Devastated Lakshya Sen takes solace in Deepika Padukone's support after the Paris Olympics agony
Lakshya Sen created history by being the first Indian male badminton player to reach the Olympics semifinals. However, his adventure ended in despair when he narrowly missed out on winning a medal. After losing to World No.1 Viktor Axelsen in a nail-biting semifinal, Sen faced Malaysia's Zii Jia Lee in the bronze medal match. Despite his greatest efforts, he was unable to secure the victory, leaving him with a remarkable fourth-place finish but without the coveted medal.
Tumblr media
Sen expressed disappointment during a conversation with Humans of Bombay. "After the match, I was devastated." "It will hurt for a while that I was unable to give India a medal at this Olympics," he said. Sen admitted that there were parts of his game that he might have improved, particularly in those crucial final seconds.
Prakash Padukone's harsh love: A coach's candid comment Sen's coach, the famous Prakash Padukone, did not hold back from expressing his disgust. Padukone told reporters that Sen has to take responsibility for the loss and come back stronger. "He surely could have received a medal. I understand he is young, but he cannot use this as an excuse. "Take responsibility and work harder," Padukone said, encouraging Sen to refocus and prepare for future problems.
Deepika Padukone’s unflinching support Despite the criticism and disappointment, Sen took solace in the unwavering support of his coach's daughter, Bollywood star Deepika Padukone. Deepika, known for her loving and encouraging nature, contacted Sen during the bronze medal match. "Even after the match, she called me and said, 'It's okay; don't worry. You did well. Prakash sir has been a mentor and father figure for me. "It's always nice to talk to them if I need advice," Sen said, emphasizing the Padukone family's beneficial impact on his journey.

Alasan Laki-laki Menangis
Viktor Axelsen atlet tepok bulu peraih medali emas Olimpiade Tokyo 2020 itu kini lolos lagi ke final Paris. Tampak usai memenangi laga semifinalnya kontra Lakshya Sen, pemain India, ia menangis di lapangan ungu.
Tangisan pemain tunggal unggulan Denmark ini mungkin dipertanyakan, sebab kemenangannya mudah diprediksi. Axelsen memiliki rasio menang hampir 80% selama karirnya.
Di hadapan awak media ia mengutarakan alasan air matanya tumpah, “A man like me must show emotions, because I'm very passionate about what I'm doing.”
"If men can't cry, what world do we live in?" Kata Axelsen.
