HOW do you get that like texture in your digital art and choose your colors

thank you for appreciating and asking! i did both artworks using this brush called chisel tip marker (my program is infinite painter) and i got a pen pressure pen that's why i can control whether im gonna leave behind texture or make it solid. im pretty sure most programs have a marker brush, it's just a textured marker brush

as for the colors, it became like that with the help of blending modes: overlays, multiply + soft light (shadows), and vivid light (lighting). i really went badonkers with choosing the colors here but most of the time i like having blue green or yellow-orange as the light color and violet with a hint of pink hue for shadows (really just go crazy with choosing colors). i used a lot of hue shifting which is pretty cool to make artworks look interesting. for example, i drew his clothes with the base color blue, i used blue green for the light, pinkish violet for the reflective light, and dark violet for the shadows, pretty neat and fun to use bunch of colors ahah. keeping track of saturation is important to catch attention too, here i did his axe very saturated so that it somewhat has contrast. and lastly, just keep adjusting your colors to your liking! imo coloring in digital is easier since you get to control the colors of your artwork to your own liking.
