the new season of party down hasn't even started to air yet and i admittedly have no idea what to expect, but i'm already in a (pansexual) frenzy thinking about failed writer roman and successful hollywood actor kyle connecting again years later... with a surprising, romantic twist 🥴 shhh no one perceive me pls i'll die 😭

I loved the original series. Passionately. And I’ve thought of it often over the years. Some moments/gags really stayed with me.

I was overjoyed that it was coming back, but nervous also. Partly because Casey wouldn’t be part of it. Which is disappointing. Mostly because I didn’t want to see Henry still stuck in that terrible job thirteen years later. And the others, to some extent.

I need not have worried. The script dealt with all that. Brilliantly. Casey not being there is put to great use for storytelling. And almost everyone’s lives have moved on. Now, I have a new worry. How will episode 2 keep all these characters together?

Ron’s hand was the comedy highlight. But it was a funny episode from start to finish. And Jennifer Garner is every bit as adorable as you’d expect her to be. What if Casey is back for season 4?
