The life of Han Solo. Ruff life, huh? We are back from @WendyVolhards #healthydogconference at the #LakeArrowheadResort.... we are exhausted! Well, I'm exhausted, Han still wants to play! He did great and we both had a wonderful time. I've unpacked and will be getting back on track tomorrow with the business side of things. Super Trainer Tip: Socialization is incredibly important, however, you must read your dogs so that you can protect them. The resort was very crowded (two weddings!) and everyone wanted to pet Han. While this seems like a great idea, and it can be, you have to learn when to say, 'no.' Too much of a good thing will push your dog over the edge resulting in your dog being forced to protect himself. With his teeth. Believe it or not, dogs don't want a hundred hands coming at them, violating them, without their permission. They all have their limits, and if you are not aware of that limit, they will make it clear. I had to say 'no' an awful lot this weekend. I also had to make the choice to crate Han instead of have him with me at times, but it was the best thing for him.
