So, I wanted to tell everybody about this anime series I discovered thanks to my girlfriend. I'm not sure if anybody else here is into it, but it's called Ladies Versus Butlers! Thus far, I think it's really funny, although I should warn people that it also contains depictions of bare breasts.

The villagers are under some sort of vampiric mind control (aka the mold?) that allows Miranda and her coven to feed on them undisturbed.

Miranda is hooked right away for obv. reasons (points to the aforementioned wife thing).

Miranda: *gradually snaps out of her frenzied inner monologue to blink at MC with a mix of confusion and reverence*

MC: "I´m looking for a dude called Heisen...*checks her palm* ...bur-BERG. HeisenBERG. Do you know where I can find him, by chance?"

Miranda: *slow blinking*

MC: *slow blinking too*

Miranda: *remembers this is her soon-to-be bride*

Miranda: "Ah...forgive my...manners. *awkward smile cause being nice is indeed quite awkward, bride or not*...Heisenberg, you say? Why, yes...I am quite familiar with that...man."

Miranda: *fights back an instinctive hiss! cause werewolf*

MC: *slowly turns around and continues down the road*

MC: *hesitantly turns around cause, despite being the only other person present besides Strange Lady, she still doubts whether that nickname was actually meant for her cause...whut?*

This was supposed to be a sexy vampire thing and then it turned into reincarnation & vampires vs werewolves with MC in the middle of it all cause our girl might just be the only one capable of uniting their worlds and ending a war that has been raging for centuries.

(Could this war have anything to do with a certain someone dying at the hands of a certain someone else? Good question. 🤔)

And it all starts with a (rather questionable) marriage.

Stacy's Tipsy Musing's – Penelope Bridgerton Hot Takes - Part 3

Ok boys and girls, we need to have a little chat about Penelope Bridgerton.

Part 2 has been out now for a couple of days and there have been a lot of hot takes to come out of the season. A LOT of hot takes. I’m going to break this down into 4 parts like I did for Colin ((Part 1, 2, 3, 4, Bonus). 4 questions that I'm seeing really bad hot takes about Penelope.

Not surprising I see lots of hot takes about Pen, because either A) people cannot handle a woman complex emotions and facets, B) hate on a woman who does not fit societal norms and standards or C) are stans who refuse to see that all characters have imperfections which make them even more delicious to watch.

Last time we talked about Colin’s entrapment statement to Pen and her reaction to it.  Question 1,   Question 2, now lets get to question 3:

Why didn’t Show!Pen give up Lady Whistledown like Book!Pen did?

Ok let’s talk Book vs Show. In the book she’s 28, but in the show, she’s just turned 20 and in the book she’s already been Whistledown for 12 years, much longer than the 3 in the show. So, she’s built an actual empire in the show and has been doing this for a very long time in her life. By the end of the book, she’s ready to give this up and move on to her novel.

In the show, this is still new hat to her. She has accomplished much, yes, but for her, its still something she’s trying to make her own. She still wants to see if this is her purpose. She knows she feels lost when she tries to give it up, that she feels that something in her is telling her that it’s not right to let it go. And I think she resents that Colin continually keeps asking her to do that.

I also think its very early in the series for her to give this up. I have high suspicions that Ben is next and even though I have not read his book, I know that LW plays a part in that story still since we skipped over him in the series, so I assume the writers want to keep LW as a part of it and make Pen the first Regency official journalist. So, Pen will use her sources, the butlers, maids, cooks, etc, where she gets her information. I have a feeling we will see her continue to determine if this is where she wants to continue with her writing and maybe that is part of Season 4 with her finding her purpose in her eventual novel.

But I really think they just felt it was still too new for Pen. As she stated to Eloise, Whistledown is power, and Pen was not ready to let all of that go. A woman in that era had no voice, no power, and with her quill she found that even as Penelope, she could be a force to be reckoned with. And just like her now published husband, her name is associated with her written word. That is powerful indeed.

In the show Portia tells her women give up their dreams for their husbands, I loved how when she did that, she burned her LW pamphlets at the same time as Colin finally got past his writers’ block and began soaring. And my heart pained. As a strong-willed woman, with daughters myself, I would never, could never imagine this for my girls. I would say we live in a different time, but I will also say for the sake of argument, with the way society has come for women and our rights in the past few years, this season hit different. Perhaps it’s why I appreciated the themes that much more.  Never give up your dream’s ladies, not for anything, especially men.

So, at the end of all of it, after she decided to give up her identify, after she decided that she could never give up herself, her writing, and with the Queen giving her the go ahead, and her husband standing by her side, Penelope has decided to continue finding herself through her writing. And maybe that will take her to her novel, “Wallflower” and maybe it doesn’t. Maybe she becomes Mayfair’s most famous journalist, but I can’t wait to find out either way.

Ciel is Trans Theory

I Need to point this out because. I have a hunch that Ciel is Trans, and fingers crossed I’m right. Honestly, I could be completely off base and this could be as close as Ancient Aliens is to History.

This might be an overreach but here is my case for it, as best as I can:

* Based on previous events and Chapters, Yana has shown that She Likes Playing on the concept of Gender from the Very First Arc. From the Very beginning we are introduced to a woman who is Jack the Ripper, challenging the male murder stereotype on its head, and her lover, a gender ambiguous (Later Confirmed Canonically!!) Trans Reaper Lady. Both unite from their desire, and hatred for the prostitutes who beg for abortions at her clinic. There are Already wombs being ripped out of women and we’ve just started.

* The Fact that Ciel is Dressed extremely effeminately not only for the period, even for EGL clothing standards might point to something as well. But when forced to wear a dress for the sake of a mission, he loses his mind. Although it could be a tween’s worst nightmare, how Madame Red laments to Ciel when dressing him as a girl that she always wanted a daughter feels like something.

* Ciel is always referred to as beautiful, which is not wrong for the period, but there are less masculine terms that people refer to him as.

* Yana herself says that she Over Masculinizes Ciel. Which is an interesting take for his effeminate nature of dress Vs masculine personality?

* Another hot take is that Yana Specifically has instructed in certain live action and anime for the voice actor to be a woman. I’ve seen a lot of talk on this particular conversation but none highlighting this as a clue on our Ciel’s Identity??? How??

* Mey Rin is also have been hidden as a boy with her previous life as a sniper, so this also shows that this is not out of the question either. The same reveal has happened with Doll.

* Ciel does not let anyone get close to his body. This is obviously because traumatic stress behaviors, however, similar flinching could allude to a different reason entirely.

* Our Lad introduces himself as the “Earl Ciel Phantomhive” Earl almost being apart of his first name. He’s already changed his name to hide his past. But Why?

* Let’s pretend that Ciel was in fact, born a boy at birth. If his brother and parents died, even if he was considered a “Spare Child”, (remember the British Phrase an Heir and a Spare). He would still be a legitimate hier due to his brother being unable to claim inheritance (because of his death) and pass on something to him. Even if another family member became a guardian and inherited a majority to raise our ciel, he would still be entitled to Something, and (might) even become Earl. This would Not be the case if Ciel was born a girl.

* Two Cultural similarities Japanese Manga and the Victorian period have in common are the troupe of “women disguising themselves as men”. I put this in quotes because, as Ciel described it, “the old him died in his cage,” pointing to metaphorical metamorphosis, and not simply a disguise for convient’s sake. Although it was common for (transgender men, queer cis women and/or Cis women) to take on a male position / pseudonym in order to establish a title, or a job position (typically in writing, this continued until the 1960’s). Now add on the popular manga/anime that were important in playing with perceptions of gender during Black Butler’s Debut (think Ouran High school host club), and there’s something there.

* The Fact that no one mourned Ciel’s Death was unfortunate, but a critical plot point of the story. Up until now, no one even acknowledged Our Ciel had ever Existed. Not a name, not “twins” nothing. Even though our Lad was an ill child, no one had even acknowledged he was there to begin with. Women and children were rarely recognized in Victorian culture, let alone a “Woman Child”. This culture was challenged somewhat through literature in the early ‘30’s with works from Jane Austen, ‘47 with Charlotte Brontë (who went by a pseudonym) and Lewis Carol’s Alice and the Looking Glass at the end of the century. (introducing a Girl Protag!! Gracious!). As sad as it may be, no one would really mourn an terminally ill girl compared to her family’s murder, unless having accomplished something amazing. It would be seen unfortunately as a lifted burden, and ultimately one less dowery or added expense. The fact that no one even bothered to notice our Ciel’s death or even the toll it might have on his twin is evident enough.

* The most Damning evidence I have for this theory is Lizzy’s reaction to figuring out “Ciel” was not the real “Ciel”. The immediate turn against Ciel. Why wouldn’t she even hear him out? What could have possibly turned her away like that, without a doubt in her mind, even if she had met with the Real Ciel? The fact that her reaction was not confusion but rather an extreme turn against him, she did not even think one minute to give Our Ciel a chance. And the only possible reason (combined with the fact that he was lying about not being his brother) is that if he was Not Cis. Not only would that mean that she was with the sick weaker sibling not heir to the Phantomhive legacy, but Ciel Could never conceive a family with Elizabeth, nor marry her like she would have wanted. And even if she married him, they would never be able to have children of their own (a really big obsession with British Aristocracy- modern day source: royals). All of her dreams would be shattered. And that shattering would bring her to turn instantly.

* The fact that everyone automatically assumed our ciel was real ciel, just based on saying so. Why?

* The fact that sick girls were often dressed like male counterparts to strengthen them during this era, as well as androgynous clothing for children being in fashion (because of less washing headaches and hand-me-downs)

* A smaller, minor detail is how Sebastian says “When lies become truth”. This is pointing towards both their façades but an interesting quote none the less on transitioning.

* I’m pointing to his teeny shoes with the high heels. It’s not that they’re effeminate women’s shoes that are iffy for the period, (which let’s be clear, they are) but. Look at him. Trying his best to be tall adult man. I’m pointing at his shoes.

* I might be missing a lot. Tell me if I am.

2) Some people have March Madness. I now have the Hot & Vintage Movie Women tournament. 

One of the best parts of the tournament (you may remember that Toshiro Mifune won the male matchup) is people reblogging and submitting pictures, further bio information, and personal anecdotes--that sense of the Tumblr collective scrapping for the pure love of their blorbos. I love Edwige Fenech’s eyes and her iconic eyeliner, and I had to step in when she went up against powerhouse Julie Andrews with only one small picture. No, I’m not letting Edwige go out like that. She won’t win, but the people must make their choice knowingly. 

I also posted some pictures for Lady Tsen Mei, because I’d actually never heard of her and was curious. Also, because she’s going up against Musidora and that’s not an easy row to hoe, either. If you see matchups like that, where hotvintagepoll didn’t receive much to post about an actress--appealing to the people with a good picspam in the reblogs is where the fun comes in. 

Bear in mind that running the tournament is an INCREDIBLE amount of work; this was Friday alone. Like, I don’t know the person who’s running this, but it couldn’t be me. They’re working with what they were sent, and here’s how we can be the propaganda we want to see in the world. I will jump in as necessary when Ava Gardner, Gene Tierney, Norma Shearer, Paulette Goddard, and (on my mom’s behalf) Julie Christie show up. But there’s 512 contenders, and it’s going to be a hard fight. 

(I am now reblogging the polls at only one an hour, and when I fall behind, that just means that people who missed them can catch up. Each poll lasts a week, after all.)

Ladies and gentlemen, the day has come! No, it's not what you've been waiting for (I'm no good at that), but!

BROTHER vs FATHER

A very interesting development... a dementor trying to fight against a gardener.

Candidate 1A also gave a handkerchief and a magic bracelet. Both are practical, +3 points. Candidate 2A ordered a lot of jewellery and a jeweller, but in this respect he is beaten by the butler, who, unfortunately, is not present in the game today.

Let's see...

Candidate B2 sent a lot of romantic letters, gave an EXTRAORDINARY dress (it was so bright that the photographer couldn't take a picture of it!..), a lot of jewellery, crossbows and... the list is not bad, so +8 points. We also found out that candidate B2 gave a ticket to hug the crown prince in the caves...

Candidate B1, unfortunately, cannot boast of such wealth. He made a different gift: he brought a person who is like a former classmate for Penelope: you hoped to never meet she at your university.

TSUNDER vs PARANOID

Candidate C1 gave a neck salve, which allowed him to flirt with Candidate C2 and take care of Penelope, +2 points for comedy from the audience. Candidate C2 gave many, many handkerchiefs (but also rabbit-shaped!) and a rabbit, +3 points. However, one of the handkerchiefs and the rabbit were talking, so you were deducted 2 points. But you gave practical boots, which got you 2 points!

Candidate C2 also made fireworks! Although it was later than your birthday, it was so powerful that even the guild burned down! +4 points for hot temper!

At one point Melania hands Peter a golf club and the promise of a sex if he gets rid of Trump.

Melania may be hoping for a ‘Peter with a golf club’ criminal investigation accelerate her and Barron’s futures post-Trump?

So Melania may also be thinking but not saying that what a GREAT COINCIDENCE it was that

That’s one scenario.

On the other hand Dark Money may be worried that Trump has the six Opus Dei SCOTUS judges on his enemies list for turning down his plea not to release his taxes to New York State.

An ultra-conservative kid who worked for big hedge fund spraying bullets overhead [**] may have been meant as a warning not to mess with SCOTUS.

I don’t see any scenario in which the Democrats see an advantage in Trump as a martyr - the Dems raise too much money from being the only other choice in thd 67th or 68th ‘most important election of your lifetime.’

As long as Trump’s alive inspiring MAGAs will energize voting the local theocratic patriarchal narcissus out of local and state offices 2026 &. 2028.

Obviously by the time the RNC Harris was already in as the new candidate. Assassinating Trump would have killed the pure joy of his being gobsmacked by the old switcheroo right after the RNC. Joy anticipated from Dark Brandon on down.

Whatever the scenario those Secret Service agents are too well trained in what to do. Whatever that was thatthe world saw on July 13 had to be a deliberate violation of massive amounts of protocols.

In every scenario but the lone gunman vs the Keystone Kops there will be an ongoing murder investigation.

Someone is going to flip because it’s life without parole.

Such an indictment may remain sealed until after the Election for the same reasons the Court acceded to postponing Trump’s Felony sentencing.

Haunted Mansion Old vs. New

Saw The Haunted Mansion today at the theater. It's pretty good! They maybe have a few too many characters we don't get to know as well in favor of focusing on the main character (I get why, but tbh a lot of the others seemed to have more interesting backstories so I kind of wish they'd maybe combined one of them into the main character), but they had a lot of fun one liners, easter eggs, and good story. Everything makes relative sense

I say this in comparison to the 2003 movie we watched before to remind ourselves how that one went, and show it to my nephew who had never seen it. The new one is honestly a VAST improvement. Watching the old one just made me realize how dumb Eddie Murphy and his family was, especially the wife.

Like, Eddie Murphy was typical workaholic dad from your 90s to 2000s build, like Robin Williams in Hook or Jim Carey in Liar Liar. Kids are...Kids. But the wife? Woman gets a call from a creepy voice asking for only her to come view the house when she and her husband are both realtors? That should've been an immediate click of the phone, that is some serial killer shit. Puts up with her husband? Questionable. Like even he can't really justify why he keeps putting work first and like...that kind of takes away his motivation for everything too. But, house is creepy and covered in cobwebs with a cemetery in the back? Oh, but the architecture! Can't find find her husband and the "charming" master of the house keeps looking at her with googly eyes, telling her tragic tales from a hundred years ago like he was there, and remarking on his lost love? Red flags everywhere, but she still follows him to the attic!

The man has to come out and directly say he thinks she's the reincarnation of his lover and reveal he's a ghost before realizing something is wrong. And she's just kind of...blah. Her character is just "the lady to be fought over who is also a mother and a realtor".

Also, the story didn't make much sense as to why they had ghosts from all over the world and history in this one mansion, hand-waving it as being just a magnet for them--yet to be honest you only ever really see them in the graveyard, for like less than five minutes. The only ghosts used as characters are originals who are just a maid and a footman, none of the ones from the ride, and no other ghosts besides the butler work against the family. Instead you get a bunch of zombies in the crypt, I'm guessing because they worked so well in Pirates of the Caribbean. But because there are hardly any ghosts, you don't see a whole lot of allusions to the ride either besides the graveyard and the climax is a little lackluster, with the butler literally being dragged to hell after admitting he killed his master's lover because she wasn't good enough via a giant fire serpent that we never see in the ride. I mean, zombies weren't in the original Pirates ride, but they are at least explicitly zombie PIRATES and they work it into the setting fairly well. Explicitly showing heaven and hell at the end and moving on the ghosts was kind of jarring but also it's over really fast for being the supposed final boss. And begs the question why he never was taken before--the curse is never really explained. The new lays out why the ghosts are there, why they are trapped, and has a showdown between an army of ghosts and the protagonists, which works a lot. Looking at it compared to the new one, it's obvious they put a lot more thought into the 2023 version.

New one makes a lot more sense in the story, with them having just kept summoning ghosts trying to find one specific one, and accidentally summoning an evil spirit. The antagonist makes sense, the ghosts are front and center to the story, including just the shear number, the effects are nice, there's lots of visual easter eggs for fans and cameos, and death and the afterlife are prominent in the story while still being relatively inclusive and kid friendly (though some of the jokes are darker, I wouldn't say they were inappropriate. There is a lot of reference to murder though. Surprisingly no hanging bodies like the first though!). It falters a little here and there,including one part of the climax being a little eh for me, but I won't spoil it and it's still better than the 2003 one. I will say I wish they did more with the camera idea because I'm a sucker for Fatal Frame type scenarios and it felt like they dropped it too soon. Oh, but they made Madame Leota a Russian medium/spiritualist who catered to royalty and dressed like a noble rather than using "g*psy" a whole bunch and playing into that stereotype, so that was nice. Every blah moment is balanced with something I really like, so it's all pretty good.

I had no idea Jared Leto was playing the Hatbox Ghost, but you never actually see Leto himself so...eh. Not my first choice, but he does a good job with the voice, I will give him that...begrudgingly. Just hope he didn't do any method acting for this one.

Basically I think it's worth the watch if you want some family friendly ghost stuff and a popcorn flick with a decent amount of heart too it. Could it have been better? Well yeah, but so can most things. Maybe I'll do something more detailed another day but if you like Disney and like the haunted mansion ride, I don't think you'd be disappointed with this one.

Attempted Exorcism

Another sequel to my on going Sebard thing that I've been doing. Here's part 1, part 2, part 3, and part 4.

Warnings: Blatant racism against Native Americans in this beginning part.

Once in the distant past, when Bardroy was a soldier, still caked in the blood of Apache, and still grieving and Mad (in more than one way), he was patched up in a church in a small town.

After all there were no big building brick hospitals and ladies with masks.

There were only Priests and Sisters, and more Praying than actual Medicine.

And the Priest at this particular church had also seemed.. Mad.

(In one way more than the other.)

"The demons out there will come for this town soon enough," he'd mutter to himself while shaking his head at the wounded soldiers.

"..you men are lucky they merely did this to you."

"Demons, Father..?" one soldier hissed through the pain.

"Yes. Demons who merely look like men. On horses and on foot. With their black magic.. and their bows and arrows..."

The priest had held a bible in one hand and raised his other, diving into prayer to likely calm himself from his tangent.

The wounded soldiers had all looked at each other; Well, those of them awake enough to care.

And Bard had stayed in his corner, military hat tilted to cover his face so he could get shut eye.

"I don' think their.. evil like demons an' such, Father... Jus' men like us.. " One man carefully tried.

"You really think demons cannot disguise themselves in the form of man? You poor boy..."

He'd then gone on to another tangent of the angry sort, as all the boys were stuck there in that church, still healing, and having no choice but to listen..

Most of them knew better.

Knew that there was no such thing.. The Natives were just as much human as they were, and it was a man vs man kind of war. Nothing more than that.

But it was funny how.. in a sense.. the damn crazy old man had been right.

Just that he'd had no idea...

Bardroy sat on the floor, gun firmly in his hands.

He sat there across from Ciel Phantomhive's bedroom door.

And he waited.

With a ring of salt on the floor between him and that door.

And he waited.

With his gun clutched tight in his hands and close to his chest.

And he waited.

Until the colors of the hall started to turn from dark, gradually to light.

And he heard footsteps approaching.

And he straightened and cracked his neck, and then finally turned where he sat to look up.

At the butler who came at dawn, like he did every day, with his trolley of earl gray for the young master.

And Bardroy stood up finally and stretched and groaned, just like he did every morning rising from a sleepless night.

"Good morning," the butler said with no hesitation.

And he kept pushing the trolley up closer to the door.

Bardroy watched.

And watched.

And watched.

And-

Sebastian stepped up to the door and lifted his hand to wrap on it.

Bardroy lunged, and pointed his gun.

Sebastian stilled.

Knuckles inches from the door.

Facing it.

While Bard's gun was pointed directly into the back of his head.

"...I see it's not a good morning after all."

"Get away. From. The door."

"Why?"

Sebastian didn't bother to hide the tired, annoyed tone in his voice.

"You fucking know why. I know why yer here. I know. An' if it takes more than salt t'kill ya then FINE I'll fuckin' improvise."

Sebastian couldn't hold back sighing now. He whirled about and eyed the man.

"I that what is littering the floor right now? You've gone and wasted salt on something like this?"

He looked down at the afore mentioned leavings and scowled, dragging his polished shoe through it to move it around and judge it.

"This is just.. unbelievably stupid," he tsked, shaking his head.

And then he looked up to meet Bard's eyes.

"Do you know-"

Bang.

Ciel jolted, waking to the sound of a gun shot. And one right outside his door.

He scowled and groaned, then squinted his eyes open...

....It was morning??

And there were STILL GUNSHOTS???

Another groan left him and the boy instinctively grabbed his pillow and then promptly slammed his own head down so he could cover it with his pillow.

Well, if everyone was still too busy fending off intruders, maybe that meant he could sleep in!

...

Until he started hearing muffled shouts.

The tone sounded like Bardroy's voice.

And it sounded an awful lot like he was saying...

"C'mon, c'mon... fuck!! SEBASTIAN?? FUCK, SEBASTIAN!!! WAKE UP, C'MON, PLEASE!!"

The earl swung the door open, both eyes- blue and purple -huge and and scared.

And right in front of his door was a kneeling Bardroy.

Sebastian Michaelis in his clutches with a giant red gunshot wound in his forehead, bleeding out.

Blood was splattered everywhere on the floor.

As well as.. white powder of some kind...?

And...

The tea trolley.

...

Oh, and a gun at Bardroy's side.

"Please, please don't go, fuck, don't go, I fuckin- I.. I didn't- I.. fuck... Sebastian fuck me I'm so sorry...."

Bardroy was rocking back and forth and clutching the bleeding butler.

And through sweat and tears barely registered the young master having opened his bedroom door.

But a second later he jolted and whimpered and clutched the butler in his arms tighter.

"I... I... I sh-shot 'im... y-young master I ... I thought... I'm so..."

The boy slowly stepped closer.

Walking over blood and salt.

And stared down at the wound in the butler's skull in particular.

Staring.

"I... I thought I should.... kill him... c-cause he's... c-cause he's... a... "

"Sebastian," young master called, tone firm and demanding.

Bardroy shook and shook his head, bowing it.

"It won't.... no, it won't work.. young master, it won't work, he's-"

"SEBASTIAN," the boy intoned again, firmer. Demanding.

It felt something like deja vu in this moment...

"Young... Master... He's gone, I really.. I shot him, okay?? I shot SEBASTIAN IN THE 'EAD AND-"

Slap.

The boy glowered at the chef after he'd slapped him, his anger and frustration strong enough to help him ignore the pain of hitting such an older person like that.

"He's been through much worse than THIS you idiot. If you must know..."

The boy sighed and straightened up, pinching the bridge of his nose as he tried to think.

It was too damn early for this...

"But.. the bullet's.. right there and I.. I did it. I shot him. And.. How..."

Sighing loudly, the young earl turned and paced away, rubbing his face and then scratching his messy bed head.

"Wh... I.. he'll recover...? From a shot to the....?"

the earl sighed, crossing his arms and stopping his pacing to again look at the mess in front of his bedroom door.

...

"...Why the hell is there salt everywhere??"

Eventually the young earl convinced the chef to finally get up and move Sebastian to his quarters.

And quickly so that no one saw them and the wound in the butler's head..

...Which the boy wondered if maybe he should at least get the chef to remove, if... he could.

But then he recalled Sebastian simply.. regurgitating bullets.

And he figured he'd... leave it be.

For maybe a few hours to see what happened to it in the butler's.. skull...

And it was at this point the boy decided to get to the real issue at hand.

"So, Bardroy," he finally spoke, staring at the man as he hunched over the butler in bed, still staring at the bullet wound.

"Why did you shoot Sebastian this morning?"

Bard closed his eyes and shook his head.

"I.. think I was havin'.. one of my episodes, my lord... I just.. blacked out and shot 'im. Next thing I knew I was.. there in the hall and Sebastian was..."

"...Uh huh."

The earl stepped closer and leaned in.

Until Bard blinked and the boy was in his face.

Staring with two eyes.

One blue.

One purple with a pentagram in it.

"Bardroy..."

The older man stared into the young earl's face.

Only fourteen years old.

Hair still mussed from his pillow.

Still baby fat in his cheeks.

His glare not powerful enough to scare even a kitten, really.

Bardroy shut his eyes again.

"...I didn't know what I was expectin'. I just.. wanted to try. To see if.. it would work."

"...In what way?"

"...That... if anythin' you'd be.... free?"

Bardroy opened his eyes again after a second.

And saw the boy still leaned in, looking in his face.

But now smiling.

Smug and smirkity and eyebrows down.

And he shook his head as if disappointed.

And then straightened and turned for the door.

"That's not how it works, Bard. Never has. Never will."

Said the fourteen year old.

Long after he was gone Bardroy still sat there, staring at the butler's face.

The eyes now shut. (He'd shut them himself they've been frozen open staring)

The pale thin face.

The pure black locks.

The thin line those lips were in.

The bullet wound still in his forehead.

The butler still as a statue.

And the chef not sure what to make of this....

And he leaned in.

And he carefully lowered his head to where a heart in a man's chest normally beat.

....And he heard nothing.

And again the man was choking up. Fingers shaking and wanting to reach out and grab the man in the bed.

He couldn't... He couldn't deal with this! AGAIN!!!

But young master had said "He's been through much worse than THIS".

And so Bardroy stayed.

With the butler in his bed.

A wound in his skull.

And no heartbeat in his chest.

What is a murdergirl?

A murdergirl is a character who:

Is female

Either commits murder, commits attempted murder, or directly or indirectly causes a significant amount of otherwise avoidable death, e.g. by starting a war, or knowingly allowing a preventable disaster to happen

The fandom for the piece of media they're from absolutely does not know how to be normal about them. ("[x character] did nothing wrong" vs "[x character] is the literal devil" type arguments, for one example)

(with the murdergirls I also think the girlbossification of their actions is also a common element, such as replying to someone listing the character's crimes with "good for her <3" or "god forbid a woman do anything 😤". that's just a personal observation rather than a requirement though)

So what are we doing here?

Simple, silly! Having found tumblr's official Ultimate Murderboy (congrats again Guillermo), we're now running a tournament to find tumblr's ultimate murdergirl!

(Before you attack me for you your fave not making the list: the list was originally nearly 50 before I narrowed it down to the required 32. Turns out tumblr is absolutely full to bursting with female characters who kill people who no-one in their fandom is normal about. It was very very hard but I did my best to represent as wide a scope of media as possible while still making sure people who absolutely HAD to be there were there. I'm going to go into movie 4 with very low expectations but I do hope Shouto uses a fire phosphor move but since it takes place before the war I'm not sure how much he can do.

Well, it takes place days before the war, possibly on the same day we saw Mt Lady to tell them to split into 3 groups for the search. By that point, we already saw Shoto “figuring it out” and won’t be an anime spoiler, since the movie comes out after Toya vs Shoto.

I also have pretty low expectations - butler guy seems designed to be Rody Soul 2.0 - popular VA and addition to the Deku harem.

But one thing I liked in WHM was how Shoto got better action moves that he ever gets in the manga. So I hope to see some flashfire moves, as well as some cool Phosphor stuff maybe.
