Given such harrowing news to being uplifted by an angel only half a day later made Upton's own heart soar. He never expected Rosey to come seek him out, let alone treat him with such kindness, such generosity.
Such kharis as he remembers his brother putting it.
Even if he wasn't a person, even if he wasn't fully separate from Hierei, he could at least... pretend. Pretend he was someone else. Pretend he was meant to be, meant to live, meant to do good and help others and prosper.
With Rosey's eye on some amber, he had an idea. She hadn't wanted to keep any for herself, and Upton wasn't an artist exactly, but he knew what he wanted to do, and Pride back in his wing, he would do it.
Flying around the immense kypari, Upton looked for the most perfect piece of amber. Aged, old, shaped nicely... It was hard, most of the tree picked clean by mantid harvesters trying to find food or materials for weaponry and tools. However, after some time inspecting the layered, mossy patches of bark unmarred by sha... he found what he was looking for.
The smallest glint in his bright silver eyes. Such a small droplet of amber, shaped as a tear, hardened as it seeped from such a small crack in the bark. Upton plucked it, wiggling his ears with delight before swooping down, finding a nice place in a nearby mire.
The bleeding heart plants in the Dread Wastes were known for their beauty by the few authors who got to see them. Huge, bright, and lovely, Upton decided that even if he didn't include the flower, the stems would make for something sentimental to hold the amber piece in place.
Yet as he reached up to cut one of the long stems carrying the blooms, as soon as his hand came to contact with the sap, he blistered. A deep purplish rash immediately came across his fingers, his hand only saved by wearing gloves - however fingerless.
He quickly stopped, dropping his knife to the ground, looking over his fingers and not quite understanding the damage that had been done. Was it an allergic reaction? Could he even be allergic to things? He'd never been allergic to things before, not really, and any damage he took was always quickly mitigated... Why did it hurt so much?
Slowly, he brought sha to his fingertips. So easily, so naturally it came, and with it, soothing cooling. A numbness. The sha didn't hurt him- it never had. And it eased the pain and the swelling and the itching immediately.
As he willed the sha away... the blisters remained. It didn't hurt nearly as bad, and a bit of the itching persisted... but it was better. Much better. He furrowed his brow at the plant, and decided that maybe he wasn't quite cut out for artistry after all, and maybe, just maybe, getting something commissioned by a professional might be just as romantic and sweet as making something yourself.

Dread Wastes
Separated from the rest of Pandaria by the Serpent's Spine constructed during the rule of Lei Shen, the Dread Wastes are the home of the Mantid. The landscape is dotted with massive Kypari trees that produce the amber which the Mantid utilize in many ways.
#world of warcraft#warcraft#wowedit#wowcaps#vgscreenshots#heart of fear twice? i'm sorry it just looks so cool#also love how rampant the sha are in this zone#it makes for some really interesting and unique designs

Finally, she had all the information, and all the gear she needed for her little expedition to Pandaria. Now all she needed was to let the others know and work out a date to go. It would be easier to go on her own, she had the ability to up and leave at the drop of a copper coin. But so many had expressed interest in seeing the world with her, she felt it a crime to not allow them the pleasure of seeing Pandarias beauty. So, she got to writing..
"Miss Saidelia,
I have finally ironed out all the details for that little expedition trip I spoke to you about the other week. I originally wished to show you the Jade Forest, but work is actually taking me further west, so we will likely be visiting the Valley of the Four Winds, the Dread Wastes, and potentially the Townlong Steppes depending on where we can port in at. If you are still interested, a seat is being saved for you. There will potentially be a few others joining us as well. This visit won't be terribly long and will consist mostly of traveling through the wilds of Pandaria with a quick visit to one of the remaining Kypari Trees in hopes I can find a sap collector, a device used by the Klaxxi to collect the amber that flows from the trees. I don't suspect we will run into any trouble along the way but between your shield and my polearm, I think we'll be fine.
Let me know what days work best if you still wish to join me. Travel expenses will be covered.
- Zeehva M. Belrose"
She waited for the first letter to dry, then she folded it up and set it aside so she could begin the next.
"Miss Melorica,
I recall you mentioning wanting to get away from Elwynn. Well, you may be in luck! I am going on a small expedition trip to Pandaria. It will be a short trip, mostly consisting of traveling through the Pandaria wilds with a quick visit to one of the remaining Kypari Trees. I would like to extend an invitation should you have the time to join me and potentially a few others on this trip.
Let me know what days work best for you should you wish to come. Expenses for travel will be covered by the one hiring me for the job.
- Zeehva M. Belrose"
Another one down. Silently she smiled to herself as she folded it up and set it aside.
"Sam,
I know I've teased you about whisking you away to visit lands untold, but I think those teases might become reality. I'm going on a small expedition trip to Pandaria, you and a few others are invited. It would mostly consist of traveling through the wilds. Enjoying the scenery and what not. We'll stop to eat and the like, really take it all in. You'll even get to see a Kypari tree! There will also be tons of wildlife to learn about and see.
Let me know what days work best for you should you wish to go. Travel expenses will be covered.
- Zeehva"
She stretched her fingers out, they were beginning to cramp a bit. But she just had one more to write and she'd be finished!
"Auggie & Max,
I know you both are busy, but I recall Auggie mentioning how thrilled he would be to go on an adventure with me sometime. Well, I've got one lined up, a trip to Pandaria. It'd be a lot of sight seeing with just a little bit of work on my end. I wanted to extend the invitation to you both. It would be myself and potentially a few others should they agree to come as well. There would be plenty of chances to gather herbs along the way as well for your alchemical creations.
Let me know what days work best should you wish to come along. Travel expenses would be covered of course.
- Zeehva Belrose"
And with that she was done! The letters would be sent off that afternoon and hopefully arrive in good time to her friends.
- @saidelia-draconis @melorica @samantha-bradford @theparkhurstalchemists
(OOC INFO: This will be a small event with little to no combat, instead focusing on learning about the environment that surrounds them and just enjoying RP outside of the city. It shouldn't take terribly long either. I suspect a few hours. If you're interested let me know what days work best and I can try to nail down a day and time for us to go!)

With the brusque chill of autumn nipping at her through the cracked window, Saidelia stared down into the streets below with her tea, sipping on the steaming cup every so often. It was the only thing keeping her fingers warm. A knock at the door drew her from her quiet day indoors. Down the stairs, the knocking only grew louder. When she opened it, she was greeted by a fresh-faced young woman waving a paper in her face.
“Howdy Saidelia! Got a letter here.”
The woman sighed, nodding and waving her hand at the letter, urging the woman to hold onto it.
“Thank you, Theresa. What does it say?”
“Fuck should I know? You want it or not?”
“Can you just tell me what it says?”
“Listen, Saidelia. Normally I’d love to indulge in your weird noble bullshit, but--”
Saidelia raised a hand, silencing the woman. She snatched the letter, holding it out to Theresa.
“Not a noble, first off. Second, I will pay you to quit your bitching and read it to me.”
“Do you just not know how to read, or what?”
“Do you want the coin, or what?”
A brief moment of silence. Finally, the girl took the letter, opening it. She quickly studied the contents of the letter, raising a brow at Saidelia. She smirked softly.
“Huh. I’ve heard of this lady. She sells fancy shit.”
“Don’t you have places to be?”
“Right. Ahem
Miss Saidelia,
I have finally ironed out all the details for that little expedition trip I spoke to you about the other week. I originally wished to show you the Jade Forest, but work is actually taking me further west, so we will likely be visiting the Valley of the Four Winds, the Dread Wastes, and potentially the Townlong Steppes depending on where we can port in at. Let me know what days work best if you still wish to join me. Travel expenses will be covered.
- Zeehva M. Belrose”
Saidelia clutched her cup, leaning on the doorframe while she listened to the courier. As the letter wrapped up, she was met with Theresa’s eager stare.
“So, the high and mighty Saidelia going on a grand adventure?”
“I... Sure. Let me fetch your coin. I’ll pay you a little extra to write her back and say I’ll go.”
“For an adventurer, you sure are some lazy, huh.”
As Theresa followed the paladin to her home, she was greeted with a handful of silvers, and a dismissive gaze.
“Just tell her I’ll go.”
Theresa shrugged. She drew a quill from her bag, scratching a hastily-written note down on Saidelia’s dinner table. She paused every so often to stare off into space, collecting her thoughts. When she finally finished, the held the letter up to Saidelia’s eyes, looking fairly conspicuous as the courier attempted to maintain a straight face. Her voice was similarly strained as she spoke.
“Look good?”
“I... Sure, I guess, send it.”
With the letter in-hand, Theresa departed. In the late hours of the evening, the letter nailed to Zeehva’s caravan read
“To the auspicious and renowned Zeehva M. Belrose, first of her name,
I, Saidelia Draconis do indeed deign to venture on your endeavor. I expect we will be met with many winds, and taking many steppes, and wasting a good deal. Though my shield is big, my sword is long and hard. I’ve finished many a foe hand to hand in my day and am ready for any that might cross me. In addition to our prearranged agreement, I have but one request. I am nary as cold nor as heartless as though I may seem. I would like to request a bedtime story should we be away for multiple nights.
From the desk of Lady Saidelia O. Draconis XIII, Heir to...”
The rest of the letter was smudged beyond recognition, leaving it open to interpretation.
(Thank you/I am sorry @zeehva.)

Expedition Response
Juggling two bags of groceries in either hand, Sam shuffled the mail in front of her as she climbed the stairs to her apartment. Mostly advertisements, a few bills, and another letter from her mother. The final envelope made her eyes widen upon noticing Zeehva had sent it. She fumbled with her key in the lock. Eventually, convincing the small metal piece to fit into the receiver and allow her entry into the apartment. The cat yowled and stretched as it appeared from under the table, getting underfoot and nearly tripping Sam as she hastily set the groceries on the small kitchen counter.
Discarding the rest of the mail, she cut Zeehva's letter open, contemplating what could be within, her thoughts wandering into the dark and devious corners for only a second. Finding no photograph within, she spun around to lean her rear on the counter and read over the letter.
Sam, I know I've teased you about whisking you away to visit lands untold, but I think those teases might become reality. I'm going on a small expedition trip to Pandaria, you and a few others are invited. It would mostly consist of traveling through the wilds. Enjoying the scenery and whatnot. We'll stop to eat and the like, really take it all in. You'll even get to see a Kypari tree! There will also be tons of wildlife to learn about and see. Let me know what days work best for you should you wish to go. Travel expenses will be covered. - Zeehva
Sam's lips pursed at the mention of other people also being invited, and her thoughts deflated a little as the letter was bounced off her hand. At first, she conjured a few excuses to dodge the trip, mainly concerning her cat and snake. But then she considered the fact the trip wasn't going to cost her anything.
Peaches rubbed up against Sam's shin with another yowl, expecting some sort of handout from the groceries, no doubt.
"Yeah," Sam knit her brows as she looked down at the feline companion. "You're right. I should go. Besides, I might be able to sneak her away from whoever else is going for a little bit. Maybe."
She set the letter aside with a nod of affirmation and moved across the apartment to write her reply. She could leave at any time, and surely Quinn would feed the pets.

A Treatise on Transmutation V: Stones of Peace
In pale contrast to this madness is the singular stone used in Pandaria for transmutation. The Pandaren, in all their wisdom, use an object pre-ordained for transmutation to transmute beautiful gems and rare, complex metals such as ghost iron and trillium. Their stones, known as Zen Alchemist’s Stones, are the literal eyes of non-living Mogu statues, wrapped in three petals of golden lotus - one each day for three days. The Pandaren believe the golden lotus, a symbol of heroic sacrifice, to remove all foul intention from these stones of transmutation. Each stone is registered to a tribal leader for two reasons. The first is a simple matter of responsibility, the second, a far more interesting reason. Mantid are known to steal and hoard these stones from Mogu and Pandaren alike, for the singular purpose of transmuting Kypari. Using a cleansed stone forged by will and petal for such a purpose renders the stone powerless after a few uses - yet the Mantid have blessedly either not the magic, knowledge, or willpower to make more of these stones.
This stone is a true masterwork of transmutation, and to make one successfully is quite a feat. If you are able to make one, you can make some truly beautiful creations with its magic. Pandaren attach complex, necessary hand motions to their transmutations, called Mudras. Each mudra signals an intention for a certain type of change. For example, the thumb and forefinger clasped in a circle with the rest of the digits in a loose line, known as the “Gyan” Mudra, signals the intention to transmute the stone’s Serpent’s Eye. Watching a pandaren transmute is much like a dance, an art form of itself. Learning this practice requires time and discipline, but it is one of the kinder fields of advanced transmutation.
An odd resource found only in Pandaria is a spirit of harmony, an elemental mote used to transmute ghost iron to living steel. These motes are powerful conduits of calm, ordered energy used to beckon one substance from another. They are used across Pandaria as a trade currency, as transmutation is a rather common - albeit regulated - practice of the isle people.

Playable Race concept: Mantid
commissioned by @prototype-heart
*disclaimer: This is a post for fun, it is in no way meant to be taken seriously. I have thoroughly combed the lore before making this post and is just a “what if” scenario just for shits and giggles and is meant to be taken with a grain of salt.*
Race: Mantid
Faction: Nuetral
Languages: Mantid, Common/Orcish
Summary: Long ago the Old Gods spawned an insect-like race called the Aqir. The Aqir spread all over the world to serve their masters and evolved into many sub-species to suit their newly-found habitats. Those that settled in what would become Pandaria became the Mantid and they served the multi-headed god Y’shaarj. Known for their voracious appetites they devoured everything in their path to build their empire and the empire persisted even after the death of Y’shaarj at the hands of the Titans. Every hundred years the Mantid would swarm and this forced the Pandarian races to build the Serpent's Spine, a great wall that repels all but the greatest of swarms.
After the Sha were freed by the faction war between the Horde and Alliance, the Sha of Fear infected many Mantid including the Mantid Empress, corrupting her and leading to her downfall by the hands of adventurers. However the Mantid survived thanks to the Klaxxi, a group of Mantid elders that remained uncorrupted. Though they have a new emperess, most of the Mantid perished, which along with the destruction of their precious kypari trees their future remains in doubt. So the Emperess decides the Mantid way of life needs to change and evolve to ensure their race’s future, sending soldiers to the Alliance and Horde to ensure that whichever wins, the Mantid will survive. This new caste, called “Adventurer” is more humanoid than their original sub-races.
Classes:
Warrior
Priest
Rogue
Mage
Hunter, starting pet is an Amber Scorpion (Scorpid)
Shaman, totems are amber spires
Monk
Mount: Kunchong
Racials:
Kypari Cocoon: Active. The user vomits a gob of Kypari sap at the target, trapping them in a chunk of amber dealing X nature damage and preventing them from performing any action or moving. 4 second duration, 30 yard range, 3 minute cooldown.
Live Feeding: Passive. Increases leech by 1%
Predatory Instinct: Passive. Increases damage on targets below 35% health by 2%.
Redemption: Passive. Reputation gains increased by 10%.
Arborist: Passive. Herbalism skill increased by 15 and nodes are gathered faster.
Dances: Thriller (Male), The Time Warp (Female)
Customization: Exoskeleton colors, antenna type, antenna colors, head features. Unlike most WoW races the female is larger than the male.
Male Flirts:
“Want to see my butt glow?”
“I’m hoping to find a nice mate to settle down with...and eat my head”
“Are you a bright light because I am attracted to you”
“I got you some jewelry, I hope you like amber”
“I have good taste, want to have a little nibble and find out?”
“Give me a buzz and I’ll be yours”
Female Flirts:
“You look delectable” *makes disgusting slurping and clicking noises*
“You make this lowly drone feel like an empress”
“I’m getting hungry, wanna find somewhere a little more private?”
“What is the difference between me and a mosquito? A mosquito stops sucking when you slap it, I’m only encouraged”
“You’re sweeter than kypari sap”
“I’m glad I got compound eyes because you are looking fly”
Male Jokes:
“Fear the bug!”
“Man, I'm so lucky. I don't have any problems with my dad! Maybe it's 'cause Mom ate his head before I was born. I don't know!...”
“I work with kypari trees so I know sap when I see it, and boy are you one”
“I don’t know what we are praying for what have the Old Gods done for us?”
“With freedom comes nudity”
“Insect jokes bug me”
Female Jokes:
“I love that take out can mean food, dating or murder. In my case its all the above. At the same time.”
“I love tree jokes, you could say I’m a sap for them”
“You gotta be careful around kypari sap, one wrong move and you’ll find yourself in a sticky situation”
“I may be a bug but at least I am not a pest!”
“Amber is a female’s best friend”
“Ow my claw thingy!”

I've looked for and read all I could on mantid so now it's time for some HEADCANNONS.
Mantid are born a dull greenish brown shade. After their first swarm and they begin to become sentient individuals, they will change colors. Their color determines which caste they belong to.
Mantid who become part of the Klaxxi change color again, to golden brown.
Genemancers are in charge of deciding who breeds and who doesn't. If you have unfavorable genes or have disgraced the swarm in some way, you aren't allowed a mate. Romance isnt typically a part of the process. Survival of the swarm is more important.
Mantid are completely capable of having feelings for each other.
Female mantid do not usually kill their mates. They only kill or eat them if they are undesirable or wrong them.
Female mantid have longer antennae. It's not the most obvious to the other races, but to mantid, it is.
Genemancers always ask for consent before doing their experiments.
Mantid don't usually know their parents. Their eggs are laid by the kypari trees, and warmed by the sun. Then they hatch, and off to the wall they go.
Swarmlings are cared for by the community. They may have survived their first swarm, but they still have a lot to learn.
Mantid go into hiding to molt. It's less stressful that way.
Mantid regrow lost limbs. This is an exhausting process and the limb isnt ready until their next molt.
Mantid do not discriminate against those who may hatch disabled. They accommodate them accordingly if they survive their first swarm.
Mantid who don't blindly follow the empress and question her motives tend to be ridiculed or executed.
Mantid live a very long time, and can grow quite big.
Mantid adore sugar and sweet flavors because kypari sap is sweet.
Touching their antennae is seen often as flirtatious and sexual. Pulling them is the equivalent of kicking someone in the dick. Their antennae are the most sensitive part of their body, used to sense vibrations, heat, and pheromones.
Mantid often rest under kypari trees together.
Mantid can and will take hostages to use as spies.
Warcallers are an important part of an attack force. The sounds they sing inspire courage and ferocity in their troops.
Genemancers experiment on adult mantid and eggs alike.
Mantid who stray out of range of the Empress' song often find the quietness unnerving. Swarmlings are almost mindless without her, so if one strays too far, it is possible to replace her voice with yours. They are young and need guidance.
The Empress chooses only the strongest mates.
Have trouble communicating with the other races. The way they express themselves is much different than theirs.

Lei sat on the boughs of one of the massive kypari trees in the Dread Wastes. She looked ragged, tired, and angry. No matter how much she puffed on her pipe, it just wouldn't go away. She was absolutely seething.
On her birthday, too. She bore her teeth and let out a low growl. She was so full of anger and hatred, she couldn’t feel anything else. Not that she felt much on her birthday anymore.
She didn’t embrace the sha’s power to become a monster. She didn’t do it to become a threat to the pandaren. She did it because she saw an opportunity. Her anger and hatred manifested into a power that her people feared, but she sought to use it against their enemies. Put her newfound temper to use.
And they cast her out.
She would never let it go.
Why should she serve the people who cast her out to die out here at the hands of the mantid?
The more she thought about it, the more she sank into her emotions. Tomoka had offered her a chance at redemption, once. What was she redeeming? She hadn’t done anything wrong. She was glad that Tomoka had redeemed herself, but she wouldn’t follow.
She couldn’t let it go.
She slammed her fists into the wooden bough, cracking it significantly. She roared so forcefully and loudly that she could feel herself vibrate. She felt something cold and oozy envelope her arms, and she looked down to see herself becoming engulfed in it, but she didn’t quite care.
Her anger and hatred was justifiable. Why should she reject it?
An arrow flew by her head, and she looked in the direction it came.
A Shado-pan stood at a distance from her. She looked at Lei with distaste and uncaring. Lei recognized the scar over her left eye, and snarled.
“You missed.” She snipped.
“On purpose. Next time, I wont, and you’ll be out of your misery.” The other pandaren retorted.
Lei stood up and began walking towards her. The Shado-pan drew her bow again, and fired. Lei caught the arrow, snapping it in half and throwing it aside. She said nothing as she broke into a sprint and threw her fist at the pandaren.
The Shado-pan caught her fist and clenched it with ungodly strength, digging her claws into Lei’s skin. “I came to talk to you.”
“You fired an ARROW at my head.” Lei said, not showing her any sign that her fist was indeed in plenty of pain.
“Because you aren’t safe to approach, just as any monster.”
Lei swiped her claws across the other womans face, knocking her hat off and ripping the red scarf around her neck. “I am not a monster. YOU WANTED TO SEE ME AS ONE, RINZAO.” She roared.
Rinzao glared and tightened her grip even more, grabbing Lei’s arm and pulling her forward. She then proceeded to lift her off her feet, and slam her to the ground. “ You’re not a monster, and yet you look and act like one that’s drunk off hatred and anger. Would someone who’s in control look like you do right now?” she growled.
“I am in complete control.” Lei hissed, getting up. She was slowly being covered in that black ooze that took over her arms.
“Are you? Are you really? Because the entire time I’ve known you, you’ve fallen farther and farther down a hole you wont climb back out of. Your hatred and anger is consuming you. And soon, there wont be any part of you left.” Rinzao said.
Lei opened her mouth to speak, but was silenced by a fist to the face.
“You were exiled for this exact reason. Letting those emotions fester in your heart only leads to disaster and pain. You think you’re in control, but you are not. You were a danger to our people the moment you slaughtered those yaungol, all those years ago.”
Lei rubbed her face. “I slaughtered them because-”
“I know why you killed them. You fought with vengeance in your heart. Now tell me. After you brutalized that camp, how did you feel? Did you feel better, standing in a sea of blood and torn limbs?”
Lei continued to bare her teeth, but said nothing. After that massacre, she had only felt anguish and despair. Sick, even, as she looked at what she had done.
“We saw a monster. And we took care of it.” Rinzao said flatly. “End of discussion.” She added, observing the wrathful look in Lei’s eyes with a distasteful frown.
“Is there even any part of you left? Your parents....Always talked about how kind and sweet you were. But I don’t see that at all.” Rinzao spoke again.
“Who cares about what they have to say? They disowned me.” Lei hissed.
“Rightfully so. I came to you on your birthday to see if you had changed at all to offer you a second chance, but I see that I was too late. You really are nothing but a husk full of anger and hatred.”
Lei stepped forward to strike Rinzao again, but Rinzao caught her fist again. “This is the last time I’m letting you go. If I see you again after this meeting....” Rinzao said, leaning into Lei’s face.
“I will kill you.”
She let go of Lei’s fist and stepped back, disappearing in a puff of smoke. Lei was left to seethe alone again in the dark of early morning, with nothing but conflicting thoughts to keep her company.

Something was horribly wrong.
Jia choked back a cry as she slammed her side into the edge of the doorway. She needed to slow down, she really did, but at this point? The concept was near alien to her. Her whole body ached... her wounds from her spar with Duroxas were far from perfect, but they should have a least felt somewhat better by now, right?
Venom dripped on her chest as she moved, wings rattling at her back in unease. The tunnel she was in wasn’t helping - it was cold, damp, and almost claustrophobic. She figured the last time she was here that the only thing holding it up was the roots of the kypari above, securing the already packed soil in place, but just seeing the bare dirt around her made her want to bolt out and take to the sky.
It’s just because you’re a flyer, they said. You’ll never be comfortable down here.
Thankfully, she didn’t have to keep walking for long. The door she was looking for stuck out from the tunnel like a sore thumb, red paint somewhat reminiscent of what ended up going on in there. She didn’t even knock before she slammed into it, bursting into the genemancer’s lab.
The dull, almost denim-colored mantid took a moment to look up. He eyed her with a calm and steady gaze despite her entrance, her breathing ragged and mandibles leaking a steady but uncontrollable stream of venom. “Jik’xil.”
“Everything’s wrong!” Jia burst out, eyes wide with panic, “t-there’s way too much venom, I can’t stop it and it doesn’t feel-”
“Have you taken care of your target?”
That shocked her into pausing, almost physically jerking back as she was interrupted. “S-sorry, what?”
The genemancer’s voice remained calm, perhaps even bored. “The pandaren you were supposed to take care of for me, poisoner.”
“I... I-I-” there was a pressure in her cheeks, and she could feel a stream of venom run down her neck. There was so much... “I’ve been healing, and-”
“If you haven’t-” He started, only to be cut off.
“My job doesn’t let m-”
The genemancer rasped through his mandibles, holding up a hand to silence her. “Poisoner Jik’xil. If you have not carried through with your part of our agreement, I am afraid I can’t do anything for you right now.”
Jia’s antennae were plastered back against her head, and even her wings pressed themselves behind her frame. She watched as the genemancer slowly lifted a mug to his mandibles, taking a sip. “But I still have a week- I still-” She took a ragged breath, air hissing through her system, “how am I supposed to do anything like this?”
His gaze never faltered, even as he took his time setting his cup back down. “Don’t worry, I’m sure you’ll figure something out. You’re quite the smart girl, after all.”
Jia could really only stare. No words were coming in response, though her mouth hung open at the ready.
The genemancer watched her for a moment before speaking again. “Now... if you’ll be so kind as to excuse me, I do have work to get back to.”
She gave a mute nod, feet carrying her a step back.
“Good luck, Poisoner Jik’xil.”

Can we learn more about Lunvai?
Lunvai is one of my beforus trolls. He’s Runska’s dancestor and like all of my dancestors he is basically the opposite of Runska. They do have some things in common tho, like how they both do magic.
Lunvai is a nihilist and a bit pessimistic at times. He also has like no chill and impulsive as fuck. He’s also a murderer, like he gets into fights all the time and has no qualms with killing his opponent if it comes to that. But that’s all his bad qualities.
On the flip side, he is extremely attentive to his quads and their needs. He’s a bit dumb when it comes to realizing he has positive feelings for others, but once he does he will now die for you. He’s quick to recognize pitch feelings tho.
Lunvai helps take care of his moirail,Eosfor, by learning to make the medicine he uses. It was the first healing magic he learned how to do. Most of the magic before this were usually curses and battle magic. I would explain in detail how they got together but this post is gonna be long enough.
Before he got with his moirail he got with his matesprite, Kypari, and his kismesiss, Soreli. He takes Kypari out on “danger dates” things like cliff diving, bungee jumping and skydiving cause Kypari is an adrenaline junkie and he is too kinda. While he takes Soreli out to like nice restaurants and the like.
Soreli gets nice proper dates cause part of their relationship is based on her not wanting to admit he can be nice and her getting frustrated when he shows that he can be nice if he wants to be. Lunvai loves to push this button and also admires that she doesn’t take his shit and never has. But he does get annoyed at her for being a bit stuck up and not letting him just be morally grey.
