Bonjour ! Quick question: In S02E01 (Le Collectionneur) what does Marinette say right after Chat Noir says "J'suis épaté", around 14:30 ? The "Stop your smooth talk and do something" part, I hear "Arrête ton baratin" but then I'm stuck, is it "face à l'action"? One more thing: will there be French transcripts like the ones you posted here before? (Because I'll probably have more questions ^^) I checked the FAQ but I'm not sure. Thank you so much for everything you do, you guys are awesome

Studyblr introduction!

Hello everyone! I’m Astrid, and I want to welcome you all to my own nook of the internet. This is where I’ll document my language learning journey, as well as other academic endeavors. This post is all about who I am, and what I want to do on this platform.

About me:

I’m Norwegian and 17 years old

My birthday is 30th of July 2002 (a leo!!)

I’m very interested in languages, specifically French

I did a study abroad year this year in Québec, Canada, but it was cut short due to the virus outbreak.

I speak Norwegian and English fluently, I’m a B2 in French, and an A2 in Korean. I also understand Danish and Swedish, and I like to read books in those languages a lot.

After High School, I plan on studying teaching, and after that maybe study translating (as that is my real dream-job, although it’s not a very stable career).

Interests:

I play the sims 4 a lot these days!

I love music, there is always music playing when I’m doing whatever

I’m into Kpop, but my taste in music is pretty diverse, and I listen to a bunch of music from all genres.

I play the piano, the guitar and the ukulele

My biggest hobby is probably reading, I love challenging myself to see how much I can read every month

Why a studyblr?

Right now, I don’t have regular classes, because I was sent home from my school in Quebec, and do not have a spot at the local high school. I think it’s going to be tough to start my last year of high school after a five months hiatus, so I decided to do some studying on my own.

I love the studyblr community, and how we all work together to lift each other up and motivate each other to do our very best.

Goals for this blog:

I’m aiming to do the 100 days of productivity challenge!

Make original posts about languages, books I read, and my daily studying

Make friends and become a part of a community!

Lectures de Noël : French Books for Christmas!

Believe me when I say I searched far and wide to find some French Christmas reads, and by that I mean French novels written by French authors.

First of all, I haven’t read any of these yet, so I can’t really tell if they’re any good, I’m basically judging by the description, the theme and...well, the covers (can you blame me?) Not that I had much choice; those are pretty much the only contemporary Christmas novels I could find, not counting the translated ones (there are TONS of these if you want, but I wanted authentic French stuff).

If you happen to know any other French books (by French authors) that fall under this category please let me know! :)

Anyway, let’s cut to the chase:

Y aura t-il trop de neige à Noël ? This one is a collection of 12 short stories written by six different authors who are, as the book cover says, “the stars of French romantic comedy”.

Mon ex, sa copine, mon faux mec, et moi by Juliette Bonte, is - true to its title - about a young woman named Chloé who goes on a work trip but has to deal with her ex being there too, along with his drop-dead gorgeous fiancé with whom he cheated on Chloé. In an attempt to save herself from this awkward situation, she brings along a stranger to pose as her boyfriend.

Une bonne raison d’aimer Noël by Elsa Carat is about a young woman who dreads spending Christmas with her family, but a guest invited by her sister might just change her mind about Christmas time.

Panique sous le sapin by Valérie Bel is about a guy who gets into trouble for swapping the Christmas presents of the two women in his life. Serves him right if you ask me but hey I haven’t read the book yet :D

BONUS:

Noël, le kit de survie by Marianne Levy (which is basically a Christmas advent calendar, a blog post for every day of December up until the 25th).

I know most of these (okay all of them) fall under the category of Christmas chick-lit but that’s what I was looking for; a light, fluffy read. At least I hope so, haha!

Punctuation rules

Commas

- Used to separate the elements of a list or clauses in a sentence

- Can’t be used in front of o and y

Numbers

- In Spain and most Latin America: Periods are used in numbers bigger than 1000 and commas are used for decimal numbers (e.g.: 1.256,47)

- Mexico, Puerto Rico, and the U.S: Commas are used in numbers bigger than 1000 and periods are used for decimal numbers (e.g.: 1,256.47)

Question and Exclamation Marks

- Used at the beginning and end of a question/exclamation

e.g.: ¿Qué tal?, ¡Eres estupenda!

- If the sentence contains more than a question/exclamation, only frame the question/exclamation

e.g.: Oye, ¿te has enterado de lo que le pasó a María?, Como me vuelvas a robar el lápiz, ¡lo pagarás!

- If a sentence contains both a question and an exclamation in the same statement, it is possible to start with one punctuation sign and end with another

e.g.: ¡Que lástima, estás bien?

- It is possible to use up to three question/exclamation marks in one statement

e.g.: ¡¡¡Te odio!!!

Period

- Used to write the time (instead of the colon)

e.g.: Son las 5.45

Angle quotations

- Used like quotation marks but are more common in Spain (Latin America prefers to use quotation marks)
