10. what’s something you’re excited for?

i'm currently reading 3 books recommended to me by different friends (all about love by bell hooks, the way of kings by brandon sanderson, and the anthropocene reviewed by john green) and i'm excited to text my friends what i think about them!! i've been having a lot of trouble getting back to reading for fun so it's nice to have friends as motivation

23. favorite piece of clothing?

over winter break and the beginning of this year i sewed the coquelicot skirt which is this pattern for a half circle skirt with huge 18th century inspired pockets. it's the first wearable thing i ever sewed and it's very twirly and the pockets can fit a paperback fellowship of the ring in them, i'm very proud of it and i want to make another one in a heavier fabric sometime!

30. what reminds you of home (doesn’t have to mean house… just things that remind you of the feeling of home)?

i need you to know this question sent me into a solid five minute bluescreen. the ocean. foothills on the horizon. the accent that my grandparents and aunts and uncles have, heard out of other people's mouths. roast duck wonton noodle soup. the smell of a goat farm. thit kho. lying on the floor in my dorm room. the letters from my friends that i've taped up on the wall above my desk for three years.

[discord is throwing a temper tantrum so I’m putting this here for you!!!!! It’s still the 4th in your timezone!!!!]

After the cookout, Tony had Steve sit in their bed. Then he placed the wrapped gift box on Steve’s lap and settled down next to him.

“Happy birthday, cuore mio.”

He leaned his chin on Steve’s shoulder, and watched Steve’s hands as he started to unwrap the present.

(Steve had such a way about unwrapping gifts. Where Tony would rip and tear with delight and intention, Steve cautiously found the seams, peeled off the tape with near surgical care, like the paper was worth saving.)

(There were details of Steve that Tony wished he could bottle up, wear round his neck wherever he went. This was one of them.)

Under the paper was a simple wood box. Inside the box was a watch. Leather band, military-style. Plain, relative to the ones Tony usually wore.

”It’s beautiful, Tony.”

Tony lifted his chin from Steve’s shoulder and watched his face carefully as Steve fitted the watch around his wrist.

“Does it…?”

Tony waited. Smiled.

Steve mimicked a small explosion sound.

“No, it doesn’t shoot stuff. It just ��� it tells time.”

”It’s mechanical.”

“Yeah.”

He’d also engraved “Cuore Mio” in the back.

“I made it for you.”

Steve looked at him.

“Well — I didn’t personally cure the leather band, obviously. But the parts were machined at the Tower, and I assembled the movement, the dial — and, and the hands are made from my shrapnel.”

”I — what?”

“From my chest, that I brought from Afghanistan.”

He’d kept Yinsen’s vial. He cleared his throat.

“Anyway. It’s — well, well, I changed some things. Mechanical watches are typically accurate to +/- 20 seconds per 24 hours, I brought that down to 5.6 — just — just some material and redesign things — but I committed to the mechanical part, it’s — it’s —”

Steve was smiling at him.

“— poetic.”

Tony pursed his lips.

“Okay, yeah, say something.”

Steve didn’t. He just pulled Tony for a kiss. Tony smiled into it, and relaxed in Steve’s arms. Then he pulled away, suddenly.

“So you liked it?”

”I love it.”

“Okay, good, because there’s more!”

”What?”

“There’s me. Unwrap me.”

Steve laughed warmly, took his hands to the first button of Tony’s shirt.

”Is that why you wore a dress shirt to my cookout, for that cue?”

“It was a good cue.”

Tony waited for Steve to finish exposing Tony’s collarbone, his chest. He wasn’t wearing an undershirt this time. His skin was still tender with two fresh tattoos, the sweetheart design Steve had drawn on Tony’s upper ribs, and his handwriting on Tony’s collarbone.

That was Tony’s favorite.

update: the book suggests i look up my rising and moon signs too (because of course it does 🙄) and the libra recommendations are good. fuck the pisces recs though, they don't know me at all.

also yes @lacklusterlexicon i also read the aries section since i am on the cusp of aries/taurus, and it was worse than the taurus section. sooo many self help books omg.

Blue ombre or icy platinum white. Ideally, it would be a boy cut. I got laughed at by the hair dresser so long hair and a pony tail it is D:

Oceans and beaches.

Boy, yeah!
