Songs and Ships
thank you @athenswrites for the tag! i shall add @imslowlydisintegrating and @taeonysus8 (i really need more writer moots sob sob)
the rules of this tag game: write 2-5 songs that represent a ship between your characters (can be romantic or platonic or a secret third thing). then add a quote from your WIP beneath each song (if possible!).
i've decided that i'm gonna focus on Jae and Jun from TGCT for this since i'm currently working on that fic and this might help me get the vibes right for once (literally on my third rewrite already, someone send help ;^;)
HER - Chase Atlantic
"ꜱʜᴇ ꜱᴀʏꜱ 'ᴏᴏʜ, ᴡᴇ ᴄᴏᴜʟᴅ ᴅᴏ ᴡʜᴀᴛᴇᴠᴇʀ ʏᴏᴜ ᴡᴀɴᴛ, ʙᴜᴛ ʙᴏʏ ᴅᴏɴ'ᴛ ɢᴏ ꜰᴀʟʟɪɴɢ ɪɴ ʟᴏᴠᴇ…ʏᴏᴜ ᴄᴀɴ'ᴛ ꜱᴛᴀʏ ᴡɪᴛʜ ᴍᴇ, ᴀʟʟ ʏᴏᴜ'ʟʟ ᴇᴠᴇʀ ʜᴀᴠᴇ ɪꜱ ᴏɴᴇ ᴅᴀʏ ᴡɪᴛʜ ᴍᴇ'."
this song reminds me of them because, in a moment of vulnerability, Jae makes Jun promise that he will keep hating her until the end of time. her greatest secret is that she is terminally ill (suffering from a heart illness) and that's why she lives every day like it's her last - considering how she refuses bad medication most days, she could drop dead at any moment. anyway, she has no problem hanging out with Jun and getting into messy situations with him because she believes that he will keep hating her indefinitely. unlike her friends, he won't mourn her when she dies - or at least that's what she believes. even when things get a little heated and feelings start brewing, Jae pushes the longing aside and intends to cut him off when the time comes. having a relationship with him would only subject Jun to a great deal of heartache and Jae would much rather he stay as her enemy than have him become something more only to end up wasting his life on mourning her once she passes away.
"Please hate me," Jae whispered, pulling him out of his thoughts.  When he turned to look at her, he was caught off by the silent plea shining in her eyes. "Why?" Jun frowned, confused by her request. "Why do you want me to hate you?" "Because you hated me before," Jae responded quietly. "It should be easy for you to keep hating me even if we start hanging out and acting civil with one another like this." A sad smile tugged at the corners of her lips as she added, "Besides, you never liked me in the first place, did you? So don't change that now. Don't stop hating me."
"ɪꜰ ɪ'ᴍ ꜱᴜᴄʜ ᴀ ɴɪᴄᴇ ɢᴜʏ ᴀɴᴅ ʏᴏᴜ ʜᴀᴅ ᴀ ɢʀᴇᴀᴛ ᴛɪᴍᴇ, ᴡʜʏ ᴅᴏɴ'ᴛ ᴡᴇ ᴋɪᴄᴋ ɪᴛ ᴜᴘ ᴀ ɴᴏᴛᴄʜ? ʜᴏᴡ ᴀʙᴏᴜᴛ ʏᴏᴜ ᴄᴏᴍᴇ ᴏᴠᴇʀ, ᴍᴏᴠᴇ ɪɴ ᴛᴏ ᴍᴇ ᴄʟᴏꜱᴇʀ ᴀɴᴅ ʟᴇᴛ ᴍʏ ʜᴀɴᴅꜱ ɢɪᴠᴇ ɪᴛ ᴀ ꜱʜᴏᴛ"
Just Friends - JORDY
Jun is the first to breach the thin line between love and hate. being reluctant acquaintances with Jae seems impossible until he finds himself thinking constantly about her, wondering if she got home safely from school, becoming irritated when she's too close to other guys, and so on. he denies it time and time again, half because he cannot imagine that he could've caught feelings for his enemy and half because he subconsciously knows that nothing good will come out of him developing feelings for her. still, a part of him can't help but yearn to cross over that line. unfortunately, Jae is intent on staying enemies. no one said anything about that coming with a few benefits though...
Uh oh, he thought, his Adam's apple bobbing as he swallowed. This won't end well. "Hey," he uttered quietly, knowing that he should probably step away from her but not being able to move from the spot. Jae quirked her eyebrow at him. Equally quietly, she replied, "Hi...?" "About my wish..." "What about it?" Jun's eyes flickered down to her lips briefly. Influenced by a sudden burst of bravery, he blurted out, "I know what I want." "Oh yeah?" Jae tilted her head to the side curiously, a small smile playing on her lips. She found his awkwardness adorable, but she wasn't about to tell him that. Instead, voice quiet, she prompted, "What is it?" "...Kiss me."
"ᴛʀᴀᴘᴘᴇᴅ ɪɴ ᴀ ᴅʀᴇᴀᴍ, ᴄᴀɴ'ᴛ ʙʀᴇᴀᴋ ꜰʀᴇᴇ, ɪᴛ'ꜱ ʟɪᴋᴇ ʀᴇᴀʟɪᴛʏ ɪꜱ ᴍᴏᴄᴋɪɴɢ ᴍᴇ. ɪ'ᴍ ꜱᴄʀᴇᴀᴍɪɴɢ ᴀɴᴅ ꜱʜᴏᴜᴛɪɴɢ ʙᴜᴛ ᴛʜᴇʀᴇ'ꜱ ɴᴏ ꜱᴏᴜɴᴅ. ɪ'ᴍ ʟᴏꜱᴛ, ɪ'ᴍ ꜱᴛᴜᴄᴋ, ɪ ᴄᴀɴ'ᴛ ʙᴇ ꜰᴏᴜɴᴅ"
Trapped In A Dream - RudyWade
when they figure out that they are living in the world of a manhwa and that all that they have been through was scripted by The Writer for the plot, Jae and Jun begin to question everything - their past, their hardships, their relationship, and where The Writer intends to take the story next. amidst the chaos, they start to remember bits and pieces of their previous lives and both start wondering whether their feelings for one another are real or if, perhaps, they are nothing more than a set-up forced upon them by their god.
(i have yet to write this section so no WIP writing for this i'm afraid)

You walked around the training rooms with Sam, talking about the teams you would face later in the tournament. Sam put her hand in front of you, making you abruptly stop. You furrowed your brows in confusion. Noticing your muddled expression, Sam gestured toward the open door. Inside stood a tall student with his sensei.
You had seen him before and if you recalled correctly his name was Axel and he was the male captain of the Iron Dragons. You widen your eyes as Sensei wolf started beating at Axel for messing up his karate move. You couldn't help but watch in shock. Sam grabbed your hand and started walking away fast. As you turned to look back at Axel, your eyes met.
They were filled with pain and weakness. You looked back at him with an empathetic look before getting dragged away by Sam.
.・。.・゜✭・.・。.・゜✭・.・゜゜・
Karate wasn't on his mind. Axel didn't have anything on his mind, except you. Who were you? His heart couldn't help but flutter at the thought of you. Your eyes, hair, the way you looked in your Gi.
You were so beautiful... He was going crazy. Catching himself daydream, he sighed and frowned. This feeling was love... And he wasn't complaining. He snapped out of his delusions, going back to practice his Karate on the beach.
That's when it happened...
You ran out on the sand, breathing heavily and putting your hands on your knees. He stopped what he was doing and turned to look at you. His face filled with worry, rushing to your side.
"Are.. Are you okay?" He kneeled down. "There was a crab in the sand and it started walking towards me like this!-" you replied, doing a crab walk.
"And I ran away!! It was scary! That motherfucker was going to kill me!!" You frowned. He laughed and flashed a smile. "Love, I don't think crabs can kill people like that."
You looked up and pointed a finger at him. ''Crabs can do a lot of things." You squinted your eyes. "Nice karate by the way... I'm Y/n." You smiled and put out your hand. He widened his eyes and looked down at your hand.
"I uhm- not supposed to talk to enemies." He quickly muttered. You tilted your head. "But you were talking to me just now?" You frowned. His eyes softened at your frown. He cleared his throat. "Axel..." You smiled and nodded.
"Nice to meet you, Axel." His face flustered up. "Can... Can I walk you back to your room?" He said nervously. You chuckled and nodded. "I would like that very much..." You smiled and took your hand into his.
It was a small start to a living relationship and it was all because you glanced at him during his most vulnerable point.

queen cobra
pairing: axel kovaćevic x reader
summary: the captain of cobra kai catches the eye of the captain of the iron dragons and manages to deal with her teammates and her crush on axel!
warnings: mentions of abuse, some swearing, kissing, fluff, little bit of angst and a little implication of smut at the end, kwon is alive, axel is a sweetheart, kreese is rotting in jail !
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
cobra kai was never your preferred environment, but you fought to survive there, even when the others tried to influence you. you were a good person and you stood by that. you just had to mask it when in the dojo. it’s not like you would be there long, the dojo was just a way to the sekai takai for you.
and you fought like fucking hell for your spot as captain.
you even dealt with the endless bullshit literally everyone except kwon and tory threw your way. before karate, you had trained boxing and taekwondo, mastering both of them. so, it was easy to say you had the highest kick of everyone your team.
which really did come in handy in moments like this! like when kwon started a stupid bet with miyagi-do over whose kicks were highest. the highest anyone had gone was some kid from the russian team named vlad.
169cm.
kwon hid you for the time being, as the miyagi-do male captain and him faced off in front of the crowd of sekai takai contestants. when they shook hands, you watched as he put chalk to his shoe and swung his leg as high as he could.
175cm.
the crowd cheered, surprised by the height he had managed. you and kwon only laughed. he stepped to the side to let you foward. “show them, captain.”
you grabbed the chalk from the ground and locked eyes with robby as you rubbed it on your shoe. you kicked as high as you could, marking an almost inhumanely high point on the wooden whale statue.
you had to admit you couldn’t eyeball the measurements on that one, but you had won by far.
there was a mixture of gasps and applause as your cobras immediately crowded around you, celebrating your easy victory. you stepped foward to the miyagi-do’s, and stuck out your hand to accept your prize.
a whole room to yourself!
Tumblr media
you and the cobras were walking back to the hotel. you all had met up with sensei kim at a karate gym on the other side of the city, and were only now getting back. you walked ahead of the others, not really wanting to speak to them right now.
as you entered the hotel reception, you noticed a few familiar people your age, they were most likely from the same dojo. you were walking quite slow so you had time to observe.
on the couches were, a dark skinned girl, who was chewing loudly and texting on her phone and an asian boy, who seemed to be staring into nothing at all.
as you turned your attention back straight, you saw an incredibly cute boy, he looked european to you in some way, maybe scandinavian.. or slavic? you didn’t care! he towered over you, and you took a second to appreciate his features, his messy brown hair and dark green eyes, his sculpted face and built arms.
you shot him a flirty smile as you kept walking, which almost made him drop the plates he was carrying.
“axel! what the fuck? can’t you hold a plate?” the girl from the couch called out. ‘oh so she was a bitch!’ you thought, but dismissed it as you continued walking, the cobras following closely behind, chuckling at the scene.
Tumblr media
how could he! he was such a fucking prick. yoon was already getting on your nerves but you lost your shit when he was bitching at you just because you were chosen captain over him.
you unknowingly stomped past your locker room, and accidentally pushed into the wrong one. but you heard something and quieted down. you heard loud, echoing grunts, hits and yells of “ais!”
you snuck to the doorframe, sneakily peering inside and seeing the cute boy from the lobby the day before. he was training with his sensei, delivering strike after strike to the punching mitts ahead of him.
he was insanely focused, and incredibly strong. even through the gi, you could tell he was built. the force behind his punches were insane, but his sensei withdrew from him immediately.
“what are you doing wrong?” his sensei yelled firmly and all of a sudden the incredibly powerful demeanour axel had just flaked away. he flinched as the older man threw the mitts to the floor.
you watched as his sensei struck the poor boy, you had almost grown attached to. not once, not twice. you could tell he had to hold himself back after the third time. he picked up the mitts and commanded axel to continue.
but before he even landed a second punch, the mitts were on the floor again and axel was being hit. you heart hurt to watch it. you let out a soft gasp.
axel turned his head at the sound and saw you, you shot him a sad smile and walked through the hallway, hearing his sensei yell at him as you kept walking forward.
Tumblr media
the cobras wanted to go somewhere and get drunk, and as their captain, you had to go. plus you had secretly hoped you might bump into the guy you had been crushing on for the last two days.
kwon was slumped against the counter, trying to maintain a conversation with you, but miserably failing. yoon and the others were standing around tory, trying to make their lazy advances that seemed to go completely unnoticed.
“씨발, 나 산책하러 가야 돼.. 안전하게 지내라, 얘들아 (fuck this, i’m going on a walk, get home safe boys.)” tory practically growled at you, still insulted by the fact she couldn’t speak your language but the remainder of the team telling you goodnight or to stay safe.
you left your half empty bottle of beer on the counter as you walked out, heading straight for the beach. it was calm, and quiet, and for a second you thought you heard the same sounds as earlier.
“ais! ais!” you heard and you recognised the voice, turning to watch as axel stood a couple metres away from you, shirtless, practising his kata. you watched for a couple moments before you spoke up.
“that’s a really cool kata, what’s it called?” he immediately turned around. he smiled at the sight of you and answered softly, “it’s called enpi.”
you nodded and were about to answer before he spoke again, “i don’t mean to be rude, but it’s a pretty common kata, and you’re an incredible fighter, i’m shocked you don’t know it.”
you looked at the floor for a second, before meeting his eyes, as they watched you. “it’s okay! i’m originally a kick-boxer and i studied taekwondo, so that’s my more proficient area.. i can apply a lot of it to karate though so it’s perfect!”
he nodded and gave you a small smile as he continued the conversation with you. “you’re incredibly strong in karate, i wouldn’t have noticed!” he spoke to you.
you stepped closer to him and brushed his arm. “thank you, you’re very strong, i mean clearly.” you said, trying to make it clear you were flirting with him. “i-thank you.” his smile turned bashful and he felt his cheeks heat up.
“you’re amazing.” he said, and immediately paused to reformulate his statement. “i-mean your dojo’s amazing!” you beamed at him. he was honestly so cute you wanted to squeal sometimes.
you smiled, about to speak but he beat you to it once more. “can i join?” he asked you, and you immediately felt yourself get kind of excited at the idea.
“the cobras? i mean, the boys are stupid but kwon’s okay, he just tries to overcompensate when he’s around others but he’s such a sweetheart i promise-“ you began to ramble.
“i meant your walk..” he replied, almost annoyed with himself that he interrupted you once more. you smiled at him once more and accepted. “of course!” you watched as he turned around to grab his jacket.
your eyes fixed on his back, and the scars covering it. you touched them experimentally and felt his body tense under your hand. “i-i’m sorry.. are you okay?” you asked him, empathy laced in your voice.
he quickly grabbed his jacket and put it on, hiding his back from you. “i’m okay.” he quickly dismissed you. you slid your hand into his and nodded somberly. the pair of you started to walk towards the footpath.
you responded to him. “you don’t have to talk to me about it, but i know what it’s like to have an abusive sensei and it’s always okay to not be okay.” you turned your head to face him as he did the same for you.
“thank you. it means a lot.” he smiled softly as you both stood still and he stared at your face. you asked him to lean down a little bit, claiming you had a “secret” to whisper to him.
once he was close enough to your height, you reached onto your tippy toes and gave him a soft peck on the cheek. you let out a soft giggle as you did and he could’ve sworn he felt his heart beat out of his chest.
Tumblr media
you had stumbled upon the cobras, well not all of them, but yoon and a few others. they were clearly drunk and yoon smirked as he saw you. “y/nnn, who’s the guy?” yoon asked, cockily as he dragged out the last letter.
axel’s hand tightened protectively against yours.
“who would’ve thought our captain’s with the enemy..” another boy pressed behind him, and you couldn’t quite make out who it was but it enraged you. you replied to them sharply, with authority.
“you know, i’m sure sensei kim would love to hear that her star fighter was being preyed on by a bunch of drunk losers on her team.” that’s when the remainder of the cobras scattered, but yoon stood in place. you were loosing your patience, and so was axel.
“and i’m sure sensei kim would love to hear that her star fighter is fucking around with some pussy off the hong kong team.” yoon cockily challenged you, but axel stepped forward instantly.
you put a hand on his chest and pushed him back, reassuring him you’d handle it but he kept his fists clenched in preparation.
you stepped towards yoon and spoke to him loudly. “지난번에 팀원 중에 나한테 엉뚱한 짓을 한 사람이 있었던 걸 기억나? (remember what happened the last time someone on the team fucked with me?)” he swallowed and waited for you to continue.
“그러니 그런 일이 일어나기 전에 빨리 호텔로 돌아가세요. (so get your pussy ass back to the hotel before it happens to you).” and with that, he sprinted in the opposite direction, following after his teammates.
you turned back to axel and smiled, “i’m so sorry, you had to be there for that.” you spoke softly to axel and you felt his rough hands envelope yours. “it’s okay, i’m sorry you have to put up with that.” he answered. gazing into your eyes.
“it’s okay, it’s not your fault. it’s all you expect from egotistical teenage boys.” you smiled a little, trying to lighten the mood a little bit.
“i’m not like that, am i?” he asked you, worried that he was like them. you instantly shook your head. “nonono, axel, not at all.” your gaze flicked between his lips and his eyes and he noticed it.
he held himself back, with the worry that you may have only done it as a mistake, or a way to make sure he was comfortable. he released one of your hands and the pair of you kept light conversation as you walked.
Tumblr media
outside your hotel, he stopped. “we’re in the same hotel, axel, we don’t need to split up.” you turned to face him and watched as his brow furrowed slightly, in thought. he brushed a strand of hair away from your face.
you leant into his touch and looked up at him, knowing it was his way of making a move. you reached as high as you could to put a hand on the back of his neck, and the other rested on his chest as you pulled him into you.
his lips met yours. they were soft and you couldn’t help yourself. his hands reached down to your waist before he pulled away.
“we should probably go to our rooms now.” he said, and you giggled softly, once again, still excited from your kiss. you nodded in agreement, as you held hands again and walked to the elevator.
as soon as the doors shut, he couldn’t help himself any more and pressed you softly against the wall as you continued what you had done just a few minute prior, outside the hotel.
except this time, it was deeper, and it was hungry. his hands wandered over your body, tapping under your thighs, telling you to jump, and as you did, his strong arms held you, kneading at the flesh there as he continued to attack your lips.
at some point, when the pair of you were so wrapped up in eachother, the elevator doors opened. he frowned as you pulled away from him and commanded him jokingly to “put you down!”
he did, and just as you were about to leave, he spoke up once more. “let me walk you back.” and you accepted, still giddy from your stolen kisses.
once you reached your door you smiled and leant up to peck him on the cheek. “goodnight, axel!” and just as you turned around he grabbed your wrist and pulled you to him once more.
he kissed you one last time before you went inside. “goodnight beautiful.” he smiled as he started walking away. it took you too seconds before you called after him, dragging him back once more.
“axel, i do have a room to myself… if you wanted to put it to good use?”

☆ off limits- miguel diaz
in which... you're johnny's daughter, and you're off limits to miguel, so the only option is to sneak around.
c/w: kissing, making out, swearing, slight crying, fluff, suggestive, smut, mentions of sex etc.
‧₊˚ ⋅* ‧₊✮‧₊˚ ⋅* ‧₊
it was supposed to be simple.
you were just supposed to be his best friend. but simple didn't exactly work out the way you wanted it to. you never expected this to happen. fleeting glances turned to lingering touches, which turned to secretly making out in the backseat of your dad's minivan while you and miguel waited for him to get ready and drive you to school.
to miguel diaz, you were off limits. that's one of the first things johnny had said to him when you were introduced to him. but that just made him want you more. he couldn't not have you.
it all started after school in the dojo.
johnny had told you both to stay back after practice ended and work on your reverse roundhouse kicks.
"but dad-i, i mean sensei, i have homework!" you protested.
"homework can wait for a day, kid. diaz, you're a nerd, right? you can help her." johnny retorted, walking out the door without waiting for a response.
"hey, i'm not a ner- never mind." miguel sighed, looking at you.
"guess it's just us now." you looked up at him, blush coating your cheeks.
"yep, just us," miguel said, equally as flustered. "come on, show me your, uh, stance."
you got into position, putting your fists up, getting ready to raise your leg. miguel studied your form carefully, his eyes travelling up and down your figure.
"wait, you should turn your hips more to get the extra power- you know what, i'll just show you."
he turned to you, gently placing his hands on your hips and adjusting your body.
"was this just an excuse to touch me, miguel?" you laughed at your best friend.
"wh- no! i mean, yeah? no, wait, no." he stammered on his words, face flushed. "i'm an idiot."
"yeah, but you're my idiot." i grinned. "you still have your hands on my hips, by the way."
"oh fuck, sorry. that's my bad. god, please don't tell sensei about this, he'll kill me. oh, you're going to tell him, aren't you? yeah, that's it, i'm getting kicked off the team-" he started rambling.
"miguel." you interrupted him. "just- just stop talking."
his mouth snapped shut, eyes wide. he gulped slowly, the tension in the air hanging awkwardly.
without another word, you closed the gap between you and him. you gently cupped his jaw, and pulled him in, your lips softly meeting his. miguel snapped out of his trance and kissed you back, his hands slowly finding your waist, pulling you closer to him. your fingers found their way into his hair.
the kiss deepened, and his tongue swiped on your lower lip. you parted your mouth, and his tongue met yours. you let out a small moan, surprised by the sudden action. you both broke apart, breathing heavily, foreheads resting against one another.
"i've been wanting to do this for too long now." miguel breathed.
"trust me, i know." you laughed and kissed the corner of his mouth.
and that was that. the thin line between being friends and something more had been blurred. miguel and you were perfect for each other. he was like the missing piece of the puzzle of your life.
even when miguel got injured, you were with him through everything. you and johnny even helped him get back up on his feet.
"you're a sensei. it's who you are. if you can't see that, you're blind." miguel looked at your dad, disappointment etched across his face.
"miguel, i think that's enough, yeah?" you looked at your boyfriend, wincing at his harsh words for your dad.
you looked at your dad, confused at his shocked expression when you looked down to his hand- he wasn't holding the rope that helped miguel stand like a pulley system.
"oh my god," you gasped. your hand flied over your mouth in disbelief- you couldn't believe it. miguel was standing on his own.
"miguel.." johnny muttered under his breath.
"what?" he said in annoyance. but as he glanced down, his expression shifted from irritation to pure shock. his body went still as he realized what had happened.
"am i doing it?" he stammered, eyes wide.
"oh my god, you're doing it." you breathed, stepping closer to him, now standing next to your dad.
miguel blinked, trying to process the impossible. "holy shit, i'm doing it!" miguel's voice cracked.
"you're doing it!" johnny said, unable to control his excitement.
johnny pulled you and miguel into the tightest hug, his arms wrapping around both of you with a warmth that felt almost protective.
"thank you." miguel breathed, his voice laced with emotion.
"nah, thank you." johnny sighed in relief. "i'm going to bring carmen here if she's off work, okay?" he asked the two of you.
"yeah, sure dad." you mumbled, not taking your eyes off of miguel. as soon as you heard the door shut, you pulled your boyfriend into a hug.
"oh my god, miggy, i'm so happy." you breathed into his chest.
"me too. so much." miguel kissed the top of your head, cherishing the moment.
you eyes welled up with tears. you looked up at him. "i'm so proud of you. i love you, miguel. and i know we've never said that before, but i do, so, so much. it's okay, you don't have to say it back-"
"i love you too, ángel. i love you so much." he looked down at you in adoration, and slowly pulled you into a kiss.
you let a few tears fall, and he broke the kiss, wiping at them. "aw, don't cry," he laughed in adoration and pulled you back into a hug.
you chuckled, wiping your eyes, leaning your head into his chest. after a few seconds, miguel called out your name.
"yeah?" you mumbled from his chest.
"if my legs work, does this finally mean we can fuck again?" he asked you.
"miguel, shut the fuck up."
they did fuck. a lot of times, in fact. they were almost caught a few times too. you contemplated whether or not to tell your dad, but decided against it. johnny had made it pretty clear that he didn't want anything happening between his daughter and miguel.
it was just supposed to be a study session, but all thoughts about chemistry flew out the window the second miguel saw you in your favourite pair of shorts.
you were currently straddling his lap, moving your hips at an agonizingly slow pace, feeling his hardness right under your core.
your lips were moving against his in a frenzy, your lip gloss now smeared all over his mouth. you moaned in his mouth, feeling his cock brush against your clothed clit over and over again.
"mi-miggy... we were supposed to... study.." you mumble between kisses.
miguel hummed in response, too occupied by the way your tongue felt in his mouth. he grabbed the back of your head and tilted it, allowing him to deepen the kiss.
"fuck, what if dad comes home?" you break away from the kiss, breathing heavily.
"ángel, i really don't want to think about sensei when you're on my lap in these fucking shorts." miguel groaned.
"good point." you pulled his collar and smashed your lips against his again. you hands found his hair, tugging at his messy curls as he held your hips, guiding you up and down his jean-clad cock.
"fuck, miguel!" you moaned loudly as his erection rubbed against your core. "i think i'm going to-"
you both froze at the sound of the main door of your apartment shutting. "hey, kid, i'm home! " your dad shouted. "is diaz still here? i wanted to show you both the new equipment i got.."
"oh fuck, fuck, fuck, we're so fucked!" you exclaimed as miguel practically pushed you off of him. you fixed your hair, pulling your previously ridden-up shorts down. miguel wiped your lipgloss off of his mouth, gesturing for you to do the same. you threw him a backpack so that he could cover his erection, and reached for the textbooks left in the dust in the corner of your bed.
your dad turned the door handle, just in time. "oh hey, there you both are."
"hey sensei." miguel greeted.
"hey, dad," you got up from your bed, legs slightly shaking, and made your way to johnny. without a word, you wrapped your arms around him in a tight hug. he gently kissed the top of your forehead, his touch warm and reassuring. "how was your day?" you said, letting go.
"eh, same old. kicked a guy's ass today. he was being an asshole and he deserved it. did you both study?" he looked between the two of you. "wait, is something going on? diaz, why are you hugging that backpack?"
"uh, no reason, sensei. just... wanted to hug something to make up for the absence of a girlfriend. just... a physical placeholder for a deeper emotional need?" he stammered.
"okay, sounds good. we'll get you some hot babes." johnny lifted his fist up. "listen up, i'm going over to the larusso's to sort something out okay? no funny business."
"obviously. gross, dad." you muttered, trying to sell it.
he shut the door of you bedroom, and you collapsed on your bed. "that was too fucking close." you sighed.
"yeah, you were close, too." miguel grinned.
"oh, shut it."
you had to to tell your dad someday, right? you both had planned it out perfectly. miguel would invite you and johnny over for dinner at his place, where they would break the news to johnny and carmen , as yaya and robby already knew.
"god, i hope everything goes well." you groaned, resting your head against miguel's chest. "dad doesn't really take change that nicely."
you and miguel had spent two hours planning on how to tell your respective parents that you both were dating. after getting tired, you decided to get out of the apartment for some fresh air.
"babe, i'm sure everything's going to be fine, okay? just relax." miguel reassured you, rubbing your shoulder in comfort.
"i hope so. i'm so sick of sneaking around, miggy. i want to kiss you without fearing that my dad might walk in from somewhere." you groaned, looking up at him.
"oh yeah? like this?" miguel dropped his head down, his lips meeting yours in a kiss. he lifted you up and spun you around. you shrieked your arms landing on the back of his neck instinctively.
"miggy! he might come home soon! we're literally out in the open." you giggled.
he set you down and grabbed your face in his hands, and pressed a soft kiss to your forehead.
"what're you both doing?"
you both jumped apart at the noise, freezing as you came face to face with johnny. "oh my god, dad, i can explain-"
"diaz, what did i tell you about my daughter being off limits? so you're telling me, the times the both of you've been studying in your room," johnny made quotation marks in the air to emphasize studying. "you've been doing it?"
"ew, gross, dad! there's not been any doing, okay? jeez, you're making it sound so much worse than it is!" you exclaim.
"that's it. miguel, you're off the team. you too, kid." johnny lifts up a finger at you and miguel, anger etched across his face.
'hey, sensei, come on! this isn't fair!" miguel takes a step forward.
"i don't care. kid, let's go." he looked towards you.
"dad, please, atleast hear us out. we have dinner today at the diaz's place. we'll sit down and explain everything. i swear."
"okay, whatever. let's go." he grumbled, waiting for you follow.
you gave miguel a look of pity, and slowly walked towards your dad, not looking him in the eye.
by the time dinner came around, you had lost all hope of your father accepting the fact that his student and his daughter were dating.
you, miguel, robby, carmen, johnny, and miguel's yaya sat at the round dining table in the diaz residence.
"so, uh, dad, ms. diaz, we, uh, wanted to tell you both something. dad, you already know, due to today's... incident. me and miguel are dating."
"what? that's great! i'm so happy for you guys!" carmen exclaimed, putting her fork down.
"no, not great. nothing about this is great." johnny grumbled, playing with his food.
"sensei, we're not just messing around. i love her." miguel dropped his fork on his plate.
"and, dad, miguel's amazing. he's smart, he's funny, he's literally your student. you know him. i don't think i could find anyone else that would be better for me." you interlocked your hand with miguel's and rested it on the table.
"to be fair, dad, i was pretty mad at first too. but it's okay, man. miguel's like my brother, and i wouldn't want anybody else to date sis. our school is filled with assholes." robby explained.
"thanks, rob." you smiled at your brother.
"come on, johnny, i'm okay with it. they're pretty cute together." carmen nudged johnny.
"yeah, yeah. it's okay, i guess. but if i see any funny business around here, i'll kick both your asses, okay? and keep the kissing to a minimum. i don't want to come home to a porno. i catch you both doing something you're not supposed to, i will not hesitate to-" johnny started.
"okay, okay. i got it, sensei. i'll treat her right." miguel let out a small laugh.
"ya han hecho mucho. he oído la mayor parte." yaya giggled.
carmen's eyes turned into saucers. "yaya!" miguel exclaimed.
"what'd you say?" johnny asked.
"nothing, johnny. don't worry about it." carmen rubbed johnny's back.
miguel leaned over to you. "see? i told you it was going to go okay." he squeezed your hand. you smiled at him, nodding.
you weren't so off limits to miguel anymore.

I think Jae is like a radioactive lime green colour. she wasn't actually supposed to be anything more than a side character in her world but unfortunately she is able to change her own fate as well as that of those around her. the Writer has no control over what she does to the storyline so yeah, she's like an unstable mess of radioactive green which can't be controlled or stopped.

heyyy could u write a one shot of kwon x reader where they weren't able to see each other for months (reader travelled to a different country and he had to go to the tournament) but reader finally had the chance to go to the sekai taikai and surprises him? maybe suggestive ;) But fluff is ok too, thank youn!
UNSPOKEN DESIRES || kwon jae-sung
a/n: LMAOOO SNEAKY ANON but yk what ill do it (hes too fine). crazy how i wrote the bf hcs of him yesterday and now i got 3 reqs lmao, not complaining tho. also i want to find good icons to put on my kwon reqs but I CANT CHOOSE,,
warnings; SUGGESTIVE, cursing (only like..once), uhh thats all i think
Tumblr media
Kwon stood up along with the rest of the Cobra Kai members, barely paying attention to the announcements being said at the moment— too deep in thought— thoughts of you.
The past few months were hard. Not just for him, for you too. You had to travel to another country for a while due to a family emergency regarding a very ill relative. Although you both facetimed and texted everyday, the distance was still there. It wasn’t the same.
The Sekai Taikai was able to get Kwon to focus on the tournament, but even so it wasn’t enough. His mind kept drifting off to you. He never thought your absence would affect him that much, but ever since you told him you had to stay there longer, he felt the ache in his chest deepen with each passing day. He probably wouldn’t say it out loud, but he missed you. A lot.
As everyone was allowed to leave, Kwon let out a sigh, head tilted a bit low as he walked with the rest of his dojo. What was up with him? He won every match he had, why did it not fuel him up with satisfaction anymore? Even messing around with other dojos wasn’t becoming as fun. It frustrated him.
“Hey, wanna go with us to a bar nearby later?” Yoon went up to him, slightly nudging his shoulder with his elbow.
Kwon snapped out of his thoughts, and stopped walking. Maybe it wasn’t a bad idea, he could forget about the emptiness in his heart. “..Sure, why not. I could use some distraction.” He replied. Without saying anything else, he walked away.
· · ·
You let out a sigh of relief after managing to get inside the building where the tournament was being held. You may or may not have lied your way in by saying you were one of Cobra Kai’s backups and Sensei Kim requested you come here as an emergency.
Those at the desk were a bit skeptical, but thankfully didn’t question any further and let you pass.
You walked past the big hallways, trying to think where the rooms were, thinking he was probably resting. You couldn’t wait to see him again— his eyes, his hair, that stupid yet charming smirk he had on his face.
Suddenly, you passed by a teenage guy scrolling through his phone. Maybe he knew Kwon, it was worth asking.
“Uh..excuse me,” You started, a bit nervous as you walked up to him. “Do you know the room number Kwon Jae-Sung is staying in?”
Demetri looked up, an eyebrow raised at the..random question. Out of all the questions you could have asked, this one didn’t cross his mind. He glanced around the room, noticing how it was only you and him. “I don’t think..I can give out that information.” He replied.
“Oh, no. It’s not like that—” You said quickly. “I’m his partner. I wanted to see if he’s okay.”
“Partner?” Demetri repeated. “As in, sparring partner? Then you should kn—”
“No!” You exclaimed, interrupting him. You cleared your throat before continuing, “I meant..I’m his partner..romantically.”
“Oh. That makes sense.” Demetri said, before nodding slightly. He leaned in to whisper the room number, then sat back down. “I’m sure he’s doing very fine.. but that’s the number.”
“Thank you, I appreciate it.” Relief washed over you, as you quickly left, going to the elevators.
Demetri watched as you left, before his eyes widened. “Wait. What if they’re not his partner?”
· · ·
Kwon got out of the elevator, laughing along with his team members who were all drunk and held onto each other for support.
Being at the bar did help him be distracted for a while, drinking along while the rest were doing bets on who could drink the most without getting drunk at all.
“Hey, why don’t we go out again for some more fun? It isn’t too late,” One of them suggested.
“Not a bad idea. Let’s go,— Kwon, you comin’?”
“Nah, I’m good. You guys go ahead.” He said. The others left, leaving him alone.
He opened the door to his room, shutting it behind him and turned on the lock. Walking over to his bed, he began to take off his shirt and draped a towel around his waist. Just as he was going to enter the shower, a finger tapped on his shoulder.
As he turned around, he was taken by surprise.
You were standing there, with a mischievous smile.
How did you get in his room? Was he dreaming? Was he too tired after training? Did he drink too much? Did he—
“I got you~!” You said with a chuckle.
He couldn’t feel his heartbeat— he couldn’t believe it. You were here, in front of him. After months of longing, of only talking through a screen, you were standing right there, your bodies’ mere inches away from the other. Without thinking, he closed the distance between you two, pulling you into his arms.
“I can’t believe you’re here,” he mumbled into your hair, his fingers tracing the curve of your back, feeling the warmth of your body against his.
You laughed softly, pulling away slightly to meet his gaze, “I thought I’d surprise you.”
“Yeah..and you did,” He replied. “but now that you’re here..” His eyes trailed over your body up and down, voice low. The tension built between you both was obvious, the look in his eyes said it.
His lips twitched into a smirk, pulling you close to him again, “Tell me my love, did you miss me a lot?” He asked, in a teasing yet flirtatious tone.
“Maybe, who knows?” you mumbled, your lips brushing against his ear as you whispered, “Want to find out?”
Kwon didn’t reply, his lips crashing on yours as his hands instinctively held onto your waist. The kiss deepened, hinting at the need that every inch of his body begged for. It was obvious to you—he wanted more.
Your fingers went up his chest, your other hand pulling him even closer to you–if that was possible.
He pulled away for a second, as your eyes met. His dark eyes were full of lust, but also shone with a hint of mischief. Before you knew it, Kwon leaned in again, kissing your jaw and trailing down to your collarbone. Removing a hand that was on your hip, he held onto your leg, lifting it up as you curled it around his waist.
Kwon kept kissing your body, the sounds that left your lips only fueling his desire. He had your back pressed against the wall, and began to take off your shirt.
“Fuck..” He silently cursed to himself as he looked up to see your expression— cheeks red as you tried to steady your breathing.
“Looking like a mess, how cute. And just for me, right?”
You nodded frantically, wanting him to stop teasing and continue.
Knowing you were desperate, Kwon chuckled. “Don’t worry love, after so many months apart, I’m not done with you just yet.”

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
synopsis : kwon makes a lovely boyfriend despite his cold demeanor towards everyone.
genre : fluff, mild angst
warning(s) : creepy men implied
𝜗𝜚 kwon jae-sung who absolutely hates sweets. he prefers spicy foods all the way but he can’t help but devour the homemade chocolates you gift him every year for valentine’s day.
𝜗𝜚 kwon jae-sung who sucks at baking. white day falls a month after valentine’s day so he decides that the only gift suitable for such occasion was homemade pastries. only one problem though, kwon can’t follow recipes to save his life. so after a few attempts he calls you for help, turning it into a fun baking date.
𝜗𝜚 kwon jae-sung who insists on walking you home every night after practice. he knows your a good fighter better than most of the guys on the team but it helps ease his mind that he’s there to protect you from the evil of the world. he needs to know that your safe because he can’t imagine what he would do if you ever got hurt.
𝜗𝜚 kwon jae-sung who says words of endearment in korean. although kwon is a confident guy he can’t help but feel shy when it comes to telling you how he truly feels.
𝜗𝜚 kwon jae-sung who can’t communicate. at the beginning of the relationship kwon hated being vulnerable, especially with you. he can’t seem to tell you about the things that bother him. which leads him to ignoring you. after a much needed confrontation conversation on your part, he decides to open up about his worries.
𝜗𝜚 kwon jae-sung who struggles with affection. as much as he loves you, it still feels very foreign to him to receive verbal affection. sure he’s had his fair share of admirers but with you it’s different. he’s still not used to the compliments that dig into the very core of his being.
𝜗𝜚 kwon jae-sung who thinks social media is stupid. he claims he doesn’t care for it because he’s such a busy guy. like who needs social media anyways? he does. his feed is filled with pictures of the two of you, making it abundantly clear to everyone that he has the most amazing girlfriend ever.
𝜗𝜚 kwon jae-sung who loves to match. at first he thought it was embarrassing. why would a tough guy like him want to have a matching pink sanrio keychains with his girlfriend? but it started to grow on him after seeing how cute you looked while asking him. who is he to deny his lovely girlfriend?

Kwon and his Girlfriend
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A/N: Trust Kwon isn't dead🎀
Boyfriend!Kwon that loves holding you as he sleeps. Every night you’d go to bed next to him and he’d wrap his arms around you, you absolutely loved how he seemed to love cuddling with you.
Boyfriend!Kwon who loves you to death and has always scared people away, especially because he seemed like a guard dog standing behind you as he stared down at the person infront of you. Though as soon as you looked back he was back to the sweet boy you know and love.
Boyfriend!Kwon loves touching your skin not in a sexual way, he just loves the feeling of your skin under his fingertips. He’d be propped up on his elbow while you lay on your back giggling as he touched you.
Boyfriend!Kwon that always trained hard and the reason was so if anyone dared to hurt his sweet girl, he'd surely have their head on a stick in a few minutes.
Boyfriend!Kwon who's face looks like the color of a tomato when you’re sleep talking and keep mentioning him. He thinks you're dreaming about some guy trying to ask you out but you keep rejecting him and mentioning Kwon who's called “Pretty boy” according to you.
Boyfriend!Kwon that plans on marrying you as soon as the both of you are older. Who would he be to not marry you? An idiot is what he would be if didn't. So though you didn't know he was already saving up for when he'd buy the prettiest ring for the prettiest girl in his life.
Boyfriend!Kwon who did the things that other guys would call silly. He'd make sure that your every “silly” need was tended to, if it meant taking off your heels because you were too tired to do it yourself he’d do it. if it meant waiting a couple seconds while you took pictures of the pretty looking food he didn't mind as long as it was you.
Boyfriend!Kwon who doesn't mind you putting makeup on him or doing a skincare routine on him. (he didn't need one since his skin was already flawless) He didn't even mind when you asked if he could watch Disney princess movies with you.
Boyfriend!Kwon who knows your worth and wouldn't dream of ever hurting you so badly that he’d lose you. Kwon swears on his life he’d never mistreat you in any way, and boy does he really stick by that. He was the most kind, loving, sweet and gentleman you had ever known.
Kwon to you was a big softie. Though you'd seen him fight or spar, you know that side of him would never be directed at you. Kwon loved you so much and though he was a troublemaker her wanted stupid enough to lose you.

kwon jaesung x reader | cobra kai
synopsis, cute instagram moments of your relationship with jaesung.
warnings, fluff, possibly ooc jaesung
note, i got a little carried away lol. i couldn't find any pictures i needed of brandon so instead i used a bunch of faceless pictures of random boys. i was almost gonna write something with canon ending, but i figured it was too soon for that. jaesung is probably ooc, but honestly idc i needed some cute fluff after watching part two. thank you for reading and i hope you enjoy!
translation for picture 6 (i found it online so if it's wrong blame the internet), 말로 표현할 수 없을 만큼 사랑해요 - i love you more than words can express

His eyes couldn't help but drift to you. Your hair, your lips, your eyes, your smile. There was something about you that made Kwon infatuated by you. He knew the relationship would never happen. Afterall, you were Robby's younger sister. And Robby hated him after that whole incident with Tory.
Truth be told, Kwon never had a thing for Tory, it was always you. Getting close to Robby and teasing him on purpose just to see your cute face. You had picked up on Kwon's behavior and it had made you a blushing mess. Ever since your eyes locked on the mat on the first day, there was an immediate liking to him. His smile alone had you in a trance.
In between matches, you and Kwon shared a conversation or two and had grown attached to one another. You had learned that Kwon had a soft side to him and you smiled at the memory of him showing you his Good luck charm plushie, which was a cute panda.
And now here you were, alone and sitting on the sand. Your teammates had wandered around a small club in Barcelona and you decided to take a walk to ease your mind. You faced the ocean and shut your eyes for a moment before hearing a friendly voice calling you out.
"Hey, room for one more?..." You looked up and instantly smiled at the sight of Kwon. "Yeah, have a seat." You hummed and turned back to the ocean. Smiling, he took a seat and stared out into the ocean with you.
"What are we going to do with this?" He questioned. "With what?" You knew what he was talking about but you didn't want to discuss it. "Don't play dumb Y/n. You know I want you and I know you want me too..." He softly spoke, neither one of you looking at eachother.
You looked down, fiddling with your fingers. "Let's tell Robby we want to be together, its not his opinion on what you do." He said it so plainly but it was harder than that.
"You think it's easy, don't you?" You scoffed and looked at him. "I can't just tell him that Kwon-" "Why not?! He shouldn't have a say on who "you love. It's up to us and how we take care of this."
"It's hopeless. My brother would never accept you." "Do you?" Kwon cut you off once more. "What?" "I said... do you accept me?" You chuckled nervously. "Of course I do." "Then that should be enough. No one can say what we get to be." Your eyes softened, realizing he was right.
●○●○●○●
"You can't be serious! You're dating that son of a bitch?!" Robby yelled at you. "He's not a bad person!" You defended your new lover. "Yes, he is! He's probably just using you!" With that, you clenched your jaw and screamed at your older brother. "Screw you Robby! I never said anything when you dated Tory, so don't come butting into my relationship!" Robby shook his head out of disbelief as he watched you storm out his hotel room.
Later that day, it was Kwon and Robby's match. You stood in the sidelines, watching your brother and boyfriend fight for the semi finals spot. All you could see where the kicks and couldn't hear a word they were saying to each other.
"Stay away from my sister!" Robby grunted, throwing a punch to kwon which he blocked. "She loves me and I love her!" Kwon replied, landing a punch on Robby's chest. "Cobra Kai! 2-2!" The referee announced. One more point until you'd find out the team that would progress to the semifinals. "You don't love her, your just using her to get to me!" Robby said out of anger.
That took Kwon by surprise. He could never do that to you... he cared too much for you. Kwon looked at you for a split second, turning vulnerable to Robby. Your brother took the chance and grabbed made Kwon fall to the ground.
"I love her too much to do that to her." Kwon said, looking up at Robby. Your brother stopped for a moment, seeing how Kwon was no longer fighting back. "What?..." The match was stopped.
"Robby do it! Take him out!" Miguel screamed for the sidelines. "You heard me." Kwon responded. Robby looked at you before hitting Kwon in the chest and winning. "Miyagi Do wins!" The referee shouted.
Both boys got up and looked at you. 'Wait, Kwon-" Robby stopped him. He looked back at your older brother, shocked to see his hand extended. "Good match..." Robby shook his hand. "Take care of my sister for me, okay?" He whispered and smiled at Kwon before walking away.
"What was that about?" You laughed and approached your boyfriend. "I think your brother finally likes me." Kwon smiled and kissed you head.
"I finally have you." Kwon said and kissed your lips this time.
"And I don't plan on letting go." he whispered against them.

Hi your axel fic was really good! I was wondering if you could write a fic about kwon and a Miyagi-Do reader.Enemies to lovers lots of tension.
thank you so much and thank you aswell for requesting, i had sm fun with writing this!! i hope you enjoy :)
locker room
pairing: kwon jae-sung x reader
summary: kwon and y/n hated eachother, because of a little incident on the first day.. and because of the karate thing. but kwon can’t help but flirt around a little bit.
warnings: stupid rivalry, enemies to lovers!, kissing, making out, kwon is sassy, flirting, swearing,
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
you were so excited to be on the miyagi-do team for the sekai takai! you weren’t captain, but you didn’t mind at all because you had your best friend, sam, there with you and you knew your capabilities under pressure.
it was practically your natural state at this point :)
you and sam decided to share a room in barcelona. which was probably for the better, considering neither of you wanted to share with the boys, except for maybe sam and miguel.
after an insanely long flight, you arrived at the hotel and immediately dropped your backpack to your bed and felt each tired muscle in your back start to decompress.
you went to shower, wanting to rinse off the dirt from travelling. after washing your hair and body, you stepped out and dried yourself off. you brushed through your knotted, wet hair and put on some baggy shorts and an off-shoulder tshirt.
it was around 5:30pm, which meant it was around 8am back home, most of your team wouldn’t even be awake yet. you went back into the main area of the room and saw sam laying on her bed, scrolling on her phone.
“i’m gonna go down to the buffet and see if i can grab something to eat, do you want anything?” you asked her and she wearily looked up from her phone and replied with a “no, thanks!”
you smiled and acknowledged her response before you put on some sneakers and grabbed your phone and room key from on top the dresser, and headed out. you made your way to the elevator and managed to find the open buffet nearby the reception.
the buffet was relatively empty, which wasn’t surprising due to the lack of people who typically had an appetite at 5:30pm. there was one or two people in the corner, eating something you couldn’t quite make out, and someone else on the right hand side of the room.
you grabbed two pieces of a brown bread at the back of the serving tray. once you did, you grabbed a selection of butter, avocado and some smoked salmon, putting it beside the bread on your plate. yum!
you grabbed some tissues, and a knife and fork and began to walk back towards the elevator. the elevator was empty, so your ride was quite peaceful. you held the plate with both hands, the knife and fork, and napkin were balanced in your right hand.
Tumblr media
you were so focused on holding onto your plate and keeping it steady, that as soon as you heard the elevator doors open with a ding!, you stepped out and immediately collided with a tall figure infront of you.
you watched in horror as the slimier foods slid down the person’s body and your plate landed on the carpet with a soft thump. you tilted your head upwards to look at their reaction before you frantically apologised.
of course, he was fucking gorgeous. the first enemy you make for yourself in barcelona was one of the most handsome men you had ever seen. he glared down at you which such anger. “what the fuck?” he said, with a thick, korean accent.
damn even his voice was hot!
as you came back up again you began to apologise. “i’m so sorry, i didn’t mean to spill that on you, i can help you clean it or-“ you paused your rambling as you watched the guy continue to glare at you angrily through your speech.
his gaze was filled with nothing but fury. “don’t let it fucking happen again.” he bumped your shoulder as he walked past you, to the elevator. you knelt back down to the floor to clean up as much as you could, before you just went back to your room.
Tumblr media
you saw him again the next day. the sekai takai had organised a field trip to the barcelona aquarium. there was a lot of different people there, but only one really stood out to you, and that was kwon.
well, clearly he stood out, i mean he was yelling at everyone, challenging all of the dojo captains to a kicking contest, and of course, robby couldn’t just step aside for once.
you were peacefully drinking your water, as the boys spoke, and it was safe to say you had zoned out completely. that was until you heard what they were betting. you coughed and spluttered, putting your water bottle into sam’s hands and struggling to speak for a second.
“sorry what?” you asked, with a mix of confusion and embarrassment. kwon’s head turns to you with his signature smirk, one you only noticed now, as before he had only thrown scowls your way.
“i said..” he paused and took one step closer to you. “if he wins, he gets my room, if i win, i get yours.” he delivered with a wink. you felt your cheeks heat up, confused as to why this was because you were enraged.
“what, how is that fair, i’m not even playing?” you answered, angry that your room was being gambled away without your consent. your weight shifted from one foot to the other.
“oh relax, sweetheart, i wouldn’t kick you out or anything.” he flirted with you once more before he turned his body back to robby and held out his hand
“deal.” robby answered, and they shook on it. you gasped, and pushed robby in the chest. but at the same time, you were confused because why would this hot guy from the elevator, who DESPISES you, want the key to your room?
despite his skills, robby somehow lost the competition and you find yourself face to face with kwon. “hand over the room key, princess.” you wanted nothing more than to wipe the stupid smirk off his face and tell him to leave you alone. your response was only a little bit nicer than that. “no.” you replied, your gaze shifting around the room, as you felt scared to look him in the eyes.
“if you’re gonna try to reject me, at least look in my eyes when you do it.” he spoke, his voice low and commanding. something about it made you wanna listen, and so you did.
you stared into his dark eyes and repeated yourself. “i don’t want to give you my room key.” he chuckled to himself, under his breath. you maintained eye contact, not wanting to pull away.
he rolled his eyes at your attitude. “okay, well i’m gonna talk to your captain over there, and sort this out because a deal is a deal.” he replied and started walking over to robby.
they argued back and forth for a while but in the end, you didn’t have to sleep in a room with kwon. much to his dismay, robby gave up him and miguel’s room and had to share with the other boys.

your next interaction happened on the day of the final. cobra kai had narrowly escaped elimination and were going to fight in the last round. the matches were 30 minutes from starting and you had only then realised that you wouldn’t have another opportunity to go back inside the locker rooms and you left your water bottle there.
you ran over to the shared locker rooms, one you coincidentally shared with cobra kai, as soon as you arrived, you found yourself stopped in the doorway watching as the very guy you had secretly hoped to see was there, packing up some of his gear.
the large metal door was propped open by a small wooden doorstop, a detail that you had missed in the midst of your staring. you took a step forward and knocked over the doorstop. you stumbled, nearly falling to the ground.
kwon turned around at this and let out a small laugh at your misfortune, but he shut up as soon as he realised the door was shut and could not be opened from the inside.
“do you have any idea what you just did.” he practically growled at you. he was absolutely enraged, but he didn’t seem as angry as he had been during the elevator incident. you apologised but he still seemed quite angry.
you sat down against the wall, and he sat on a bench across from you. there was quite a loud silence between you, except for the quiet whirring of the fan above you. you couldn’t seem to take your eyes off of kwon. he bothered you, and confused you and made you feel things and ugh.
you hated him, but most of all you hated his karate. wait.. maybe you could start a conversation about that! “what got you into cobra kai?” you asked him.
you looked up at him and he met your gaze. he swallowed, and left the silence there for a moment as he thought of what to say.
“well, i was in a dojang before, do you know what that is?” he replied and you nodded along, your interest piqued.
“so my kwanjang was incredibly conservative. she knew one style of teaching and disciplined anyone who didn’t feel comfortable with it. it was rough, it was such a fucked up environment, but then sensei kreese came and she never relaxed but he helped me seize my power, and i haven’t really looked back since then.”
he spoke with conviction and you were surprised by his sincerity. you thought for a moment, never taking your eyes off his and replied. “i get that.”
a beat passed. “but cobra kai is angry, it’s viscous, and there’s no ethics to it. no mercy is not how the real world works.”
he swallowed and nodded, accepting the weight of your words, and you were impressed that he was so considerate of you. he matched your behaviour, taking his time to think of what to say before he replied.
“well, look. at the end of the day, i have to look out for myself. i know who i am and no dojo can change it.”
you accepted his answer, truth be told, you fully agreed. and your impression of him completely shifted. you shivered slightly, the room had turned quite cold. kwon noticed and you watched as he removed the cobra kai hoodie he wore over his gi.
he offered it to you which you gladly accepted, and flushed a little. he scooted across the floor to hand it over to you.
he was really close and he brushed his fingers over your wrist as he handed it to you. you put it on, and he felt something inside him flutter as he saw you in his clothes.
you glanced at him and he was so close you couldn’t feel your legs anymore. you couldn’t feel your fingers or the emptiness of the room because all you paid attention to was his gaze, that was still never left you.
his expression turned vulnerable as he put a hand to your cheek. “please don’t hit me for this…” he whispered, as he leaned in close to you and kissed you.
his lips were soft and you couldn’t help but wrap your fingers around his collar to pull him closer to you. you kissed him with passion and at some point, you pulled back, out of breath.
he seemed even more vulnerable for a moment, thinking he was just rejected. “do you want me to stop?” he asked you, his voice laced with a worry that you found difficult to detect.
you panted for a second, your hands never leaving his collar and your eyes never leaving his. “just the opposite, please.” you mumbled breathily against his lips as you pulled him back in, reconnecting your lips.

‘Oh my goodness, yes!’ Sam cried out, bursting into our room with uncontainable energy. Startled by the sudden commotion, I stood up quickly, my gaze darting around the space as golden sunlight poured through the window, illuminating everything in its path and landing squarely on my face.
‘What’s going on?’ I asked, my fingers absentmindedly combing through my tousled hair, still heavy with the haze of sleep.
‘They’ve rescheduled the semi-finals—by two whole days!’ she exclaimed, gripping my shoulders with unrestrained enthusiasm. Her excitement was palpable as she began to shake me, almost as though trying to transfer her joy through sheer force.
A laugh escaped me, light and unguarded. I felt as if I had awakened from the most peaceful, restorative rest I could remember, and her jubilant announcement only elevated the sense of ease and delight lingering in the air.
‘So, what’s the plan?’ I asked, sitting upright in bed, my fingers lightly brushing over the edge of the blanket as I smoothed it out. My mind wandered to my wardrobe, already strategizing the perfect outfit for the day. From the corner of my eye, I noticed Sam at her vanity, meticulously applying her makeup. Her movements were quick but precise, the kind of efficiency that came with years of practice.
‘Breakfast, beach, bonfire, and then sleep,’ she replied, clapping her hands together in satisfaction as she stepped out of the bathroom, her beach outfit perfectly chosen and accessorized. It suited her effortlessly confident demeanor. ‘Tomorrow, we’ll explore Barcelona. Properly this time.’
‘Sounds perfect,’ I said, standing and stretching with a calm, deliberate movement. I wandered to the window, briefly letting the sunlight warm my face, before turning my attention back to my bedside table, tidying the few things that were out of place.
A knock interrupted the moment, and I turned my head toward the door. Sam shot me a glance, with a quick nod, she strode to the door.
I couldn’t hear the conversation clearly, but the tone was unmistakable—coolly polite, with an undertone of tension. When Sam returned, Tory and Kwon followed closely behind her, their presence instantly changing the energy in the room.
‘Tory!’ I greeted warmly, my voice genuine as I crossed the room to hug her. Though our dynamic had been competitive lately, I still couldn’t help but feel a soft spot for her charm.
‘Whoa, hey, Y/n,’ Tory said with a light laugh, hugging me back tightly before stepping away. Her ever-sunny demeanor masked the sharpness in her eyes, which flicked around the room as if cataloging every detail.
I turned to Kwon next, his tall figure leaning casually against the doorframe as though he owned the space. His expression was as smug as ever, and in his hand, he held a small paper bag, which he tossed onto the nearby table with a calculated nonchalance.
‘For you,’ he said, his tone dripping with arrogance. ‘You went a little overboard last night. Figured you’d need this to recover. Electrolytes, aspirin, green tea. You’re welcome.’
I arched a brow, stepping forward to inspect the bag. ‘Thoughtful of you,’ I replied, my tone measured and neutral, refusing to rise to the bait. ‘Though I’m perfectly fine this morning, thank you.’
He let out a quiet scoff, his smirk widening. ‘Right. Because chugging cocktails like they’re water doesn’t have consequences. Try to pace yourself today, or are you planning to make a habit of needing my help?’
‘Don’t flatter yourself, Kwon,’ Sam cut in, her voice sharp as she moved to my side. Her gaze was icy as it flicked between the two of them. ‘We’re perfectly capable of managing our day without your… oversight.’
I could see Tory nudge Kwon lightly with her elbow, clearly trying to break the tension. He merely rolled his eyes, the picture of indifference.
‘Don’t mind him, Y/n. He’s just trying to be helpful… in his own special way,’ she said with a grin, her voice carrying that easy charm she always relied on to smooth things over.
‘I’m glad we caught you before you headed out,’ Tory added cheerfully, brushing her hair over one shoulder as she surveyed the room.
I offered a calm smile, effortlessly dismissing Kwon’s air of arrogance. ‘It’s always a pleasure to see you both,’ I replied smoothly, maintaining my composure.
My gaze shifted to the clock on the wall before I turned back to them. ‘Have you eaten yet? If not, you should join us for breakfast. We’re heading out soon.’ I reached for my bag and began pulling out my neatly folded clothes, carefully laying them on the chair beside me.
Tory’s face lit up as she nodded enthusiastically. ‘Breakfast sounds perfect!’ she said, her energy contagious as always.
Kwon, on the other hand, gave a dismissive shrug, his posture still lazy and unbothered as he leaned against the doorframe. ‘Sure, why not?’ he muttered, though his tone made it sound like he was doing us a favor by agreeing.
I raised my eyebrows slightly at his nonchalance but didn’t comment. Instead, I gestured toward my clothes with a small smile. ‘Give me ten minutes to change, and we can head out.’
Tory sat down on the edge of my bed, making herself comfortable as she kicked her legs lightly. ‘Take your time, Y/n. We’re in no rush,’ she said, her tone warm and inviting.
Kwon, still stationed at the doorframe, crossed his arms and watched the room with that same unreadable expression. His eyes lingered on my methodical movements as I gathered my things, but his expression betrayed nothing beyond his usual air of aloofness. I ignored him, focused on maintaining the order and ease I carried through my morning.
As I stepped toward the bathroom, I glanced over my shoulder at Tory. ‘Make yourself comfortable. I’ll be ready soon.’
‘Always do,’ she replied with a wink, and I couldn’t help but chuckle softly before disappearing behind the door to change.
After stepping out of the shower, the faint sound of Tory and Sam talking drifted through the door. Their voices were surprisingly calm, and I couldn’t help but smile at the thought. The tension between them had been far from positive for a while now—ever since Tory joined Cobra Kai. But seeing them exchange words without hostility gave me a glimmer of hope.
I wrapped a towel around myself, wiping the steam from the mirror as I thought about Tory. Despite everything, I understood her choices. Her life hadn’t been easy, and joining Cobra Kai must have felt like her only option at the time. Still, it had put a rift between her and the rest of us.
I was happy to see Sam, in her own way, making an effort to bridge the gap. I knew it wasn’t easy for her. Sam had been hurt too, in ways that she didn’t often talk about, and trusting Tory again wasn’t something that could happen overnight. But even this small conversation felt like progress.
After Tory left our dojo, I had tried to reach out to her more times than I could count. Texts, calls, even dropping by her place—most went unanswered. For days, it had felt like she’d shut me out completely. I told myself it was just her way of coping, but it didn’t make the silence sting any less.
Hearing her voice now, though, talking with Sam instead of arguing, gave me hope. Maybe this trip was a chance for all of us to start over—not perfectly, not easily, but step by step. I smiled to myself as I slipped into my clothes, feeling a flicker of optimism.
By the time I opened the door and stepped back into the room, the air felt lighter. Tory was perched on the edge of my bed, gesturing animatedly as she spoke. Sam, leaning casually against the window, listened with a look of cautious interest. The sight made me pause for a moment, appreciating the delicate balance we were all trying to maintain. Maybe today would surprise us all.
I let Tory and Sam continue their conversation, their voices blending into the background as I shifted my attention toward Kwon. He stood near the doorframe, his posture as casual and self-assured as ever, his arms loosely crossed. As I moved about the room, gathering a few essentials into my bag, I decided to make an effort at small talk, even if Kwon’s usual attitude made it a challenge.
Leaning lightly against the wall beside him, I turned my head and smiled politely. ‘So, Kwon, are you excited for the semi-finals?’ I asked, keeping my tone warm and conversational.
His eyes flicked toward me, the familiar glint of arrogance unmistakable as he smirked faintly. He leaned slightly closer, as if to make his next words more pointed. ‘Excited?’ he echoed, his voice dripping with condescension. ‘More like prepared. Excitement’s for people who aren’t confident in their chances.’
I raised an eyebrow at his response but kept my expression composed, refusing to let his bravado faze me. ‘Well, confidence is a good thing,’ I said smoothly, tilting my head slightly. ‘But even the most prepared fighters can use a little excitement to keep them sharp. Don’t you think?’
He gave a quiet scoff, his gaze briefly flicking to Sam and Tory before returning to me. ‘Maybe for some. But I don’t rely on adrenaline to win.’
I smiled faintly at his predictable response, adjusting the strap of my bag on my shoulder. ‘Good to know,’ I said lightly. ‘Though I’d say a balance of both doesn’t hurt. Keeps things… interesting.’
Kwon’s smirk deepened, his eyes narrowing slightly as he studied me. ‘Interesting, huh? You seem awfully calm for someone who’s about to face some serious competition.’
I straightened up and met his gaze, my expression unshaken. ‘Calm doesn’t mean unprepared,’ I replied with an even tone. ‘It just means I trust in the work I’ve put in. There’s no need to overcompensate.’
The faintest flicker of something unreadable crossed his face, but it was gone as quickly as it appeared, replaced by his usual air of superiority. ‘We’ll see about that,’ he said with a shrug, his voice low.
I simply nodded, a serene smile tugging at the corners of my lips as I stepped away to give him space. As I moved toward Sam and Tory, I couldn’t help but feel a small sense of satisfaction. Kwon’s arrogance might be his armor, but I wasn’t about to let it pierce through my calm.
After joining Sam and Tory, I exchanged a few pleasantries before we all left the room together. The morning sunlight streamed through the hallway as we walked, chatting about our plans for the day. It was decided that after breakfast, we’d split up to enjoy the day in our own ways and regroup at the bonfire that evening. Apparently, one of the teams eliminated from the Sekai Taikai had decided to host a massive gathering on the beach—a gesture to let loose and connect after all the intensity of the competition.
At breakfast, we found a table near the window. I slid into the chair closest to the sunlight, with Sam taking the seat next to me. Across the table, Kwon sat directly opposite me, while Tory casually took the spot across from Sam. It was a comfortable arrangement, though Kwon’s piercing, ever-analyzing gaze was hard to ignore.
I pulled out my phone, letting the easy banter around me fade into the background as I scrolled through my notifications. Nothing unusual caught my eye at first—just the usual updates and a few texts—until a new one popped up, stopping me mid-scroll. It was from Axel.
I tapped on it hesitantly, the memory of last night already creeping back into my mind. The message was simple but sent a wave of unease and something unspoken through me: Meet me after breakfast?
I stared at the words, my thoughts racing. The events of the previous night rushed back with startling clarity—the way Axel had put me to bed after my near-embarrassing state, the softness of his voice, the warmth of his touch as he made sure I was comfortable. My cheeks grew hot at the thought, and I could feel my heartbeat quicken.
Glancing around the room, I scanned for him, unsure of whether to respond right away. It didn’t take long to spot him—sitting a few tables away, hunched slightly as he poked at his food. His expression was unreadable, his focus firmly fixed on the table in front of him. Next to him, Zara appeared to be in the middle of a rant, her voice just loud enough to carry snippets of complaint. She waved her phone in his face, rolling her eyes dramatically, but he didn’t seem to care.
I bit my lip, feeling a mix of embarrassment and curiosity as my gaze lingered on him. For a moment, I wondered if he even remembered everything from last night. Did it mean anything to him? Or was it just a matter of responsibility, making sure a opponent didn’t pass out on the spot?
The sudden snap of fingers jolted me out of my thoughts. My eyes darted up, meeting Kwon’s expectant, mildly annoyed expression.
‘You awake over there, or did your phone just suck your soul out?’ he asked dryly, leaning back in his chair with a smirk that bordered on condescending.
I blinked, tucking my phone away quickly to hide the message. ‘Sorry,’ I replied smoothly, brushing a strand of hair behind my ear
His smirk was as insufferable as ever, one eyebrow raised in mock concern. ‘Are you going to join us, or are you plotting your next move over there?’
My posture straightened, offering him a calm smile despite his condescending tone. ‘Just catching up on a few things,’ I replied evenly.
‘Must be important,’ he quipped, loosens up in his chair
‘I like to stay prepared,’ I said, keeping my voice light.
His smirk deepened, but I didn’t give him the satisfaction of a reaction. Instead, I turned my attention back to Sam and Tory, who were now discussing the best way to navigate the city.
But as I reached for my cup of tea, my thoughts drifted back to Axel. He had already made it clear that this competition wasn’t just about skill for him—it was personal. And whether I wanted it or not, we were locked in a rivalry that neither of us could walk away from.
The question now was whether meeting him after breakfast was worth the risk.
After breakfast, Kwon and I were walking behind Sam and Tory as we left the cafeteria, still laughing about Kwon’s ridiculous plans for what he would do if he won Sekai Taikai. His ideas were completely over the top, imagining himself hosting grand celebrations and making impossible demands. I couldn’t help but laugh along, even though part of me knew he was just being his usual, confident self.
But then, I felt a slight tap on my shoulder. I turned around, and there he was—Axel. A mixture of stress and a strange happiness washed over me at the sight of him. I couldn’t help but feel both uneasy and relieved. I wasn’t sure if it was the nervousness from our rivalry or just his presence, but something about him always left me feeling conflicted.
I sighed softly, forcing a smile, and waved at Kwon and Tory, signaling I’d be stepping aside for a moment. Kwon, not looking thrilled at the interruption, offered me a small, almost reluctant smile in return before turning his attention back to Tory.
Sam, sensing the tension, had already made an exit. ‘I’ll give you two some time,’ she said casually, heading for a nearby convenience store to grab snacks for the beach. It was almost as if she knew I’d need some space to handle Axel, though I wasn’t sure if I was ready for whatever conversation was about to unfold between us.
With Sam and Tory gone, it was just me and Axel now, and I couldn’t deny the mix of emotions bubbling up inside me.
Axel stood there in silence for a moment, his gaze fixed on me, and I could feel the familiar tension hanging in the air. Though on the outside I tried to appear calm, inside I was anything but. My heart raced, and my thoughts were a whirlwind, but I kept my posture relaxed, my expression composed.
‘So… what’s up?’ I asked, offering a soft smile, hoping to sound as casual as possible. I folded my arms gently, but there was a nervous flutter inside me that I couldn’t quite shake.
Axel raised an eyebrow, taking his time before responding. He looked around briefly, almost like he was deciding whether or not to speak at all. When he finally did, his voice was steady, though there was an edge to it. ‘We need to talk.’
His words hit me with a jolt, and despite the calm tone, I felt a knot form in my stomach. It wasn’t the friendliest invitation, but it wasn’t exactly a confrontation either. With Axel, it always felt like there was something unsaid lingering between us, and I couldn’t help but wonder what he was thinking now.
I took a deep breath, trying to stay composed. ‘About what?’ I asked, my voice as steady as I could manage.
Axel exhaled sharply, his eyes narrowing for a moment before softening slightly. ‘About what happened yesterday.’
The mention of yesterday made my pulse quicken, but I forced myself to remain outwardly calm. The memory of what had transpired was still fresh—unclear and confusing—and I had hoped we could just move past it without bringing it up. But now that he’d said something, I realized there was no easy way around it.
‘I’m not sure there’s much to say,’ I replied softly, trying to keep my tone light yet truthful. ‘I remember how you helped me get home safely, and I’m grateful for that. But the words you said a few days ago still sting. You said I’m your opponent, and that there’s nothing between us.’ As soon as the words left my mouth, I instantly regretted them.
He didn’t respond immediately, his expression growing more intense. I knew that was probably not the answer he wanted to hear, but I wasn’t about to add fuel to a fire that didn’t need to burn.
‘It’s not that simple,’ Axel said, his tone firm, but there was something in his eyes that made it hard to ignore. He took a step closer, his presence unavoidable, and I could feel the tension between us rise. ‘You can’t just act like the last few days didn’t mean anything,’ he said, his voice carrying an edge of frustration.
I took a moment to collect myself. Though inside, my mind was racing, I remained still on the outside, careful not to let him see how affected I was. I didn’t want to make this more complicated than it had to be.
‘I’m not pretending anything,’ I said softly, meeting his gaze with calm clarity. ‘I just don’t think we need to make a bigger deal out of it. We’re rivals, Axel. It’s complicated enough as it is.’
Axel studied me for a long moment, his gaze unwavering. He seemed to be searching for something, trying to figure out if I was hiding something or if I truly meant what I was saying. But no matter how hard he looked, I didn’t let him see the storm brewing inside me.
The silence stretched between us, thick with unsaid words. Then, Axel spoke again, his voice quieter this time, but still resolute.
‘I think we both know this isn’t just about being rivals.’ His words hung in the air, and despite my best efforts to remain composed, a part of me felt exposed.
Axel stood in front of me, his expression conflicted as the tension between us hung heavy in the air. His gaze flickered between my eyes and the ground, as if searching for the right words. The soft sounds of the world around us seemed distant, as though it was just the two of us in that moment, suspended in time.
He exhaled, his shoulders dropping as if he’d finally come to a realization. ‘Y/n,’ he began, his voice quieter, more vulnerable than I’d ever heard it before. ‘I regret what I said. I… I didn’t mean it.’
I blinked, unsure if I’d heard him right. My heart raced, a mix of confusion and hope swirling inside me. ‘What do you mean?’ I asked, my voice barely above a whisper, not sure if I was ready for the answer.
Axel took a step closer, his eyes locking onto mine with a level of sincerity I hadn’t seen from him before. ‘I said there was nothing between us. But that was a lie. I pushed you away, and I can’t stand the thought of you thinking that I didn’t care.’ His hand gently brushed against my arm, the contact sending a shock of warmth through me. ‘I care, Y/n. More than I should.’
The words hung in the air between us, and for a moment, neither of us moved. I was frozen, unsure of what to say or do, my emotions swirling in a chaotic dance. But his honesty left no room for doubt. I saw it in his eyes—regret, longing, something that was far beyond rivalry.
Before I could respond, Axel took another step forward, closing the distance between us. His hand reached up, cupping my face gently, as if afraid I might pull away. I didn’t. My breath caught in my throat as I looked up at him, my heart pounding.
‘I was scared,’ he admitted, his voice low and raw. ‘Scared of what it meant, scared of how it might change everything. But I can’t deny it anymore.’
I could feel the tension in the air shifting, the walls we’d both built around ourselves crumbling with every word. My chest tightened as his face drew closer, the heat from his body mingling with mine. Then, before I could think, Axel leaned in, his lips brushing against mine with a softness that took my breath away.
The kiss was gentle at first, like he was testing the waters, waiting for me to pull away. But I didn’t. Instead, I found myself melting into the kiss, my hands instinctively reaching up to thread through his hair as I deepened it. Axel’s arms encircled me, pulling me closer, and the world outside us disappeared completely.
In that moment, there was no rivalry, no past mistakes. There was only the warmth of his touch and the truth that had finally been spoken between us. And as we pulled away, I knew things between us would never be the same again.
Axel’s voice was a soft murmur as he spoke against my lips. ‘I’m sorry for pushing you away, Y/n. I should have never said that.’
I smiled, my heart still racing but my mind at ease. ‘It’s okay, Axel. We’re here now.’
Axel gave me a tight smile, his eyes softening, but there was still an unreadable edge to his expression. ‘I guess… I’ll see you later,’ he said quietly, his voice betraying a trace of uncertainty.
I nodded, swallowing the lump in my throat, unsure of how to respond. As Axel turned and walked away, my thoughts swirled—conflicted, confused, but somehow clearer. It was as though a door had cracked open, and I wasn’t sure what was on the other side. I stood there for a moment longer, watching him disappear into the distance, before I took a deep breath and turned toward the hotel’s main entrance.
The lobby felt quieter than usual as I walked through it, the weight of the conversation still lingering in my chest. I could hear the soft hum of distant voices, but they didn’t register, my mind too focused on what had just happened. I made my way to the exit, pushing the heavy door open.
As soon as I stepped outside, the warm air hit me, and I saw Sam waiting by the railing outside the hotel. She was casually leaning against it, a small bag of snacks in her hands, but it was the way she looked at me that told me she had already noticed something wasn’t quite right. Her eyes narrowed slightly, studying me, and I felt a twinge of guilt. She could tell something had happened, even if I hadn’t said a word yet.
‘Everything okay?’ Sam asked, her tone light but with a hint of concern.
I offered a small smile, still feeling the warmth of Axel’s words lingering in my chest. ‘Yeah, everything’s fine. Let’s just go to the beach,’ I said, not quite ready to dive into the details yet.
We walked side by side as we made our way toward the beach, the sounds of the bustling city fading into the background. The salty air filled my lungs as I tried to collect my thoughts, but it was hard to ignore the rush of emotions. Sam didn’t push me to explain right away, though I could tell she was waiting for me to speak.
As we neared the shore, the waves crashing softly in the distance, I finally spoke, my voice low. ‘I… talked to Axel,’ I started, unsure of how to put it all into words. ‘We cleared the air. Kind of.’
Sam raised an eyebrow, clearly intrigued. ‘Cleared the air? What does that mean exactly?’
I sighed, my fingers brushing through my hair as I looked out at the ocean. ‘He admitted he was wrong—about what he said a few days ago, how he acted. He regrets saying that there was nothing between us, that I’m just his opponent. It was… a lot, Sam. But I don’t know if I can believe everything he said yet. It’s confusing.’
Sam nodded, her expression softening as she gave me a sympathetic look. ‘That sounds like a lot to process. But, hey, at least he owned up to it, right? I guess it’s a step in the right direction.’
I nodded slowly, still unsure of what all of it meant. ‘Yeah, I guess. But I’m not sure what to do with it. I’m still trying to figure out where we stand—if things are even going to change between us at all.’
We reached the edge of the beach, the cool sand beneath our feet grounding me, though my thoughts were anything but calm. Sam walked beside me, silent for a moment, before she spoke again, her voice quiet but knowing.
‘You don’t have to have it all figured out right now, Y/n. Just take it one step at a time. And if Axel really means what he said, he’ll show it. Words are one thing, but actions speak louder.’
I looked over at Sam, her words offering a small sense of comfort. She was right, of course. I didn’t need to have all the answers right now. The future was uncertain, but for the first time in a long time, I felt like I could handle it. With the ocean in front of us and the warmth of the sun on our backs, I took a deep breath and let the moment wash over me. Whatever came next, I would face it head-on.
With a soft smile, I turned to Sam. ‘Thanks. Let’s just enjoy the day, yeah?’
We continued walking, the soft sand beneath our feet as we searched for a spot to leave our things. After a few moments, we found a quiet area near the shore, away from the crowds, where we could set our bags down. Sam quickly spread out a towel while I placed the snacks beside us.
Once our things were settled, we turned toward the water, the cool waves lapping at the shoreline. The weight of the conversation with Axel seemed to drift away with each step we took toward the sea. As we waded into the water, the salty breeze lifted my spirits, and the sound of the waves drowned out everything else. Whatever had happened with Axel, whatever came next, I knew I wasn’t alone in this. And that thought brought a quiet sense of peace, at least for now.
‘Hmm, actually, I’m craving some carbonara,’ I murmur, glancing at Sam. Her eyes light up immediately.
‘I was thinking about chicken Alfredo pasta!’ she says excitedly, clapping her hands together.
‘Oh my god, let’s go home, change, head to a restaurant, and then after dinner, we can go to the bonfire!’ She practically bounces up, her enthusiasm contagious.
‘Great idea!’ I smile, already standing and gathering my things. Together, we headed back, excited for what the rest of the day would bring.
As I stood before the mirror, meticulously blow-drying my hair and carefully placing each section into rollers to achieve the perfect blowout effect, Sam’s voice cut through the sound of the dryer. ‘There’s a rather upscale restaurant nearby. Should I secure a reservation?’ she inquired with an air of casual consideration.
I peeked my head from behind the bathroom door, offering her a warm smile and a thumbs-up in approval. Her eyes brightened instantly, and she clapped her hands together in delight before quickly retrieving her phone. The soft sound of her dialing the restaurant reached my ears as I turned my attention back to the task at hand, carefully selecting my outfit for the evening. I moved to the closet, my fingers brushing over the fabric of my beige trousers, before settling on the white off-the-shoulder long-sleeve top I had in mind.
Through the sound of Sam’s conversation, I could hear her thanking the restaurant and concluding the call with a polite farewell, placing the phone down on the nearby counter.
‘We have thirty minutes,’ Sam announced, her voice tinged with urgency as she hurriedly began to sift through her own wardrobe. She was clearly eager to be on our way.
In the meantime, I scanned the room for my brown leather bag, which I quickly located beside the dresser. I moved purposefully to grab it, my fingers instinctively reaching for a few essentials—lip balm, a compact mirror, and my phone—before stowing them away with precision. Every movement, though rushed, was deliberate, and the anticipation of the evening ahead added a sense of excitement to the otherwise ordinary act of getting ready.
‘Mmm, that was absolutely delicious,’ Samantha exclaimed, placing her fork and knife neatly on her plate. She leaned back in her chair, a satisfied smile spreading across her face. I was still savoring the last bite of my meal, enjoying every mouthful, but Sam was already thinking ahead.
‘I’m going for a tiramisu,’ I said, setting my cutlery down gently on the plate. Sam’s eyes lit up as she made a mental note of her own dessert choice.
‘I think I’ll go with the cheesecake,’ she replied with a grin, clearly excited about the sweet treat ahead. The waiter passed by, and Sam quickly flagged him down, placing our dessert orders with a touch of enthusiasm.
As we waited for our desserts, the conversation shifted to lighter topics. We discussed the things we might do when we returned to Los Angeles—the places we’d visit, the activities we’d try, and all the adventures we would inevitably have once we were back in familiar surroundings.
‘We should definitely go to the beach as soon as we’re back,’ Sam suggested, her tone dreamy as she stared out the window at the darkening sky. ‘It’s been way too long since we’ve just relaxed, you know? No schedule, no obligations… just the sun and sand.’
I nodded in agreement. ‘And maybe we can check out that new art exhibit downtown. I’ve heard great things about it.’
Sam tilted her head, tapping her chin thoughtfully. ‘That sounds perfect. A little culture mixed with some chill beach time… who wouldn’t love that?’
The waiter soon returned with our desserts, placing the rich, creamy tiramisu in front of me and the decadent cheesecake in front of Sam. We both smiled at the sight of our treats before diving in, the conversation briefly taking a backseat as we indulged in the sweet, velvety desserts. For now, there was no rush, no pressing plans—just the simple joy of good food and even better company.
After we ate, we didn’t head back to the hotel but instead made our way straight to the beach. The warm evening air felt refreshing, and the sound of the waves crashing against the shore was calming. I found myself hoping that I might run into Axel again and get the chance to talk to him, to clear the air after everything that had happened.
As we walked, I suddenly felt a presence beside me, and before I could react, a familiar arm draped around my shoulders. I froze for a moment, instinctively recognizing the clean, woodsy scent of cologne I knew all too well. I turned to find Kwon smiling down at me, his face slightly flushed and his movements a bit unsteady. I could already smell the alcohol on him, and it made me wary.
‘Hey, Y/n,’ he said, his voice a little slurred. He stopped walking, and I followed suit, feeling Sam tense beside me.
‘Kwon, what do you want?’ Sam asked, crossing her arms over her chest, her tone already laced with annoyance. She had never been a fan of his presence, and it was obvious she wasn’t happy to see him now either.
Kwon ignored Sam’s cold response and focused his attention on me. ‘Y/n… I have a question…’ he said, his words dragging a little as he reached for my hand. His hands were warm and soft, but the unsteady way he held it made me hesitate for a moment.
I tilted my head slightly, waiting for him to finish.
‘Can you pleaseee give me a hug?’ he asked, his voice almost childlike. His words were slurred, but there was something in his expression that caught me off guard. It wasn’t the usual confident arrogance or teasing I’d seen from him before. No, this was different. He looked… vulnerable, maybe even a little desperate.
Sam burst out laughing, and I couldn’t help but giggle as well. Kwon’s face remained earnest, though, and despite the humor of the situation, I couldn’t ignore the underlying sadness in his eyes.
I softened, realizing that, despite his arrogance, he was in some kind of emotional state—one that probably wasn’t all that different from mine in moments like this. So, with a small smile, I stepped forward and wrapped my arms around him in a hug.
The warmth of his embrace was brief but surprising, and when I pulled away, Kwon didn’t say anything. He simply looked at me for a moment, almost as if he was processing something. Sam was still chuckling beside us, but there was a sense of quiet tension between Kwon and me, one that I wasn’t quite sure how to interpret.
‘Can we talk, please? Alone?’ Kwon’s voice was low, and he looked at Sam, almost pleading with his eyes. Sam, sensing the shift in his tone, raised her hands in mock surrender.
‘I’ll be by the bonfire,’ she said, pointing to a group of people gathered around the crackling flames a short distance away. I gave her a quick nod and a thumbs up, signaling that everything was fine. She walked off, leaving Kwon and me standing in the quiet space between the noise of the beach and the bonfire.
I turned my attention back to Kwon, who seemed less confident than usual. He was pacing slightly, his hands shoved into his pockets, eyes darting around as if he wasn’t sure what to say. There was an unusual tension in his posture, something different from the usual cocky swagger he wore so effortlessly.
‘So… have you ever heard of “drunk words are sober thoughts?”’ Kwon asked, his words slow and deliberate as if he was choosing each one carefully. There was a hint of vulnerability in his voice, something I hadn’t expected from him.
I nodded, unsure of what to say next. I had heard the saying before, but this time it felt different—more significant. Kwon wasn’t the type to share much, especially when it came to emotions. His usual bravado seemed to have taken a backseat, and for a moment, I could see the struggle in his eyes.
‘Yeah, I’ve heard of it,’ I replied, keeping my voice calm, trying to read him. ‘What does that have to do with this?’
Kwon took a deep breath, his gaze shifting to the sand beneath our feet. He seemed almost lost in his thoughts before looking back up at me. There was a quiet sincerity in his eyes now, something raw and honest that I hadn’t seen before.
‘By that, I really want to say that…’ Kwon trailed off, his words stuck in his throat as if he couldn’t quite find the right way to finish his sentence.
‘Fuck, Y/n, you’re making this extra difficult,’ he muttered under his breath, his frustration evident. He let out a heavy sigh, running a hand through his hair, his gaze darting around as if looking for some kind of escape. It was clear he wasn’t used to being vulnerable, and it was making him uncomfortable.
I frowned, sensing the shift in his mood. He had always been so confident, so sure of himself, but now he seemed like he was struggling to find his footing. Before I could say anything, Kwon suddenly grabbed my shoulder, his touch firm but not aggressive. He looked at me, his expression tense but also filled with something else—maybe desperation, maybe hope.
‘Do you want to go for a walk?’ he asked, his voice quieter now, a hint of uncertainty in it that I hadn’t heard before.
I hesitated for a moment, but then I nodded. There was something about the way he was looking at me, something that made me want to hear him out, even if I didn’t entirely understand what was going on.
‘Yeah,’ I said softly. ‘Let’s go for a walk.’
He let out a breath of relief, as though my answer gave him a small sense of peace. Without another word, he guided me away from the spot we had been standing, the tension between us still lingering in the air but not as heavy as before. We began walking along the beach, the sound of the waves crashing against the shore filling the silence between us.
There was a long silence between us, a thick, suffocating pause that seemed to stretch on forever. The air between us felt charged, uncomfortable, like something unsaid was hanging there, waiting to be acknowledged. I could feel the tension in his posture, the way he was walking just a little too close, but not close enough.
Then, as if it couldn’t stay quiet any longer, Kwon broke the silence. His voice was low, almost hesitant, but there was an edge to it.
‘I hate the feeling when I see you with Axel,’ he said suddenly, his words slicing through the air like a confession he hadn’t meant to make.
I stopped walking, my heart skipping a beat. I turned to him, trying to read his expression, but it was unreadable—like he was fighting some internal battle, the one I hadn’t been prepared for. My stomach twisted as I tried to figure out what he meant, but before I could ask, he looked away, his jaw clenched.
And then, without warning, he took a deep breath and said something that completely threw me off balance.
‘I… I can’t just stand by and watch anymore.’
¡Important!
