A concept sketch for a series of knightly orders all linked by a common rank system and coloration denotation. currently under the working title "Chromatic knights", there are multiple different orders all stemming from the same cultural background that bear an iconic color and a system of displaying such color for rank. non-knighted persons such as squires/apprentices are only allowed to wear a simple sash of the orders colors. The first rank of true knights "knight initiate" are given the honor of displaying their orders colors on the pauldron of their sword arm. the second rank, "full knight" display the colors of the order along the entirety of their sword arm. this is highest non-officer rank. The third rank, "bald knight" display the colors of the order over the entirety of their armor, save for the helm, and represent the majority of the officers. and the final major rank is "knight exemplar", whom are granted the honor of bearing the colors of the order over all of their armor, including their helm (obviously). They also dye a portion or all of their hair in colors of the order to denote rank when not wearing their helm. Knight exemplars represent the highest ranks, typically less than 5% of the knighthood is made up of exemplars. Within in each rank there are smaller sub-ranks, denoted by specific insignias, but the major ranks are the bulk of their organization system.

Just a basic color test for Valk, and the blood moon church as a whole. I really want to avoid the stereotypical bright red armor, with gold or brass accents that war cults often get as their default color. The Red Moon are not khorn worshippers, nor are they samurai, and they are certainly not super heros, so I wanted to keep their armor design more subdued, using red as an accent, not a base.
