I feel like. If Y'shtola was in a relationship, the person she's in a relationship with would be the last person to know. Those close to Y'shtola, like Thancred and Urianger, would see the signs. "Oh she regularly smiles around you? I see, things must be pretty serious." type vibes. Y'shtola is the kind of person that feels very very intensely but does not emote any of it. She's passionate and driven because she has very strong opinions about how things should be and will act to make them so, but she doesn't really display that she's feeling one way or the other, so she gives off the appearance of being cold or just obstinate.

It's a combination of just naturally being low affect and also being very goal oriented and focused. She doesn't have time to emote, she has problems that need solving. She's about to cast a spell that will probably kill her and one of her friends, at best she apologizes to her sister for causing her distress. Mourning the death of one of her best friends is unproductive, there's work to do. The man she lived with for three years and has become the one person she's comfortable with physically touching her gets "I have to keep my promise to him" as she works herself to the point exhaustion and collapse in order to see him again. It takes a near death experience and nearly losing all of her friends to even get close to crying, and her voice cracks for all of 2 seconds before she's back to her usual stoicism.

Trying to actively court her will have little to no success. She cannot be wooed by traditional means. If you want to get in her good graces, you have to work with her. You gotta give her space and contribute meaningfully to her goals. Her idea of a romantic getaway is a research expedition in which you share several long academic conversations about everything you both saw that day over a hearty meal before going to bed in separate rooms.

So I got DRV3 on a recommendation from a friend, but I've been putting it off for a while cause of the minigame right at the start. Specifically I realize the point is that you're supposed to give up to continue the story but knowing that it's beatable makes me refuse to give up out of spite. I'm both relieved and saddened to know that the rest of the game seems to have related problems.

Definitely recommend it, lotsa fun and has a lot of famous historical figures fighting similar to Fate (even has a few characters in common)

Here's the numbers

22. If you could turn one game into movie, which would it be?

Well, this is assuming it'd be a good movie, because video game movies are ass, but if we live in an ideal world in which the movie will be made by people that care and love the OG product, a rarity since people in the film industry are a tad too addicted to the fragrance of their flatulence and think themselves better than video games as a whole... I think Killer is Dead would make a pretty damn fun grungy film. I want it to be accurate to Suda51's vision: It doesn't take itself too seriously, it's focused on being Fun First And Foremost, and slaps our clits off with that GOOD action and fight choreography.

25. Proudest accomplishment in gaming?

Ah, I already mentioned two! Let's see, a third one...

Oh! Well, no one except the other 4 surviving Armored Core: For Answer fans worldwide will get this one, but I 100% cleared that game, S-Ranked every mission in Normal and Hard. That's pretty damn tough!

54. A sequel you really want?

Oh, this one's fun.

Bloodborne, lmao, but okay let's go for one that's not so easy.

I'd like a spiritual sequel of Angels of Slaughter/Satsuriku no Tenshi, actually. Something with that vibe, that oomph, that wickedness, you know? I really love what it did and in the way it did it.

1 - Favorite game and why?

Bloodborne, hands down, with Sekiro as a close second place.

I love Bloodborne's genre shift from more conventional gothic horror to cosmic horror and the way it approaches the eldritch, the level architecture and use of shortcuts are some of my favorites, and I adore the gun parry system. Nothing hits like the gun into visceral riposte combo.

2 - Favorite NPC

Lunar Princess Ranni, easy. No other character across the franchise has had me as fascinated and compelled to know more as Ranni did in her questline, the pacing of which is solid enough to stand alone apart from the rest of Elden Ring. It helps that she appeals to a lot of my preferences; cute witch with big hat, extra arms, revenge quest, gets things done, etc.

3 - Top 3 bosses

Hmm, a very tough call...Lady Butterfly (Sekiro), Slave Knight Gael (Dark Souls 3), Old Ivory King (Dark Souls 2)

I'm a huge fan of boss fights that are very simple tests of your ability to do The Central Mechanic, and Lady Butterfly is a superb example. I remember beating my head against her for hours and feeling the switch click into place as I realized "wait a minute, this isn't Bloodborne or DS3, it's Punch Out".

Slave Knight Gael is a visually incredible and engaging fight that serves as a beautiful capstone for the Dark Souls trilogy both narratively and mechanically, in addition to Gael himself just being really cool.

Ivory King gets special mention because of how involved the whole zone is in the build up to the actual showdown itself. Exploring the Frozen City, freeing the Ivory Knights, taking the plunge together and fighting off the Burnt Knights as your squad sacrifices themselves to seal the gate until the Burnt Ivory King himself enters the fray. It's all wordless but just hits.
