Congrats on 700 followers!!! 🥳🙃 for the drabbles could I have Malec + 22 (for situations) and 20 (for sentences)? 💜
I’m SO SORRY this took so long I had literally NO IDEA what to write 😭😭 (also this turned angsty and NOT the good kind, so, uh, proceed with caution ig) (takes place in COFA, the night after Malec return from their vacation)
———————————————
Jealous + “Don’t tell me what to do.”
“We need to talk,” Magnus said as soon as the door to the apartment fell shut.
“There’s nothing to talk about,” Alec muttered mutinously, sitting on the couch and pulling off his boots. He paused when Magnus’s frame appeared in front of him, and looked up to see his boyfriend towering over him, glaring down through hardened amber eyes with his arms crossed.
Alec shoved his now removed boots aside and leaned back into the couch, crossing his own arms and looking up at Magnus. “What do you want to talk about?”
“Oh, I don’t know, how about the part where you made a scene in the institute about my supposedly hundreds of exes,” Magnus said dryly.
“Well I still don’t know if they’re in the hundreds or the thousands, now do I?” Alec returned in the exact same tone.
Magnus turned his eyes up to the ceiling, muttering something under his breath before looking at Alec again. “What’s your problem?”
Alec turned his gaze away, a little taken aback at being asked such a direct question.
Magnus seemed to have taken note of his silence, because he sat down next to him on the couch and asked, again, “Is it because our vacation was cut short?”
Alec remained silent.
Magnus sighed. “If that’s the case, I’m sorry for ruining our vacation, again-“
“It’s not about the vacation, Magnus,” Alec nearly snapped, a note of exasperation slipping into his voice.
“Then what?” Magnus asked in a tone that was both mildly annoyed and pleading at the same time. “What is it?”
“It’s-“ Alec paused, the words freezing in his throat, and tried again while rubbing the bridge of his nose. “I don’t know, okay?! I just- I just hate that you’re always so secretive all the time! You could’ve at least mentioned, before we left for the institute, that Camille was your ex-girlfriend. Maybe I wouldn’t have looked like a jealous fool in front of everyone, then!”
“You looked like a fool?!” Magnus demanded. “Did you even see the looks your mother was shooting me?! If anything, I was the one who looked like a complete asshole of a boyfriend, Alec-“
Magnus abruptly shut his mouth with a snap, turning away. Alec hesitated a moment before looking directly at him, and found him staring at the ground with a frown etched into his face. Alec had never seen him so disrupted and uncomposed before.
Before Alec could say anything, however, Magnus spoke up once more.
“I think it’s better if we sleep on this, first,” he grumbled and stood up. “We can talk in the morning. Come on, we’re going to bed.”
“Don’t tell me what to do,” Alec snapped. “You said you wanted to talk about this, didn’t you? Well, we’re talking.”
Magnus looked at him, his jaw set. “Not like this. Look, I just don’t want either of us to say something we’ll regret.”
“Right,” Alec said dryly, and resisted the urge to roll his eyes. “I completely forgot that you have two-hundred times the experience I do. So sorry I’m not the expert in this relationship.”
Magnus’s gaze slipped away, and he stared hard at the floor for a moment before adding, “And I think it’s better if we slept separately tonight.”
“What?!”
Alec goggled at him, wide eyed, but before he could say anything, Magnus disappeared into the bedroom, shutting the door behind him. The living room was suddenly too intensely silent for Alec’s taste. He’d never felt so lost in this apartment before.
A few moments later, a blanket and pillow, along with one of Alec’s sweaters materialised on the couch next to him. Alec slumped into the cushions for a moment, staring at the items for what seemed like a long time, before begrudgingly removing his tuxedo and pulling the sweater on. He left the tux on one of the armchairs, and with one last longing look at the closed bedroom door, mixed with a sort of dread and sorrow cutting into his heart, lay down on the couch and threw the blanket over himself.
It was the most fitful, sleepless night that Alec had ever had.
And yet, when he woke up from the few hours of sleep he had managed to catch in the early hours of the morning, it was to the smell of sandalwood lingering in the air and Magnus’s arms wrapped around him.

The Project International: Nai Harn Hotel, Phuket
Tell us about the scope of the project – what it entailed, how long it took, how much it cost?
It was an 18 month project from start to finish, during which time we completed renovation of the hotel including rooms, public areas, restaurants and pool. It’s such an iconic hotel and we are delighted to have taken it over. It is with a strong sense of responsibility we have done this and we will be respecting the heritage of the resort as well as looking to the future with design innovations that will make the most of its incredible location.
Importantly too we will be fully embracing Southern Thai art and culture and bringing it into the resort experience both inside and outside of the resort so that guests can feel relaxed, inspired and engaged by the history and natural context of the destination.
Have you ever worked on a hotel renovation before?
Yes, the company owns a brand called Manathai and we renovated our hotels in Phuket, Khao Lak and Koh Samui. They are beautiful lcoations and each has its own distinctive feel and sense of location. We work to give each property a sense of locality, and authenticity and keep their own individuality as much as possible.
What were the hair-raising moments, or major challenges?
The biggest challenge by far was to ensure we stick to our initial timeline, which we met, on schedule to open on December 28th, as on some days during monsoon season less work could be done due to the weather conditions. It was a challenge for sure, and certainly something that had to be carefully managed as much as possible.
During the build process, how many people were working on the project?
At peak times we had over 700 workers on the project – so it’s been fairly full on. But we are seeing the results of our hard work now and it feels incredible.
What is your favourite part of undertaking a project such as this?
To be involved from the planning phase until the execution and then finally see the end product, and hearing the fantastic feedback from guests – that’s the real reward.
What is you background in hospitality, in detail?
After graduating from high school in Germany I obtained a degree in hospitality management. I then worked in various management positions in hotels in London (Savoy), Switzerland, Germany (Kempinski Berlin) the Middle East and Thailand (Sukhothai Bangkok, Laguna Beach Resort Phuket) .
What made you become an ex-pat to move your career to Phuket?
A job opportunity as GM came up 8 years ago and since then I have been in Phuket. I have really come to appreciate the culture here, the warm and gracious nature of Thai people – it’s a lovely place to live.
Tell us about the team – how many people working at the hotel?
We started with our pre-opening phase back in March when we hired our GM and over the months the team grew and we are currently employing 170 staff.
Tell us about the interiors of the hotel, what inspired the designs, what are the rooms like?
It’s set on a tropical hillside rainforest opposite Promthep Cape, and offers a great deal of privacy – it is rather serene here really. There are 130 guest luxury rooms and suites – these are the largest sea facing hotel rooms on the island. All oversized guestrooms overlook the Andaman Sea, dotted with islands and sailboats, and are designed to open up the whole room, including the bathroom space, to the view outside, with a four-poster daybed on the terrace providing the perfect vantage point.
Every detail has been considered from the designer bathroom products, private barbecues on the terrace and beach-side butler service. There is a ‘press for champagne’ button on the terrace – as a special amenity. There are freeform sculptural furniture and art pieces throughout which add texture throughout the resort while high ceilings and glass façades seamlessly work to integrate the beach and sea outside in a celebration of the environment.
Tell us about the food experiences available?
With a total of six dining experiences for guests from the all-day dining restaurant to the 50-metre rooftop deck and destination dining, guests can choose from a lavish selection of Thai and international dishes, including fresh seafood and bold gourmet creations.
From the resort’s main restaurant, Cosmo, to stylish Rock Salt at the water’s edge, each dining venue has been carefully designed to capitalise on the stunning views. We are delighted to welcome Kevin Jean Fawkes as the culinary director of The Nai Harn – his background is impressive to say the least. He worked in the great British kitchen of Anton Edelman at the Savoy Hotel London as well as stints at cutting edge restaurants by Sir Terence Conran, Gordon Ramsay, Jason Atherton, Albert Roux and René Redzepi.
His culinary journey also includes stops in Asia, Europe and the Middle East with luxury hotels including Raffles, Kempinski and Rosewood, not to mention his work at the recently named world’s best restaurant, Noma. Rock Salt will be Chef Fawkes’ signature playground, which will feature dishes showcasing cuisine from around the Asia-Pacific region. Separate menus for lunch and dinner with seaside classics, innovative tapas and everything in between – all served right at the ocean’s edge.
At lunch, the focus is on Thai modern classics and international favourites, including wood-fired pizzas, tandoori baked seafood and market seafood display from the Rawai fisherman. As the sun sets, Rock Salt transitions into Nai Harn Beach’s premier chill-out destination. Patrons enjoy a menu inspired by the culinary traditions of the Eastern Mediterranean and North Africa with a dash of Thai influence in a relaxed al fresco ambiance.
Chef Fawkes will also be tasked with ensuring the Nai Harn’s other main restaurant, Cosmo, and its menu reflects the chef’s passion for travel and new cultural experiences, while an underpinning of Southern Thai flavours pays homage to The Nai Harn’s rich Phuket heritage. Freshly prepared breakfast specialities; delicately marinated seafood and healthy salads for lunch; and exquisite Thai cuisine throughout the day.
Also at Nai Harn we are committed to ethical cuisine. Guests will be able to indulge in the world’s most exclusive fois gras, without the guilt. A first to create all the exquisiteness of foie gras without force-feeding, Spanish producers Sussa & Labourdette has learnt how to farm the happy, free-range geese. Able to roam wild thanks to their migratory cycle, the farm creates an environment so comfortable no need or want for the geese to leave. With the aid of a specialist foie gras importer from some of the finest localities in Europe to Thailand, the The Nai Harn will be fortunate enough to be able to serve their guests this preferential product and further promote ethical foie gras to the luxury hospitality industry.
The Nai Harn has also tapped into the expertise of one of the world’s most famous barmen, Mr Salim Khoury, who was the head barman at the American Bar at The Savoy in London for 34 years. He has been engaged to organise the set up, training and preparation of cocktail lists at all bars at and will be in residence for one month following the opening.
What has the early reception with customers been like?
Great customer feedback – we feel very positive going forward and are very much looking forward to a fantastic 2016.
Where do you see the hotel in five years, in terms of business progress?
One of the leading resort hotels (non villa) in Thailand and Asia is certainly where we plan to be. And I think we’re on track for that – we’ve taken what was already an iconic location and hotel and taken it up a level for today’s discerning traveller. We’ve tried to think of everything and it’s really something special.
Would you consider another such project?
Yes definitely, if it has a similar potential like the current project. It’s been a great challenge but also incredibly rewarding. We started with a phenomenal product though, a hotel directly on a beach, an iconic property that has hosted some of the world’s most famous faces. It’s been a joy to reinvigorate this hotel and return it to its iconic glory.

New Look Sabres: GM 8 - LAK - Jeff Skinner goes Hollywood
If there is any City that thinks more of itself than our friends down in New York City it’s LA. For years starting at the beginning of this decade the Kings were a Western Conference powerhouse. After decades of just being the hockey team in that City they finally triggered something that was reaching for a dynasty. They got two Cups out of it but no dynasty and they’ve looked real garbage since 2016. October isn’t just for Hockey, it’s for the spookiness. Los Angeles has been a real horror house for the Buffalo Sabres for… well a decade plus. The Sabres came into this game having not won in Staples Center since Bush Jr.’s first term in Office. It was 2003 when the Blue and Gold last got a W in LA and I don’t know if any of us felt that confident about Buffalo after the last couple games. That said, LA is one of the worst teams on the powerplay this season, one of the few worse than Buffalo; that and… well, the Kings lost three straight games going into this one. As I said with the San Jose game: past stats don’t matter. If Buffalo didn’t win this game than Anaheim tomorrow night would’ve really felt do or die. You got to beat teams that are already defeating themselves and a four game losing streak going back to the 716 would’ve really fired up the hot take machine. Luckily when two lagging teams face each other one has to win.
The First period made you immediately realize both these teams were coming off of bad stretches. After my yes adjusted to the tighter camera angle it was clear to me the Kings were skating like lead and the Sabres were skating like molasses. LA got the better offensive zone time for the whole period and it looked like the visitors were quite pedestrian. There were however two penalty kills that probably might have boosted the Boys in Blue. Then a play developed that can best be described as sausy in hockey speak. All of Jason Pominville, Jake McCabe and Jack Eichel collapsed on the goal and hammered away at Jonathan Quick like he insulted all three of their mothers at once. Somehow the goal went in. Initially it was called for Eichel and then it got called for Pominville. The replay makes it clear it was a Quick own goal assisted by the two Sabres. As it was challenged I hoped and prayed it would stand because that kind of messy ass goal was what Buffalo needed. It stood. The Second Period picked up: Ullmark had to make a few more saves but Casey Mittelstadt and Evan Rodrigues contributed to every play in the offensive zone. Casey was very clearly beating down the door of his first goal this season.
It was only three and a half minutes into the center frame when Jeff Skinner shot a goal in on a wraparound that I am told looked like NHL 98. That video game was a little bit before my time so let’s just say he wound up and batted a pretty one in covered and close enough to Quick for him to smell his sweat. The fun wasn’t over yet and Jeff Skinner scored in the last five minutes of the second tucking one right under Quick’s pad right in front like the first one. At this point the home crowd boos against their own team starts coming down and after having a brief horrified flashback to the Home Opener I took a deep breath in, savoring another team getting booed in their own arena. Knowing how the Kings have been playing perhaps that isn’t a huge surprise. Want a huge surprise? Zach Bogosian scored with less than a minute left in the period. He scored a goal. You’re reading that correct: Zach Bogosian, who has had two fights in three games so far this season, scored a goal. It was from way out too and it was assisted by… get this: Johan Larsson and Zemgus Girgensons; unreal, pure fantasy. That triggered a category four gif hurricane on twitter. The Sabres found their way in this game well LA continued to play like lead. The Final Period LA knew they were behind and tested Ullmark a bit more. Dion Phaneuf picked a fight after slashing Jeff Skinner and we all collectively remembered how fun a player Phaneuf is. Also fighting: Kyle Okposo; I don’t really have a problem with him standing up for Mittelstadt, that’s primo hockey but how about ya don’t? Drew Doughty ruined Linus Ullmark’s perfect game before whoever LA’s coach is now pulled Quick with a hair under five minutes left. I guess everyone is doing that now. I imagine hiding and waiting to scare the shit out of someone on Halloween kind of feels like what these last minutes of the game felt like: any minute now, any minute now… here it comes… JEFF SKINNER! Jeff Skinner went Hollywood this afternoon and got the first hat trick of the season for the Sabres. Say it with me: Jeff Skinner is a Sabre. Jeff Skinner is a Sabre. He’ll probably join Eichel in the All Star game in the New Year and God willing he’ll sign long term. This game ended 5-1.
The Sabres didn’t turn over the puck much at all this game tiring out a Kings team that looks like a retirement home with a few young guys to help the old geezers. Speaking of Old Geezers, Jason Pominville had a goal and two assists to seal up 700 career NHL points. If you’re a relatively new hockey fan, as in the last five years, Jason Pominville is a fan favorite in Buffalo and was probably the biggest offseason move bringing him back here in the summer of 2017. He was a product of the Buffalo-Rochester development system and there is a certain sweetness to seeing such a milestone for a career like his. I talked a little bit in New Look Sabres Extra yesterday about how much we should expect from Captain Jack Eichel on a game-by-game basis. Today is probably it: if you don’t score a goal make, plays like you got a girl in the BU student section you’re trying to impress. The Sabres haven’t had a lot of impressive stats in recent memory, we all celebrated getting over .500 after the first Vegas game like it was a league record. Here however, is a stat from this game: Buffalo allowed only 20 shots on goal for the first time in exactly two years dating back to an October 20th win over Vancouver in 2016 (thanks to Sabres PR for that stat)… hmm that was back when the Kings were still good. Evidently this game wasn’t exactly a workout for Ullmark. It just tickles me silly he’s undefeated this season. Yummy.
Next Week you will be getting the first installment of New Look Sabres: Amerks Angle. That will be a monthly piece focused on the Rochester Americans, Buffalo’s AHL affiliate currently possessing three of the top goal scorers in that league; not to mention they just knocked off the Calder Cup Champion Toronto Marlies. That speaks for itself. Thanks to those you liking, commenting, hearting and I am assuming sharing these New Look Sabres posts. You guys are making some of these rougher nights fun for me. Keep it up. Now the Sabres ride the bus like an AHL team down the highway to the Honda Center for a matchup against another team going through a back to back this weekend: the Anaheim Ducks.
Thanks for reading.
P.S. I’ll take a hot-and-cold Sabres team that may turn consistent over a Florida or Detroit team that range from cold to corpse. Spooky.

Alidays Travel Experience, ispirazioni di fine anno
New York, Thailandia e Giappone.
Thanksgiving e Black Friday a New York

Buon Viaggio!

Recovering from a wound/illness + “You smell nice.”
The evening sun of Los Angeles was shining its light through the large glass windows as Alec stepped into the bedroom, holding a glass of water with a sparkly straw dropped into it. Closing the door behind him silently, he turned to Magnus, who was lying in bed, a thick blanket covering him. Carefully, Alec padded over to the bedside and sat down, running a hand through Magnus’s hair - which was free of any products and glided like silk between Alec’s fingers. Magnus shifted and opened his eyes, closing in immediately on the glass in Alec’s hands.
“How are you feeling?” Alec asked, pressing the back of his hand to Magnus’s forehead, which felt unnaturally cold.
“Do you want the truth or a lie?” Magnus asked, his voice low and hoarse, and Alec winced, his hand pausing its ministrations on Magnus’s hair.
Right now, Alec would give anything to know that Magnus was feeling at least a little better, but…
“The truth,” Alec whispered.
Magnus cracked a tiny smile and moved to rest his head on Alec’s thigh. “I still feel like shit.”
“Oh.” Despite having anticipated it, Alec’s heart dropped.
He moved his hand to behind Magnus’s head, tilting it up, and held the glass of water close to his lips. Magnus took the straw in his mouth and sipped, the room silent as night while he drank. Alec simply looked down at him, his heart aching for his love.
When he was done, Alec placed the glass on the bedside table and sank down into bed, letting Magnus snuggle into him.
Alec wrapped his arms around Magnus, who was now resting his face against Alec’s chest.
“You smell nice,” Magnus muttered, shifting his body closer to Alec’s.
Despite everything, Alec’s lips twitched into a smile. “Thanks. It’s the sea air.”
Magnus turned his face up, bleary eyes boring into Alec’s, and asked, “Are you sure you want to stay here?”
Alec frowned at the sudden change in topic. “Why?”
Magnus’s eyes flickered away, towards the wide windows on the other side of the room.
“I’m turning into a demon, after all,” he said factually. “Something could happen. I could hurt you.”
Alec exhaled, lowering his head and kissing Magnus’s forehead. “You won’t.”
"But what if-"
"You won't," Alec said. "Have some faith."
Magnus looked a little displeased. "I just want you to be safe."
"I am safe."
"Alexander-"
"Magnus," Alec returned.
When Magnus kept giving him that bleary eyed petulant stare, Alec sighed and said, "Magnus, I have not walked away from this for the last five years. What makes you think I'll start now?"
"I could hurt you." Magnus said again. "If something happens… Max and Rafe-"
"Will be fine," Alec interjected immediately. "Because nothing is going to happen to us."
Truthfully, Alec was so, so afraid.
Not for himself. Never for himself. All of his fear and more was only for Magnus. That something would happen to him. That he would go to a place where Alec couldn't go. That he would lose Magnus forever.
But for Magnus's sake, he kept it all to himself.
Magnus stared at him for a long moment, then sighed and snuggled into him.
"If you say so," he said. A moment of silence passed before Magnus spoke up again.
"Thank you, Alexander."
Alec frowned. "Why?"
"If it weren't for you..." Magnus said in a low voice. "I don't know what I would've done-"
"Hey, none of all that," Alec interrupted gently. "You're my-" husband "-boyfriend. It's my duty."
Magnus snorted, and Alec could somehow sense his smile tucked away in the folds of Alec's sweater. "Well, boyfriend, you're doing your duty brilliantly."
"Go to sleep," Alec scolded, but it had no real heat to it.
A tiny half-hearted chuckle later, Magnus fell silent.
Alec held him close throughout the evening and the night that followed. Despite everything, a sliver of hope remained in Alec's heart. Things would be fine.
They had to get married, after all.

CONGRAGUALTIONS ON 700 🎉🎉🎉
Malec and 30 for situations and 14 for sentences 🤪 💖
I am SO SORRY for being this late anon 😭😭😭
I started taking requests at 700 and now I’m much closer to 800 ajsjsjsks ig that tells a lot about me 😅 hopefully I’ll be able to tackle the remaining requests before new year
Ooh also, this Drabble was inspired by something that actually happened at my college 😂😂 except I was one of the giggling students 🤭
—————————————
One person is scolding the other + “Well geez, if you don't like what I'm wearing, I can go and change.”
It was a slow day at the university, being the middle of finals. Alec sat on a chair in the middle of the podium, fiddling with his phone in his hands, his eyes flitting across the rows of students whose heads were bent over their books, deep in concentration. Occasionally, one of the students would come over to Alec, making enquiries about some questions and asking about solutions to tough questions.
When Alec saw that everyone was absorbed in their books and unlikely to approach him anytime soon, he turned over his phone, unlocking it and coming face to face with his boyfriend Magnus’s chat with him.
Unwittingly, his lips curled up into a tiny smile. It was common for him to text his boyfriend on the quieter days, and if the students had ever noticed him typing away at his phone with a smile on his face and flushed cheeks, they never said anything.
Alec read over the last text Magnus had sent, which simply said, I’m dying of boredom here.
The smile widened with an imperceptible twitch, and Alec’s fingers flew across the screen as he typed out his reply, Too bad.
Magnus’s reply came only a few seconds later. ‘Too bad?’ I just got sent home because I was oVeRwOrKiNg, and now I have nothing to do and I even got temporarily blocked from my own company’s website because Raphael doesn’t want me working even though I WANT TO, and now I have nothing to do and I’m lounging all alone at home because you’re off working at that dumb university, and all you have to say is ‘Too bad?!’
Alec raised an eyebrow at Magnus’s impressive typing speed, and sent another text.
Well, Raphael wasn’t wrong. You didn’t even come home last night. :(
Aw, babe, I promise I’ll make it up to you after you come home ;)
Oh, really?
Alec’s lips stretched out into a tiny grin. Distantly, he heard a few murmurs from the students and looked up immediately, but they died out as soon as he did so. Alec raked his eyes across the room warily, making sure that everyone was minding their own business, and then turned back to his phone, where Magnus had just sent a new text.
I promise ;)) it will be worth it trust me. We have the whole afternoon to ourselves after all.
Alec could feel the heat rising to his cheeks now, having caught Magnus’s implications, and ducked his head.
Was he really about to stoop so low as to sext his boyfriend during work? Maybe.
Alec bit his lip and typed out, Hm, what do you plan on doing?
It’s a surprise ;)
Oh well. So much for sexting during work. Alec tried not to feel too disappointed and sent him a text. Okay then, I’ll just wait. XD
I can give you a hint, though ;)
That piqued Alec’s interest once more. Go on.
Alec had to wait a few moments before a picture arrived, and even with the blur Alec could tell that it was a picture of Magnus. He impatiently waited for it to load, and clicked on it as soon as it saved.
What he saw made his breath catch in his throat and sent his blood rushing up and down his body. His cheeks heated up rapidly and he stood up, the chair scraping back against the ground as he did so, and stalked out of the room as fast as he could, calling Magnus’s number on the way.
Magnus picked up almost immediately, answering in his chirpiest voice.
"Did you like it, darling?"
"Like it?!" Alec spluttered. "I just humiliated myself in front of the whole class!"
Magnus chuckled. “I’m pretty sure that’s just your procreative mind talking.”
“It’s not my procreative mind,” Alec groaned. He paused and turned to the door, listening intently. “They’re talking. And giggling. After I practically ran outside to call you! It’s all that stupid picture’s fault!”
“Well geez, if you don't like what I'm wearing, I can go and change,” Magnus said, and Alec could hear rustling in the background.
“No,” Alec said, his voice a few octaves higher than usual. He composed himself, and then said in his regular voice, “No, don’t. There’s only twenty minutes left until class ends, and this is the last class I have for the day. I’ll be home as soon as I can.”
Magnus was silent a moment and then laughed.
“Then I’ll be waiting for you, love,” Magnus said, his voice smooth and a little husky at the same time, and then cut the call.
Alec pulled the phone away from his ear and stared at it for a moment, then at the door. He could still faintly hear the students murmuring and giggling amongst themselves. His reflection stared back at him from the small window set into the door - his cheeks were red as apples, and his students had undoubtedly seen it all.
Alec groaned low in his throat and stepped up to the door, ready to face the music. False - he was not ready at all. From inside, he could hear one of the students squeal, “Did you see that? He was blushing!”
Oh well, atleast he had something to look forward to at home.

Hey darling! Hope you're doing well today! It'd be great if you could do Situation 22 (Jealous) for some good ol' book!Malec <33 ; )
Hello! I’m doing well, thanks for asking! (This one takes place before Cog btw)
———————————
Jealous + “Sorry. You’re just... really adorable.”
The stairs creaked under Alec’s feet as he walked up the stairway to Magnus's apartment. Hamming a tune under his breath, he unlocked the door and opened it to an empty living room.
Frowning slightly, he stepped inside, pocketing his keys and called out, "Magnus?"
"In here!"
Alec followed the voice to what he presumed was the closed door to Magnus's office. As soon as he neared it, the door creaked open a crack, and Magnus peeked out. He appeared to be wearing a glittery tank top, revealing his arms and shoulders, and every inch of his visible skin and then some was liberally covered in a sheen of sweat.
"Sorry, I'm in the middle of brewing a potion," Magnus explained with an apologetic smile. Alec had to work hard to focus on his words and not his arms, both of which were looking extremely appealing right now. "It won't be long, just a few minutes. Feel free to look around until then."
"Okay," Alec said, and blushed when his voice come out hoarser than intended. Magnus simply grinned at him, dabbing at a few stay beads of sweat on his forehead with the back of his hand, and retreated back into the office.
Alec stared at the closed door for a few moments before walking away, and paused near the living loom. Magnus did say he could look around, right?
He stood still for a moment before walking towalds the far end of the hallway towards Magnus's bedroom. He wasn't planning on invading Magus's privacy, of course. There was just something in that room that always made Alec curious, though he'd never gotten a good look at it.
It was a photograph, hung up just beside Magnus's dresser, framed in wood and depicting Magnus along with another woman who appeared to be in her twenties, but was much older if the warlock mark of blue skin was anything to go by.
Presently, Alec stood in front of the picture, looking at the woman with a scrutinizing gaze. He couldn't help but wonder exactly what this woman was to Magnus. An acquaintance? Or maybe a friend? Or perhaps... a past lover?
Alec felt a surge of unbridled emotion at that thought and frowned. Why did it matter, anyway? It wasn't like he and Magnus were serious. Magus's past loves didn't really matter.
Or maybe, Alec admitted a little begrudgingly to himself, they did matter.
He did want to know more about Magnus… including his past.
Alec chewed on his lip and cursed himself internally. This was exactly what he was afraid of -catching feelings for Magnus. Feelings meant relationships and commitment, and that would inevitably lead to-
An image of the clave loomed before Alec's mind, but before he could dwell on it any further, Magnus was there, throwing an arm around Alec and standing beside him.
"Are you done with the potion?" Alec asked, turning to Magnus.
Magnus raised a shoulder in a mild shrug. “Of course. I would never leave a half-brewed potion unattended.”
Alec cracked a small smile, then turned to the picture. “Who’s she?”
Magnus’s gaze fell on the picture. “Oh, she’s just a friend.”
“Oh,” was all Alec said.
Magnus’s smile suddenly turned a little teaseful. “Why do you ask?”
Alec’s eyes fell away, his gaze stopping at some point on the floor. “No reason."
Magnus chuckled and drew Alec closer, kissing the point where his jawline met his face. Alec's breath hitched, but Magnus was already pulling away, heading towards the living room and beckoning Alee along.
"Were you always friends," Alec asked against his better judgement as he followed Magnus. "Or did you ever… you know?"
Magnus paused at the entrance to the living room and turned to face Alec, bracing a hand against the wall closest to him.
"We were only friends, Alexander," Magnus said with a tiny grin. "Trust me. Catarina would have a fit if she heard you. Besides, I don’t really see why we’re having this conversation, unless…” Magnus’s grin widened a fraction. “Are you jealous?”
Alec’s eyes widened.
“N- no,” he stammered, trying to step past Magnus, but he moved swiftly to block Alec's path.
"You are, aren't you?" Magnus's grin broke into pearly laughter, and Alec could only stare in mild embarrassment until Magnus calmed down enough to lean in and kiss Alec's cheek.
"Sorry. You're just… really adorable," Magnus said in between breathy laughter. Alec could feel all the heat in the room rising to his cheeks.
Before he could say anything, however, Magnus grabbed the front of his hoodie and pulled him into a mushy kiss. Once again, Alec marvelled at how Magnus could turn his legs to jelly.
And when Magnus pulled away with a wink and headed into the living room, Alec could only follow him, cursing his stupid heart silently.
