LMK OC COMPETITION - ROUND 1
Yangwu Jin belongs to @littlethingsrae
Lady Obsidian belongs to @miccadomini
Learn more about them below the cut!
Yangwu Jin:
Yangwu Jin is the Granddaughter of Sanzuwu, the last Celestial Sun Crow - Jin was given life by Bìxiá Yuanjun (the Goddess of Dawn and Destiny) to one day take over the mantel and ultimately ease the stress on the Goddess' oldest friend.
Jin is enthusiastic and kind-hearted, always regarding others with the grace and patience that comes with being a Celestial. She’s fascinated by those outside of the Celestial sphere and mortal life in general, once you get to know her some of the ‘poise and restrictions’ seem to vanish - she’s naturally curious, talkative and very caring for those she holds dear.
Lady Obsidian:
Name: Lady Obsidiana
Title: The Eternal Matron of Shadows
Background:Lady Obsidiana is a figure of myth and legend, an immortal being whose name is spoken with reverence and awe throughout the realms. Her existence is shrouded in mystery, with few truly knowing the full extent of her powers or the depths of her kindness. Though her magic is rooted in the darkest of arts, she wields it sparingly, aware of the balance between light and shadow. Instead of ruling over the world with her formidable abilities, she has dedicated her life to protecting those most vulnerable—the orphans and abandoned children who find themselves lost in a world that often forgets them. Personality: Lady Obsidiana exudes an aura of elegance and authority, her presence commanding respect without uttering a word. Draped in flowing robes as dark as midnight, she moves with a grace that belies her power. Her eyes, like pools of endless night, reflect both the sorrow of centuries past and the wisdom of ages. Despite the darkness within her, she is a figure of nurturing care, her heart going out to those who have been discarded by society. She is gentle with the children she protects, but her enemies know her to be a force of nature, capable of wielding her magic with terrifying precision. Current Residence:Hidden deep within an enchanted forest, Lady Obsidiana’s sanctuary is a place of refuge and safety. This location is cloaked in powerful magic, making it nearly impossible to find unless she’s allows it. The sanctuary is home to countless children who were abandoned or orphaned, all of whom are cared for by Lady Obsidiana and a select group of trusted individuals. The sanctuary is a place of warmth and light, a stark contrast to the power Lady Obsidiana holds within her.
Friend: Pigsy: Although gruff, Pigsy supplies Seraphina and the sanctuary with food and other necessities, ensuring the children are well-fed and healthy.
Enemy: The Demon Bull King: A former ally turned enemy, the Demon Bull King sought to use Lady Obsidiana’s dark powers for his own conquest. When she refused, a bitter rivalry was born. The Demon Bull King now seeks to destroy her sanctuary, knowing it is the source of her compassion and strength.
Ex-Lover: Sun Wukong (Monkey King): Centuries ago, Lady Obsidiana and Sun Wukong shared a passionate but tumultuous relationship. Their love was powerful, but their paths diverged. Though they parted ways, there is still a lingering connection between them, a mixture of old love and unresolved tension (and bickering).
Current Lover: Macaque: . Their bond is deep, built on a foundation of mutual understanding and shared experiences. Macaque is fiercely protective of Lady Obsidiana and often acts as her eyes and ears in the outside world.
Sibling Figure: Lady Obsidiana and Princess Iron Fan share a sisterly bond. They understand each other’s struggles and burdens, and often confide in one another. Despite their differing alignments, they maintain a deep respect and affection for each other.
Abilities:
Dark Magic Mastery: Lady Obsidiana commands the dark arts with unparalleled skill, capable of casting spells that can warp reality, manipulate shadows, and summon powerful creatures of the night. Immortality: She does not age, and her wounds heal at a rapid pace, making her nearly indestructible. However, she is not invulnerable to pain.
Mind Enchantment: She can influence the thoughts and emotions of others, subtly guiding their actions without them realizing it.
Shadow Travel: Lady Obsidiana can move through shadows, allowing her to appear and disappear at will, traversing great distances in the blink of an eye. Protection Wards: She has woven powerful protective spells around her sanctuary, making it nearly impossible for those with ill intent to find or enter it.
Lady Obsidiana's powers are formidable, but like all beings, she has vulnerabilities that can be exploited. To weaken her, one must understand the sources of her strength and the rare weaknesses that can diminish her abilities.
Slight Weakening: Exposure to Sunlight for Extended Periods: While Lady Obsidiana is not harmed by sunlight, prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can slightly weaken her connection to the shadows and dark magic. Her powers become less potent during daylight hours, especially if she is kept away from shaded areas or places of darkness for an extended time.
Interference with the Sanctuary’s Wards: The protective wards around her sanctuary are a significant source of her strength, drawing on the ancient magic she wove into the land. By subtly disrupting these wards—through powerful counter-spells or rare magical artifacts designed to weaken such protections—her connection to her sanctuary and the source of her powers can be diminished, making her more vulnerable.
Use of Holy or Purifying Objects: Although not severely harmful, the presence of objects blessed with holy or purifying magic can create an uncomfortable aura around her. These objects can disrupt her focus and slightly reduce the potency of her dark spells, forcing her to exert more effort to achieve the same results.
Severe Weakening: Fire Rubies Dipped in Lava: The most effective way to severely weaken Lady Obsidiana is through the use of fire rubies that have been dipped in molten lava. These rare and powerful gems can drain her dark magic, stripping away her abilities and leaving her nearly powerless. Direct contact with such a ruby will cause her immense pain and could even render her unconscious if exposed for too long.
Breaking the Shadow Tether: Lady Obsidiana’s ability to traverse through shadows is linked to a mystical tether that binds her to the Shadow Realm. Severing this tether—through a powerful spell or a unique weapon designed to disrupt shadow magic—would drastically weaken her, preventing her from accessing her full range of abilities and leaving her vulnerable to physical and magical attacks.
Isolation from Darkness: Forcing Lady Obsidiana into a space completely devoid of shadows or darkness, such as a room bathed in pure, unbroken light, can severely diminish her powers. In such a state, she would be unable to draw upon the shadows that fuel her magic, significantly weakening her to the point where she could be subdued by less powerful opponents.
By exploiting these weaknesses, one could reduce Lady Obsidiana's formidable powers, though it would take immense knowledge and preparation to do so. However, even in a weakened state, she remains a dangerous and cunning adversary, not to be underestimated.

LGBTQ+ Disabled Characters Showdown Round 3, Wave 2, Poll 6
A character being totally canon LGBTQ+ and disabled was not required to be in this competition. Please check qualifications and propaganda before asking why a character is included.
Check out the other polls in this wave and prior here.
Eda Clawthorne-The Owl House
Qualifications:
She has a magical chronic disorder which has flare-ups, is mitigated by taking medication (potions), and has similar side effects to many real disorders such as fatigue, greying hair, and physical impairment (drains magic, a natural ability of *most witches). Unlike in other stories however, her condition is NOT ever completely cured. It does evolve and become more manageable over the course of the story, but she still experiences symptoms from it. Eda also loses one of her arms later in the story. She does get a replacement hook, but it is never shown whether she has a functional prosthetic or not. Most likely, she only has one fully functioning arm after this. As for being queer, she is in a relationship with a nonbinary person and is all but confirmed bisexual (has a secret box with the bi flag on it seriously why else would she have this). Also the owl house has a Lot of queer characters in it and I mean. just look at her. I would be surprised if she wasn't queer somehow.
Bisexual, and has a curse that affects her day to day life
Bi & lost arm and has a chronic illness metaphorically
Propaganda:
Has canonically dated both men and a non-binary person. Her curse affects her ability to use magic (and at one point outright stops it), which is very important in witch life. Said curse also causes her body parts to fall off sometimes. Many have said her curse is like a metaphor for depression but really it's more like a magic version of a physical disability (although I wouldn't be surprised if she actually also had depression).
Uuuuh she’s great and stuff idk I can’t propaganda well sorry
Ballister Boldheart-Nimona (Flim)
Qualifications:
He has a boyfriend (and then they have a sort-of-breakup but they're back together by the end) and he has a prosthetic arm.
He’s gay and missing an arm.
He’s explicitly gay, in love with a man. He loses his arm then builds himself a prosthetic while on the run like a badass.
His boyfriend cut his arm off :( he uses a prosthetic now.
His arm got chopped off after being falsely accused of killing the queen, he spends the rest of the movie with a prosthetic metal arm. His arm was also chopped off by his lover, Ambrosius Goldenloin, during said false assassination.
His boyfriend cut off his arm
Canonically has a boyfriend and built his own prosthetic
Qualifies by both being canonically disabled (amputee) + canonically gay
Propaganda:
Please plz plz vote for him
His boyfriend cut off his arm. He made himself a prosthetic. He used his arm to block someone’s sword. He kissed his boyfriend. He has sad wet cat eyes, which isn’t relevant but still. He has them.
He’s so GOOD even though he’s having like the worst day ever (specifically talking about movie but webcomic also applies). He has the biggest wettest eyes how can you not root for him????
People love him! He kinda looks like a sad, poor little cat. A real soggy wet kitten man.
Let's see. He and Ambrosius are lovers, or at least boyfriends, from the moment they're introduced. Ballister gets his arm chopped off by Ambrosius during the false assassination. Ballister spends the rest of the movie trying to convince Ambrosius and the kingdom of his innocence, with a metal arm replacing his missing one. It originated the phrase "Arm Chopping is not a love language!" Did I mention he's a main character too?
Is a science nerd, built his own prosthetic arm with his non-dominant hand, accidentally adopted a trans chaos demon of a 1000yo being
A knight, Nimona's best friend and father figure of sorts, but the plot mostly revolves around him- Ballister is framed for murder and has to hide while trying to figure out who framed him and how to prove he's innocent. Nimona becomes his sidekick (he didn't want one, she just showed up at his place one day like a very chaotic stray cat) and together they form a great duo against the corrupt government. This is complicated by Ballister's ex Ambrosius, who accidentally cut off Ballister's arm and is a bit brainwashed by government propaganda. Oops. You should watch Nimona it's great 💞🦈
The qualifications and propaganda paragraphs correspond, @foulfirerebel is the fifth submitter, and there were at least 7 others.

REVIEW ROUND UP OF DUNE: PART TWO
"Ferguson delivers another beguilingly sinister turn as Jessica, arguably the most fascinating character in the whole film..." https://www.dexerto.com/tv-movies/dune-2-review-2541695/
"Rebecca Ferguson adds a hint of malevolence to the gravitas she brought to the first movie, continuing her role as Atreides’ mother and champion." https://www.avclub.com/dune-2-review-visually-ravishing-storytelling-1851274494
"Butler remains the flashier villain, but Rebecca Furgeson proves to be the film’s horrific star. Seamlessly transitioning from conscientious mother to cunning priestess, she wanders through the film continuously plotting with her pregnant belly. The mere flick of her eyes is enough to show not only dangerous instability, but the frightening calculations behind the power she’s amassing." https://femaleantagonist.com/dune-part-two-leads-a-burgeoning-franchise-into-paradise/
"Zendaya and Ferguson steal the show, providing polar opposite figures in his development. Ferguson must chart a course from a physical and emotional threat to a large-scale schemer. The character transformation comes after drinking a substance, but watching her mental evolution is something to behold." https://sunshinestatecineplex.com/2024/02/21/dune-part-two-2024/
"...it may be Rebecca Ferguson who gives the most villainous performance. Ferguson commits to making your blood boil as Lady Jessica corrupts her own son, leaving no question as to who the most vile character is." https://discussingfilm.net/2024/02/21/dune-part-two-review-denis-villeneuves-daring-epic-is-unlike-anything-weve-seen/
"Ferguson eats up every morsel of her rejuvenated, meaty role." https://freshfiction.tv/dune-part-two-review-denis-villeneuves-monumental-masterpiece/
"Chalamet and Ferguson take all that was regal and dignified about their performances, and apply to them a poisoned tip." https://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/films/reviews/dune-part-two-review-zendaya-timothee-chalamet-b2499855.html
"The rest of the cast is fine and engaged, with Rebecca Ferguson playing complex notes as a wannabe mother-of-God..."https://scottmendelson.substack.com/p/review-dune-part-two-is-an-audiovisual
"Ferguson, her face tattooed throughout much of the movie, leans into an arresting menace." https://www.latimes.com/entertainment-arts/movies/story/2024-02-21/dune-part-2-review-timothee-chalamet-zendaya-austin-butler-denis-villeneuve
"Chalamet and Ferguson’s performances are strongest when mother and son tussle about the right thing to do. Through these arguments, Chalamet sheds the boyish innocence of the first film for a darker, more complicated persona. Ferguson’s character also enters more morally ambiguous terrain when she is asked by the Fremen to become the group’s Reverend Mother." https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie-reviews/dune-part-two-review-timothee-chalamet-zendaya-1235830061/
"...but it’s Ferguson’s slippery performance and Bardem’s playful one that really add flavors here that weren’t in the first outing." https://www.rogerebert.com/reviews/dune-part-two-movie-review-2024
"Ferguson’s Lady Jessica rises to become a gripping “Dune” persona, who goes from being extremely dry in the first film to an intriguingly determined figure in “Part Two.”https://eu.usatoday.com/story/entertainment/movies/2024/02/21/dune-2-movie-review/72654598007/
"Even Rebecca Ferguson, who bristles early on in this film when it comes to her exact role in this story, blossoms into a bonafide force of Reverend Mother nature that does well to capitalize on her ability to mix vulnerability with savage confidence. Pretty much how I always envisioned Mother Mary, myself." https://inbetweendrafts.com/dune-part-two-review/
"Ultimately, it's Lady Jessica and Feyd-Rautha that reveal the true terror of unfettered belief. Watching Rebecca Ferguson stride through the Fremen's desert hideaway as she whispers to her fetus could easily fall into caricature if it weren't so chilling."https://screenrant.com/dune-part-2-movie-review/
"...this is an undoubted success, and is powered a clutch of lead performances – Chalamet, Zendaya and Rebecca Ferguson as a newly-ordained Bene Gesserit reverend mother at the shining core of the ensemble..." https://lwlies.com/reviews/dune-part-two/

Sexiest Podcast Character — Scripted Bracket — Round 2
Propaganda
Captain Isabel Lovelace (Wolf 359):
Her everything <3 But in all seriousness WHAT is more sexy than a haunted, competent, funny, cursed, vengeful, mourning, badass, doomed woman?
listen to the run and hide speech and tell me that isn't the sexiest thing you've ever heard
Hot space lady who could kill me mmm yes please!
(sort of) twice-undead space captain who wired a bomb to her heart to make sure the crew of her ship didn't kill her before her escape shuttle got working. she's funny she's a genius she knows how to use a gun and she cares very much about her crew (despite the whole bomb thing).
Lady Ethel Mallory (Hello From The Hallowoods):
Her common fandom facecanon is Lady Dimitrescu from Resident Evil. Giant Evil Lady is hot

I can’t even lie over time this pathetic little elf has grown on me and now I really like her as a character. she’s SUCH a loser. and someone said that she should’ve been recruitable instead of Halsin after uncovering the Shadow Druid plot and she could’ve had a redemption arc and now I can’t stop thinking about that alternate reality
#i have no idea if it’s a controversial opinion to like Kagha or not but#like imagine if she was sent away from the Grove. not banished but temporarily sent away to think about her actions#Halsin says she can return to the circle after she’s rediscovered the oak father’s teachings etc etc#so she can join up with you in act 1 and you get a druid then and not 2 in act 2 randomly#maybe she travels with you to find redemption. you were the one who pulled her from the brink so she thinks travelling with you#will help her do some good in this world#she can have a tense reunion with the tieflings in act 2 and she apologises. some forgive her. others don’t as is their right#and she tries so hard to redeem herself but she learns that sometimes people are still hurt by your deeds and they might not forgive you#I think it’s talking to Arabella that actually gives her growth#maybe it’s Kagha who’s involved in Arabella’s powers and her learning to tame them. Arabella who has reason of all to hate her#and it takes a while and some conversation and working together but I think Arabella forgives Kagha#she doesn’t have to and Kagha never expected forgiveness from her but she DOES and that’s what gets Kagha the most#she has a big introspective act 2 moment in the middle of the Shadow Curse#regardless she is first to suggest rescuing the tieflings from moonrise. not because she wants forgiveness but because it’s right#(to show her character growth and learning to care about the refugees)#and then her quest could tie into the Shadow Curse. she wants to do better and help people#and eventually the other tieflings start to come round to her. once she’s proved she’s actively bettering herself#the kids find her funny and Mattis definitely thinks she’s a loser and not scary or mean#like okay lady sure I forgive you whatever stop crying now#Mirkon is just a little sweetie so he forgives her as long as Arabella does and then he follows her around asking loads of questions#anyway sorry those are my thoughts I think it’d be great to have a redemption arc companion in act 1#bc Minthara is so missable if you don’t know to knock her out you just kill her#Kagha’s story would help indicate that there are hidden companions you can look out for#most of this is nonsense im so sleepy but will I stop rambling? no#also Minthara should top the hell out of this pathetic surface elf right now

Hot Vintage Stage Actress Round 2
Lisa Kirk: Emily in Allegro (1947 Broadway); Lois Lane/Bianca in Kiss Me, Kate (1948 Broadway); Doris Walker in Here's Love (1964 Broadway)
Mary Martin: Annie Oakley in Annie Get Your Gun (1947 National Tour US); Nellie Forbush in South Pacific (1949 Broadway); Peter in Peter Pan (1954 Broadway); Maria Von Trapp in The Sound of Music (1959 Broadway)
Propaganda under the cut
Lisa Kirk:
She’s so fucking stunning. She did some dubbing work for movies and her voice is all husky and sultry and I just hhrrrnngh
Mary Martin:
I just know y’all are gay for Peter Pan actresses so you better vote for the og Peter Pan lesbian
youtube
And some photos of Martin as the title character in One Touch of Venus:
She didn't think she was hot enough to play Venus, so this happened (from My Heart Belongs, her autobiography):
Richard [Halliday, Martin's husband] dealt with my problem in a most imaginative way. He asked if I had ever been to the Metropolitan Museum. Of course, I hadn’t. So he took me to that huge place, led me to where the statues are, and said, “Look, this is a Venus.” We must have seen fifty varieties: tall ones, short ones, even one who was noticeably broad of beam. All were marked “Venus.” “You see?” Richard asked. “Each sculptor has his own idea of Venus. They aren’t all Venus de Milo.” After this had sunk in, he said, “You can play Venus. You’re going to play her wearing the most beautiful clothes in the world.”
And another song that's very far from the Peter Pan image:

Animated 9: Cinderella III: A Twist In Time v Return To Never Land
Cinderella III {original-Cinderella (1950)}
It is in the words of Seamus Gorman 'A Masterpiece'. In his series reviewing the Disney Sequels it was considered the benchmark to measure all other Disney Sequels by. I don't remember which sequel got the damning 'It was good but it was no Cinderella III: A Twist in Time.' This movie has it all: time travel, characters with 3d personalities, that one iconic meme where the king says 'I forbid you to take another step' and the prince jumps out the window. Its so silly, its so fun, it is a masterpiece. Link to the Seamus Review:
~Anastasia redemption arc and character development ~The cat, lucifer, gets more screen time ~The king has a backstory
Time travel, and the prince. "But the talking mice say she's the wrong girl" " I forbid you to take another step down these stairs!" "Ok!*jumps out the window*"
Return to Never Land {originial-Peter Pan (1953)} *spoilers?*
It follows Wendy's canonical daughter Jane, in every version of the story where Peter returns to the Darling's window, he meets Jane, and this story gives her her own adventure. with Wendy as a turn of the century child, it isn't too much of a stretch to assume Jane would be growing up in the middle of a deeply contentious time in British History, that being the London bombings of World War 2, and Unlike Wendy, whom needed to understand that she didn't WANT to never grow up and embrace her coming maturity as it arrives, Jane had been thrown into a position in her family where she had needed to grow up too fast, and in her trip to Neverland understand the importance of that child-like wonder she had nearly lost.As such, she starts out deeply skeptical and frustrated by the nonsensical nature of Neverland, and being more trusting of adults than of children whose attempts of 'playing with her' were little more than bullying with the thin veneer of 'just a game', which ultimately allows her to be manipulated by Hook. But even then manages to grow attached to the lost boys and connect with Peter and due to her inability to fly for most of the movie had almost fully integrated into the world of Neverland and became the first Lost Girl by the time of the third act. While it's held back by the painfully early 00's music it's ultimately a very compelling story about a child in a deeply traumatizing situation finding temporary haven in a place untouched by the war that had so deeply distorted her worldview and ultimately reclaiming her right to have a childhood after constant danger of death and destruction had nearly wrenched it from her entirely.(also there's no racist Native American stereotypes that exist just for the sake of themselves and could have easily been some sort of fantasy species but nahhh it was the 50s so native americans were SUPER okay to be racist about/s)

Round 2
Propaganda Under Cut
Joan Watson
How were BBC Sherlock shippers so rancid about a WOMAN who wasnt even in the SAME SHOW?????
Lucy Liu real life victim of yaoi despite being on a DIFFERENT TV SHOW. And everyone was so busy hating her for getting in the way of johnlocke that they ignored the massive yuri potential of Elementary :(
she wasn't even in the same SHOW as the yaoi I've been convinced she deserves to win the entire poll. I was a Johnlocker but I did watch the first season of Elementary and it was fine????? It was totally okay????? Especially in hindsight given how hard Sherlock season four flopped. Also Lucy Liu is a queen and deserved zero vitriol for *checks notes* playing a character???? A fucking fictional character???????? Oh my god we were all SO mean to this show and we (or at least I) thought it was like The Good Fight™️, like we were defending BBC Sherlock against copyright infringement and straightwashing and Jonny Lee Miller's bizarre scarf, (it wasn't a good scarf I do stand by that) but then Elementary didn't make Holmes and Watson a couple either???? And also it didn't insult its audience constantly etc etc we've all seen the Hbomberguy Sherlock is Garbage video. This is really long sorry hashtag justice for Joan Watson.
Yona
She’s the fiancé of prince Sidon, (arranged marriage) and since Sidon is almost always shipped with link, people went feral the second they saw her. She’s genuinely very kind and cares about her people and wants Sidon to be happy! She is NOT jealous, she wants him to hang out with his Best Friend. I have seen firsthand in real-time, people being SO misogynistic and cruel, and saying she’s ugly. She’s good in a crisis, very friendly, has a great design, and she doesn’t deserve the hate in the slightest!
so the breath of the wild fandom is pretty well known for REALLY liking prince sidon aka that one really tall fish guy. and they're also really well known for shipping him with link because every fandom needs a gay ship right. so then the sequel (totk) comes around and it's revealed that sidon has a fiance now and it's not link it's some zora girl from another domain. the game hasn't even been out for a month but i've seen people act so vile towards her like yona get behind me!!!!
i think it should really be mentioned now people in her round 1 poll were literally still treating her like shes there to stop yaoi that was never intended to be canon to start this with.in the poll about criticizing people doing that.
