Wild as Her
I took my eyes off the road for an instant, just to look at her. She was beautiful. And she had no idea. The coastline flying by out the window behind her was the perfect backdrop. Her hair danced around her face in the wind. Her eyes flashed in the sun. She was a wild one. And I loved her.
My eyes drifted back to the road as my thoughts drifted back to the night we met...
*
It was another busy night behind the bar. Girls were ordering cosmos and lemon drops, while their men downed Coors by the bottle. When the orders finally slowed, I looked up to get my bearings.
There she was. Across the room. I had never seen her before. She was dancing with her friends. It was hypnotic, they way she moved. She danced like no one was watching, and she was good.
My coworker Will must have seen me looking, because he chuckled. "Take a shine to Cheyenne, did ya?" I blushed and looked down at the bar, wiping up a spill that wasn't there. "Be careful Corey, she can't be tamed, that one." I kept swabbing that spot on the bar, but I looked back up at her. Cheyenne, I thought. Why would anyone want to tame her?
The rest of the night was a blur, but I looked for her at every lull. And at every lull, she was still there. All hips and fire. Untamed. Beautiful.
When things finally slowed and our bouncer hollered "Last call!" I looked up one more time, hoping to catch a parting glance. She was gone. I sighed. It stung more than I cared to admit.
"Hi." A soft, melodic voice startled me out of my reverie. I dropped the glass I was polishing. It shattered as it hit the ground. Smooth Corey. Real smooth. It was her! Cheyenne!
"Hi," I croaked, my throat suddenly parched. Be cool, be cool! "Can I get you anything for cast lall?"
She smiled. "You mean last call?"
Facepalm. I smiled, even though I was internally kicking myself. "That's what I said."
She laughed, and I knew the melody would drift through my dreams. "I think tonight..." her eyes drifted over the lines of bottles behind me before coming back to mine. "I'll just do a whiskey, neat. Whatever's in the well."
I winced. Our well whiskey wasn't great. "That's gonna burn like fire," I said.
She winked at me. "I like fire."
*
My eyes opened slowly. It was still dark out. The clock on my nightstand flashed 4:43. The night before was a blur. I tried to piece together my memories. Cheyenne. Dancing. Last call. I didn't want her to drink alone, so I took a shot with her. Then another one. And another. She had leaned across the bar to whisper in my ear...
I shot up out of bed as the pieces fell into place. She had come home with me. I looked down at my empty mattress. Someone had definitely spent the night. Or most of it. When had she left? I puzzled. WHY had she left? The other half of my comforter was all bunched up. The extra pillow had a dip in the middle, where someone's head had been. And in that dip was a note. See you tonight. ❤C
A huge smile broke across my face. I wasn't scheduled to work tonight, but I would be there.
*
I agonized over what time to get to the bar. Should I get there early and potentially wait all night? I thought. Would that make me look overly eager? Or should I get there right at last call to try to take her home again? But would that send the wrong message? Ultimately, I got there right as the sun was setting, about halfway through the night. I walked in and scanned the dance floor, but I guess it was still too early for dancing, because it was mostly empty. The bar, however, was hopping, so I made my way over. I grabbed a stool at the end and ordered a beer from Will, who sauntered over to me grinning like the cat that ate the canary. "How was your night last night, buddy?" he drawled.
"Fine," I smiled. The details were still a little hazy, but I had a feeling it had been a very good night. "Uneventful."
"Bullshit."
I smiled and shrugged. Then I brought my brows together and leaned in over the bar. "She left super early," I confided. "Like, before the sun rose."
"Awww, man. I'm sorry, brother. But I did warn you. She's a wild one, not prone to sticking around or settling down." He shrugged and straightened up. "At least, that's what I've heard."
I frowned, but didn't say anything. Girls were more than a little complex. And why would she leave that note? I wondered.
"Well," Will slapped the bar. "That beer's on me, to help nurse your broken heart. But the next one's on you. Holler when you're ready for it." He walked back down the bar to help another customer, leaving me to my tangled thoughts.
*
I was on beer number three, watching folks dance when someone plopped onto the stool next to me and asked, "What do you say? Wanna put them to shame?"
I stiffened. I would know that voice anywhere. I looked over. Cheyenne! She was smiling up at me. "Well?" But she didn't wait for my answer. She pulled the beer out of my hand and set it down on the bar. Then she grabbed my other hand and pulled me onto the dance floor.
"I, uh..." I stumbled over the words. "I don't know if I can put anyone to shame out here. This isn't exactly my element." I could only hope I didn't look as nervous as I felt.
"Oh honey, that's okay. I just want to have another good night." She winked at me, then placed my hands on her hips, and circled hers around my neck, like we were at a high school dance.
When my heart rate finally slowed down I said, "I missed you this morning. Thought maybe last night had been a dream."
She laughed--God, I loved that sound. "Was it a good dream?"
"The best."
She leaned in and kissed me on the cheek. I knew I was grinning like a fool, but I didn't care. We stood there and swayed until I lost track of songs. Until the bouncer hollered out, "Last call!" And even then we stayed locked together.
When they finally kicked us out of the bar, we left holding hands. I saw Will giving me a thumbs up out of the corner of my eye. We meandered through the parking lot to my truck.
"So..." I started.
"So...?" she asked.
"Do you wanna--" I don't know where I was going, but before I could utter another syllable, she put a finger on my lips to stop me.
"Corey, there's something you should know about me," she said. "I'm not looking for the white picket fence sort of life. I don't want to settle down. I don't want to stop living. There's so much more out there that I want to do, want to see, and I don't want to lead you on if that's not the life you're looking--"
This time I put my finger on her lips. I looked into her deep brown eyes and could have sworn I saw the highway unwind before us.
All I said was, "Would you like some company?"
*
I blinked. Just like that, I was back in my truck, Cheyenne next to me. Wild. Free. The ocean breeze drifting through the car brought her to life in a way nothing else could. As she looked back out the window toward the coast, I heard her singing along to my beat up radio. Then the breeze turned into a gust that carried the song away.
I took my right hand off the wheel to rest on her knee. She looked back at me and smiled, placing her left hand over mine. I loved the way that the gold band sparkled in the sun. I thought a little diamond would be nice, but she was adamant: no diamonds.
I grinned. This amazing woman was mine. I squeezed her knee as I kept driving down the coast. We didn't have a destination, because wherever we are, wherever we go, that's where she calls home.

Date night with Daichi
A?N: You guys today was the first day I didn’t have a request to work on (which I love requests so much so that’s not a bad thing that I work on them they make me happy) and I also didn’t have work which was really weird, I ended up writing three different pieces today so expect some Kags, Tsukki and maybe some Suga coming up! If you have any questions or comments (no concerns sorry I don’t want to be taken down for doing something I like) message me or comment...sorry for it being long enjoy
Imagine
Warnings: fluff
You were excited, more than excited, you and Daichi were going to go on a date tonight. It was the first time the two of you were going to go out in a month. You have been working hard between your clubs, school work and your job at the bakery and Daichi has been working hard at volleyball and studying. The two of you would study together after he got done with volleyball but you would only stay together for an hour or so. You would also talk briefly before and between classes but the two of you were needed from your respective groups so even that didn’t last long. The two of you wished that you could spend more time together but it was so hard, you both were so busy and so you promised each other that at least once a month (you tried for twice a month) the two of you would go out on a nice date and just enjoy each other.
Today Daichi had practice until five and you had work until 5:30 so you planned on meeting at Daichi’s house at around 6 and heading right out to the date.
You planned your Saturday around this date, you showered and did your hair before you went to work and you put your makeup bag and outfit in your locker when you got to work so that the two of you could head out faster. Your shift seemed to fly by and Daichi wished he could say the same about practice. The team had three long practices in a row and he was just excited to see you. When he got off he sent you a little “practice is over, can’t wait to see you”
Once you were off you changed in the bathroom and practically skipped to Daichi’s house.
When you got there you knocked at the door, no answer, you tried knocking again and there was nothing. So you tried callhim him and it went straight to voicemail. You knew he was home and would have already showered because that’s always the first thing he does. You wait a couple more minutes before deciding to open the door, this isn’t uncommon for you to do, usually when you two have a date at each other’s house you just walk in but you thought that he would be ready and the two of you would just hit the road. When you entered you saw his shoes by the front door so you at least knew that he was home.
“Daichi, hello,” you call unsure of where exactly he is.
You pass through the living room and go peek in the kitchen, nothing. You also didn’t hear any water running so you knew he couldn’t be in the shower. You peeked around and lightly knocked on his bedroom door in case he was getting changed. Nothing, still nothing. You decide to push the door open only to have your heart melt. Daichi was laying on his bed completely asleep. He was dressed up in jeans, a navy t-shirt and a jean jacket and even had a bouquet of flowers next to him. You just stand there for a moment and take in the sight before you and just let your heart melt. You pulled out your phone and took a quick picture of him because it’s not often that he looks so peaceful and it’s adorable. Then you decide to take off your shoes (which you only were still wearing because you thought this would be a quick in and out) and crawl into bed with him. You move the flowers and go lay right by him, you start running your fingers through his hair and he instinctively moves closer to you. He ends up wrapping his arms around you and resting his head on your stomach. He smelled like his favorite cologne and you couldn’t help but breathe it in and smile. You can’t be upset with him because he really was trying to go on your date together but was so exhausted from practice that he fell asleep.
You were so comfortable that you ended up falling asleep there too, you’d had a long shift and his weight and warmth was comforting.
“Y/N”
“Y/N, babe wake up.”
You open your eyes to see Daichi sitting up next to you rubbing the back of his head.
“Sorry for falling asleep, I totally ruined tonight,” he sighs looking at you .
“You didn’t ruin tonight, what time is it?” You smile at him.
“It’s almost seven, our dinner reservation is definitely cancelled now.” You can tell that he’s beating himself up over this, he just wants one nice day with you a month, and this month he ruined it. “Heyyy Daichi, babe,” you reach out and rub his arm, “I don’t care about going somewhere nice, I just care about being with you.”
“But I like treating you and making it feel special because we don’t get to do this often. I don’t like letting you down.” “Daichi you haven’t let me down at lall so stop being sad about it and let’s go get some food.”
He couldn’t help but smile at you, you always knew how to make him feel better and just make his heart melt. He is so used to being the one incharge and making decisions that it’s nice to have you do it for him as a change. You scooch closer to him and ruffle his hair.
“C’mon goofball I’m hungry, let’s get pizza so I can sit here and admire your pretty face longer.” Daichi is blushing at you now, “but you got all dressed up to go out.” “No, I got dressed up to see you and remind you how pretty I am. I can dress up like this any day but I don’t get to see you look like this everyday.”
You couldn’t describe it but something about the way Daichi was dressed and the way he smelled was just intoxicating to you, but the real beauty was his glossy eyes and little pink blush. Daichi usually looked pretty hard and tired  and always had himself together. Something about seeing him refreshed with his hair and outfit messy from sleep was something you didn’t want to take for granted.
You ended up ordering a pizza and the entire time you waited for it to come you sat in his lap kissing him and telling him how pretty he looks. You couldn’t help yourself. He was literally perfect to you and it just made you so happy to see him happy.  After pizza came and the two of you had eaten the roles were reversed. Daichi was hovering above you on the couch kissing you and telling you how much you really mean to him.
After the cutesy kisses Daichi flipped you over and just held you in his lap.The two of you talked about how practice went, where the next game is, where you think the team should go out to dinner, why you can’t stand your new manager. Everything, the two of you caught up on everything in each other’s lives.
It wasn’t the date night you planned for but it was the date night the two of you needed. You were both busy and getting to spend time as just the two of you with no agenda was absolutely what you needed.

'The Scales That Bind’ - A Breath of the Wild Fanfiction
Chapter 2: Give & Take
As the wagon wheeled along the magnificent bridge that crossed atop the mighty waterfalls of Zorana, Lall made sure to keep his head down and his eyes up, still skeptical of this place and its people. He turned to his cousin, whose body was shivering worriedly as he pushed himself tight against the back of his seat, eyes wide open, clutching the one invoice they had left to his chest as though he were deathly afraid. Lall's lips curled up humorously as he peered over the edge of the bridge, shaking his head with bemusement.
"You're never supposed to look down!" Lall grinned.
Jarrol turned his head toward him slowly, one wrong move sure to send him to his demise, "E-Easy for you to say, c-cousin! You kn-know I'm not one for adven-ture!"
"What adventure?" Lall shook his head dismissively, "We're just going from point A to B, on business no less. Rather boring if you ask me."
Having never left his small village along the plains of Hyrule, nor his job as a apothecary, Jarrol was nonetheless shaken by the foreign feeling of being high above seemingly bottomless pits of roaring waters, his cousins assurances doing little to calm him. He'd always been far more comfortable at a desk than out in the wilderness, where there were troubles that elixirs could not mend.
"Still," Lall grimly muttered, "I'd keep an eye out."
He checked his bodyguard, making sure he wasn't about to be subjected to some malice, though Link merely continued walking, almost as if not hearing the two of them at all. Lall's lips curled downward as he leaned back into place, shaking his head as he started understanding, perhaps, this bodyguard's intentions in coming along.
"Ohhhhh…" Jarrol moaned sickly, wavering queezily as his squinted eyes peered up toward the heavens, noticing the dull sky above, "They're even content with living beneath all these mountains- they hope to steal the sun away from me as well…"
He shivered as he returned his attention to the bridge ahead of them, his eyes shooting open as a small, blue-bodied creature scampered their way, Jarrol's body instinctively falling against the back of his seat as though having been confronted with a wild boar. The Zora child's feet sent a rhythmic pitter-patter into the air as he slowed his run, his eyes widening as well at the sight of strangers. He slowed to a walk, with only his head raising to follow the eyes of the human watching him, the Zora's mouth gaping open in awe of the sight, despite the Hylian's perceived fright.
In a split second, the Zora child grinned before raising his arms and ejecting a childishly loud, "Rawr!"
"AH!" Jarrol shouted, jumping back against his cousin, who only burst into laughter at the sight.
The child snickered before breaking into a run once again, skittering along the bridge back toward the mainland where the wagon had previously come from, Jarrol sliding back into his seat as he clutched his chest, breathing deeply, "Was it your sister's intention to have me killed?!"
Lall chuckled heartily, "One can't know such things, dear cousin. Please, though; if you might embarrass us once we arrive, cover yourself with a shawl or something- we're more or less representing Hylia itself with how little these people interact outside their borders. If they think we all scare as easily as you, who knows what might come of it."
"Oh, yeah," Jarrol nodded sarcastically, wrapping himself in the shawl beside him anyway, "The creatures who live hidden from the sun most certainly want our lands. You know how much of my business comes from shipping out that jelly Zora's use to cover themselves with? I have no financial reason to want people ill, that's for sure."
Lall threw his head over his shoulder, examining their wagon-load of supplies, "You didn't happen to bring any with us, did you?"
"One or two cartons," Jarrol explained, "I figured I might could sell some while we were here. Why?"
Lall chuckled, "Just on the off chance we're bartering for our lives, it'd be nice to have stock of something they'd want."
Jarrol buried his face beneath the shawl so as to hide his expression, though Lall smirked at what he could still see of his cousin's shaking head, "You're the worst, cousin…"
Turning to his bodyguard, Lall spoke up, "It's all in fun, good sir, I assure you."
Link did little more than nod.
"Well, we're coming up on the main landing of Zora's Domain," Lall explained, reaching down for the invoice that remained desperately clutched within his cousin's hand, "You said you'd done this before?"
"Yes," Link answered, distantly, "They know me well here."
Lall nodded, "Alright, I'll hold you to that, then. I apologize if I'm unfamiliar with their customs."
Link turned a blank face up toward him, "Just don't stare too long and you'll do just fine. They aren't able to wear much clothing because of their skin, so they're wary of outsiders doing such things."
"I didn't- Ah, that explains earlier," Lall confirmed, stroking his light beard.
Link's face remained unchanged, "They'd do much worse than me."
As he finished, Link's gait increased as he approached the guards who'd already been alerted to their guest's appearance. Lall smoothed out the invoice before yanking at his horse's reins, slowing them to a stop as Link and the guard approached him, Lall catching only the latter part of their conversation.
"-and I can leave them in your care?" Link finished.
The Zoran guard nodded, though Lall spoke up, "H-Hey! I thought I hired you to-"
"You didn't hire me," Link muttered, interrupting him, before turning to leave further into the Domain, "Tovar here will ensure your safety."
Lall went slightly pale at the mention of the tall Zoran guard who nodded at being mentioned, "Okay, well- Here's the invoice. The King wanted to make sure you were all well considered when it came to this last harvest- such a major surplus that hadn't been seen in years, apparently."
Tovar nodded as he ran his eyes down the list, "Alright. and what's that contraption beside you?"
Lall turned to find his cousin, still hidden, shaking up a storm as he sat there.
"It looks like it's about to explode or something…" Tovar muttered suspiciously, leaving Lall to frown unhappily.
He reached an arm around his cousin's shoulders and pulled him against him, "Not at all- this is Jarrol, my cousin! He's just, uh… Well, he's considerately placed himself beneath this fabric here, it seems."
"Uh huh," Tovar nodded slowly, "You won't take offence if I should keep an eye on you, correct?"
"Not at all!" Lall exclaimed, "Your home, your rules."
Tovar gave a final nod before turning back, waving the wagon along as Lall slapped at his horses, signaling them to move along, hearing Tovar's voice above the clopping of hooves atop the pristine platform they trailed upon, "Good to see you've arrived in due time. My liege has prepared a return shipment of the finest sea life for you to return with- I'd hate for it to go bad on your way back."
"O-Oh," Lall replied, unsurely, "Not- Not at all; I'd hate for that as well…"
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Atop one of the Domain's sleekly ascendant pathways, two crimson legs dangled above the rest of this place, gently rocking back and forth, both pairs of toes daintily pulling in and out in a rhythmic sort of pattern, in time with the gently high humming from above where Lady Mipha's head swayed, side to side, her eyes listlessly staring down at the book in her hands. She had a pencil cupped between the book and her hand, mulling around words in her mind as she hummed musically to herself, recalling a tune her mother would often sing when she'd been taken to the peaks of Zorana to bathe in the sun, an activity that would often render her sleepily lazy as she curled up atop one of the rocks she'd decided to warm herself in. Her mother would stay by her side, keeping watch, and lulling her child through endless dreams.
Mipha would often hum this tune at times of distress or depression, often using it as a means to calm herself, quelling much anything that found her heart in need of comfort or assurance. In this case, her birthday was barely days away, yet there were two people absent from the festivities that would soon take hold of the Domain. It might not have been her first birthday without her mother, yet it still tugged on her heart whenever any big event would take place- her mother was often the fairest and most grand of all the Zora, and her absence was sorely noticed by all, particularly her family.
She pulled her pencil to the page, her lips pulling to one side in bitterness as she finished her thought, "…at least my dearest brother hasn't known this sorrow."
Sighing gently, she closed her diary, putting it off to one side as she reached her arms behind her, reclining slightly as she stared up toward Polymus Mountain, thinking of her younger days that seemed so far away now. Inevitably, those memories would nearly always include the other person whose absence she greatly missed- that of the warrior boy, Link, she'd first admired as a child and had grown to love as he'd grown older.
Her lips curled upward in a gently mischievous grin as she recalled the days before that first arrival of his where she'd fallen in love with him. She was presumed to be wedded to a rather prestigious Zora, and although she hadn't many qualms about this arrangement, she recalled the rationale that tortured her in those days before she saw that Hylian again.
"If he's taller than me this time…" she mused to herself, laughing as light as a Princess might be expected to sound in politeness, "…only then will I allow my heart to be his."
Of course, as soon as she'd found out about this particular development, she hastily, yet delicately, removed herself from her original suitor; though, to be in love with a Hylian, while not principle frowned upon, it was all but unheard of when it came to Zoran royalty. The two would go on to be perceived as good, strong friends, yet behind the scenes, the two had grown far closer.
It was due to this that Mipha's heart fell this day, nearing her birthday without her dear knight. That grin from earlier dissolved, following her eyes' lead as her brow furrowed in sadness, thinking of Link with a wistful heart.
She turned to reach for her diary, her heart nearly pouring sadly from within her, though her hand was met with nothing but the metallic sheen of the Domain's staging, her head slightly turning to allow her eyes a chance to find her book, though in a split second, they jumped up toward the man standing nearby, leaning against one of the platform's spires with his hands in his pockets, a knowing smile shown beneath his golden hair.
"I wouldn't let your height dictate my love for you," Link spoke, shrugging boyishly, referring to the gentle words that had managed to leave Mipha's lips just moments earlier.
Her eyes broke open with a blinding speed as she hopped onto her feet, leaping across the platform to eliminate their distance, the two of them embracing the other tightly, with Mipha's adoration breaking free of her throat, "Link! You made it!"
"Of course I did," he smiled, running his arm up and down her sleek back, "I just needed a reason to get away from my King's direction- he's been pretty strict about getting everybody ready and willing after that Akkalan thing. I caught wind of a shipment coming this way, so I made myself its bodyguard, and here I am, right on time."
Mipha's head pulled away, though their arms remained wrapped around one another, "A shipment? Will you be here for three days?"
Shrugging, Link answered, "I'll come up with something to stall for time. They don't seem like two guys who'll shy away from a festival, so maybe they'll just hang around. I'll give your father my word of their trustworthiness."
Content with his explanation, Mipha rushed to bury her face into the crick of his shoulder once again, too hasty to catch her head brushing against Link's neck, causing his body to shiver as his knees dipped, his head falling against her as he spoke up through a ticklish gasp of chuckles, "Ah, cold as always."
Shocked, Mipha pulled away, though Link's arms prevented her from doing so, her face quickly opening in fright, "S-Sorry! I didn't mean to-!"
"It's fine, it's fine," Link assured, pulling her closer, "I was just surprised, is all. It hasn't stopped us from holding one another before, has it?"
Mipha frowned, "Someone might think you'd get smart and find somebody who conflicts less with your biology."
Link's head fell closer to her's, their eyes meeting as he spoke, "You have a heart, just like me. That's all I need to know. That, and I know you can handle polearms better than anybody in this world; I know you can protect yourself. What makes you think I would have continued coming here if not for-"
As he spoke, Mipha's face had slowly turned and pressed itself against his chest, her grip around him tightening at his attempts at flattery. Link paused and merely held her, silently, continuing to rub her back with his arm, his thumb zig-zagging along her side as it went. A gently hum escaped Mipha as she remained that way, Link's warmth fully encompassing her in this way, her body readily accepting his offer.
"I love your warmth…" she murmured almost sleepily, "I missed it so much."
Link could only smile, "I kind of missed sharing it, to be honest."
Her eyes opened into narrow slits, peering off into the distance as she now pressed her cheek into his chest, "It's not as warm as the sun, but…it's different. Something you can't get from any Zora."
With nothing in the way of a reply to such a statement, all Link could offer was a quick kiss atop her sleek head, simply allowing her to take from him the warmth he was all too ready to share with her. It was something in the way of the physical that the two could partake in, and as such, it was something they both, especially Mipha, enjoyed.

[Bel's staring at themself in the mirror, leaning over the bathroom counters. Their sweater is laid down on the surface, threatening to fall to the ground. Pink, mothlike wings hang from the spaces in their open-back shirt, far too small and far too unkempt. Someone knocks on the door]
[Come on in, I'm not doing anything.]
[Bel slips their jacket back on, obscuring their wings, just before Lualle enters the room]
/Bel, are you okay?\
[..Who am I, Lalle.]
/Bel is your-\
[Bel waves their hand, cutting off Lualle's sentence with a small huff]
[No my memory's fine that's not what I meant I just mean- As a person, who am I?]
[Lualle pauses for a moment, staring at Bel. Bel's gaze does not move to meet his friend's]
/You're.. my friend. And a father, and... whatever you are to Dialbur. You're compassionate, bold, kind.\
[Barely feels like it.]
[The two fall silent for another moment. Bel rests their head in their pawlike hand]
[Do you ever wonder if the person you are around people is who you actually are? If one day, you'll wake up, and you'll just be different?]
[If who you are is limited to what you've experienced, and if it never happened, you just... wouldn't be the same?]
[Lualle sighs, placing her gloved hand on Bel's shoulder. Bel's eyes finally the mirror, turning to look at her.]
/Bel... what brought this up?\
[Bel turns back to the mirror again, slumping over to bury their face in their arms. Lualle moves her hands to the space underneath the wings, respecting Bel's choice to keep them hidden while still trying to be comforting]
[I don't know... a lot's going on, I guess]
/Well, if you ever need to talk, I'll be here to try.\
[Silence falls between the two for a moment, before Bel laughs, dryly]
[What did I do to deserve you?]
[Lualle smiles. It's one of her faint smirks. Barely noticeable, but caring, and genuine]
/I ask myself that about you all the time\

The Altan Tribe
The Altan Tribe is a newly formed Xaela tribe composed of the refugees rescued during Prime and Prejudice: Flesh. During their pilgrimage to the replica Ward Engine, they were fed a substance with the colour and texture of hoarfrost. Those who ate too much of it found themselves turned to thralls of the entity within the engine, marked with golden horns, scales, eyes and hair.
The Altan members did not consume past a certain threshold, so only their eyes and hair have turned -- and their minds remain their own. Following is a brief look at the eight-man group who showed up at the Agency and participated in the recent friendly melee!
RISHI ALTAN
Tumblr media
Fond of food and fun, this axe-bearing Xaela is the largest out of the group -- yet far from the smartest. He is not unintelligent, but is prone to making horribly awkward decisions and speaking a bit more quickly than he thinks. Yet, the man is affable enough under normal circumstances, and likely the easiest out of the group to strike a conversation with.
_____________________
ANJU ALTAN
Tumblr media
The smallest in the group, Anju's size is not to be used as a measure of her worth in battle. The shieldbearing Xaela excels in holding her ground, and will not hesitate to defend her new tribe members against against an enemy of any size. She revels in the thrill of battle, and is always up for training and sparring. Combat is her life...yet, she is a friendly, reveling sort. Great at bonfires and parties.
_____________________
LALL ALTAN
Tumblr media
Bearing a cane and elemental abilities of moderate skill, Lall has been designated the healer of the group. He cares deeply for his new tribe -- and his fellow envoy member Danita specifically, who he has grown rather close to. He remains astonished at the potency of magic in Eorzea, and wishes to learn more.
___________________
SARA ALTAN
Tumblr media
Sara, alongside Anju, is another example of the deceptive nature regarding female Au Ra stature and beauty. The sweet exterior is a forge to an internal fire that burns bright with passion and intelligence. Her analytical and critical nature makes her perfect for the magical arts. The young woman would make for a grand arcanist -- but only thaumaturgy was available to her in her tribe. She wields it well, assisting her friends in battle with the support of fire, ice, and lightning. Sara can be a bit tunnel visioned at times...but never on the field of battle. She enjoys sweets with a fervour she shall never admit to her fellows.
___________________
SAYEH ALTAN
Tumblr media
The youngest of the group, Sayeh wields a spear with considerable skill. The young man is open to new experiences of all kinds, especially in the realm of food and drink. One can often find him staring at a landscape and muttering to himself how beautiful it is. Paintings intrigue him as well.
_____________________
DANITA ALTAN
Tumblr media
Danita Altan is a skilled dancer and archer. The young woman has a passion for climbing and is said to be able to stick to sheer walls like horn glue. Prideful almost to a fault, she values the skills of others and champions teamwork over the individual during battle. She also values Lall quite a bit, however clandestine she may try to be about it.
____________________
MADEO ALTAN
Tumblr media
Madeo serves as the leader of the envoy -- the others seem to respect and enjoy him. The man's calm and understanding nature is naturally given to diplomacy -- but he is skilled enough with his knives to resort to contingency when diplomacy fails. He speaks Eorzean common the best out of the group, and has learned to read and write in it. Perhaps the oldest out of the group of youngsters, he very much enjoys gardening and snacks.
____________________
IONI ALTAN
Tumblr media
Rishi once commented that 'Ioni was more manly than even he,' to which young Ioni responded by breaking his nose. She elaborated by establishing that she was manlier than no man, because to be a woman was something far greater. Ioni is fierce, proud and fun-loving. While a little slower than most, she has a genuine desire to learn, even if the pace of it can be excruciating. She chooses to fight with her fists, under the firm belief that the body is the most powerful weapon of all.
_________________
There are many, many more members of the tribe, but these are the eight who particular Agency members were offered the opportunity to get to know better during the melee.
