New video on my TikTok in support and appreciation to CraftNerdz TCG for my custom laser wood engraving of Laffey II in her bunny suit. I'm very happy with how she turned out and arrived safe and intact. Prices aren't very high. For both jumbo and a 5x7 inch card, the prices are $8 to $16, and free shipping depends on the range of where you live; ex: I had free shipping because I live in WA, CraftNerdz' business is in TX.
I'm not the first one to make a purchase to CraftNerdz, I'm like the 50th, maybe? Come check his page out and see if there's anything you like. You has a variety of anime character engravings, but your custom doesn't have to be anime. It can be any series, a portrait of you, your family, your pet, your favorite celeb.
CraftNerdz is mainly on TikTok for live engravings and 3D priting, but he also has Instagram and Discord to request a pic you have in mind (including nsfw fanart).

SHIPGIRL APPRECIATION DAY - Kearsarge
USS Kearsarge. Let's start this post strong: Kearsarge is single-handedly the most unique character in the game (for legal reasons, in my opinion). Her design should already let you know why, but if you aren't seeing why, I will explain.
This post will divert a little bit from the formula I established post-DoY post (the first I did). It will include very, very heavy use of headcanons that are in no way supported by the lore, but I think are neat.
Personality-wise, Kearsarge knows she is superior. She is better than those other shipgirls that have decades of experience. That's simply a fact to her, and since it's a fact; all her actions do not come as arrogant. She just does things - she disregards your orders if she thinks they're not very efficient, she organizes your documents in a way she finds to be perfect regardless of what you prefer, she charges by herself or stays behind depending on the situation.
On occasion, I neglect your will and prioritize the here and now on the battlefield. While you are the Commander, sometimes you have to let your soldiers handle things – the sooner you accept this, the better.
Her approach isn't necessarily wrong, either. Despite this, Kearsarge is a very reliable shipgirl. She is, indeed, strong - her twelve 406mm main guns are accurate and devastating by themselves, but she also has access to a squadron of five F8F Bearcat attack aircraft. Her firepower is incomparable among Eagle Union backliners.
However, her personality doesn't stay like this forever. When you as the player character get closer to her, you discover she's just autistic. She deeply cares about you, but is so expressive about her emotions and trains of thoughts, it's easy to think she's just a self-centered arrogant woman who speaks with a detached tone. She will not outright tell you she's in love with you, but she will make you some borscht! (I should point out Kearsarge is, originally, a ship commissioned by the Soviet Union, hence her Russian influence). That's her love language.
USS Kearsarge, steel version.
Design-wise, I adore how the artist YD managed to take one of the ugliest ships in World of Warships and turn her into such a beautiful, unique, one-of-a-kind shipgirls. An angel descending from the machine, a seraphim clad in steel and powered by steam. A herald from another timeline, where the Eagle Union necessitated the construction of Kearsarge. Her rigging divided symmetrically in half, her turrets and their support structure taking the shape of 4 wings of white metal, the faux wings and herself connected to a floating halo device to act as a mediator between the flesh and the steel. Her planes up in the air, a ghostly echo. Her arms stretched outwards, "fear not".
In the event Parallel Superimposition the commander visits a simulation based on the anomalous data from the hull of Anchorage. We learnt a lot about Anchorage, Dr. Aoste, Dr. Anzeel, and the Type-II hulls. We also learnt Bon Homme Richard exists in this simulation. Now, I believe this realm to be strictly speaking a simulation - not a real universe. However, when the event ended; TB had managed to gather enough information on Yorktown II, Northampton II, Hornet II, Hammann II and Langley II. Laffey II, as much as she made an appearance, couldn't be studied. I am guessing the same goes for Bon Homme. Who is to say Kearsarge doesn't come from this simulation? Or that she comes from a universe that parallels this simulation?
Hopefully I shouldn't have to point the obvious similarities between Anchorage's rigging and Kearsarge's rigging. Anchorage is like a cherub accompanying the cyber-divine orchestra of Kearsarge's guns and planes.
-------
THIS WOMAN WILL NOT LEAVE MY MIND I HAVE SO MUCH BRAINROT FOR KEARSARGE
hopefully it's entertaining to read and y'all can see why i like her.

azur lane for the fandom ask?
blorbo (favorite character, character I think about the most):
The whole Starter Squad, really. Also Long Island and Warspite
scrunkly (my “baby”, character that gives me cuteness aggression, character that is So Shaped)
Long Island. Just .... My ghostie
scrimblo bimblo (underrated/underappreciated fave)
Yamashiro, probably. Not sure if Nagato counts as underappreciated, but she's definitely Fave and I don't see her talked about much. Also Akashi because Shiranui ruined her reputation and I will not stand for this adorable cat being slandered
glup shitto (obscure fave, character that can appear in the background for 0.2 seconds and I won’t shut up about it for a week)
Siren Explorer. Not sure why, but outside or The Mad Lass that is Purifyer she's the one Siren that I just come back to in my head. And she doesn't even have a character or any lines!
poor little meow meow (“problematic”/unpopular/controversial/otherwise pathetic fave)
hmmm. Not many characters in the setting that qualify for me, I guess. I like Arc Royal's design, but the lolicon meme has gotten even more out of hand than the Scamcat one, so even I tend to handle her with thick gloves in my mind. Also Yamacha mentioned above, she definitely counts as pretty pathetic but I love her dearly.
horse plinko (character I would torment for fun, for whatever reason)
Well, evidently Laffey, since I keep killing all her friends in my WIPs.
eeby deeby (character I would send to superhell)
Oceana II. Fuck that bitch, I didn't come here to play Touhou
#ask game#you can probably tell I haven't kept up with the setting in a while#Also Sang your drip is impeccable I have to mention it here

Shipgirl height headcanons
(Note: my sense of scale and size is somewhat screwed, so this is more of a reference sheet than a definitive height chart for my hcs)
Bismarck is roughly around 6ft; Prinz Eugen is, at most, a head shorter than her (this becomes half a head~a couple of inches with her heels)
Valiant is exactly 1cm taller than her sisters and lords it over them (Queen Elizabeth is not amused)
To add onto the previous point, Queen Elizabeth META is two (2) centimeters taller than Valiant
The Yorktown class from tallest to shortest is Enty, Yorktown, Hornet; Type II rigging doesn't change this (though in all fairness, the height difference isn't noticable until you ask all 3 of them to stand against a wall together)
Royal Fortune is roughly 5'9"
In the Starter Squad, Nimi/Z23's the tallest, followed by Ayanami, Javelin, then Laffey
Roon and Enty are similar in height
Yamashiro META is 1½ inches taller than her non-meta counterpart
#comet chasing#azur lane#headcanons#fun fact#the roon and enty point is directly inspired by whispers of saturn#it's a great fic go read it

The Venator-class Star Destroyer Cruiser Protector served as the flagship of the 101st Fleet and the personal command ship of Jedi Knight/General Rhydon Kenobi and Fleet Admiral Whitney Thomas. The Protector, like her sister ship, the Peace of the 82nd Attack Fleet, boasted the Sapphire Blue colors of the 101st Legion rather than the standard crimson red colors of the Republic Navy and was always seen leading the 101st Fleet from the front. Because of the leading from the front belief of the Protector's commanding officers, many in the 101st Fleet would find inspiration, and many ships would follow behind their flagship, eager to see the mission through. Throughout the war, The Protector would be home to many individuals in the 101st Legion, from Rhydon Kenobi and his wives: Zarina Kenobi, Taylor Smith, and Sierra Sommers, to Rhydon Kenobi's padawan Zayla Secura, Admiral Whitney Thomas, ARC Commander Zeus, and many others.
Continuing to fight through the Clone Wars, the Protector would see action through battles such as Christophsis, Ryloth, Geonosis, Saleucami, Kamino, Sullust, Umbara, Ringo Vinda, Anaxes, Coruscant, and Mandalore. Through each battle, the Protector was flanked by the Venator Battleships North Carolina, Washington, Arizona II, Pennsylvania, Maryland, West Virginia, California, Tennessee, Nevada, Oklahoma II, Venator Carriers Enterprise, Yorktown II, Hornet II, Wasp II, and Venator Cruisers Baltimore, Bremerton, Arquitens Light Cruisers Brooklyn and St. Louis, Aspis Destroyer Laffey, and Aiwha-class Stealth Ship Nautilus. An aspect of the Protector that made it an impressive ship was the customization that Rhydon Kenobi and Whitney Thomas put into the ship; not only did the cruiser possess a unique color scheme related to its Jedi commander, but the Protector also boasted an advanced shield, armor, and a better weapons system, than most Venator cruisers. This amount of customization to the Protector was seen by many as unnecessary, but Rhydon Kenobi and Admiral Thomas stood by their decision to increase the ship’s combat capabilities.
The downfall of the Flagship Protector would come from several of the final battles of the Clone Wars, in which the ship’s shields were weakened and her armor damaged. This weakened state would come to be stressed to its limit in the Battle of Coruscant, where despite the Protector being kept in the rear of the battle for once, she would still be struck by enemy fire in the battle. Following the Battle of Coruscant, Rhydon and Admiral Whitney recognized that the Protector would more than likely not survive another battle without extensive repairs, but the need to deploy the remaining ships of the 101st Fleet to Mandalore had forced them to put repairs on hold. Rhydon and Whitney’s decision was due to the remaining half of the 101st Fleet, as well as the 332nd Armada, were already at Mandalore, performing a siege operation against the forces of Darth Maul and the Dark Acolyte Zolan Chan.
Upon their arrival at Mandalore, Rhydon had Admiral Whitney transfer any important equipment, as well as any personal items, to anyone aboard the Protector, onto the Enterprise while he led the ground forces to the planet's surface. This would prove beneficial when Order 66 was initiated, causing several clone crew members to turn against the Jedi leadership. Fortunately, the crew of the Protector, and consequently the Enterprise, and several other important 101st Fleet ships, were loyal to the Jedi and refused to follow Order 66, but this would, however, put a massive target on them, as the ships that were going through with the Order, turned on them. As it was, the Protector was situated in the middle of the Fleet formation, and while a good number of the surrounding ships were Jedi loyal, several ships weren't, thus leading to the 101st flagship being fired upon, causing her already weakened state to be further stressed to the breaking point.
Although Admiral Whitney did her best to keep order on the Protector, she would be forced to order the crew and all other clones and personnel aboard to evacuate the cruiser and quickly make her way to an escape pod. In the end, this would come to be the best choice, as the Protector would explode in a massive fireball as the escape pods and vessels made their way to any nearby Jedi loyal ships, the majority of them, including Admiral Whitney's pod, made their way to the Enterprise. Admiral Whitney Thomas would meet up with Commodore Wilhelm Halsey, who served as the commander of the Enterprise, and Jedi General Rhydon Kenobi, who had returned from the planet's surface after being rescued by female clone troopers, alongside his apprentice Zayla Secura, wife Zarina, and the Jedi loyal male clone troopers. After this, the Venator-class Star Destroyer Carrier Enterprise would take up the torch as the new flagship of the 101st Fleet, continuing to honor the legacy of the Venator-class Star Destroyer Cruiser Flagship Protector.

Sail Away
Man, it has been a clean minute since I've had the opportunity to post consistently. The tail end of this year has been absolutely ridiculous. Life comes at you fast and i have been run over (figuratively and quite literally, twice), so i can't tell you how happy i am to see 2023 give way to 2024. New year, new me, as they say. But, before we progress into the future, i wanted to at least tie up some loose ends here and there, starting with my grand adventure through Azur Lane. Contrary to my radio silence here, I've been pretty active on my weirdly chosen Gacha experience and have made quite a bit of progress since my last check in. I believe the last update i made was about two months ago and, in a gacha game, that's an eternity so, here i am, making up for that long ass gap in time. This is going to be a big one, so bear with me.
Anemia
This year has been kind of an Iron Blood drought and i hate. I am a KMS main and the lack of more Kraut girls has been hard. I appreciate what we did get, particularly the new Priority boats and Bismarck Zwei, but coming of last year where we were lousy with German content, this year was kind of a letdown. Still, I certainly capitalized on what was available, particularly grinding out those PR6 ships with fervor. I did notice coming up with Blueprints for those ships, after they were initially completed, has been like pulling eye teeth but i have made solid progress on that front. Felix Schultz and Hindenburg were completed fairly quickly and i was even able to stack up enough Blueprints to hit Felix with a Fate Simulation but i am SO far off of that for Hindy. Bro, these Rainbow PR blueprints are a CHORE to grind! I've been chasing Hindy's for months! The second she was completed, they just disappeared! It's like the game is forcing me to try and construct the other boats but, like, i don't wanna? I just want my goddamn Krauts to be the best they can be. Speaking of Fate Simulations...
Push It To The Limit
Friedrich Der Grosse got one! Why the f*ck would you buff this powerhouse any further? I think this happened super early in the year but i can't remember. Obviously, i had the Blueprints to make this happen and i, for sure, pulled that trigger immediately. Fried was already a mainstay in my dock as she was before but after that unlock? Man, you'd be hard pressed to find a better ship to lead your KMS fleet. The Fate Simulation drops this year have been very interesting. Like, Fried got one early on, but then Prinz Rupprecht got one, too. We're talking a PR2 ship, followed relatively closely by a PR5? Like, Ruppie got hers before Aegir. How does that math work? WHY did the math work out like that? Aegir is a f*cking monster, but so is Fried, so if you're going to buff her, why not the other? I'm not complaining, i mean, i really am, but petulance aside, what since does this make? One Decisive per Faction a year or something? Shenanigans, sir, shenanigans.
Ultra Light Beams
We had two Rerun events this year which allowed me to net two of the three missing UR ships i needed. I was able to pop both New Jersey and, more importantly, Shima-f*cking-zake! Bro, I've been chasing that rabbit since her initial run two years ago and finally - FINALLY - added her to my Sakura Empire dock. I cannot stress to you how satisfying it was when that reveal cut to her little intro animation. This sense of accomplishment just washed all over me. Actually, in hindsight, this has been the year of the UR. We had those Reruns, but we also got Unzen, Bismarck Zwei, Yorktown II (kind of), and Implacable, were all released this year. Obviously, i ran those Banners hard and popped them all but Manjuu didn't stop there. The current event, Light-Chasing Sea of Stars, is offering two UR entries for Eagle Union! I already rolled enough of the first, Guam, to fully Limit Break her. all that's left now is to grind out enough of those f*cking Bunbun UR Vouchers, to buy Laffey II. Considering I'm still chasing the ghosts of Vanguard and Kronshtadt, there's no way I'm going to miss the opportunity to add Laffey the 2nd in her native Event. Also, i miscounted the men. I was missing four URs initially. Thank god for the Lite Rerun.
Horrors of the Deep
I have to say, that Tempesta dock got a huge biff out of nowhere this year. I thought it was just going to be Royal Fortune as a one off. Apparently, that was never the case. We got an entire Fleet of eldritch nightmares. These weird ass ghost ships got a whole as event unto themselves, filled with cannonballs and tentacles. That Tempesta and the Fountain of Youth minor event was quite interesting. I actually went into it rather haphazardly. I had no intention of actually completing it, i just wanted to pop Golden Hind. Ended up kind of completing the entire banner. As of right now, i have every available Tempesta ship and it feels odd? I never use them but they have become my third favorite Fleet in the game, based strictly on aesthetic. I'm particularly fond of Mary Celeste, Golden Hind, and Sao Martinho. Obviously, Royal Fortune, Adventure Galley, and Whydah, also chart up there but those first three? Yeah, i can count them in the upper ranks of my favorite ships, which almost exclusively consists of Iron Blood boats. I might, if i have time later, properly raise that Fleet up but i kind of feel like i have enough to do at the moment.
Spoils of War
I've been playing Azur Lane for about three years now and, for the first time ever, i maxed out both oil and coins. I didn't even know coins had a cap. It was weird not being able to disassemble gear because i had too much cash. To be perfectly honest with you, i rarely have less than around four hundred thousand coins at any given time, mostly because the sh*t available for purchase with them, sucks. Who buys Blue Tech Boxes? Why would anyone invest in that? I mean, i get it, if you're brand new, you need all the equipment you can get but for someone like? Someone who stays gilded? Yeah, that's ridiculous. I ended up have in to cash out the entire shop, related it, and cash it out again, just to lose enough coin in order to continue the grind. All in all, even though the Events were kind of few and far in between, I had a pretty solid time with my money pit of a Gacha game. Azur Lane didn't come with the heat like last year but it was still a solid adventure worth giving a proper goodbye. 2024, you were definitely a mixed bag for me on those high seas but you were totally worth it in the end. Here's to the future and, hopefully, a few more UR Reruns and a couple more Iron Blood Carriers. Maybe combine the two and give me a goddamn Rainbow Kraut Carrier!

"Under clear skies and with temperatures in the 60s, at 1:15 p.m. on April 14 Laffey left Kerama Retto for Picket Station No. 1, where she would relieve the destroyer minelayer, USS J. William Ditter (DM-31). The USS Purdy, damaged by a kamikaze on April 12 while on Picket Station No. 1, had been moored next to Laffey. Shortly before Laffey left harbor, a sailor from Purdy cautioned his comrades about the kamikazes they would surely encounter at the same station. 'You'll knock a lot of them down, and you'll think you're doing fine. But in the end there'll be this one bastard with your name on his ticket.'"

Patriot's Phase Mt. software plc , SC Charleston, Confederacy Carolina has foresighted been a democratic tourist positioning.
