Roleplaying night is coming back to Landroval in the Prancing Pony! This was the first attempt at meeting up together all again via the Landroval RP discord server! We had about 10 people all at once! It felt like old times! If you've never RPed in Lord of the Rings Online before, I highly recommend it! It's such a good time and the game works so well for it. If you're interested, hit me up in-game as Radrion or Turodhor (my most frequently played toon).

While still upset at losing my Lotro buddy(I really did want someone to adventure through where we'd act like explorers rather than just following the quest lines) so I ended up buying myself the river hobbit basic pack. They glide. Both of them are on Landroval. Dorothy(more to her name) is a potion maker, and used to own an apothecary. She likes messing with runes and making potions/using herbs for healing. Rosemary the lore master(more to her name) is more into cooking and food and wanted to own a bakery before her adventure began. I also made one on Gladden and tomorrow I might make another. Totally didn't make them because I am stuck and keep dying in Angmar *cough*

Welcome!

Ofthevales is a Lord of the Rings Online blog, featuring my two toons (info below!) that I have had since starting to play around a year ago. I play on the Landroval server. This is a side blog to my Tolkien multi-muse roleplay account @menelvagor.

Here, I will post info about my toons, fun with friends, screenshots, etc. Rannveig is the focus toon and one I will be roleplaying with. If you are interested to write with/learn more about her, she is also on my main account as a muse. If you are interested to interact in-game, let's do it!

Finnagin, Champion of the Elves, Envoy of Lorien.

The two meet up with Lorathalion many times a year to share stories of their travels.

The Next three are not as fleshed out as the rest.

Slyrie, Brawler of the Shire. Over time I might write little skits of these guys and gals, they take up a lot of my brain during LOTR season

After that poll with the "over 300 hours logged on a video game" bit I got curious about my LOTRO play time so I did the /played check on the ones I play the most...

That's on Evernight Lennidhren, who's at level 140. (There's also Landroval Lennidhren, who was around...85-ish, maybe, last time I played on that server?) If my math is correct that comes to almost 1393 hours logged in on my elven librarian lore-master.

Up next is Corbous, level 112 Hobbit Brawler:

So that should be about 286 hours of punching things. :-D (Also, he's that close to level cap and less than a quarter of the time it took Lenni to get there? Brawlers, man. Although of course I've been spending less time on underlevel quests with him and just moving on when quests in a zone turn grey because I've seen them before on Lenni anyway, after all. And I haven't done any festivals and such on him yet either, just zooming to Mordor.

Next highest leveled is Ianthina, level 53 high elf Runekeeper, the LOTRO incarnation of my Pillars of Eternity inquisitor past-life of Watcher Violet (as Corbous is the LOTRO incarnation of Vi's older brother Corbus Itzli...). Note how she's, you know, less than half of Corbs' level? Note how long it took her to get there:

Brawlers, man. In 286 hours he gets to level 112, and in over 330 hours my Runekeeper is just up to 53?

Let's take one more example...my high elf minstrel Fjiola (LOTRO incarnation of Fjóla Reinert who's a Pillars chanter/cipher for a PoE ttrpg we...may or may not ever get around to actually playing, but it's been a while since I first started making her) got to level 35 before I discovered the magic of speed-leveling a Brawler and abandoned her until Corbous, like, single-handedly punches Sauron or something:

So a bit over 31 hours...For a total of over 2000 hours logged in just to the four characters I've played the most overall and recently on one server. I should probably revisit my Landroval and Crickhollow (formerly of Nimrodel...er...I think Crickhollow was where that server got merged to long ago?) and see what their play time was like, too, but anyway. It's a lot. I've been playing since about half a year after LOTRO launched except for a few years when I burnt out on Landroval and didn't play until more recently on Evernight. I guess this does confirm that I chose wisely to buy my lifetime subscription to this game back when they still offered those...I think I've gotten my money's worth after more than 2000 hours! :-D

Your character art is just gorgeous! If it’s not an odd thing to ask, how did you end up meeting your current cast of RP buddies? (Former LotRO RPer who’s been way too anxious to do anything for ages but is considering trying again sometime)

Awww thank you! and not odd at all.

I've met my rp friends over on the Landroval rp discord, which is linked below :) It's pretty big but it's also really quiet (which is more comfortable imo) But through them I've met various rp kinships where even more rp planning goes on. In the server itself there's channels for event notifs and individuals looking for rp that helped me find people too.

And welcome back to the lotro rp scene if you do decide to try again! Yeah its pretty intimidating (and hard to find these days since no one rps at the Pony hardly anymore) at first but I promise its so much fun when you find the right group of people for you (its become half of my lotro time lol) If you do decide to get back into it you're welcome to rp with any of my characters! And I'm sure my friends would love to as well :) Here's the server if you're interested in the Landroval scene.

And not one but two of my characters: Growli and Hazelwoode, have reached Moria. A Balrog...this foe is beyond any of you. Run!! They are both looking around Moria. Hazel of course (being slightly snobbish) hates it, it's dark and she wants to go home. She would curse out Bingo if she weren't so polite. Growli on the other hand finds it fascinating and fun and loves it. She wants to keep exploring, looking for gems and trying to help Bingo too but there's just so much SHINY to look at for her.
