This took me some time because I wanted to fit in all the bands that are and were important to me. Well this is of course just a selection, not all of them.

L: Landing in London by 3 Doors Down

This was one of the first songs I had on my iPod as a teenager (I got all the music from my brothers). I had and still have no idea of the context, but it was perfect for daydreaming during bus rides to school.

I: I stand alone by Van Canto

The band is pretty cool, it’s an acapella metal band. Though I don’t know what they’re doing right now. I haven’t heard to this song for years, but I am right now and getting emotional again. I listened to it pretty often in the time after my sister died.

T: Time Stands still (at the Iron Hill) by Blind Guardian

This song is from their Album “Nightfall in Middle Earth” and it’s about the fight of Fingolfin and Morgoth. As a lord of the rings nerd and because I really like Blind Guardian this had to be in here. And honestly, I love how they implemented the Dialogue here.

T: Taste in Men by Placebo

The band and especially the video of this song were really helpful for teenage Sarah to come to terms with her bisexuality :’)

L: Loreley by Lord of the Lost

I haven’t known this band for that long, but we went to a concert of them in february and it was SO great. Also I love their style, especially in this video. And the singers voice is awesome.

E: Edge of the Blade by Epica

I love symphonic metal and I started listening to Epica during my time at University and also saw them in concert where they also played this song.

W: Welcome to the black Parade by My Chemical Romance

I was an emo kid as a teenager, so of course I have to put MCR in here. And this just was the first song I heard of them and it still is iconic.

A: A beautiful Lie by 30 Seconds to Mars

Part of my teenage emo years was also 30 stm, so I wanted them in here. I almost completely lost interest in them now, but that video is pretty.

S: Seemann by Apocalyptica feat. Nina Hagen

I still love Apocalyptica and their concept. And I love Nina Hagen’s voice! This is such a good combination. And tbh I like it a lot better than the original by Rammstein.

H: Hier werd ich nicht alt by Jennifer Rostock

Another german one! I loved them as a teenager, but lost interest in their later stuff. I know there was a video of this, but I couldn’t find it, only the live version. But it’s also pretty good. At parts even better :D

B: ...But home is nowhere by AFI

Ok, now this one is important because it was my ABSOLUTE favorite band as a teenager. And this song was pretty important to me. I still get that feeling when I listen to it. It has everything I loved about this band.

E: Ever Dream by Nightwish

Ok I can’t say if AFI or Nightwish were my favorite band. At least I do actually still listen to Nightwish at a regular basis. Now this song is one of my favorites (and somehow it was hard for me to find songs beginning with an E, so I went for this one). This is from the era when Tarja Turunen still was the singer, but Floor Janses is great singing this as well, so it took me some time to decide which version I link. I went for Tarja, as she did the original, but if you like it, check Floor’s version as well.

A: American Idiot by Green Day

Greend Day needs to be mentioned as well, an honestly that song just fucking slaps. Also this was an album over which I really connected with my sister, so nice memories :D

R: Red Flag by Billy Talent

To complete my most heard bands during my teenage years, also I love their new stuff. But that is still a favorite for me. Even tho I woul’ve rather picked Devil in a midnight mass, if I had a d in my URL.

Are there any books you started this year that you need to finish?

Yes, yes there are! I just started Megan Miranda’s Come Find Me and I still have few books from Hagenheim series by Melanie Dickerson to finish...and I guess Neal Shusterman is giving me a side-eye because I was supposed to read Dark Fusion and Scythe, but I just keep postponing it.

Do you have an autumnal book to transition into the end of the year?

“autumnal book”? If it means what I think it means, then no, I don’t

Is there a new release you’re still waiting for?

What are three books you want to read before the end of the year?

Well, I want to finish what I started, so definitely Come Find Me. I’m not sure I will be able to squeeze in any more than that one.

Is there a book you think could still shock you and become your favorite book of the year?

The only candidate to that title is Come Find Me since it’s most likely going to be the last book I’m going to read this year, but I’m only a few chapters in, so it’s too early for me to tell.

Have you already started making reading plans for 2020?

In fact, I have. I promised myself I will read all the popular-on-tumblr books (so I could know what are you on about). You know which ones. I have a whole list and once I will be done with uni I will be reading and reading and reading and...
