Vajont, tragedia d'Italia, 9 ottobre 1963, 60 anni fa

I have created a lvl 10 BOSS as my DnD character for a high level campaign.
Name: Laggia Cruzz
Race: Half Orc (Critical deal an extra damage die)
Class: lvl 5 Bard, lvl 4 fighter, lvl 1 rogue
Main weapon: Rapier
Class features:
★Bard
•Key spell
-Faerie Fire (gives advantage on attack rolls)
★Fighter
-Duelist fighting style (+2 damage)
-Champion martial archetype (Improved critical)
-Extra Attack
The plan:
1. Cast Faerie fire
2. Action Surge or wait turn
3. Attack with Rapier plus bonuses (Mine is +8 to hit, and 1d8+6 for damage) twice
4. Because Faerie fire gives advantage, rogue gives extra 1d6 damage each hit from sneak attack (Rapier fits weapon qualifications)
Damage for 1 turn: ~18+ 1d6/sneak attack
If criticals are ever dealt, I deal 2d8+6 because of the Half-Orc Race, along with DM's damage ruling (Normal is either double dice or double damage, but either is volatile).
Improved critical ups my chances of crits, along with advantage from faerie fire
Best of all, I gave him a Dad Personality to compliment the Bard

Forse è meglio così. Mi concentrerò meglio sull'esame da dare prossimamente.
E na maner laggia piglia....

Evolzar Laggia ———————————————— 2 Level 4 Dinosaur-Type monsters During either player's turn, when a monster(s) would be Normal or Special Summoned, OR a Spell/Trap Card is activated: You can detach 2 Xyz Materials from this card; negate the Summon or activation, and if you do, destroy that card. ———————————————— Can Be Found In: Photon Shockwave (PHSW-EN043), Collectible Tins 2012 Wave 1 (CT09-EN011), Duelist Saga (DUSA-EN088)
Many summons involving the Extra Deck might be limited to the specific materials some monsters will ask to. However, as long we can meet their requeriments is quite possible to fit those restricted summons in all kinds of builds. Thanks to the card game giving total liberty for players to mix all sorts of themes and mechanics, we can create a Deck that is able to work arround their main goals yet able to spare some cards to summon those particular creatures. And in many cases is quite worth it, as to compensate their limited conditions they often carry powerful abilities to reward those who summon them.
"Evolzar Laggia" is one of the boss monsters residing the Evol archetype, yet became a powerful Xyz Monster for any build capable to handle Dinosaurs of all shapes and forms. Despite being a Rank 4 monster "Laggia" provides a powerful ability in return, as by detaching two materials will negate and destroy a summon or the activation of a Spell or Trap Card. This effect might only have a single use due the mechanics arround Xyz Monsters, yet by covering several scenarios as well the cheap conditions for its summon makes "Laggia" a staple choice for all sorts of builds which either completely focuses arround Evol and/or Dinosaurs, or simply adds a few tools to summon "Laggia" without clogging the rest of our Deck.
Despite being limited to be summoned by using Dinosaurs, "Laggia" obtains a massive number of materials from not only its archetype but also any Deck that can play with a few monsters of this Type. The fastest method known by many competitive players is with the help of "Rescue Rabbit", a creature that banishes itself to summon two Normal Monsters from our Deck more than ready to summon "Laggia" from our very first turn. With further investment from cards like "Unexpected Dai" and "Swing of Memories", pretty much a Normal Monster Deck mainly involving Dinosaurs will make sure that "Laggia" and its copies are always prepared to be Xyz Summoned. But a Deck arround Effect Monsters won't have more problems in comparison, not just because they can simply add Normal Monsters to their strategy but also get further assistance from cards like "Miscellaneousaurus" and "Souleating Oviraptor" to gather materials in one way or another. If we wanna stay on theme and play arround Evol monsters not onyl they gain the support from the previously mentioned cards, but with the help of effects like "Evolsaur Vulcano" and "Evo-Force" we can assure momentum arround their summoning mechanics as we also prepare the arrival of "Laggia". Last but not least, we can start Duels by instead pressuring the opponent by attacks of monsters like "Hydrogeddon" and "Jurrac Guaiba" as they summon other Dinosaurs from our Deck in the process, allowing us to Xyz Summon them together during the Main Phase 2.
With a more than covered Xyz Summon, "Evolzar Laggia" shouldn't take too long to be on the board and be prepared to answer a big number of actions and threats. Even if the effect of "Laggia" only has a single use, dealing with virtually any summon during a Duel can completely ruin any potential setups or simply destroy any powerful enemies landing on the opponent's field. Not only that but "Laggia" has also an opportunity to negate and destroy several monsters summoned all at once, mainly coming from Pendulum Summons since any other source will be simply negated by this monster or any other countermeasures we can have. Spells and Traps won't be less of an exception when "Laggia" is on the field, as if is not countering all sorts of tools the opponent is relying to setup their strategies will protect our field from all sorts of dangers like "Raigeki" or "Cosmic Cyclone". As soon "Laggia" uses it effect it might seem that doesn't offer much than attacks, but it can actually have a second purpose as material for other monsters including Rank-Up summons to become an attached material on stronger Xyz Monsters like "Evolzar Solda" or "Number 61: Volcasaurus".
"Evolzar Laggia" quickly became a popular choice in any Deck that either focuses arround Dinosaurs or simply adds a few options like "Rescue Rabbit" to assure its immediate arrival. Its effect might only have a single use, but by covering all kinds of bases makes its effect very difficult for the opponent to pass by without damaging their summons and/or setups. The biggest problem arround Laggia is neither its limited materials or an effect with one opportunity to activate it, but rather the fact that cannot deal with monster effects as they become more and more prevalent than Spell and Trap cards. While this flaw made it lose popularity over alternatives like its Evol comrade "Evolzar Dolkka" working arround the same setups and mechanics, "Laggia" still remains a powerful choice for any Deck that can quickly bring out Dinosaurs for a Xyz Summon right from our first turn.
Personal Rating: A+
+ Negates a summon or the activation of a Spell or Trap Card + Greatly assisted for a very cheap Xyz Summon
- Due its effect's cost will mostly have a single use - Unable to deal against monster effects as they become more prevalent

It took a while, but I’m super happy with how this turned out! Definitely going to try to turn this into a physical playmat as soon as I can.
Thanks to @wonderfulworldofmoi for taking this commission even though it was a big project for her. I love her work, and she never disappoints.

Themed-day: Photon Shockwave
It’s that time...It’s the 10 year anniversary of Photon Shockwave, the second pack of the Zexal era and what a pack it was. Where to begin:
1) Bunilla, obviously. And speaking of rabbits: The one and only Rescue Rabbit.
2) The debut of Photon/Galaxy, including Kaito’s cover card (and perhaps of my favorite Dragons art-wise): Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon.
3) The debut of Evol, including their infamous boss monster with Dino DNA: Evolzar Laggia
4) The card to make Ice Barriers playable (relatively speaking): Prior of the Ice Barrier.
5) Several new Numbers, including the Rank 3 staple Number 20: Giga-Brilliant and the “You Just Summoned Your Mom” classic of Number 83: Galaxy Queen
6) Various support for Wind-Up, including the infamous (and still banned in the OCG) Wind-up Hunter
7) Various Spell Cards, including Shard of Greed, One Day of Peace, and Tri-Wight (my Ojama Deck thanks you)
8) Some OCG imports, including notably Gishki Beast and Metaion the Timelord
Hope you all enjoy today’s three posts and have a great rest of your day.
(Seriously, just look at it).

Although starting with VRAINS and ARC-V is objectively better, you’re at least thrown some bones if you do decide to roll with Duel Monsters first and work your way up.
Mako has a simplified build of Gishkis for his challenge deck, with just one boss monster available -- however, when combined with the Pot of Greed + Graceful Charity draw engine plus Double Summon or Ultimate Offering to abuse Gishki Beast’s effect to grab another level 4 Gishki from the GY, you can spam Mistar Boy + rank 4s that you also happen to be able to farm from him, and recoup your resources with the set of Salvage that you also happen to be able to farm from him. You also get a full set of Compulsory and Wiretap from him, which is cool.
Rex has Evolsaurs for his challenge deck, and as if that wasn’t tantalizing enough, he also has full sets of Laggia and Dolkka that you can farm from him. Combine that with the full set of Fossil Dig you get from his story duel if you farmed that, and you can consistently search your deck and then drop negation bombs on the field after you farm the needed cards.
One deck is decent, the other can be over-the-top with the right build, even this early on in the campaign. Definitely outclasses most decks even in the challenge category (at least, Evolsaur does) until you unlock Bakura’s challenge deck and get the chance to farm broken Burning Abyss.
#yugioh legacy of the duelist link evolution#gaming#the testing continues on this third acc#the stuff in boosters at least gets a little better as you unlock more of them as well#you don't start getting the good stuff til kaiba and joey's packs tho#nor is exodia ftk a true possibility til joey's at the very least#since he has makyura in his pack#while yugi's pack has royal magic library that the deck desperately needs for extra draw power#for the most part it seems like farming decks is the better alternative in dm

So many sights to take in! Florence is full of Renaissance beauties! The Baptistery with “The Gates of Paradise”, Giotto’s bell tower over looking the Duomo, Laggia die Lanza with Perseus decapiting Medusa, the Uffizi housing da Vinci’s Annunciation, and the Ponte Vecchio which has been standing since Roman Times. Topped all that off with dinner and a bottle of wine. Cheers Florence! Looking forward to tomorrow.

finished building this yugioh deck that i’m probably never gonna use!
deck list below and a fat ass wall of text poorly explaining how it works

Monsters (26 Cards) 3 x Souleating Oviraptor 3 x Dinowrestler Pankratops 3 x Miscellaneousaurus 2 x Overtex Qoatlus 2 x Ultimate Conductor Tyranno 1 x Giant Rex 1 x Petiteranodon 1 x Babycerasaurus 1 x Jurrac Aeolo 1 x Shaddoll Beast 1 x Shaddoll Dragon 1 x Shaddoll Hedgehog 3 x Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring 3 x Effect Veiler

Traps (0 Cards) Imagine running unsearchable, conventional Trap cards in 2019 LMAO
_
EXTRA DECK (5 Fusions, 3 Synchros, 4 Xyz, 3 Links) El Shaddoll Winda El Shaddoll Grysta El Shaddoll Shekhinaga Starving Venom Fusion Dragon Salamangreat Violet Chimera Trishula, Dragon of the Ice Barrier PSY-Framelord Omega Hi-Speedroid Chanbara Evolzar Laggia Evolzar Dolkka Tornado Dragon Abyss Dweller Borreload Dragon Pentestag Knightmare Phoenix
SIDE DECK (6 Monsters, 9 Spells) 3 x Ghost Ogre & Snow Rabbit 3 x Artifact Lancea 3 x Called by the Grave 3 x Twin Twisters 3 x Cosmic Cyclone
ALWAYS TRY TO GO SECOND. A lot of the important cards in this deck are significantly weaker when going first like Shaddoll Fusion, Super Polymerization, Dinowrestler Pankratops, and the Hand traps.
Souleating Oviraptor is far and away the best card to use your Normal Summon on in the deck. Its on-summon effect makes it either an Elemental Hero Stratos or Armageddon Knight, but for Dinosaurs. Also has a resurrection effect that synergizes with Lost World and the Level 2 Dinosaurs.
Dinowrestler Pankratops is basically the modern-era Cyber Dragon, but it’s 500 ATK stronger, can pop one of the opponent’s cards off the field, and can be easily accessed by Oviraptor, Petiteranodon, and Double Evolution Pill.
Miscellaneousaurus can protect the Dinosaurs on the field from opponent’s effects for the rest of the Main Phase by discarding itself from the hand. When it’s in the Graveyard, it can banish itself along with other Dinos to Special Summon a Dino from the deck.
Overtex Qoatlus is mostly used to be sent to the GY via Shaddoll Fusion, Oviraptor, Foolish Burial, etc. to add a Double Evolution Pill from deck to the hand. On field, it can negate Spells and Traps by destroying Dinos on the field or in hand as a cost. Possibly the next best target for Double Evolution Pill if Ultimate Conductor Tyranno is unavailable or already summoned.
Ultimate Conductor Tyranno is nuts. Its intended summoning method is easy enough, has a quick effect that can Book of Eclipse the opponent’s entire field, can attack all of the opponent’s monsters one at a time, and does a nice 1000 burn damage if those monsters are in Defense position. Main target for Double Evolution Pill.
Giant Rex is used to further extend combos by summoning itself back to the field when it’s banished. Only running one since it’s easy to access/set up and its effect can only be used once per turn.
Petiteranodon and Babycerasaurus basically do the same thing: special summons a Dinosaur from the deck if they’re destroyed by a card effect. Teranodon has access to Pankratops while Cerasaurus can get Jurrac Aeolo; both can target level 4s.
Jurrac Aeolo is the main target for Miscellaneousaurus’s GY effect; being Level 1, Misc only needs to banish itself and nothing else. Gives the deck access to Synchro summoning.
Each of the Main deck Shaddoll monsters serve about the same purpose of meeting the requirements for Shaddoll Fusion: gaining card advantage from their effects that activate upon being sent to the GY. Beast draws 1 card, Dragon pops a Spell/Trap, Hedgehog searches for another Shaddoll monster which sets up Grysta/Shekhinaga’s on-field effects. Dragon and Hedgehog still have decent Flip effects if they’re the only Normal summon available in hand.
Ash Blossom and Effect Veiler are “hand traps” that can respond to a wide variety of effects and are effective against most strategies. Can be switched out between games with other Side Deck cards depending on the match up.
Shaddoll Fusion is basically a Foolish Burial but for 2 Monsters instead of 1, and you get a Fusion monster out of it. The only condition is that the opponent needs to control a Monster that came from the Extra Deck. This, along with Main-decking Pankratops and wanting to be able to Attack right away, is why this deck is primarily a going-second strategy.
Double Evolution Pill is the main way of getting Ultimate Conductor Tyranno and Overtex Qoatlus on the field directly from the deck, ignoring their summoning conditions. Getting a non-Dinosaur in the GY for Pill’s activation cost would be hard in a Pure Dinosaur deck, but thankfully Shaddoll Fusion exists.
Lost World is a Field spell that works as an interesting floodgate card. It gives the opponent a Token monster that prevents them from targeting other monsters on the field with card effects until the token is gone. This can protect you from disruptive cards like Effect Veiler and Phantom Knights’ Fog Blade. The 500 ATK penalty on non-Dinosaurs can sometimes get in the way of a One Turn Kill (OTK), though.
Fossil Dig is the Dinosaur version of Reinforcement of the Army. Oviraptor and Misc are the main targets.
Super Polymerization is this deck’s spicy tech card (and why I’m not running Dogoran or any other Kaiju monsters). The opponent cannot respond to its activation and their monsters on the field can be used as fusion material. The El Shaddolls’ materials are generic enough, but there’s also Starving Venom Fusion Dragon for decks that use a lot of DARKs. Salamangreat Violet Chimera is ran because the most recent Structure deck that is competitively viable are also usually very popular.
Foolish Burial is basically a Double Evolution Pill or draw depending on what you send to the GY (Qoatlus and Shaddoll Beast, respectively). Can also send Giant Rex or Misc to set the GY up for later plays.
Monster Reborn is used to extend combos or recycle an Oviraptor for its on-summon effect if summoning it through other methods aren’t available or efficient.
El Shaddoll fusion monsters: Winda (Shaddoll + DARK monster), Grysta (Shaddoll + FIRE), Shekhinaga (Shaddoll + EARTH). All of them interact with Special summoning or Special summoned monsters, and can recycle Shaddoll Fusion back to the hand for next turn when sent to the GY.
Starving Venom Fusion Dragon and Salamangreat Violet Chimera are here as Super Polymerization targets, as explained above.
Trishula, Dragon of the Ice Barrier has a cool effect despite needing three monsters to summon, banishing away three of the opponent’s cards.
PSY-Framelord Omega can recycle banished cards back to the GY (primarily Miscellaneousaurus) and has a quick effect that banishes it along with a random card from the opponent’s hand for the turn.
Hi-Speedroid Chanbara is an easy to summon level 5 Synchro that can do a hefty 4600 damage (3600 with Lost World active) for potential OTKs.
Evolzar Laggia is pretty much a Solemn Judgement on legs for Dinosaur decks. Evolzar Dolkka can negate monster effects and destroy them up to two times.
Tornado Dragon poops on decks that depend on Continuous Spells, Traps, Field cards, and/or Pendulums.
Abyss Dweller helps stop the opponent’s Graveyard shenanigans.
Borreload Dragon is great at removing problematic monsters that could not be dealt with by normal means, by stealing them.
Pentestag is a LINK-2 that’s very generic, easily gets monsters in the GY, and it can give the monster it points to the ability to inflict piercing damage which can help end games sooner.
Knightmare Phoenix is another way to deal with Spells/Traps if Shaddoll Dragon and Tornado Dragon are not available or too difficult to summon at the moment.
Ghost Ogre & Snow Rabbit can destroy cards in response to their effects activating, unlike Ash Blossom who only negates them.
Artifact Lancea completely prevents cards from being banished for the turn which can be a huge disruption to decks that rely on banishing for their plays (like this very deck, and many others).
Called by the Grave is primarily used to counter opposing Hand Traps. This deck interacts a lot with the deck directly which makes Ash Blossom a huge pain in the ass.
Twin Twisters because fuck Mystic Mine.
Cosmic Cyclone because fuck Mystic Mine, and Spells/Traps that have effects that resolve in the GY or can be interacted with from there.

Ultimate Tyranno ———————————————— This card can attack all monsters your opponent controls, once each. During your Battle Phase, if you control an "Ultimate Tyranno" that can attack, monsters other than "Ultimate Tyranno" cannot attack. ———————————————— Can Be Found In: Power of the Duelist (POTD-EN020), Structure Deck: Dinosaur's Rage (SD09-EN014), Battle Pack 2: War of the Giants (BP02-EN045), Dinosmasher's Fury Structure Deck (SR04-EN006), Duel Terminal 2 (DT02-EN059), Duelist League 13 (DL13-EN010)
Dinosaurs were supposed to be the Type with the most offensive approach in the game, but they took a little while to achieve this gamestyle. However the wait was worth it, as not only they gained this playstyle with overwhelming creatures able to keep leading the Battle Phase, but also various summoning options to achieve all sorts of setups. By either gathering materials under all kinds of conditions to cheap summons to obtain their strongest monsters, as a Type that the opponent should never let their guard down against.
"Ultimate Tyranno" is often used in various Dinosaur builds due its potential to take down whole fields on its own. Although "Ultimate Tyranno" (and its copies) are the only ones able to attack as long is in our field, in return it will be able to battle every single monster the opponent controls on each Battle Phase. With a high ATK and the various summoning options to summon big monsters such as this the Type offers, "Ultimate Tyranno" has all the opportunities to wipe out whole fields and deal reasonable damage with all the attacks stacked in a single turn.
Although Dinosaurs gradually moved to work arround Extra Deck summons like many other builds, they are still able to bring a big monster like "Ultimate Tyranno" with no much effort put into its arrival. Cards like "Petiteranodon" and "Souleating Oviraptor" will easily bring it to our hand under their respective conditions, with the latter giving us the alternative to send it to the Graveyard so we can revive it by its own effect or a card like "Fossil Excavation" (Which we can also discard "Tyranno" for its cost and revive it afterwards if there was already other targets in our Graveyard). "Miscellaneousaurus" can banish itself along several other Dinosaurs in our Graveyard to summon "Tyranno" from our Deck, while alternatively, "Ultra Evolution" will do so if we work along other monsters outside Dinosaurs. This can be referred to the Ninja archetype, as thanks to "Ninjitsu Art of Super-Transformation" we can get rid of an opponent monster as we summon "Ultimate Tyranno" in the process. Finally, with the many Special Summons available nowadays, "Hunting Instinct" can respond an opponent's summon by bringing "Tyranno" resting in our hand.
With 3000 ATK and a little coverage from cards such as "Forbidden Lance" and "Miscellaneousaurus", "Ultimate Tyranno" alone can overtake entire fields despite becoming the only one able to attack on our field. With the recent inclusion of the Extra Monster Zone, "Tyranno" can reach to a maximum of six attacks while stacking damage one after another. With the many summoning methods available there's a good chance the opponent has plenty of monsters to be taken down by the several attacks of "Tyranno", but there are some options to achieve its maximum capacity as well achieve OTKs with. Cards like "Ojama Trio" can gather additional monsters to the opposite field, which once combined with cards like "Fairy Meteor Crush" and "All-Out Attacks" will assure the opponent has nearly no defensive resources to reduce damage form our several attacks. And although "Ultimate Tyranno" restricts our other monsters from attacking, we can bring other copies to attack once the field is clear and/or summon monsters like "Fossil Dyna Pachycephalo" and "Evolzar Laggia" to shut down opponent's options and making it harder to recover against our main offense.
Despite losing some prevalence over its recent counterpart "Ultimate Conductor Tyranno", "Ultimate Tyranno" is still a quite powerful monster to lead fields with. Several summoning routes which includes the Ninja archetype and "Ultra Evolution", together with the high chances of dealing big quantities of damage to the point of achieving an OTK, "Tyranno" might not be the boss monster of the Type but is still able to lead its own Deck efficiently. The fact that "Tyranno" is the only one able to attack might restrict our Battle Phase results depending of the situation on the opposite field, but overall has all the possibilities and resources to overwhelm the opponent as long it stays on the field.
Personal Rating: B+
+ Able to attack every monster on the opponent's field + Several options to be summoned + Various tools and chances to achieve an OTK
- Overshadowed by other options arround Dinosaurs - Other monsters on our field besides copies of itself cannot attack - Completely dependant of the opponent's field to achieve results
