I Feel You Linger in the Air Ep 7 Stray Thoughts
Last week, Jom and Yai began their romance officially, and we saw further evidence that Jom's drawings are connected to the time travel or dimension hopping experience. Yai took Jom to a gay speakeasy, where James came out and expressed his attraction to Jom. Yai got jealous and turned a bit petty with Jom for a bit. However, the two had a beautiful moment where they agreed to try this. I really hope James doesn't betray us, because I liked him encouraging Yai to step up for Jom. We also confirmed that Euangphueng and Maey intentionally brought Fong Kaew to the house to distract Robert, and that Robert may be involved in the fire that killed Fong Kaew's dad and scarred her mother.
I am glad I saw a post earlier giving context that the poor women being murdered here are based on real people. Tee always has something to say about the real dangers queer people face in their lives, and it's a tense warning at the beginning of this relationship between Jom and Yai.
Unsurprisingly, the parents are anti-gay as their two queer kids suffer in front of them.
I already know this party is going to involve pairing Yai with a girl as a way to further secure the dad's power.
At least Jom has some sense.
Yai basically described what Fong Kaew is going through with this short story.
There goes Lamyai clocking them, and she's a gossip.
I have thoughts about them introducing Nuey last week, who cannot hide themselves, and Yai now being unable to do so now that he's connected with someone.
It's a good thing that Jom stood up for Prik. He has an ally who also cares about Yai to tell Lamyai to hush.
I find myself worrying about windows and sightlines a lot this episode. Euangphueng and Maey are having a moment and I'm worried that someone will see or hear.
I suspected that Maey has survived some horrible things, and this is as horrible as some of the things I imagined.
One of the things this show is getting right about existing under homophobic is the constant sense of surveillance hovering over you. Robert represents that so clearly.
Oh, sensual oils. This is promising.
This use of both mirrors with Jom out of focus is driving me insane.
Big fan of the little bit of stubble they keep showing on Yai.
Jom was loyal to Ohm. It's probably been a while since he was intimate with someone.
Intercutting the massage with Jom masturbating is one of the most erotic things I've seen that wasn't overly sex since ITSAY episode 3. The way this was shot and scored clearly indicates that they both came, or at least Yai was close.
As much as I like seeing Nonkul and Bright do sensual things as their characters, we gotta get Jom out of here. He comes from an era where he isn't a slave.
Guide is absolutely crushing this role as Ming. He has built incredible chemistry with Nonkul.
There's something private about the way Nonkul smiles that draws me in every time. Bright has a similar thing with his brows.
Yai is running around making mistakes while Lamyai is running around righteous.
And now Uncle Dech caught them, and immediately went to Yai's dad.
Even Ming, the fan favorite, is struggling with his friend being queer.
Oh, Ming, don't confess when you're drunk.
And there's the pairing Yai with a girl part of the party I expected.
Now why the hell are Euangphueng and Maey running off now? I'm gonna need all of the gays to get it together.
Absolutely obsessed with the possibility that there is a picture of Jom that survived to the modern era.
Yai, my dude, you cannot abandon the heteronormative rituals so publicly like this if you want to protect Jom.
Thinking about O'Shae Sibley, who was killed for voguing as these two dance outside.
I am not immune to BL fantasy sequences involving dances.
Why...are we rapping?? What in the Marty McFly is happening?
I am not immune to boys making out in the rain.
Okay, that horny want in Yai's face, and Jom nodding yes? They are about to fuck for sure. This is about to go south so quickly.
Yep, gay turmoil begins next week, but we may get some nice love scenes first.
That was a fantastic episode. They really balanced the danger of being outed with the inherent need to connect that bubbles over in all of us. I felt the fear for everyone's safety, but I actually really like how badly everyone was hiding this week. That's basically the point. You can't win. The only way to be safe in the closet is to be perfectly quiet and alone. You cannot have anyone if you want to be undiscovered. Two people can keep a secret if one of them is dead. Like Nuey last week, Yai and Jom cannot hide. There's no amount of careful that can hide the warm feelings between two people. This was perfectly executed.

Nang Kwak
Nang Kwak (Thai: นางกวัก) is a spirit or household divinity of Thai folklore. She brings wealth & prosperity. Nang Kwak is a benevolent spirit. She is deemed to bring luck, especially in the form of money, to the household. She is the patron Deity of all Merchants and Salesmen and can be seen in almost every business establishment in Thailand.
Thai people like to have a figurine or cloth poster (called a Pha Yant,or Yantra Cloth) of this goddess in their home or shop, where it is often placed by the shrine. Some people also wear amulets with her figure around the neck, which is a logical development, due to the fact that many people in Thailand must travel around to sell their wares, which makes a portable Nang Kwak amulet the obvious choice for such a person.
Legends
Although Nang Kwak is more a figure of popular folklore than a religious deity, there are Buddhist legends that seek to incorporate her into the Buddhist fold.
One Buddhist legend presents Nang Kwak as Nang Supawadee. About 2500 years ago, before or during the time when Buddhism was beginning to spread, in the small town of Michikasandhanakara, in the Indian province of Sawadtii, there was a married couple, Sujidtaprahma and his wife Sumanta, who had a daughter named Supawadee. They were merchants who sold small amounts of wares on the markets, only earning just enough to maintain their small family from day to day. One day, they were discussing their hopes and dreams for the future, and decided that they should try to expand their business to make more profit and begin to think of being able to save something for their old age.
As a result of this conversation, they decided to try to afford to buy a gwian (cart) in order to use to travel with and sell their wares to other towns and villages. They also then brought wares from the other towns to sell in Sawadtii and Michigaasandhanakara when they returned. Sometimes, Supawadee would ask to tag along for the ride, and help them. One day, as Supawadee was helping her parents to sell wares in a distant town, she was lucky to be able to hear a sermon by Phra Gumarn Gasaba Thaera; she was so convinced and moved by his sermon, that she took refuge in the Triple Gem. When Gasaba Thaera saw her faith and devotion, he collected all his powers of thought and concentration, for he was an Arahant, and bestowed blessings of good fortune and luck in salesmanship on Nang Supawadee and her Family.
Another story tells of Nang Kwak living on a higher plane of existence: Nang Kwak was the daughter of Pu Chao Khao Khiao, meaning ‘Grandfather Lord of the Green Mountain’ (Khao Khiao). Pu Chao Khao Khiao was a Lord of the Chatu Maha Rachika realm (one of the lower levels of Heaven - an Asura realm of giants and pretas). His other name is ‘Pra Panasabodee’, and he is the Lord of the forest and places where wild plants grow. In that time, there was an Asura demon called To Kok Khanak (also known as ‘To Anurak’). To Kok Khanak was a good friend of Pu Chao Khao Khiao, who had been attacked by Phra Ram (the hero of Ramakien, Thai version of the Ramayana), who had thrown a Kok tree at him which pierced his chest and carried him through space to be pinned to the side of Pra Sumen. In addition, Pra Ram cursed him with the following magic spell: ‘Until your descendants weave a Civara monks robe from lotus petals, and offer it to Pra Sri Ariya Maedtrai (Maitreya the future Buddha) your curse will not be lifted.’
After this, Nang Prachant, the daughter of Lord Kok Khanag had to serve her father, spending the days and nights trying to weave a Civara robe from lotus petals, in order to have it ready for offering to Pra Sri Ariya Maedtrai who will descend to become enlightened in a future age. Meanwhile To Kok Khanak had to remain cursed and pinned to Pra Sumen and his daughter was in a dire situation without her father to help run things. Since she had to spend all her time weaving the Civara, she had no time to sell things or make money, nor time to run a shop. When Chao Khao Khiaw heard this, he felt compassion and sent his daughter Nang Kwak to go stay with her. Because of her merit, Nang Kwak caused merchants and rich nobles to flock to Nang Prachant’s home and bestow gifts of gold, silver and money on her. Nang Prachant became wealthy and led a comfortable life.
……………………………………..
Palakkik
Palakkik is a small / portable amulet in shape of male sexual organ. It’s believed to have power of Magic Charm, protection, and much more. Palakkik came to Thailand possibly over 1000 years ago from the trade route between South India and Suwannaphoom (Thailand’s western coast line). Palakik is derived from small Shiva Lingam that Hindu men from the south of India hid in their *dhoti for fertility, protection from danger and harm, and bringing good luck.
*dhoti, long loincloth traditionally worn in southern Asia by Hindu men. Wrapped around the hips and thighs with one end brought between the legs and tucked into the waistband, the dhoti resembles baggy, knee- length trousers.
……………………………………..
Yant U or Yant Unalome
Yant U or Yant Unalome, unalome cabalistic writing represents the path to enlightenment in the Buddhist culture. The spirals are meant to symbolize the twists and turns in life, and the straight lines the moment one reaches enlightenment or peace and harmony. The dots at the end of the symbol represent death, or the moment we fade to nothing.

.................................................
Pra Tha Kradan Gru Wat Ton Lamyai
Pra Tha Kradan is a type of ancient amulet made from lead alloy, and the halo flame on top of the head of Buddha is long and bent. Pra Tha Kradan was firstly discovered at Wat Tha Kradan, Kanchanaburi Province in BE 2460 (CE 1917) and it is called Pra Tha Kradan ever since. Pra Tha Kradan was later discovered at Wat Tha Kradan Nua, Wat Tha Kradan Tai, Wat Tha Kradan Klang, Wat Taywasangglaram, Gru Khao Chonkai, Gru Lan-tom, and Gru Wat Nong Bua in Kanchanaburi Province. The ancient Pra Tha Kradan was dated as The U Thong Style is one of the definitive styles for Buddha icons which developed in Thailand (Siam) in the southern capital of Ayutthaya. There are three distinct periods for the style, (12th to the 15th century CE). The ancient Pra Tha Kradan is rare and valuable. It was made from raw and unheated lead pebble, then hammered the pebble in an iron mold to shape the Buddha, this would leave hammer marks in the back of Pra Tha Gradan amulet. Pra Tha Kradan is called “Yod Khun Pon Hang Maenam Mae Klong” means “The Great Warrior of Mae Klong River”. Pra Tha Kradan is one of the “Pra Benjapakee Pra Choot Yod Khun Pon Nua Chin” which means one of the set of 5 (lead alloy amulets) powerful amulets for the Great Warrior General. The Pra Tha Kradan is best for Kongkraphan Chatrie (it makes you invulnerable to all weapon attack), Maha-ut (it stops gun from shooting at you or the shooter misses the aiming target).
Pra Tha Kradan Gru Wat Ton Lamyai was made in BE 2536 (CE 1993) by Luang Phor Wat Ton Lamyai (Pra-kru Kanchanakittasan), the abbot of Wat Ton Lamyai, and after the Blessing / Consecration Ceremony which was attended by Luang Phor Koon of Wat Ban Rai, Luang Phor Pare of Wat Pikul Thongม Luang Phu Lew of Wat Rai Tang Tong, Luang Phor Utama of Wat Wang Wiwekaram, Luang Phor Poom of Wat Phai Lom, Luang Phor Huat of War Don Pho Thong, Luang Phor Lamyai of Wat Thung Lat Ya, Luang Phor Lek of Wat Khao Din, and Luang Phu Yam of Wat Sam-ngam. This Batch of amulets was stored in the chamber of a Chedi (stupa) at the front of the temple of Wat Ton Lamyai until the chamber was opened on May 31, BE 2550 (CE 2007) on Visakha Bucha Day. And the second Blessing / Consecration Ceremony was held on June 2, BE 2550 at the temple of Wat Ton Lamyai attended by 1080 Buddhist Monks.
The material
Pra Tha Gradan Gru Wat Ton Lamyai was made from raw lead pebbles collected from Lan-tom Mine in the Lam-tom Cave, and the ancient Pra Ta Kradan amulets discovered in Kanchanaburi Province were made from the lead pebbles from Gru Lan-tom mine. Today Lan-tom Cave is preserved underwater of Srinakarin Dam.
The styles of Pra Tha Kradan Gru Wat Ton Lamyai.
There are 3 sizes, the large-size with the dimension of 4.40 cm high and 3.00 cm widest. The medium-size is with the dimension of 4.00 cm high and 2.60 cm widest. And the small-size with the dimension of 3.70 cm high and 2.30 cm widest.
There are 2 Pim (styles), the first and the early Pim is with hammer marks in the back. This style was hand-made at the temple by putting lead pebble in an iron mold and hammered with iron hammer, and it would leave hammer marks in the back of the amulets. Another pim is with circular marks in the back caused by hydraulic pressing machine, this 2nd style was nott hand-made by Wat Ton Lamyai, but the temple sent the molds and the raw materials to the amulet factory to make.
