories of....being Dick Grayson. The acrobatics that are synonymous with....Dick Grayson. The agency that famously lets him rebuild a sense of self and formidable will no matter how many times he's been brainwashed or mentally fucked with because at his core, below the surface of all those manipulations he remains....Dick Grayson. His literal everything that made Robin and Nightwing who and what they came to be known for....because of what he, Dick Grayson, imbued those mantles with to make them iconic in the first place. Yup. You really nailed it. At the end of the day he really is....just some guy. Your insights are just stunning. Incomparable. The stuff of legends. Gosh we'll miss your work but it'll definitely forever be remembered in the Writing Hall Of Fame for being absolutely fundamental to the characterization of.....Just Some Guy, I guess?

"A tropical ocean paradise loved by divers for its colorful coral and fish and more recently by scientists for its unique marine life. With plenty of large and small fish, this is an ideal diving location."
Hi, I’m Catherine and this is my first Sims 3 world! My intention was to create a smaller world that can be used to play the Island Paradise expansion pack in a more compact way. (It’s technically medium-sized, but a lot of that is water.) I based this world on the area of the same name in the game Endless Ocean: Blue World, granted with quite a lot of creative liberties taken. Gatama Atoll is situated in the fictional country of the Pelago Commonwealth, which is in Micronesia.
Isla Paradiso is stunning and there are great fixes out there, but I still prefer to play smaller worlds for the sake of performance and convenience. So here’s a small world meant for boats, houseboats, resorts, lifeguards, merfolk and of course diving!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
While Gatama Atoll now features a town, the original area is still for diving, with 5 dive lots based on some of the areas in the game. On the islands surrounding the dive lots are small nature areas similar to those found in the original Gatama Atoll — you can find animals here.
Nearby is Nineball Island, a relaxing and homey place, ready for divers to move in and make it their hub of operations. This is also an area from Endless Ocean: Blue World.
The town features all the base game rabbit holes as well as a few community lots and the Festival Grounds, and empty lots for expansion. Additionally, there are houses situated right near the water, and ports for houseboats. The empty 64x64 lot is intended for you to build your own resort (or place one you downloaded), though of course you can place your resort elsewhere if you wish.
Like Isla Paradiso, Gatama Atoll has mysterious islands surrounded by fog, waiting for discovery. Only a few, though; one unlocked through diving, one through resorts, and one through lifeguarding (exact way to get each island will be included below).
Gatama Atoll requires Island Paradise, Seasons, Pets, and Sunlit Tides. I specifically made this world with blam’s ea store files, as my decrapped sims3packs did not work in CAW. Therefore, I believe this means you also need the Sunlit Tides store files to be non-decrapped in order to play this world. My recommendation is to just pick them up from blam.
This world definitely isn’t perfect, considering it was made by a complete novice. Here are some disclaimers:
The landscaping is relatively simple, both because of performance concerns and because I lack skill in this area.
The only lot I made is Nineball Island + I edited the houseboat. The other lots are all from Sunlit Tides or Isla Paradiso.
The world is also definitely on the smaller side and doesn’t have room for a lot of extra lots.
Also, you need to be farther out in the ocean to snorkel, you can’t be close to the beach.
The notifications when your sim levels up their diving skill are gonna say the Isla Paradiso diving spot names (e.g "Rocky Reef"), not the Gatama Atoll diving spot names. Please refer below for a proper guide on when you can access each diving spot.
This world was made in version 1.67 (Steam)
Required mods
NRaas register - with this mod, ban horses, unicorns, paparazzi and deer for a smoother experience. You don't want that stuff in this world.
Dive cave reset fix - I used one and only one dive cave in this world. With this mod, you need to reset that dive cave when you see it, just once. Please do not forget to reset the cave so that your sim doesn't get reset when trying to enter.
Interact on sloped terrain - The world is kinda curvy so I think having this is a good idea.
Recommended additions
Surf’s Up Sun and Fun Collection - so your sim can surf, and also have some cute CAS stuff.
Sun, Surf and Sand - cute beachy buildbuy stuff.
Island Villa - ditto^
Tiki dining room - tiki buildbuy stuff
Tiki living room - ditto^
Tiki outdoor living - ditto^
Yoga mod by twinsimming - for the tropical paradise zen.
Mermaid Power mod by xantak22 - improves mermaid gameplay.
4t3 Island Living conversions - look around for some if you need more buildbuy or clothes.
Feel free to do whatever you want with this world! I have no conditions. You’re welcome to tag me so I can see, too :)

A/N : I’ve literally been wanting to play Minecraft for so long but can’t find the motivation to play, and every-time i want to play, i have the urge to start a whole new world. anyways…you slightly rage quitting at Minecraft but matt being the sweetest <3
Tumblr media
The familiar pixelated landscape of Minecraft filled the screen in front of you, and your eyes were narrowed in concentration as you ventured deeper into a dark cave system.
Your inventory was filled with treasures you had worked hard to collect: iron, gold, and, most importantly, a handful of diamonds. It had taken hours of exploring to get this far, and you had even fought off a horde of mobs to secure these precious resources.
Your heart pounded as you navigated the narrow pathways, carefully placing torches to light the way and ward off any lurking monsters. The eerie sounds of the cave echoed in your headphones—creaks, groans, the distant hiss of a creeper.
You could feel your nerves building up, but you were determined to make it back to your base safely. And then you heard it—a faint clattering sound that sent a chill down your spine.
A skeleton.
Before you could react, an arrow whizzed past your character, landing with a dull thud against the stone wall. Panic set in as you spun around, trying to locate the source. The skeleton emerged from the darkness, its bony frame moving with precision as it pulled back another arrow. Your health bar dropped with each hit, and you felt the tension rise in your chest.
“No, no, no!” you shouted, your heart racing as you tried to block and retreat at the same time. You fumbled with the controls, your fingers slipping as you tried to eat something—anything—to regain health. The skeleton kept advancing, each arrow knocking you further into a corner.
You could hear the blood rushing in your ears, your vision focused entirely on the screen. The screen flashed red as another arrow hit, and your heart sank when you realized you had nowhere left to run.
One last shot, and your character crumpled to the ground, your inventory spilling out across the cave floor. The dreaded “You Died!” message appeared across the screen, and you stared at it in disbelief.
“No!” you yelled, louder this time, the frustration boiling over. “Are you fucking kidding me?! Stupid fucking skeleton!”
In a fit of rage, you threw the controller onto the couch, the soft impact barely satisfying as you clenched your hands into fists. It wasn’t just the game—it was everything.
The hours of progress lost, the carefully collected diamonds now scattered, all because of one stupid skeleton. Tears of frustration pricked at the corners of your eyes, and you took a deep breath, trying to calm yourself down.
From the other room, Matt had been minding his own business, scrolling through his phone when he heard your shout. His head snapped up, concern etched across his face. He pushed himself up from where he was sitting and made his way to your room, knocking lightly before pushing the door open.
“Hey, everything okay in here?” he asked, his eyes scanning the room until they landed on you—sitting on the couch, arms crossed, a deep frown on your face, your cheeks flushed in frustration.
You looked over at him, still fuming. “No, m’ not okay,” you huffed, gesturing towards the screen. “I died. I lost everything. Stupid skeleton shot me, and now all my stuff is gone.”
Matt’s eyes shifted to the screen, taking in the “You Died!” message still plastered across it. He tried to stifle a smile, but it was no use—he found your gaming frustration far too adorable.
He walked over to where you were sitting, plopping down beside you on the couch. “A skeleton, huh?” he said, nudging you playfully. “That’s rough baby.”
You shot him a glare, though it lacked real heat. “Don’t make fun of me,” you grumbled. “It’s just so annoying! I had so many diamonds, and now they’re gone. I don’t even know if I’ll find that cave again.”
Matt could see the frustration in your eyes, and his expression softened. He reached over, grabbing the controller you had tossed aside and holding it out to you. “Hey, listen. It’s just a game. We can go get more diamonds. I’ll help you. We’ll make it a team effort sweetheart.”
You looked at him, your frustration slowly beginning to melt away at the sight of his soft smile and the way his eyes crinkled at the corners. Matt always knew just how to calm you down, even when you were at your most irrational. It was one of the things you loved most about him—how patient he was with you.
“Fine,” you muttered, taking the controller from his hand, though you couldn’t stop the small smile forming on your lips. “But if we die again — I die again, I’m fucking done and not playing anymore.”
Matt chuckled, wrapping an arm around your shoulders and pulling you closer to his side. “Deal. But with me here, I promise you—we’re gonna be unstoppable.” He reached for his own controller, ready to join in. “Besides, I’m not letting any skeleton get the best of you. Not on my watch.”
You sighed, leaning into him as he selected his character, the two of you loading back into the game. The warmth of his arm around you and the way he rested his chin lightly on top of your head made it hard to stay frustrated for long.
He had this way of making even the worst gaming losses feel like nothing more than a minor setback, just another challenge to face together.
“Okay,” Matt said as his character spawned beside yours. “First thing’s first—we’re getting you some armor. Full iron, maybe even diamond if we’re lucky. No skeleton’s gonna stand a chance.”
You glanced up at him, watching the way he focused on the screen, his brows furrowed slightly in determination. The same boyish excitement that filled his eyes when he played video games was back, and it made your heart swell.
Even over something as simple as Minecraft, Matt always took it seriously—because he knew it mattered to you.
“You better have my back,” you said, your voice softening as you leaned your head against his shoulder.
Matt gave you a confident grin, his fingers moving deftly over the controls as he began to gather resources. “Always,” he said, his voice filled with sincerity. “We’re a team, remember?”
