♥️A LETTER TO A GHOST LOVER♥️

I wrote this poem for the Halloween Lackadaisy Contest back on October 8th when we were brainstorming ideas for the contest.

I was writing this poem from Mitzi’s perspective. I was imagining the grief Mitzi must’ve felt when she lost Atlas, I bet she tried moving on a few times but she couldn’t because the men she dated reminded her of her deceased husband Atlas.

I bet she would’ve tried moving on by writing a poem (with the help of Rocky if she needed some help writing it) I imagine her going in front of everyone on stage to recite her poem while the band played some music to help the moment feel right for her. I imagine after reading that poem in front of everyone, she felt a little bit better.

A little bit of me was in her when I was writing this because I’m doing the same thing when I’m “THE SKIES ARE DIFFERENT WHERE I’M FROM” audiobook album, I’m writing poems to move from stuff that happened in the past and present.

I’m trying to make myself a little bit better from the pain I’ve experienced by sharing it with others.

Lackadaisy Lacrimosa

Inspired by @lackadaisycats beautiful comic extra of the same name! I really wanted to get this done in time for Halloween, and I just barely made it!

Inspo and rambling behind break!

A window would have been an extra struggle to deal with, though it is such a poignant image for Rocky especially! I wanted to at least get the feeling of weightlessness and floating. And spooky, can't forget that!

My brother was a huuuge help in figuring out fog, lighting, and camera stuff! We both definitely want to play around with more of that, but I feel like this was a good first run.

I do still need to find a good editing program, though... this one I ended up editing on my phone again.

Hey Eldritch Friends,

Lackadaisy Community leader Newt is hosting a Fall-oween Event! The challenge: make a multi-media ghost story with friends combining any artforms you like - writing, drawing, sculpture, photography, music, poetry, etc.

The Discord community will vote on the winners!

Entries will be featured in a special Cast + Crew livestream!

Renowned voice actor Jason Marnocha (Viktor Vasko/Asa Sweet) has agreed to read the top placing written entry with all of the Victorian vampire swagger he can muster (which is a lot)

Deadline is October 26th
